Intelligent prediction of slope stability based on visual exploratory data analysis of 77 in situ cases

Slope stability prediction research is a complex non-linear system problem.In carrying out slope stability prediction work,it often encounters low accuracy of prediction models and blind data preprocessing.Based on 77 field cases,5 quantitative indicators are selected to improve the accuracy of prediction models for slope stability.These indicators include slope angle,slope height,internal friction angle,cohesion and unit weight of rock and soil.Potential data aggregation in the prediction of slope stability is analyzed and visualized based on Six-dimension reduction methods,namely principal components analysis(PCA),Kernel PCA,factor analysis(FA),independent component analysis(ICA),non-negative matrix factorization(NMF)and t-SNE(stochastic neighbor embedding).Combined with classic machine learning methods,7 prediction models for slope stability are established and their reliabilities are examined by random cross validation.Besides,the significance of each indicator in the prediction of slope stability is discussed using the coefficient of variation method.The research results show that dimension reduction is unnecessary for the data processing of prediction models established in this paper of slope stability.Random forest(RF),support vector machine(SVM)and k-nearest neighbour(KNN)achieve the best prediction accuracy,which is higher than 90%.The decision tree(DT)has better accuracy which is 86%.The most important factor influencing slope stability is slope height,while unit weight of rock and soil is the least significant.RF and SVM models have the best accuracy and superiority in slope stability prediction.The results provide a new approach toward slope stability prediction in geotechnical engineering.

Matrix-valued distributed stochastic optimization with constraints

In this paper,we address matrix-valued distributed stochastic optimization with inequality and equality constraints,where the objective function is a sum of multiple matrix-valued functions with stochastic variables and the considered problems are solved in a distributed manner.A penalty method is derived to deal with the constraints,and a selection principle is proposed for choosing feasible penalty functions and penalty gains.A distributed optimization algorithm based on the gossip model is developed for solving the stochastic optimization problem,and its convergence to the optimal solution is analyzed rigorously.Two numerical examples are given to demonstrate the viability of the main results.

Interannual variability of eddy kinetic energy in the South China Sea related to two types of winter circulation events

Interannual variations of the eddy kinetic energy(EKE)related to two types of winter circulation events(“O”and“U”)were investigated based on the outputs of the Ocean General Circulation Model(OGCM)for the Earth Simulator(OFES)and the corresponding energetic analyses.Results show that the EKE is strong and extends eastward to offshore the Vietnam coast about 2°,associated with the weaker South China Sea western boundary current(SCSwbc)in“O”type years,while the EKE is weak and high value that can be attained is narrowed along the coast,associated with the stronger SCSwbc in“U”type years.The energy budget shows that the wind stress and barotropic/baroclinic instability are important factors to regulate the EKE in“U”and“O”years.For“U”years,under a strong winter monsoon forcing,the SCSwbc strengthen,the directly wind work and barotropic conversion from the mean kinetic energy(MKE)to EKE are weak,thus the EKE decrease corresponding to the baroclinic conversion from the kinetic energy to potential energy.However,the situation is reversed in“O”years.Under the influence of El Niño events,wind stress forces can weaken SCSwbc and enhance EKE in pattern“O”,whereas La Niña events have relatively weaker influences.The barotropic conversion rate in“O”type is nearly eight times of the“U”type.The pressure work and advection term are the main sources to greatly suppress EKE in the SCSwbc region.

Using Event-Based Method to Estimate Cybersecurity Equilibrium

Estimating the global state of a networked system is an important problem in many application domains.The classical approach to tackling this problem is the periodic(observation)method,which is inefficient because it often observes states at a very high frequency.This inefficiency has motivated the idea of event-based method,which leverages the evolution dynamics in question and makes observations only when some rules are triggered(i.e.,only when certain conditions hold).This paper initiates the investigation of using the event-based method to estimate the equilibrium in the new application domain of cybersecurity,where equilibrium is an important metric that has no closed-form solutions.More specifically,the paper presents an event-based method for estimating cybersecurity equilibrium in the preventive and reactive cyber defense dynamics,which has been proven globally convergent.The presented study proves that the estimated equilibrium from our trigger rule i)indeed converges to the equilibrium of the dynamics and ii)is Zeno-free,which assures the usefulness of the event-based method.Numerical examples show that the event-based method can reduce 98%of the observation cost incurred by the periodic method.In order to use the event-based method in practice,this paper investigates how to bridge the gap between i)the continuous state in the dynamics model,which is dubbed probability-state because it measures the probability that a node is in the secure or compromised state,and ii)the discrete state that is often encountered in practice,dubbed sample-state because it is sampled from some nodes.This bridge may be of independent value because probability-state models have been widely used to approximate exponentially-many discrete state systems.

