Metatranscriptomics is a cutting-edge technology for exploring the gene expression by,and functional activities of,the microbial community across diverse ecosystems at a given time,thereby shedding light on their metabolic responses to the prevailing environmental *** double-RNA approach involves the simultaneous analysis of rRNA and mRNA,also termed structural and functional *** contrast,mRNA-centered metatranscriptomics is fully focused on elucidating community-wide gene expression profiles,but requires either deep sequencing or effective rRNA *** this review,we critically assess the challenges associated with various experimental and bioinformatic strategies that can be applied in soil microbial ecology through the lens of functional *** particular,we demonstrate how recent methodological advancements in soil metatranscriptomics catalyze the development and expansion of emerging research fields,such as rhizobiomes,antibiotic resistomes,methanomes,and *** review provides a framework that will help to design advanced metatranscriptomic research in elucidating the functional roles and activities of microbiomes in soil ecosystems.

The spatiotemporal extension/expansion of mine areas is affected by multiple *** far,very little has been done to examine the interaction between mine areas and political or economic ***(ultra‐)mafic magmatic mines in China played a specific role in supporting national development and providing an ideal research subject for monitoring their *** this study,remote sensing and mining‐related GIS data were used to identify and analyze 1233(ultra‐)mafic magmatic mine area polygons in China,which covered approximately 322.96 km2 of land and included a V–Ti–Fe mine,a copper–nickel mine,a chromite mine,an asbestos mine,and a diamond *** was found that(1)the areal expansion of mines is significantly related to the mine types,perimeter,topography,and population density.(2)The mine area variation also reflects market and policy *** temporal expansion of the mine area from 2010 to 2020 followed an S‐shaped pattern(with the turning point occurring in 2014),closely related to iron overcapacity and tightened mining policies.(3)The complexity(D)of the mine area may reflect mine design and excavation *** be specific,lower D indicates early‐stage or artisanal/small‐scale mining,whereas higher D represents large‐scale *** study demonstrates that the detailed mapping of mine land can serve as an indicator to implement miningrelated market and policy ***(ultra‐)mafic mines area data set can be accessed at https://***/record/7636616#.Y-p0uXaZOa0.

This paper introduces the Wolverine Optimization Algorithm (WoOA), a biomimetic method inspired by the foraging behaviors of wolverines in their natural habitats. WoOA innovatively integrates two primary strategies: scavenging and hunting, mirroring the wolverine's adeptness in locating carrion and pursuing live prey. The algorithm's uniqueness lies in its faithful simulation of these dual strategies, which are mathematically structured to optimize various types of problems effectively. The effectiveness of WoOA is rigorously evaluated using the Congress on Evolutionary Computation (CEC) 2017 test suite across dimensions of 10, 30, 50, and 100. The results showcase WoOA's robust performance in exploration, exploitation, and maintaining a balance between these phases throughout the search process. Compared to twelve established metaheuristic algorithms, WoOA consistently demonstrates a superior performance across diverse benchmark functions. Statistical analyses, including paired t-tests, Friedman test, and Wilcoxon rank-sum tests, validate WoOA's significant competitive edge over its counterparts. Additionally, WoOA's practical applicability is illustrated through its successful resolution of twentytwo constrained scenarios from the CEC 2011 suite and four complex engineering design challenges. These applications underscore WoOA's efficacy in tackling real-world optimization challenges, further highlighting its potential for widespread adoption in engineering and scientific domains.

