Succinylation modification:a potential therapeutic target in stroke

Stroke is a leading cause of mortality and disability *** cell death triggered by the compromised supply of blood oxygen and glucose is one of the major pathophysiology of strokeinduced brain *** mitochondrial energy metabolism is observed minutes after stroke and is closely associated with the progression of ***,a new type of posttranslational modification,known as lysine succinylation,has been recognized to play a significant role in mitochondrial energy metabolism after ***,the role of succinylation modification in cell metabolism after stroke and its regulation are not well *** aimed to review the effects of succinylation on energy metabolism,reactive oxygen species generation,and neuroinflammation,as well as Sirtuin 5 mediated desuccinylation after *** also highlight the potential of targeting succinylation/desuccinylation as a promising strategy for the treatment of *** succinylation level is dynamically regulated by the nonenzymatic or enzymatic transfer of a succinyl group to a protein on lysine residues and the removal of succinyl catalyzed by *** evidence has suggested that succinylation can regulate the metabolic pathway through modulating the activity or stability of metabolic ***,especially Sirtuin 5,are characterized for their desuccinylation activity and have been recognized as a critical regulator of metabolism through desuccinylating numerous metabolic *** between succinylation and desuccinylation has been implicated in the pathophysiology of *** agents that enhance the activity of Sirtuin 5 have been employed to promote desuccinylation and improve mitochondrial metabolism,and neuroprotective effects of these agents have been observed in experimental stroke ***,their therapeutic efficacy in stroke patients should be validated.

Novel CoP/CoMoP_(2) heterojunction with nanoporous structure as an efficient electrocatalyst for hydrogen evolution

The exploration of new heterojunction materials is of great significance in reducing the cost of existing noble metal catalysts and thus realizing the large-scale application of electrocatalytic hydrolysis ***,a novel CoP/CoMoP_(2) heterojunction was synthesized and served as a hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)*** heterojunction has morphology of nanoporous structure,which is conducive to exposing more active sites and facilitating bubbles *** charge distribution is optimized by a strong interface interaction between CoP and CoMoP_(2).The catalyst’s conductivity and the adsorption properties of the intermediates have both been ***/CoMoP_(2) demonstrates excellent HER activity with an overpotential of 93.6 mV at 10 mA∙cm^(-2),which is competitive with the reported performance of analogous *** work provides insights into the development of innovative phosphide-based heterojunction electrocatalysts.

Spectral Index Distribution of Various Scale Components in Supernova Remnant Cassiopeia A

Cassiopeia A(Cas A) is a well-known candidate for studying cosmic-ray acceleration, in which compact features of various scales have attracted much attention. Based on observations by the Very Large Array of Cas A at 6 cm and 21 cm, we measure the spectral index distribution of various scale components using the observation of the 1998 epoch. We decompose its total density image into nine scale components, and map the temperature spectral index distribution of each component, which ranges from-2.48 ± 0.01 to-2.91 ± 0.05. We find that the spectral indices increase from the small scale to large scale components. A damped post-shock magnetic field model with a strength larger than ~200 μg and a damping length scale less than ~10% of the remnant radius can account for the spectral index variation naturally.

Spatial distributions of soil nutrients affected by land use,topography and their interactions,in the Loess Plateau of China

Soil nutrient availability and their spatial distributions are strongly related to land use and landscape *** study aims to address the knowledge gap regarding the interaction between these factors and the underlying *** selected five land uses(grassland with Artemisia gmelinii,woodland with Robinia pseudoacacia,shrubland with Caragana korshinskii and Hippophae rhamnoides,and apple orchard with Malus pumila)and nine slope positions across hillslopes in the Loess Plateau,China,to investigate their combined effects on the contents and stocks of soil organic carbon(SOC),total nitrogen(TN)and total phosphorus(TP).Parametric and non-parametric statistical tests were conducted to determine the significant differences in the means or the medians of the soil nutrient *** showed that the SOC and TN contents of shrubland with Caragana korshinskii were statistically significantly greater than those of the grassland(pgenerally decreased from the upper slope to the middle slope,and to the foot slope for the grassland,woodland and shrublands,and on the contrary,an increasing trend from the upper slope,to the middle slope,and to the foot slope was identified for the apple *** study highlights that land use,slope position and their interaction have significant effects on the spatial distributions of soil *** provides essential empirical evidence for the identification of the optimal vegetation type and slope positions in land management and vegetation restoration activities.

