Snoring is a widespread occurrence that impacts human sleep quality.It is also one of the earliest symptoms of many sleep disorders.Snoring is accurately detected,making further screening and diagnosis of sleep problems easier.Snoring is frequently ignored because of its underrated and costly detection costs.As a result,this research offered an alternative method for snoring detection based on a long short-term memory based spiking neural network(LSTM-SNN) that is appropriate for large-scale home detection for snoring.We designed acquisition equipment to collect the sleep recordings of 54 subjects and constructed the sleep sound database in the home environment.And Mel frequency cepstral coefficients(MFCCs) were extracted from these sound signals and encoded into spike trains by a threshold encoding approach.They were classified automatically as non-snoring or snoring sounds by our LSTM-SNN model.We used the backpropagation algorithm based on an alternative gradient in the LSTM-SNN to complete the parameter update.The categorization percentage reached an impressive 93.4%,accompanied by a remarkable 36.9% reduction in computer power compared to the regular LSTM model.

The limitations of current drug-eluting stent technologies in selectively inhibiting vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation,which often leads to inflammation,call for innovative approaches in coronary artery disease treatment.In the present work,we propose a revolutionary solution:a three-in-one platform for vascular stents,combining arsenic trioxide(ATO)and tacrolimus(TAC)to address anti-proliferation,pro-endothelialization,and anti-inflammation aspects.Our findings demonstrate that the synergistic action of ATO and TAC effectively suppresses aberrant vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation and mitigates endothelial cell inflammation.Remarkably,the combination treatment of TAC/ATO enhances endothelial cell migration and adhesion abilities.Moreover,our TAC/ATO-eluting stent exhibits superior re-endothelialization and anti-restenosis effects in a rabbit and porcine stent implantation model.Both in vitro and in vivo results solidify the notion that the TAC/ATO-eluting stent ensures rapid re-endothelialization and significantly reduces the incidence of in-stent restenosis.Overall,this study represents a promising and novel multifunctional platform with immense potential in the therapy of coronary artery disease.

In the minimum degree vertex deletion problem,we are given a graph,a distinguished vertex in the graph,and an integer κ,and the question is whether we can delete at most κ vertices from the graph so that the distinguished vertex has the unique minimum degree.The maximum degree vertex deletion problem is defined analogously but here we want the distinguished vertex to have the unique maximum degree.It is known that both problems areΨ-hard and fixed-parameter intractable with respect to some natural parameters.In this paper,we study the(parameterized)complexity of these two problems restricted to split graphs,p-degenerate graphs,and planar graphs.Our study provides a comprehensive complexity landscape of the two problems restricted to these special graphs.

Although Bi_(2)Mo O_(6)(BMO) has recently received extensive attention, its visible-light photocatalytic activity remains poor due to its limited photoresponse range and low charge separation efficiency. In this work, a series of visible-light-driven Y^(3+)-doped BMO(Y-BMO) photocatalysts were synthesized via a hydrothermal method. Degradation experiments on Rhodamine B and Congo red organic pollutants revealed that the optimal degradation rates of Y-BMO were 4.3 and 5.3 times those of pure BMO, respectively. The degradation efficiency of Y-BMO did not significantly decrease after four cycle experiments. As a result of Y^(3+)doping, the crystal structure of BMO changed from a thick layer structure to a thin flower-like structure with an increased specific surface area. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy showed the presence of highintensity peaks for the O 1s orbital at 531.01 and 530.06 eV, confirming the formation of oxygen vacancies in Y-BMO. Photoluminescence(PL) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements revealed that the PL intensity and interface resistances of composites decreased significantly, indicating reduced electron–hole pair recombination. This work provides an effective way to prepare high-efficiency Bibased photocatalysts by doping rare earth metal ions for improved photocatalytic performance.

Exploring the natural diversity of functional genes/proteins from environmental DNA in high throughput remains challenging.In this study,we developed a sequence-based functional metagenomics procedure for mining the diversity of copper(Cu)resistance gene copA in global microbiomes,by combining the metagenomic assembly technology,local BLAST,evolutionary trace analysis(ETA),chemical synthesis,and conventional functional genomics.In total,87 metagenomes were collected from a public database and subjected to copA detection,resulting in 93,899 hits.Manual curation of 1214 hits of high confidence led to the retrieval of 517 unique CopA candidates,which were further subjected to ETA.Eventually,175 novel copA sequences of high quality were discovered.Phylogenetic analysis showed that almost all these putative CopA proteins were distantly related to known CopA proteins,with 55 sequences from totally unknown species.Ten novel and three known copA genes were chemically synthesized for further functional genomic tests using the Cu-sensitive Escherichia coli(DcopA).The growth test and Cu uptake determination showed that five novel clones had positive effects on host Cu resistance and uptake.One recombinant harboring copA-like 15(copAL15)successfully restored Cu resistance of the host with a substantially enhanced Cu uptake.Two novel copA genes were fused with the gfp gene and expressed in E.coli for microscopic observation.Imaging results showed that they were successfully expressed and their proteins were localized to the membrane.The results here greatly expand the diversity of known CopA proteins,and the sequence-based procedure developed overcomes biases in length,screening methods,and abundance of conventional functional metagenomics.

