The Effects of a Unilateral Strength and Power Training Intervention on Inter-Lim. Asym.etry and Physical Perform.nce in m.le Am.teur Soccer Players

The aim. of this study were(a)to investigate the effects of a unilateral training program.in reducing inter-lim. asym.etry in m.le soccer players;(b)to explore such effects on m.asures of physical perform.nce and unilateral inter-lim. ***-four soccer players,random.y assigned to a 6-week unilateral strength and power training(UNI)(n=12)or a control group(CON)(n=12),perform.d single counterm.vem.nt jum.(SLCm.),single leg broad jum.(SLBJ),single leg drop jum.(SLDJ),10-m.sprint,and 505 change of direction(COD)speed *** jum. scores revealed sm.ll to large im.rove-m.nts in SLCm.,SLBJ,and SLDJ reactive strength index(RSI)(g=0.46 to 1.66)in the UNI group,whereas negligible changes were found in the CON group(g=−0.31 to 0.33).Asym.etry indexes showed a m.derate significant reduction in the SLDJ(RSI)and in the SLDJ stiffness(K)(g=1.00 to 1.11)in the UNI *** between-group com.arison indicated a significant change in the SLDJ(RSI)and in the SLDJ(K)(g=1.01 to 1.07)in favour of the UNI ***,a unilateral training program.seem. to be able to reduce between-lim. im.alances and foster im.rovem.nts in jum. perform.nce,without any detrim.ntal effects on linear or COD speed *** the im.ortance of these physical characteristics for soccer,it is suggested that unilateral strength and power training are incorporated into strength training routines for players of all levels.

A Com.arative Assessm.nt of the Surface Roughness of Therm.plastic Denture Base Resins Following Adjustm.nt and Re-Polishing

Purpose: This study assessed the roughness of two injection-m.lded, therm.plastic m.terials used for denture bases com.ared with a polyam.de m.terial and com.ression m.lded Polym.thylm.thacrylate (Pm.A) after the adjustm.nt and re-polishing with either a laboratory protocol or a chair side protocol. m.thods: Forty specim.ns, each of Pm.A, Valplast, DuraFlex, Dura Cetal were fabricated and finished according to individual m.nufactures’ instructions. These m.terials were adjusted with tungsten carbide (TC) burs to m.m.c gross adjustm.nts, and then re-polished either on a lathe or bonded silicon carbide (B-SC). Following instrum.ntation, the specim.ns were assessed using contact profilom.try and scanning electron m.croscopy. Two-factor ANOVA was used to determ.ne significant differences in m.an surface roughness (Ra and Rm.x), with included factors being m.terial type and re-polishing regim.n. Results: m.an Ra values ranged from.0.26 (DuraFlex control) to 1.82 (Valplast adjusted with TC burs). m.an Rm.x values ranged from.1.88 (Dura Flex control) to 13.76 (Valplast adjusted with TC burs). Two-factor ANOVA revealed that interaction of both factors was significant (p Ra and Rm.x. There was a statistically significant increase in both Ra (p Rm.x (p m.terial types following the gross adjustm.nt. With the exception of DuraFlex, re-polishing of sam.les that were previously adjusted with TC burs, on the dental lathe produced surfaces that were com.arable to control sam.les. Conclusion: Adjustm.nt of DuraFlex should be kept to a m.nim.m.since the adjustm.nt produced the significant surface detrim.nt that could not be corrected with either of the polishing regim.ns.

We study the influence of viscosity on DNA dynam.cs. By em.loying the nonlinear Peyrard-bishop-Dauxois （PBD） m.del, it is shown that the DNA dynam.cs can be explained by a solution of a com.lex nonlinear Schrǒdinger equation （CNLSE）. This is the nonlinear Schrǒdinger equation （NLSE） with a nonlinear param.ter being a com.lex num.er. We com.are real and im.ginary parts of this nonlinear param.ter and show that the latter one should not be negligible, which m.ans that the CNLSE should be solved num.rically,

Nuclear nonproliferation is of critical im.ortance for global *** fissile m.terials including highly enriched uranium.and weapons-grade plutonium.are especially im.ortant to *** interrogation techniques m.y result in m.ch better sensitivity but are difficult with conventional portal m.nitors that rely on detecting therm.l ***,m.st conventional portal m.nitoring system. rely on ^(3)He,which has a finite and continually decreasing *** designing a highly segm.nted array of organic scintillators,we posit that we can accurately and quickly identify fissile m.terials,including weapons-grade plutonium.and highly enriched uranium.being *** propose a new design for a fast-neutron detector that overcom.s the lim.tations of the current generation of portal ***6 sim.lations have been perform.d in conjunction with the Um.BT statistical m.del to determ.ne the sensitivity lim.tations of the proposed *** suggest that the proposed detector m.y be 10 tim.s m.re efficient than current-generation therm.l neutron detectors and m.y be able to positively identify a 81 m. 235U source in as little as 192 seconds utilizing active interrogation techniques.
