Long-term temperature variations inferred from high-resolution proxies provide an important context to evaluate the intensity of current ***,tem-perature reconstructions in humid southeastern China are scarce and particularly lack long-term data,limiting us to obtain a complete picture of regional temperature *** this study,we present a well-verified reconstruction of winter-spring(January–April)minimum temperatures over southeastern China based on stable carbon isotopic(δ^(13.C)records of tree rings from Taxus wallichiana *** from 1860 to *** reconstruction accounted for 56.4%of the total observed *** periods occurred during the 1860s–1910s and 1960s–*** temperatures have had an upward trend since the 1920s,most of the cold extremes were in recent *** El Niño-Southern Oscillation(ENSO)variance acted as a key modulator of regional winter-spring minimum temperature ***,teleconnections between them were a nonlinear process,i.e.,a reduced or enhanced ENSO variance may result in a weakened or intensified temperature-ENSO relationship.

AIM:To investigate the symmetry of upper eyelid in patients with unilateral mild and moderate blepharoptosis who underwent unilateral minimally invasive combined fascia sheath(CFS)***:A retrospective study of patients who underwent unilateral minimally invasive CFS suspension surgery between January 2018 and December *** criteria included unilateral mild and moderate ptosis,good levator muscle function(>9 mm)and follow-up of at least ***-and post-operative symmetry was graded subjectively for marginal reflex distance 1(MRD1),tarsal platform show(TPS)and eyebrow fat span(BFS).A t-test was used to evaluate MRD1,TPS and BFS asymmetry by calculating delta *** Bézier curve tool of the Image J software was used to extract the upper eyelid contours,where the symmetry was measured by the percentage of overlapping curvatures(POC).RESULTS:Totally 105 patients(105 eyelids)were included(mild group,n=84;moderate group,n=21).Postoperatively,all patients increased MRD1 and decreased TPS in the ptotic eye while maintaining unchanged *** asymmetric delta value for MRD1 was measured to be 1.48±0.86 preoperatively,and it decreased to 0.58±0.67 postoperatively in all cases(P=0.0004).In patients with mild ptosis,the asymmetry value of TPS fell significantly from 1.15±0.62 to 0.68±0.3.(P=0.0187).The symmetry of the upper eyelid contour increased in all subgroups of patients,with a POC of 59.3.%±13.45%preoperatively and POC of 78.29%±13.80%***:Minimally invasive CFS suspension is proved to be an effective means of improving the symmetry of unilateral ptosis in terms of MRD1(all subgroups),POC(all subgroups)and TPS(only mild group),whereas BFS is unaffected.

Lysine content is a criterion of the nutritional quality of *** the process of lysine biosynthesis in early-flowering superior grain(SG)and late-flowering inferior grain(IG)of rice would advance breeding and cultivation to improve nutritional ***,little information is available on differences in lysine anabolism between SG and IG and the underlying mechanism,and whether and how irrigation regimes affect lysine anabolism in these grains.A japonica rice cultivar was grown in the field and two irrigation regimes,continuous flooding(CF)and wetting alternating with partial drying(WAPD),were imposed from heading to the mature *** content and activities of key enzymes of lysine biosynthesis,and levels of brassinosteroids(BRs)were lower in the IG than in the SG at the early grainfilling stage but higher at middle and late grain-filling *** increased activities of these key enzymes,BR levels,and contents of lysine and total amino acids in IG,but not SG relative to *** of 2,4-epibrassinolide to rice panicles in CF during early grain filling reproduced the effects of WAPD,but neither treatment altered the activities of enzymes responsible for lysine catabolism in either SG or *** and elevated BR levels during grain filling increased lysine biosynthesis in *** in lysine biosynthesis in rice should focus on IG.

The widespread implementation of supercapacitors is hindered by the limited energy density and the pricey porous carbon electrode *** cost of porous carbon is a significant factor in the overall cost of supercapacitors,therefore a high carbon yield could effectively mitigate the production cost of porous *** study proposes a method to produce porous carbon spheres through a spray drying technique combined with a carbonization process,utilizing renewable enzymatic hydrolysis lignin as the carbon source and KOH as the activation *** purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the quantity of activation agent and the development of morphology,pore structure,and specific surface area of the obtained porous carbon *** demonstrate that this approach significantly enhances the carbon yield of porous carbon,achieving a yield of 22%in contrast to the conventional carbonization-activation method(9%).The samples acquired through this method were found to contain a substantial amount of mesopores,with an average pore size of 1.59 to 1.85 nm and a mesopore ratio of 25.6%.Additionally,these samples showed high specific surface areas,ranging from 1051 to 183. m2·g^(−1).Zinc ion hybrid capacitors with lignin-derived porous carbon cathode exhibited a high capacitance of 279 F·g^(−1) at 0.1 A·g^(−1) and an energy density of 99.1 Wh·kg^(−1) when the power density was 80 kW·kg^(−1).This research presents a novel approach for producing porous carbons with high yield through the utilization of a spray drying approach.

Biomass-derived carbon materials for lithiumion batteries emerge as one of the most promising anodes from sustainable ***,improving the reversible capacity and cycling performance remains a long-standing *** combining the benefits of K2CO_(3. activation and KMnO_(4) hydrothermal treatment,this work proposes a two-step activation method to load MnO_(2) charge transfer onto biomass-derived carbon(KAC@MnO_(2)).Comprehensive analysis reveals that KAC@MnO_(2) has a micro-mesoporous coexistence structure and uniform surface distribution of MnO_(2),thus providing an improved electrochemical ***,KAC@MnO_(2) exhibits an initial chargedischarge capacity of 847.3.1813.2 mAh·g^(-1) at 0.2 A·g^(-1),which is significantly higher than that of direct pyrolysis carbon and K2CO_(3. activated carbon,***,the KAC@MnO_(2) maintains a reversible capacity of 652.6 mAh·g^(-1) after 100 *** at a high current density of 1.0 A·g^(-1),KAC@MnO_(2) still exhibits excellent long-term cycling stability and maintains a stable reversible capacity of 3.6.7 mAh·g^(-1) after 500 *** with reported biochar anode materials,the KAC@MnO_(2) prepared in this work shows superior reversible capacity and cycling ***,the Li+insertion and de-insertion mechanisms are verified by ex situ X-ray diffraction analysis during the chargedischarge process,helping us better understand the energy storage mechanism of KAC@MnO_(2).

To enhance the fire safety and wear resistance of epoxy,phosphorus-containing nickel phyllosilicate whiskers(FP-NiPS)were synthesized using a facile hydrothermal technology,with 9,10-dihydro-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene as the organic *** impacts of FP-NiPS on the thermal stability,flame retardancy,and mechanical and tribological properties of EP composites were *** findings demonstrated that 5 wt%FP-NiPS elevated the limiting oxygen index of the EP composite from 23.8%to 28.4%,achieving a V-0 rating during vertical burning ***-NiPS could enhance the thermal stability of epoxy resin(EP)and facilitate the development of a dense and continuous carbon layer,thereby significantly improving the fire safety of the EP *** FP-NiPS led to an 8.2%increase in the tensile strength and a 3..8%increase in the elastic modulus of the EP composite,showing outstanding mechanical ***,FP-NiPS showed remarkable potential in enhancing the wear resistance of *** wear rate of 1 wt%FP-NiPS is 2.3.×10^(−5) mm^(3.·N^(−1)·m^(−1),a decrease of 66.7%compared to *** work provides a novel promising modification method to enhance the fire safety,mechanical and wear resistance properties of EP.