为研究寒区受荷裂隙岩石的破裂机制,以多裂隙砂岩作为研究对象,开展冻融循环试验和单轴压缩试验.引入能量特征参数,定量研究不同冻融循环次数下多裂隙试件和完整试件的能量转化特征.而后,基于损伤统计理论和应变等效原理,建立冻融裂隙岩石受荷损伤模型,探讨岩石损伤特性与能量转化之间的相关性.研究表明,冻融前后多裂隙砂岩试件的破坏模式均为拉剪混合破坏,试件的强度和弹性模量与冻融循环次数之间均呈指数衰减关系.多裂隙试件和完整试件的储能极限及应变能峰后转化率随着冻融循环次数的增加而不断减小,而相同冻融循环次数下多裂隙试件的能量特征指标均小于完整试件,说明冻融循环作用和多裂隙减缓了变形破裂过程中的能量释放.砂岩试件的峰值应力点损伤值与冻融循环次数之间服从指数增长函数,而多裂隙试件的损伤值大于相应工况下的完整试件,这是因为多裂隙加剧了岩石冻融损伤.数据拟合进一步验证了峰值应力点损伤值与应变能峰后转化率之间呈高度负相关关系,即岩石冻融损伤程度越高,峰后能量转化越弱.

Malnutrition as a predictor of prolonged length of hospital stay in patients with gynecologic malignancy: A comparative analysis

Objective To explore the consistency of the Patient-generated Subjective Global Assessment(PG-SGA)and Nutritional Risk Screening-2002(NRS-2002)for nutritional evaluation of patients with gynecologic malignancy and their predictive effect on the length of hospital stay(LOS).Methods We recruited 147 hospitalized patients with gynecologic malignancy from Nanfang Hospital in 2017.Their nutritional status was assessed using the PG-SGA and NRS-2002.The consistency between the two assessments was compared via the Kappa test.The relationship between malnutrition and LOS was analyzed using crosstabs and Spearman’s correlation.Results The PG-SGA demonstrated that 66.7%and 54.4%of patients scoring≥2 and≥4 were malnourished,respectively.Furthermore,the NRS-2002 indicated that 55.8%of patients were at nutritional risk.Patients with ovarian cancer had a relatively high incidence of malnutrition.However,this was only significant for patients who scored≥4 in the PG-SGA(P=0.001 and P=0.019 for endometrial carcinoma and cervical cancer,respectively).The PG-SGA and NRS-2002 showed good consistency in evaluating the nutritional status of patients with gynecologic malignancy(0.689,0.643 for PG-SGA score≥2,score≥4 and NRS-2002,respectively).Both the scores of PG-SGA and NRS-2002 were positively correlated with LOS.Furthermore,prolonged LOS was higher in patients with malnutrition than in those with adequate nutrition.Conclusion The PG-SGA and NRS-2002 shared a good consistency in evaluating the nutritional status of patients with gynecologic malignancy.Both assessments could be used as predictors of LOS.

Dynamical behaviors of recurrently connected neural networks and linearly coupled networks with discontinuous right-hand sides

The aim of this paper is to provide a sys- tematic review on the framework to analyze dynamics in recurrently connected neural networks with discontinu- ous right-hand sides with a focus on the authors＇ works in the past three years. The concept of the Filippov so- lution is employed to define the solution of the neural network systems by transforming them to differential in- clusions. The theory of viability provides a tool to study the existence and uniqueness of the solution and the Lya- punov function （functional） approach is used to investi- gate the global stability and synchronization. More pre- cisely, we prove that the diagonal-dominant conditions guarantee the existence, uniqueness, and stability of a general class of integro-differential equations with （al- most） periodic self-inhibitions, interconnection weights, inputs, and delays. This model is rather general and in- cludes the well-known Hopfield neural networks, Cohen- Grossberg neural networks, and cellular neural networks as special cases. We extend the absolute stability anal- ysis of gradient-like neural network model by relaxing the analytic constraints so that they can be employed to solve optimization problem with non-smooth cost func- tions. Furthermore, we study the global synchronization problem of a class of linearly coupled neural network with discontinuous right-hand sides.

