The high content of cyanogenic glycosides (CG) in cassava tubers affects food safety. CG are involved in the plant growth and development and protect cassava leaves from herbivorous predators. However, the regulatory mechanism of CG biosynthesis remains poorly understood. Here, yeast one-hybrid assays were performed using a mixed cDNA library of cassava tubers and leaves as prey and the promoter of MeCYP79D2 as bait. MeCYP79D2, a cytochrome P450 protein, is the rate-limiting enzyme for CG synthesis in cassava. From this information, a candidate regulator of MeCYP79D2 was selected and identified as transcription factor MePHD1.2. MePHD1.2, located in the nucleus and exhibiting an inhibitory transcription activity directly bound to an AT-rich motif in the promoter of MeCYP79D2. In cassava, the transcriptional activity of MeCYP79D2 was considerably enhanced in mephd1.2 mutant lines leading to increased linamarin and lotaustralin contents. Deletion of MePHD1.2 promoted the production of CGs in cassava and decreased transcription inhibition on MeCYP79D2, exposing a novel regulatory module governing biosynthesis of CGs. © 2024 Crop Science Society of China and Institute of Crop Science, CAAS

冷却速率对ADC12合金凝固组织与性能的影响

通过定向凝固试验研究了冷却速度对ADC12铝合金凝固组织演变及力学性能的影响。结果表明,随着冷却速率增加,ADC12铝合金组织的枝晶间距呈减小趋势且晶粒取向趋于一致,当冷却速率≥1.5℃/s时,枝晶间距减小趋势明显减缓。冷却速率为15.5℃/s时,横截面枝晶臂间距为18.28μm,纵截面枝晶臂间距为18.14μm。晶粒细化有助于提升合金的力学性能和硬度,冷却速率为15.5℃/s时,ADC12铝合金的抗拉强度、伸长率和显微硬度(HV)分别达到280.89 MPa、1.76%和98.35。SEM结果显示,ADC12铝合金断口随着枝晶间距减小由脆性断裂向韧性/脆性混合断裂转变,合金断口韧窝增多。

Microstructures and Properties of NiCrBSi/WC Biomimetic Coatings Prepared by Plasma Spray Welding

The NiCrBSi/WC biomimetic coatings were prepared on the low carbon steel substrate by plasma spray welding with mixed powders （WC-Col2＋NiCrBSi） based on the bionic principles, and the coating characteristics were investigated. The results indicate that the coatings have a full metallurgical bond in coating/substrate interface, and consist mainly ofy-Ni, WC, Cr23C6, Cr7C3, Ni3Si, CrsB3, and FeNi3 phases. The powder composition influences the microstructures and properties of the coatings. The WC content and the hardness of coatings increase with the mass fraction of WC-Co 12 powder. The biomimetic coatings have much higher wear resistance compared with the low carbon steel, which is attributed to the combination of hard WC and chromium carbide particles （bionic units） and soft y-Ni matrix in the coatings. It is favorable to prepare the biomimetic coating by plasma spray welding with the mixed powders （20wt%WC-Col2＋80wt%NiCrBSi） for improving the wear resis- tance of the coating.

Corrosion Behavior of Pre-oxidized GH4169 Alloy with Solid NaCI Deposited in a Wet Oxygen Flow at 600 ℃

The corrosion behavior of the pre-oxidized GH4169 alloy was studied after 20 h of exposure under a solid NaCl deposit film in a wet O_(2) environment at 600℃ by mass-gain measurements,X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,transmission electron microscopy *** results indicate that the pre-oxidized GH4169 alloy undergoes serious corrosion in the corrosive *** preformed Cr_(2)O_(3) layer is gradually destroyed by deposit NaCl,and the inner Nb2O5 layer beneath the complete outer Cr_(2)O_(3) layer also reacts with NaCl to form NaNbO_(3).The electrochemical test results testified the existence of electrochemical reactions during this corrosion *** corrosion behavior of pre-oxidized GH4169 under a solid NaCl deposit film in a wet O_(2) environment at 600℃has been discussed in detail.

The poor corrosion resistance restricts the industrial applications of nanocrystalline soft magnetic Fe-Zr-B *** reported a facile plasma-nitriding surface process to enhance the corrosion resistance of a nanocrystalline Fe90 Zr7 B3 alloy without deteriorating its soft magnetic *** po-larization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy were performed to investigate the corrosion *** nitrided alloy shows higher corrosion resistance than the untreated alloy,as evidenced by a nobler corrosion potential,lower corrosion current and higher polarization resistance of surface corrosion film,while their magnetic properties are *** microstructures of both nanocrystalline alloys were examined by high-resolution transmission electron microscopy(HRTEM)and the compositions of their corrosion films analyzed by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).For the nitrided alloy,a more homo-geneous nanocrystalline structure developed in the surface nitrided layer containing corrosion-resistant nitride phases(Fe3 N and ZrN)provides a higher resistance against chloride ***,the ni-trided layer facilitates the formation of a more protective corrosion film with the increased ratios of Fe2+/Fe3+and O2−/OH−as well as higher enrichment of Zr-and B-oxides,while the N-species(NH4+and NO3−)formed in the corrosion film behave as good corrosion inhibitors and further enhance the film *** findings provide a simple strategy for the preparation of corrosion-resistant nanocrystalline soft magnetic alloys to satisfy a variety of engineering requirements.

