As a non-toxic,highly reactive biomass material,gelatin is wildly used as the component of biomass-based adhesive.However,like most aqueous adhesives,gelatin-based adhesives suffer from long solidifying time or high solidifying temperature due to the low volatility of water,which highly limits the application potential of gelatinbased adhesives.Inspired by the fast adhesion of marine organisms through the formation of chemical crosslinks,herein,a kind of low temperature curable eco-friendly gelatin-based adhesive with good adhesive properties and fast curing at low temperature is developed by introducing clicking chemical Diels-Alder(DA)reaction between blocked waterborne polyurethane(MWPU)and gelatin.The furfuryl glycidyl ether(FGE)and 4-Maleimidophenol(4-HPM)for the DA reaction are grafted on gelatin,and the end-capping of MWPU,respectively.With the addition of MWPU and FGE,the cross-linking degree of gelatin increased,and the adhesion properties of the adhesive were improved.The shear strength and T-peel strength of the modified adhesive reached 0.95 MPa and 1.42 N/mm,respectively,after the curing time of 8 min at 40℃,which can meet the application requirements as adhesive for bio-medical use.

LLE data of cyclooctane/3-methylpentane + benzene/toluene + N-methylpyrrolidone (NMP) at 298.15 Kand 313.15 K under a pressure of 101.3 kPa were measured in this work. The Othmer-Tobias and Handequations were adopted to validate the reliability of LLE data, where the correlation coefficients (R2) wereclose to unity, indicating the high reliability of the experimental data. The experimental data were analyzed using the distribution coefficient (D) and separation factor (S), and the effect of NMP extracting benzene and toluene from aromatics was explored. Meanwhile, the reason for the different extractionefficiencies of benzene and toluene using NMP was analyzed by quantum chemical calculations. TheNRTL and UNIQUAC thermodynamic models were used to correlate the liquid–liquid equilibrium data,and the relevant binary interaction parameters were obtained. The calculated root mean square deviation(RMSD) were all less than 0.0063, indicating that the obtained binary interaction parameters can be usedto simulate and calculate the extraction of aromatics using NMP.

Metal-based nanomaterials usually have broad-spectrum antibacterial properties,low biological toxicity and no drug resistance due to their intrinsic enzyme-like catalytic properties and external field(magnetic,thermal,acoustic,optical and electrical)responsiveness.Herein,iron oxide(Fe_(3)O_(4))nanoparticles(IONPs)synthesized by us have good biosafety,excellent photothermal conversion ability and peroxidase-like catalytic activity,which can be used to construct a photothermal-enzymes combined antibacterial treatment platform.IONPs with peroxide-like catalytic activity can induce H_(2)O_(2)to catalyze the production of·OH in a slightly acidic environment,thus achieving certain bactericidal effects and increasing the sensitivity of bacteria to heat.When stimulated by near-infrared light,the photothermal effect could destroy bacterial cell membranes,resulting in cleavage and inactivation of bacterial protein,DNA or RNA.Meanwhile,it can also improve the catalytic activity of peroxidase-like and promote IONPs to catalyze the production of more·OH for killing bacteria.After IONPs synergistic treatment,the antibacterial rate of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus reached nearly 100%.It also has an obvious killing effect on bacteria in infected wounds of mice and can effectively promote the healing of S.aureusinfected wounds,which has great application potential in clinical anti-infection treatment.

