Spatio-temporal variability of surface chlorophyll a in the Yellow Sea and the East China Sea based on reconstructions of satellite data of 2001-2020

Chlorophyll-a(Chl-a)concentration is a primary indicator for marine environmental monitoring.The spatio-temporal variations of sea surface Chl-a concentration in the Yellow Sea(YS)and the East China Sea(ECS)in 2001-2020 were investigated by reconstructing the MODIS Level 3 products with the data interpolation empirical orthogonal function(DINEOF)method.The reconstructed results by interpolating the combined MODIS daily+8-day datasets were found better than those merely by interpolating daily or 8-day data.Chl-a concentration in the YS and the ECS reached its maximum in spring,with blooms occurring,decreased in summer and autumn,and increased in late autumn and early winter.By performing empirical orthogonal function(EOF)decomposition of the reconstructed data fields and correlation analysis with several potential environmental factors,we found that the sea surface temperature(SST)plays a significant role in the seasonal variation of Chl a,especially during spring and summer.The increase of SST in spring and the upper-layer nutrients mixed up during the last winter might favor the occurrence of spring blooms.The high sea surface temperature(SST)throughout the summer would strengthen the vertical stratification and prevent nutrients supply from deep water,resulting in low surface Chl-a concentrations.The sea surface Chl-a concentration in the YS was found decreased significantly from 2012 to 2020,which was possibly related to the Pacific Decadal Oscillation(PDO).

Analysis of a simplification strategy in a nonhydrostatic model for surface and internal wave problems

This paper examines the simplification strategy of retaining only the nonhydrostatic effect of local acceleration in a three-dimensional fully nonhydrostatic model regarding the submesoscale wave phenomenon in the ocean.Elaborate scale analysis of the vertical component of the Reynold-averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS)equation was performed,confirming the rationalization of this simplification.Then,the simplification was implemented in a RANS equation-based nonhydrostatic model NHWAVE(nonhydrostatic WAVE)to make a simplified nonhydrostatic model.Numerical examples were taken to test its performance,including surface sinusoidal waves propagating on an idealized East China Sea topography,tidally induced internal lee waves and small-scale solitary waves.The results show that in a considerably wide range of nonlinear strengths,the simplified nonhydrostatic model can obtain similar results as those in the fully nonhydrostatic model,even for smaller-scale solitary waves.Nonlinearity influences the applicability of the simplification.The stronger the nonlinearity is,the worse the simplified model describes the nonhydrostatic phenomenon.In general,the simplified nonhydrostatic model can simulate surface waves better than internal waves.Improvement of computational efficiency in the simplified nonhydrostatic model is reasonable,reducing the central processing unit time duration in the fully nonhydrostatic model by 16.4%–20.6%.The specially designed algorithm based on the simplified nonhydrostatic equation can remarkably reduce the computational time.

In the Xiangshan Bay at the east coast of China,coastal marine pollution is conspicuous and severe in recent years.As transport of the pollutants is closely related to the coastal circulation,there is a great practical significance to investigate the circulation in this area.In this work,the surface pattern and vertical profiles of Lagrangian residual velocity(LRV)were studied based on field observation data from the inner Xiangshan Bay.By tracking GPS-GPRS drifters’trajectories,the surface LRV pattern is going out in the central deep trough and flowing inwards near the shoreside.Combined with data from two mooring stations,vertical profiles of LRV is flowing out at surface and flowing in at the bottom,consistent with the gravitational circulation induced by baroclinic effects at the estuary.However,according to the diagnostic analysis,the main mechanism driving the residual current is barotropic rather than baroclinic.The LRV equation is controlled by the tidally-averaged barotropic pressure gradient force,tidal body force and tidally-averaged turbulent stress,while the tidallyaveraged baroclinic pressure gradient force is one order of magnitude less than other forces.Additionally,the tidally mean eddy viscosity coefficient which is used in the expression of tidally-averaged turbulent stress might be not adequate and requires further studies.

Spatiotemporal variation and mechanisms of temperature inversion in the Bay of Bengal and the eastern equatorial Indian Ocean

In the northern Bay of Bengal,the existence of intense temperature inversion during winter is a widely accepted phenomenon.However,occurrences of temperature inversion during other seasons and the spatial distribution within and adjacent to the Bay of Bengal are not well understood.In this study,a higher resolution spatiotemporal variation of temperature inversion and its mechanisms are examined with mixed layer heat and salt budget analysis utilizing long-term Argo(2004 to 2020)and RAMA(2007 to 2020)profiles data in the Bay of Bengal and eastern equatorial Indian Ocean(EEIO).Temperature inversion exists(17.5%of the total 39293 Argo and 51.6%of the 28894 RAMA profiles)throughout the year in the entire study area.It shows strong seasonal variation,with the highest occurrences in winter and the lowest in spring.Besides winter inversion in the northern Bay of Bengal,two other regions with frequent temperature inversion are identified in this study for the first time:the northeastern part of the Bay of Bengal and the eastern part of the EEIO during summer and autumn.Driving processes of temperature inversion for different subregions are revealed in the current study.Penetration of heat(mean~25 W/m;)below the haline-stratified shallow mixed layer leads to a relatively warmer subsurface layer along with the simultaneous cooling tendency in mixed layer,which controls more occurrence of temperature inversion in the northern Bay of Bengal throughout the year.Comparatively lower cooling tendency due to net surface heat loss and higher mixed layer salinity leaves the southern part of the bay less supportive to the formation of temperature inversion than the northern bay.In the EEIO,slightly cooling tendency in the mixed layer along with the subduction of warm-salty Arabian Sea water beneath the cold-fresher Bay of Bengal water,and downwelling of thermocline creates a favorable environment for forming temperature inversion mainly during summer and autumn.Deeper isothermal layer depth,and thicker barrier layer thickness inten