Cathode infiltration with enhanced catalytic activity and durability for intermediate-temperature solid oxide fuel cells

To lower the operation temperature and increase the durability of solid oxide fuel cells(SOFCs), increasing attentions have been paid on developing cathode materials with good oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)activity at intermediate-temperature(IT, 500-750 ℃) range. However, most cathode materials exhibit poor catalytic activity, or they thermally mismatch with SOFC electrolytes and undergo severe degeneration. Infiltrating catalysts on existing backbone materials has been proved to be an efficient method to construct highly active and durable cathodes. In this mini-review, the advantages of infiltration-based cathode compared with new material-based cathodes are summarized. The merits and drawbacks of different backbones are illustrated. Different types of catalysts for infiltration are depicted in detail. Suggestions on the material/structure optimization of the infiltrated cathodes of IT-SOFC are provided.

The gut microbiome is closely related to host nutrition and health.However,the relationships between gut microorganisms and host lifestyle are not well characterized.In the absence of confounding geographic variation,we defined clear patterns of variation in the gut microbiomes of Asian elephants(AEs)in the Wild Elephant Valley,Xishuangbanna,China,along a lifestyle gradient(completely captive,semicaptive,semiwild,and completely wild).A phylogenetic analysis using the 16S rRNA gene sequences highlighted that the microbial diversity decreased as the degree of captivity increased.Furthermore,the results showed that the bacterial taxon WCHB1-41_c was substantially affected by lifestyle variations.qRT-PCR analysis revealed a paucity of genes related to butyrate production in the gut microbiome of AEs with a completely wild lifestyle,which may be due to the increased unfavorable environmental factors.Overall,these results demonstrate the distinct gut microbiome characteristics among AEs with a gradient of lifestyles and provide a basis for designing strategies to improve the well-being or conservation of this important animal species.

Fixation of hybrid sterility genes and favorable alleles of key yield-related genes with dominance contribute to the high yield of the Yongyou series of intersubspecific hybrid rice

In rice,the Yongyou series of Xian-Geng intersubspecific hybrids have excellent production performance,as shown by their extremely high yield.However,the mechanisms underlying the success of these rice hybrids are unclear.In this study,three F2 populations are generated from three Yongyou hybrids to determine the genetic basis of the extremely high yield of intersubspecific hybrids.Genome constitution analysis reveals that the female and male parental lines belong to the Geng and Xian subspecies,respectively,although introgression of 20%of the Xian ancestry and 14%of the Geng ancestry are observed.Twenty-five percent of the hybrid genomes carries homozygous Xian or Geng fragments,which harbors hybrid sterility genes such as Sd,Sc,f5,and q S12 and favorable alleles of key yield-related genes,including NAL1,Ghd7,and Ghd8.None of the parents carries the S5+killer of the S5 killer-protector system.Compatible allele combinations of hybrid sterility genes ensure the fertility of these intersubspecific hybrids and overcome the bottleneck in applying intersubspecific hybrids.Additive effects of favorable alleles of yield-related genes fixed in both parents enhances midparent values.Many QTLs for yield and its key component spikelets per panicle shows dominance and the net positive dominant effects lead to heterosis.These factors result in an extremely high yield of the hybrids.These findings will aid in the development of new intersubspecific rice hybrids with diverse genetic backgrounds.

Many Internet of things application scenarios have the characteristics of limited hardware resources and limited energy supply,which are not suitable for traditional security technology.The security technology based on the physicalmechanism has attracted extensive attention.How to improve the key generation rate has always been one of the urgent problems to be solved in the security technology based on the physical mechanism.In this paper,superlattice technology is introduced to the security field of Internet of things,and a high-speed symmetric key generation scheme based on superlattice for Internet of things is proposed.In order to ensure the efficiency and privacy of data transmission,we also combine the superlattice symmetric key and compressive sensing technology to build a lightweight data transmission scheme that supports data compression and data encryption at the same time.Theoretical analysis and experimental evaluation results show that the proposed scheme is superior to the most closely related work.