Background: Ubiquitination plays an essential role in many biological processes, including viral infection, and can be reversed by deubiquitinating enzymes (DUBs). Although some studies discovered that DUBs inhibit or enhance viral infection by various mechanisms, there is lack of information on the role of DUBs in virus regulation, which needs to be further investigated.Methods: Immunoblotting, real-time polymerase chain reaction,in vivo/in vitro deubiquitination, protein immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescence, and co-localization biological techniques were employed to examine the effect of ubiquitin-specific protease 3 (USP3) on APOBEC3G (A3G) stability and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) replication. To analyse the relationship between USP3 and HIV disease progression, we recruited 20 HIV-infected patients to detect the levels of USP3 and A3G in peripheral blood and analysed their correlation with CD4^(+) T-cell counts. Correlation was estimated by Pearson correlation coefficients (for parametric data).Results: The results demonstrated that USP3 specifically inhibits HIV-1 replication in an A3G-dependent manner. Further investigation found that USP3 stabilized 90% to 95% of A3G expression by deubiquitinating Vif-mediated polyubiquitination and blocking its degradation in an enzyme-dependent manner. It also enhances the A3G messenger RNA (mRNA) level by binding to A3G mRNA and stabilizing it in an enzyme-independent manner. Moreover, USP3 expression was positively correlated with A3G expression (r= 0.5110) and CD4^(+) T-cell counts (r= 0.5083) in HIV-1-infected patients.Conclusions: USP3 restricts HIV-1 viral infections by increasing the expression of the antiviral factor A3G. Therefore, USP3 may be an important target for drug development and serve as a novel therapeutic strategy against viral infections.

Engineering of the luminescent properties for graphene quantum dots （GQDs） presents two enormous challenges： 1） The bandgap of GQDs is mainly determined by structural defects （size, shape, and the fraction of sp2 and sp3 domains）, which results in non-stoichiometric nature; 2） the preparation methods limit the achievement of an accurate chemical structure of GQDs, leading to many controversial explanations over the relationship between the structural defects and bandgaps. Here, single-layered GQDs with an exact structure are obtained by in-situ reaction of intercalated precursors in the confined nanospace of layered double hydroxides （LDHs）. Subsequently, the structure-property relationship is uncovered, demonstrating the enhanced fluorescence and activated room temperature phosphorescence of the as-pre- pared GQDs-LDHs, which originate from synergistic effects： 1） strong confine- ment provided by the nanospace of LDHs; 2） rich O-containing functional groups on the surface of GQDs resulting from LDH catalysis. Moreover, the colorless nature and dual-emission characteristics of GQDs-LDHs satisfy the preconditions as anti-counterfeiting markers for protecting valuable documents （bank notes, commercial invoices, etc.）. Particularly, owing to the low toxicity of GQDs and the edible property of LDHs, the GQDs-LDHs/gelatin capsules could be the new generation of potential green anti-counterfeiting material in the field of food and drugs.

Analysis of a Rare Heavy Rain Weather Process in Autumn in Ulanqab City

Based on the conventional observation data and NCEP/NCAR reanalysis data,the circulation situation,influencing systems and causes of the heavy rain during September 20-21,2010 in Ulanqab City were analyzed from the evolution process of weather circulation situation and the changes of various physical quantity fields.The results show that there was an obvious frontal zone between 45-52°N,which brought strong cold air.The transport of warm and humid air outside the subtropical high and typhoon was the main water vapor source of the strong precipitation,and the southwest jet at 700 hPa transported abundant water vapor.There was a broad inverted trough to the south of 45°N,with a central value of 1000.0 hPa.Ulanqab City was on the top of the inverted trough,stable and less moved,which was conducive to the occurrence of systematic heavy precipitation.The rainstorm was a strong precipitation process caused by the intersection of cold air brought by the southward movement of the upper frontal zone and warm and humid air outside the subtropical high.After the precipitation,the invasion of strong cold air brought frost and cold wave weather to Ulanqab City.