Electrospinning Synthesis and Photoluminescence Properties of SnO2：xEu3＋ Nanofibers

NnO2：xEu3＋（x=O, 1%, 3%, 5%, molar fraction） fibers were synthesized by electrospinning technology. The size of the as-prepared fibers is relatively uniform and the average diameter is about 200 nm with a large draw ratio. The as-prepared Eu3＋ doped SnO2 nanofibers have a rutile structure and consist of crystallitc grains with an average size of about 10 nm. A slight red shift of the A1gand Bag vibration modes and an additional peak at 288 nm were observed in the Raman spectra of the nanofibers. The energies of bandgaps of the SnO2 nanofiber with Eu doping of 1% and 3% are 2.64 eV, and the energy of bandgap is 2.94 eV with Eu doping of 5%（molar fraction）. There is only orange emission（5D0→7F1 magnetic dipole transition） for Eu doped SnO2 nanofibers, and no red emission could be observed. The orange emission upon indirect excitation splits into three peaks and the peak intensity at the excitation wavelength of 275 nm is higher than that at the excitation wavelength of 488 nm.

Cobalt single atoms supported on monolithic carbon with a hollow-on-hollow architecture for efficient transfer hydrogenations

Single-atom catalysts(SACs)have received considerable attention in hydrogenation of nitroaromatic compounds to aromatic *** order to enhance the exposure of single atoms and overcome the mass transfer limitation,construction of hierarchical porous supports for single atoms is highly ***,we report a straightforward method to synthesize Co single-atoms supported on a hollow-on-hollow structured carbon monolith(Co_(1)/HOHC-M)by pyrolysis ofα-cellulose monolith loaded with PS-core@ZnCo-zeolite imidazolate frameworks-shell nanospheres(PS@Zn-ZIFs/α-cellulose).The hollow-on-hollow structure consists of a large hollow void with a diameter of~290 nm(derived from the decomposition of polystyrene(PS)nanospheres)and a thin shell with hollow spherical pores with a diameter of~10 nm(derived from the evaporation of ZnO nanoparticles that are in-situ formed during pyrolysis in the presence of CO_(2)fromα-cellulose decomposition).Benefitting from the hierarchically porous architecture,the Co_(1)/HOHC-M exhibits excellent catalytic performance(reaction rate of 421.6 mmol·gCo^(-1)·h^(−1))in the transfer hydrogenation of nitrobenzene to aniline,outperforming the powdered sample of Co_(1)/HCS without the hollow spherical mesopores(reaction rate of 353.8 mmol·gCo^(-1)·h^(−1)).It is expected that this strategy could be well extended in heterogeneous catalysis,given the wide applications of porous carbon-supported single-atom catalysts.

Leopoldamys edwardsi is a species with wide distribution ranges in southern China but is not discussed in studies on geographic variation and species *** used 2 mitochondrial(Cytb,CO1)and 3 nuclear(GHR,IRBP and RAG1)genes to clarify species phylogeography and geographical *** likelihood(ML)and Bayesian phylogenetic inference(BI)trees consistently indicated that *** is a species complex containing 3 main lineages with high Kimura-2-parameter(K2P)divergences(*** LN,LS and LHN)found in the northern and southern China and Hainan Island,*** 3 species delimitation methods,automated barcoding gap discovery,Bayesian poisson tree process analysis and Bayesian phylogenetics and phylogeography,consistently supported the existence of cryptic *** times among the main lineages were inferred to be during the Pleistocene,with LHN/LS split at 1.33 Ma and LN/(LHN+LS)at 2.61 Ma;the diversifications of *** complex might be caused by the rapid uplifts of Tibetan Plateau,paleoclimate change and complex *** divergence between LHN and LS was probably related to the separation of Hainan Island from the mainland via the formation of the Qiongzhou *** LN and(LS+LHN)likely diverged due to the Wuyi-Nanling mountain range forming a dispersal *** results suggested that *** complex contains at least 3 distinct species:LHN represents ***,endemic to Hainan Island and previously considered as a subspecies ***;LS represents a cryptic species distributed throughout the southern Chinese continent;and LN represents the nominotypical species ***.

S-1805/Ag/Au Hybrid Transparent Electrodes for ITO-free Flexible Organic Photovoltaics

We fabricated an S-1805/Ag/Au hybrid transparent electrode based on 4.4 lini ultrathin Au film, which exhibited a high transparency(T=78% at 550 nm), a low sheet resistance(Rs=70Ωl/sq), and an extremely smooth surface(roughness=0.37 nm). The three-dimensional(3D) island growth mode of 4.4 nm Au film was resisted by tlie chemical bonding effect of the nonconductive S-1805 film and the wetting behavior of 0.6 nm Ag layer. The S-1805/Ag/Au hybrid transparent electrodes were used as the replacement of ITO anodes in flexible organic photovoltaics(OPVs), and the S-1805/Ag/Au-based OP Vs resulted in the similar power conversion efficiency compared to ITO-based devices. High flexibility and mechanical robustness were demonstrated in the ITO-free OPVs without obvious degeneration in device performance after over 2000 repeated bending cycles.