Lead-free Bi_(_(0.5))Na_(_(0.5))TiO_(3)(BNT)piezoelectric ceramics have the advantages of large coercive fields and high Curie *** the improvement of piezoelectric coefficient(d 33)is usually accompanied by a huge sacrifice of depolarization temperature(T d).In this work,a well-balanced performance of d 33 and T d is achieved in MnO_(2)-doped 0.79(Bi_(_(0.5))Na_(_(0.5))TiO_(3))-0.14(Bi_(0.5)K_(0.5)TiO_(3))-0.07BaTiO_(3)ternary *** in-corporation of 0.25 mol%MnO_(2)enhances the d 33 by more than 40%,while T d remains almost unchanged(i.e.,d 33=181 pC/N,T d=184℃).X-ray diffraction(XRD)shows that an appropriate fraction of the small axis-ratio ferroelectric phase(pseudo-cubic,P c)coexists with the long-range ferroelectric phase(tetrag-onal,T)under this MnO_(2)*** force microscopy(PFM)has revealed a special domain configuration,namely large striped and layered macro domains embedded with small *** study provides a distinctive avenue to design BNT-based piezoelectric ceramics with high piezoelectric performance and temperature stability.

High energy density in ultra-thick and flexible electrodes enabled by designed conductive agent/binder composite

Peculiarity of transcriptional and H3K27me3 dynamics during peach bud dormancy

Bud dormancy facilitates the survival of meristems under harsh environmental *** elucidate how molecular responses to chilling accumulation controlling dormancy in peach buds,chromatin immunoprecipitation sequencing to identify the H3K27me3 modifications and RNA sequencing of two peach cultivars with pronounced differences in chilling requirement were carried out,the results showed that genes associated with abscisic acid and gibberellic acid signal pathways play key roles in dormancy *** results demonstrated that peach flower bud differentiation occurred continuously in both cultivars during chilling accumulation,which was correlated with the transcript abundance of key genes involved in phytohormone metabolism and flower bud development under adverse *** more increased strength in high chillingrequirement cultivar along with the chilling accumulation at the genome-wide *** function of the dormancy-associated MADS-box gene PpDAM6 was identified,which is involved in leaf bud break in peach and flower development in transgenic Nicotiana tabacum(NC89).In addition,PpDAM6 was positively regulated by PpCBF,and the genes of putative dormancy-related and associated with metabolic pathways were *** together,these results constituted a theoretical basis for elucidating the regulation of peach bud dormancy transition.

The Sustainable Development goals(SDgs)are significantly off-course as we reach the midpoint of their 2030 *** a scientific perspective,the critical challenge in achieving the SDgs lies in the need for more scientific principles to understand the complex socio-ecological systems(SES)and their interactions influencing the 17 ***,we propose a scientific framework to clarify the common scientific principles and the rational treatment of diversity under these *** framework’s core is revealing the complex mechanisms underlying the achievement of each Sustainable Development goal(SDg)and SDg *** upon the identified mechanisms,complex SES models can be established,and the implementation of SDgs can be formulated as a multi-objective optimization problem,seeking a compromise in competition between essential costs and desired *** framework can assist countries,and even the world in accelerating progress towards the SDgs.

A peak enhancement of frequency response of waveguide integrated silicon-based germanium avalanche photodetector

Avalanche photodetectors(APDs) featuring an avalanche multiplication region are vital for reaching high sensitivity and responsivity in optical transceivers. waveguide-coupled ge-on-Si separate absorption, charge, and multiplication(SACM)APDs are popular due to their straightforward fabrication process, low optical propagation loss, and high detection sensitivity in optical communications. This paper introduces a lateral SACM ge-on-Si APD on a silicon-on-insulator(SOI) wafer, featuring a 10 μm-long, 0.5 μm-wide ge layer at 1310 nm on a standard 8-inch silicon photonics platform. The dark current measures approximately 38.6 μA at-21 V, indicating a breakdown voltage greater than-21 V for the device. The APDs exhibit a unitgain responsivity of 0.5 A/W at-10 V. At-15 V, their responsivity reaches 2.98 and 2.91 A/W with input powers of-10 and-25 dBm, respectively. The device's 3-dB bandwidth is 15 gHz with an input power of-15 dBm and a gain is 11.68. Experimental results show a peak in impedance at high bias voltages, attributed to inductor and capacitor(LC) circuit resonance, enhancing frequency response. Furthermore, 20 gbps eye diagrams at-21 V and-9 dBm input power reveal signal to noise ratio(SNRs) of 5.30. This lateral SACM APD, compatible with the stand complementary metal oxide semiconductor(CMOS) process,shows that utilizing the peaking effect at low optical power increases bandwidth.