Incidence and mortality of laryngeal cancer in China,2008–2012

Objective：To analyze the incidence and mortality rates of laryngeal cancer in China from 2008 to 2012.Methods：Incident and death cases of laryngeal cancer were retrieved from the National Central Cancer Registry（NCCR）database collecting from 135 cancer registries in China during 2008–2012.The crude incidence and mortality rates of laryngeal cancer were calculated by area（urban/rural）,region（eastern,middle,western）,gender and age group（0,1–4,5–9,…,85＋）.China census in 2000 and Segi’s world population were applied for age standardized rates.Join Point（Version 4.***.0.1）model was used for time trend analysis.Results：The crude incidence rate of laryngeal cancer was 1.86/100,000 ranked the 21st in overall cancers.The age-standardized incidence rates by China population（ASIRC）and by World population（ASIRW）were1.22/100,000 and 1.23/100,000,respectively.The crude mortality of laryngeal cancer in China was 1.01/100,000and it was the 21st cause of cancer-related death in overall cancers.Both the age-standardized mortality rates by Chinese standard population（ASMRC）and by world standard population（ASMRW）were 0.63/100,000.Incidence and mortality rates of laryngeal cancer were higher in males than in females and higher in urban areas than in rural areas.Middle areas had the highest incidence and mortality rates followed by eastern and western areas.Incidence and mortality rates of laryngeal cancer retained low level before age of 40 years old but increased greatly after and peaked in age group of 75.Incidence showed significant down trends in recent 10 years by 1.27%annually[95%confidence interval（95%CI）：–2.2%,–0.3%].Mortality declined in females sharply by 5.18%per year although stable in males and both sexes combined.Conclusions：Appropriate targeted prevention,early detection and treatment programs should be carried out to control the local burden of laryngeal cancer.

Magnesium phosphate bone cement has become a widely used orthopedic implant due to the advantages of fast-setting and high early strength. However, developing magnesium phosphate cement possessing applicable injectability, high strength, and biocompatibility simultaneously remains a significant challenge. Herein, we propose a strategy to develop high-performance bone cement and establish a trimagnesium phosphate cement (TMPC) system. The TMPC exhibits high early strength, low curing temperature, neutral pH, and excellent injectability, overcoming the critical limitations of recently studied magnesium phosphate cement. By monitoring the hydration pH value and electroconductivity, we demonstrate that the magnesium-to-phosphate ratio could manipulate the components of hydration products and their transformation by adjusting the pH of the system, which will influence the hydration speed. Further, the ratio could regulate the hydration network and the properties of TMPC. Moreover, in vitro studies show that TMPC has outstanding biocompatibility and bone-filling capacity. The facile preparation properties and these advantages of TMPC render it a potential clinical alternative to polymethylmethacrylate and calcium phosphate bone cement. This study will contribute to the rational design of high-performance bone cement.

Dynamic Response of Phragmites australis and Suaeda salsa to Climate Change in the Liaohe Delta Wetland

Because of its unique geographical location and ecological function, the Liaohe Delta Wetland is important in maintaining regional ecological balance and security. Monitoring and evaluating changes in the wetland are therefore of great importance. We used medium-and high-resolution satellite data, meteorological station data, and site measurement data to analyze changes in the area and spatial distribution of Phragmites australis and Suaeda salsa in the Liaohe Delta Wetland from 1998 to 2017, as well as their growth response to the climate change. The results showed that during 1998–2017, the areas of both P. australis and S. salsa wetlands alternated through periods of decreasing,increasing, and then decreasing trends. The annual change in the area and spatial distribution range of S. salsa fluctuated more than that of P. australis. The annual variation of normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI) in P. australis wetland showed an upward trend from 1998 to 2017. The area of P. australis cover that was improved, unchanged, and decreased accounted for 81.8%, 12.3%, and 5.9%, respectively, of the total area;evaporation and wind speed were the main meteorological factors affecting the NDVI;and contribution rates of the climate change and human activities to the NDVI were 73.2% and 26.8%, respectively. The area with vegetation cover being mainly S.salsa that was improved, unchanged, and decreased accounted for 63.3%, 18.3%, and 18.4%, respectively, of the total area;and no meteorological factors significantly affected the NDVI of S. salsa in the region. The interaction between vegetation growth and meteorological factors may help to explain the increasing trend in vegetation cover.The improvement in wetland vegetation also led to carbon sequestration and an increase in sequestration capacity.