Variations in incoming shortwave radiation influence the net surface heat flux,contributing to the formation of a temperature inversion.The effects of shortwave radiation on the temperature inversions in the Bay of Bengal and eastern equatorial Indian Ocean have never been investigated.Thus,a high-resolution(horizontal resolution of 0.07°×0.07° with 50 vertical layers) Regional Ocean Modeling System(ROMS) model is utilized to quantify the contributions of shortwave radiation to the temperature inversions in the study domain.Analyses of the mixed layer heat and salt budgets are performed,and different model simulations are compared.The model results suggest that a 30% change in shortwave radiation can change approximately 3% of the temperature inversion area in the Bay of Bengal.Low shortwave radiation reduces the net surface heat flux and cools the mixed layer substantially;it also reduces the evaporation rate,causing less evaporative water vapor losses from the ocean than the typical situation,and ultimately enhances haline stratification.Thus,the rudimentary outcome of this research is that a decrease in shortwave radiation produces more temperature inversion in the study region,which is primarily driven by the net surface cooling and supported by the intensive haline stratification.Moreover,low shortwave radiation eventually intensifies the temperature inversion layer by thickening the barrier layer.This study could be an important reference for predicting how the Indian Ocean climate will respond to future changes in shortwave radiation.

资源型企业高度依赖自然资源的消耗,具有高能耗、高污染、高排放的特点,加快绿色转型是经济社会高质量发展的客观要求。论文以地方政府和公众作为外部刚性与柔性约束的动力来源,同时考虑资源型企业“犹豫不决”的绿色转型内生动力,基于有限理性假设,构建地方政府、公众与资源型企业三方演化博弈模型,并以辽宁省大连市为例进行数值仿真实证分析,以期明晰地方政府、公众与资源型企业在推动绿色转型过程中的动力来源、作用机制与稳定策略。研究结果表明:(1)外部动力方面,地方政府的奖惩力度和监管强度以及公众监督与绿色消费偏好都能推动资源型企业绿色转型;(2)内生动力方面,经济效益和竞争优势的获取能够推动资源型企业绿色转型;(3)协同动力方面,资源型企业期望持续发展的内生动力与地方政府、公众行为加强后形成的外部合力能够共同推动资源型企业绿色转型;(4)大连市资源型企业绿色转型现状是地方政府严格监管、公众积极监督、资源型企业尚未实现整体自主绿色转型。研究结论与政策建议有助于为资源型企业绿色转型提供理论与实践支撑,推动资源型企业探寻发展与环境保护的双赢路径。

为实现牵引电机定子绕组匝间短路故障诊断,提出一种基于一维卷积神经网络(one-dimensional convolutional neural network, 1D-CNN)的故障诊断方法。首先对电机健康状态、不同相发生匝间短路故障及不同故障严重程度下的定子电流进行三层小波分解,得到小波分解高频系数和低频系数;求取小波分解系数的二范数,作为电机电流的特征;设计并训练1D-CNN,将训练好的1D-CNN作为分类器,实现牵引电机定子绕组匝间短路故障“端到端”的智能诊断。设计并搭建异步电机定子绕组匝间短路故障诊断实验平台。实验结果表明:所提方法可以准确有效诊断出轻微的匝间短路故障。在闭环控制下,电机发生1匝短路故障时,诊断正确率达到90.5%,并能够有效区分故障相。

元胞自动机-马尔科夫耦合模型(CA-Markov模型)作为土地利用变化(LUCC)的一种研究手段,具有马尔科夫模型精确地模拟LUCC未来变化情况,同时还具有元胞自动机模型模拟复杂系统空间变化的能力。本研究运用CA-Markov模型,以分区预测为原则,对胶州湾国家海洋公园沿岸地区过去十年的土地利用构成及变化进行分析,同时对研究区未来三十年的土地利用变化进行中期预测和长期预测。结果表明:胶州湾国家海洋公园沿岸地区建设用地面积在过去十年增大,而在未来三十年将不断减小;模型的预测精度将随预测时长的增加而下降,需要根据其他因素对模拟结果进行一定程度的修正;未来土地利用方式的转变将为国家级海洋公园的生态保护和海洋生态文明建设起到积极推动作用。

太阳能光伏发电发展迅速,2022年全球光伏发电累计装机量已突破1000 GW。随着光伏装机量不断攀升,光伏组件大规模退役潮将来临。针对废旧晶硅光伏组件,分析了光伏组件的回收路径,对比了光伏板层压件解离和组分提取技术。(1)层压件解离:加热处理能耗较高且产生有害气体;有机溶剂浸泡产生大量废液,反应周期较长;绿色溶剂耦合加热可以提高电池片完整回收率,具有节能降耗的特点。(2)组分提取:机械破碎-分选产生大量粉尘和噪声污染,整体回收率偏低;酸碱溶剂蚀刻废液难以处理,易造成二次污染。针对常规废旧晶硅光伏组件回收方法中存在的各种问题,提出了DES低共熔溶剂和焦耳加热等新型废旧晶硅光伏板资源化回收技术及未来发展方向,并与常规晶硅光伏组件回收方法进行对比。
