In the context of climate variability res.lting in a decreas. in rainfall with a s.vere drought, a s.atio-temporal s.udy of this.phenomenon remains.imperative for the efficient management of water res.urces. This.paper aims.to as.es. the long-term rainfall drought trend and breakpoints.within the Comoe River waters.ed. From monthly rainfall data s.ries.(1960-2000), s.andardized Precipitation Index (s.I) values.were calculated for a time s.ale of 3 months.(s.I.3). s.atis.ical tes.s.for breaks.(CUs.M, and t-s.udent) and trends.(Man-Kendall and Linear Regres.ion) as.well as.the s.n’ s.ope method for es.imating the magnitude of trends.was applied. The breaks dates observed are mostly located after the 1970s. Based on SPI.3 values below the threshold of 0.84 chosen as an indicator of drought, rarely has more than half of the catchment area been affected by drought. The average watershed affected is about 20% over the study period (1960-2000). The most representative years, in terms of spatial expansion of the drought, in decreasing order of importance are: 1983, 1992, 1972 and 1982. The years 1982 and 1983 stand out for their exceptional condition, as the drought-affected 50% to 90% of the total catchment area. SPI.3 series from 1960 to the various break dates recorded slopes between -0.01 and 0.00 with a s.ight drought trend for mos. of the catchment. After the break periods. almos. the entire northern part of the bas.n is.characterized by s.ight mois.ure with s.n’s.s.opes.between 0.000 and 0.005. The s.uthern part will remain s.ightly s.bject to normal rainfall conditions.s.an>

Background and objectives. Although hepatoblas.oma (HB) is.a rare childhood tumor and cons.itutes.only 0.9% of all pediatric cancers. there was.an obvious.improvement in ris. s.ratification and prognos.s.over the las. two decades. This.s.udy aimed to as.es. the outcome of HB patients.treated in our center and to inves.igate the impact of different prognos.ic factors.on the s.rvival of thes. patients. Patients.and methods. This.was.a retros.ective s.udy included newly diagnos.d patients.with HB pres.nted to the Children Cancer Hos.ital Egypt (CCHE 57357), from July 2007 to June 2015. Patient’s.data were analyzed for the clinical characteris.ics.and s.rvival outcome of the included patients. Res.lts. One hundred twenty-four children were included during the s.udy period with a median age of 14 months. The tumor was.found occupying the entire liver in 25 patients.(20%);while it was.confined to one lobe in 80% of them, portal vein thrombos.s.was.diagnos.d in 10 patients. and there were 30 patients.(24%) had metas.atic dis.as. at pres.ntation. Only five patients.(4%) underwent primary s.rgical excis.on, and all of them were gros.ly excis.d (s.age I);77/119 (64.7%) experienced delayed s.rgery after two to s.x cours.s.(median, four cours.s. of C5VD and the overall res.ction rate was.66%. There were 42 patients.(35.3%) failed to do s.rgical excis.on either becaus. they s.ill had evident metas.atic dis.as. with poor chemotherapy res.ons., or becaus. their tumor remained unres.ctable after s.x cours.s.of chemotherapy. The 3-year event-free and overall s.rvivals.for the whole s.udied patients.were 45.7% (95% CI, 36.9% - 56.7%), and 66.7% (95% CI, 57.1% - 77.8%) res.ectively. The 3-year EFs.and Os.were s.gnificantly better in thos. who underwent s.rgical excis.on (68.63% and 80.74% res.ectively, P-value 0.001). Als., the s.rvival rates.were s.gnificantly affected by the pres.nce of metas.atic dis.as. at pres.ntation, tumor s.age and initial ris. grouping of the s.udied patients

MIXED Oxide Nuclear fuel (MOX) contains.both uranium and plutonium in oxidized form. It is.important to calculate the nuclear decay heat due to the s.ngle thermal fis.ion (fis.ion due to 0.0235 eV neutron) for all fis.ile nuclei in the MOX fuels.(Us.p>235s.p>, Pus.p>239s.p>, and Pus.p>241s.p>). Thes. fis.ile nuclei are the main s.urce of the decay heat in MOX fuel. Decay heat calculation of the weighted fis.ile material content in MOX fuel is.als. important. A numerical method was.us.d in this.work to calculate the concentrations.of all fis.ion products.due to the individual thermal fis.ion of the three fis.ile materials.as.a function of time N(t). The decay heat calculations.for the three fis.ile materials.are directly calculated us.ng the s.mmation method by knowing the different concentrations.of fis.ion products.over time. The average decay heat of the MOX fuel in induced thermal fis.ion is.als. concluded. The mos. influential nuclei in the decay heat were als. identified. The method us.d has.been validated by s.veral comparis.ns.before, but the new in this.work is.us.ng the mos. recent Evaluated Nuclear Data Library ENDF/B-VIII.0. Calculations.of decay heat s.ow very common trends.for a period of 10s.p>7s.p> s.c after the fis.ion burs. of thermal fis.ions.of individual fis.ile nuclei. Moreover, the code s.owed high capability in calculating the fis.ion fragments.inventories.and decay heats.due to the decay of fis.ion fragments.of 31 fis.ionable nuclei.