Both the NE Gondwana Platform (Jordan) and the Carpathian/NW Europe Seaway towards the N Atlantic expose comparable sequence analytical patterns as i.e. the Maximum Flooding Surface (MSF), relating to the Arabian Shelf, throughout one of the warmest Phanerozoic Epochs. Supervolcanic Large Igneous Provinces (LIPs), (explosive island arc andesitic volcanism), Mid-Oceanic Rift Basalts (MORB), (S/N Atlantic, Arctic) and kimberlitic volcanism (W Gondwana) provided striking conditions for an immense influence (tuff, degassing, T) on the sedimentary processing throughout the Cretaceous, mainly verified by K-montmorillonite , dozens of tuff beds (predominantly in NW Germany), zeolite, cristobalite, extremely high chert occurrences as well as the reconfirming of the global anoxic event around the Cenomanian/Turonian b. (94 Ma) by a positive ∂13C-maximum (~0.5%). Thus the lithofacies spectrum (carbonate rocks, chalk, chert, porcellanite, shale) was affected by pH, Eh, T, photosynthesis, and greenhouse gases—change during varying positive/negative climate forcing. While acid sturzrain events caused the transformation of arkosic/subarkosic sediments of the hinterlands to quartz arenite cycles deposited on the Jordanian Platform during early Cretaceous, the other patterns mentioned, led to a rapid change of lithofacies through Late Cretaceous. The southward directed Neotethys transgression can be reconstructed during the Early Cretaceous by glauconite-aged tidalites that give hint on transpressional tectonics during the Upper Cenomanian east of the Dead Sea. The Cretaceous/Paleogene (K-Pg) transitional zone evidences a zone of several cumulative events (island arc-volcanism) and the Chicxulub impact, indicated by at least two extinctions phases. The southward obduction of the Palmyrides, Syria and related transtensional/transpressional strike slip tectonics (partially pull-apart structures) left a fast facies change on the Jordanian Platform.

This paper introduces a groundbreaking metaheuristic algorithm named Magnificent Frigatebird Optimization(MFO),inspired by the unique behaviors observed in magnificent frigatebirds in their natural *** foundation of MFO is based on the kleptoparasitic behavior of these birds,where they steal prey from other *** this process,a magnificent frigatebird targets a food-carrying seabird,aggressively pecking at it until the seabird drops its *** frigatebird then swiftly dives to capture the abandoned prey before it falls into the *** theoretical framework of MFO is thoroughly detailed and mathematically represented,mimicking the frigatebird’s kleptoparasitic behavior in two distinct phases:exploration and *** the exploration phase,the algorithm searches for new potential solutions across a broad area,akin to the frigatebird scouting for vulnerable *** the exploitation phase,the algorithm fine-tunes the solutions,similar to the frigatebird focusing on a single target to secure its *** evaluate MFO’s performance,the algorithm is tested on twenty-three standard benchmark functions,including unimodal,high-dimensional multimodal,and fixed-dimensional multimodal *** results from these evaluations highlight MFO’s proficiency in balancing exploration and exploitation throughout the optimization *** studies with twelve well-known metaheuristic algo-rithms demonstrate that MFO consistently achieves superior optimization results,outperforming its competitors across various *** addition,the implementation of MFO on four engineering design problems shows the effectiveness of the proposed approach in handling real-world applications,thereby validating its practical utility and robustness.

We consider the Hyperverse as a collection of multiverses in a (4 + 1)-dimensional spacetime with gravitational constant G . Multiverses in our model are bouquets of thin shells (with synchronized intrinsic times). If g is the gravitational constant of a shell S and ε its thickness, then G ~ ε g . The physical universe is supposed to be one of those thin shells inside the local bouquet called Local Multiverse . Other remarkable objects of the Hyperverse are supposed to be black holes, black lenses, black rings and (generalized) Black Saturns. In addition, Schwarzschild-de Sitter multiversal nurseries can be hidden inside those Black Saturns, leading to their Bousso-Hawking nucleation. It also suggests that black holes in our physical universe might harbor embedded (2 + 1)-dimensional multiverses. This is compatible with outstanding ideas and results of Bekenstein, Hawking-Vaz and Corda about “black holes as atoms” and the condensation of matter on “apparent horizons”. It allows us to formulate conjecture 12.1 about the origin of the Local Multiverse. As an alternative model, we examine spacetime warping of our universe by external universes. It gives data for the accelerated expansion and the cosmological constant Λ, which are in agreement with observation, thus opening a possibility for verification of the multiverse model.