The CRL3^(BTBD9) E3 ubiquitin ligase complex targets TNFAIP1 for degradation to suppress cancer cell migration

Tumor necrosis factor alpha-induced protein 1(TNFAIP1)modulates a plethora of important biological processes,including tumorigenesis and cancer cell migration.However,the regulatory mechanism of TNFAIP1 degradation remains largely elusive.In the present study,with a label-free quantitative proteomic approach,TNFAIP1 was identified as a novel ubiquitin target of the Cullin-RING E3 ubiquitin ligase(CRL)complex.More importantly,Cul3-ROC1(CRL3),a subfamily of CRLs,was identified to specifically interact with TNFAIP1 and promote its polyubiquitination and degradation.Mechanistically,BTBD9,a specific adaptor component of CRL3 complex,was further defined to bind and promote the ubiquitination and degradation of TNFAIP1 in cells.As such,downregulation of BTBD9 promoted lung cancer cell migration by upregulating the expression of TNFAIP1,whereas TNFAIP1 deletion abrogated this effect.Finally,bioinformatics and clinical sample analyses revealed that BTBD9 was downregulated while TNFAIP1 was overexpressed in human lung cancer,which was associated with poor overall survival of patients.Taken together,these findings reveal a previously unrecognized mechanism by which the CRL3^(BTBD9) ubiquitin ligase controls TNFAIP1 degradation to regulate cancer cell migration.

轮状病毒(RV)腹泻发病过程中核转录因子E2相关因子(Nrf2)/血红素加氧-1(HO-1)通路受到抑制,四神丸在溃疡性结肠炎的治疗中对Nrf2/HO-1通路具有激活作用,为了研究四神丸在RV腹泻中的治疗作用及机制,本研究观察了四神丸调控Nrf2/HO-1通路保护RV腹泻小鼠肠道损伤的作用及机制。将雄性BALB/c小鼠随机分为对照组、RV腹泻组、四神丸组、四神丸+ML385组,采用RV病毒液单次灌胃的方法建立RV腹泻模型,给予四神丸4.2g/kg灌胃、1次/d或Nrf2抑制剂ML385 30mg/kg腹腔注射、1次/d进行干预,连续3d。检测粪便中RV VP6基因拷贝数,血清中白介素(IL)-1β、IL-6、肿瘤坏死因子-α(TNF-α)、丙二醛(MDA)及总抗氧化力(T-AOC)的含量,回肠粘膜绒毛高度、隐窝深度、活性氧簇(ROS)水平、细胞凋亡率及Occludin、ZO-1、Nrf2、HO-1表达水平。结果显示,RV腹泻组粪便中RV VP6基因拷贝数、血清中IL-1β、IL-6、TNF-α、MDA含量及回肠粘膜隐窝深度、ROS水平、细胞凋亡率均高于对照组,血清T-AOC含量、回肠粘膜绒毛高度及Occludin、ZO-1、Nrf2、HO-1表达水平均低于对照组(P0.05),血清中IL-1β、IL-6、TNF-α、MDA含量及回肠粘膜隐窝深度、ROS水平、细胞凋亡率均低于RV腹泻组,血清T-AOC含量、回肠粘膜绒毛高度及Occludin、ZO-1、Nrf2、HO-1表达水平均高于RV腹泻组(P0.05),血清中IL-1β、IL-6、TNF-α、MDA含量及回肠粘膜隐窝深度、ROS水平、细胞凋亡率均高于四神丸组,血清T-AOC含量、回肠粘膜绒毛高度及Occludin、ZO-1、Nrf2、HO-1表达水平均低于四神丸组(P<0.05)。以上结果表明四神丸对RV腹泻小鼠的回肠绒毛结构及黏膜屏障具有保护作用,激活Nrf2/HO-1通路并减轻氧化应激、炎症反应及细胞凋亡是相关的分子机制。本研究的创新点以回肠绒毛结构及黏膜屏障损伤切入点观察了四神丸在RV腹泻中的治疗价值,发现四神丸通过激活Nrf2/HO-1通路减轻RV腹泻小鼠的炎症反应、氧化应激及细胞凋亡,这为今后深入认识RV腹泻的病理生理机制、发现RV腹泻新的治疗手段提供了实验依据。

目的探讨头位难产的原因及临床特点和处理方法。方法回顾性分析在我院住院分娩发生头位难产的356例孕产妇的临床资料。结果 356例头位难产者中胎位异常278例,产道异常33例,产力异常者45例,其中胎位异常最为常见(P<0.05);分娩方式分类:剖宫产占69.38%、阴道分娩占30.62%,发生围生期母婴不良事件84例,占23.60%。结论头位难产会给产妇和胎儿造成很多的危险因素,早期诊断、恰当处理、选择合理的分娩方式是改善妊娠结局的关键。
