Volatile organic compounds(VOC)have been proven to cause considerable harm to both the ecological environment and human *** VOC emissions are primarily generated by the industrial *** utilization of porous carbon as an adsorbent has emerged as an effective method for the efficient removal of VOC from industrial ***,during the actual production processes,VOC exhaust gases are often mixed with water vapor,which poses challenges for adsorption *** review provides a comprehensive overview of the remarkable advancements in various carbon materials in terms of their ability to adsorb both VOC and water ***,it systematically summarizes the influence of surface groups on adsorbents and the molecular properties of VOC on their adsorption by carbon ***,this review introduces the mechanism underlying adsorption-adsorbent interactions and discusses the construction of models for adsorbing water vapor and *** challenges associated with the application of carbon materials for VOC adsorption in humid environments are also *** review aims to offer theoretical and technical guidance for the effective purification of moist VOC waste gases emitted from industrial sources,thereby achieving precise control of VOC emissions.

This paper investigates a multi-component repairable system with double threshold control *** system is composed of n identical and independent components which operate simultaneously at the beginning,and it is down when the number of operating components decreases to k−1(k≤n).When the number of failed components is less than the value L,the repairman repairs them with a low repair *** high repair rate is activated as soon as L failed components present,and continues until the number of failed components drops to the value N−*** the matrix analytical method,the Laplace transform technique and the properties of the phase type distribution,various performance measures including the availability,the rate of occurrence of failures,and the reliability are derived in transient and stationary ***,numerical examples are reported to show the behaviour of the system.

Background:Port-wine stain(PWS)has been classified not as the hyperplasia of cells,but rather,as an expansion of malformed ***,previous studies have reported upregulated expression of proangiogenic factors in *** studies have indicated that the pathology exhibits proliferation of numerous endothelial cells in hypertrophic/nodular *** study aimed to determine the expression of vascular epithelial growth factor(VEGF),matrix metalloproteinase-9(MMP-9),angiopoietin-2(ANG-2),and basic fibroblast growth factor(bFGF)in hypertrophic ***:Immunohistochemistry was used to analyze skin samples from 33 patients with hypertrophic *** levels of VEGF,MMP-9,ANG-2,and bFGF in hypertrophic PWS were determined by multiplying the intensity by the percentage of immunoreactive *** scores were classified as follows:negative(0),low(1),moderate(2,3,and 4),or high(6).Results:Based on pathological characteristics,hypertrophic PWS was divided into vascular malformation and pyogenic granuloma(PG)***,MMP-9,ANG-2,and bFGF were significantly activated in the blood vessels of PG-type PWS samples compared with their counterparts in blood vessels of vascular malformation-type PWS samples and ***-type hypertrophic PWS,which exhibited proliferation of endothelial cells,showed the strongest ***:The exuberant proliferation of endothelial cells in PG-type hypertrophic PWS may be associated with the regulation of proangiogenic factors during *** proangiogenic factors that function in the angiogenesis and proliferation of endothelial cells may play an important role in the pathogenesis and progression of ***,these factors may be dynamic and behave differently in various types of hypertrophic PWS.

A Leaking-Proof Theranostic Nanoplatform for Tumor-Targeted and Dual-Modality Imaging-Guided Photodynamic Therapy

Objective:A protein-based leaking-proof theranostic nanoplatform for dual-modality imaging-guided tumor photodynamic therapy(PDT)has been *** Statement:A site-specific conjugation of chlorin e6(Ce6)to ferrimagnetic ferritin(MFtn-Ce6)has been constructed to address the challenge of unexpected leakage that often occurs during small-molecule drug ***:PDT is one of the most promising approaches for tumor treatment,while a delivery system is typically required for hydrophobic ***,the nonspecific distribution and leakage of photosensitizers could lead to insufficient drug accumulation in tumor ***:An engineered ferritin was generated for site-specific conjugation of Ce6 to obtain a leaking-proof delivery system,and a ferrimagnetic core was biomineralized in the cavity of ferritin,resulting in a fluorescent ferrimagnetic ferritin nanoplatform(MFtn-Ce6).The distribution and tumor targeting of MFtn-Ce6 can be detected by magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)and fluorescence imaging(FLI).Results:MFtn-Ce6 showed effective dual-modality MRI and FLI.A prolonged in vivo circulation and increased tumor accumulation and retention of photosensitizer was *** time-dependent distribution of MFtn-Ce6 can be precisely tracked in real time to find the optimal time window for PDT *** colocalization of ferritin and the iron oxide core confirms the high stability of the nanoplatform in *** results showed that mice treated with MFtn-Ce6 exhibited marked tumor-suppressive activity after laser ***:The ferritin-based leaking-proof nanoplatform can be used for the efficient delivery of the photosensitizer to achieve an enhanced therapeutic *** method established a general approach for the dual-modality imagingguided tumor delivery of PDT agents.

Background Ethanol embolotherapy is considered an optimal choice for the treatment of arteriovenous malformations(AVMs);however,there are some complications associated with this *** study aimed to prospectively investigate systemic hemodynamic changes in high-flow AVMs using ethanol *** From September 2012 to September 2014,34 male patients and 26 female patients with AVMs who underwent embolotherapy(100 sessions in total)with absolute ethanol were included in this *** systolic blood pressure(SBP)and heart rate(HR)were recorded before and after each injection and throughout the *** between the initial and highest SBP(ΔmaxSP)and HR values(ΔmaxHR),as well as the initial and final SBP(ΔSP)and HR(ΔHR)values,were *** aimed to explore the potential association between these values and the amount of ethanol that was *** The total ethanol used was variable(0.01–0.40 mL/kg;mean,0.20 mL/kg).SBP and HR increased after ethanol injection in most sessions(91 in 100 sessions).SBP decreased in 9 sessions(9 in 100 sessions),while HR,oxygen saturation,and end-tidal CO2 decreased in one of the 9 sessions.ΔmaxSP andΔmaxHR averaged 38.4 mmHg and 27.8 bpm,respectively(both P<0.05),whileΔSP andΔHR averaged 3.4 mmHg and 4.0 bpm,respectively(both P<0.05).ΔmaxSP andΔmaxHR were positively correlated with the total dose of ethanol *** Elevations in SBP and HR during ethanol embolotherapy are common,temporary,and most likely pain-mediated;these increases tend to be positively correlated with ethanol *** may be regarded as an acute complication of ethanol *** combined with bradycardia,oxygen desaturation,and decreased end-tidal CO2 may be a potential predictor of cardiovascular collapse.
