Self-supporting and hierarchically porous Ni_(x)Fe-S/NiFe_(2)O_(4) heterostructure as a bifunctional electrocatalyst for fluctuating overall water splitting

Stable non-noble metal bifunctional electrocatalysts are one of the challenges to the fluctuating overall water splitting driven by re-newable ***,a novel self-supporting hierarchically porous Ni_(x)Fe-S/NiFe_(2)O_(4) heterostructure as bifunctional electrocatalyst was constructed based on porous Ni-Fe electrodeposition on three-dimensional(3D)carbon fiber cloth,in situ oxidation,and chemical *** showed that the Ni_(x)Fe-S/NiFe_(2)O_(4) heterostructure with a large specific surface area exhibits good bifunctional activity and stability for both hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)because of the abundance of active sites,synergistic effect of the heterostructure,superhydrophilic surface,and stable,self-supporting *** results further confirmed that the Ni_(x)Fe-S phase in the heterostructure is transformed into metal oxides/hydroxides and Ni_(3)S_(2) during *** with the commercial 20wt%Pt/C||IrO_(2)-Ta_(2)O_(5) electrolyzer,the self-supporting Ni1/5Fe-S/NiFe_(2)O_(4)||Ni1/2Fe-S/NiFe_(2)O_(4) electrolyzer exhibits better stability and lower cell voltage in the fluctu-ating current density range of 10-500 mA/cm^(2).Particularly,the cell voltage of Ni1/5Fe-S/NiFe_(2)O_(4)||Ni1/2Fe-S/NiFe_(2)O_(4) is only approximately 3.91 V at an industrial current density of 500 mA/cm^(2),which is lower than that of the 20wt%Pt/C||IrO_(2)-Ta_(2)O_(5) electrolyzer(i.e.,approximately 4.79 V).This work provides a promising strategy to develop excellent bifunctional electrocatalysts for fluctuating overall water splitting.

Metal sulfides with high theoretical capacities are expected as promising cathode materials of Al batteries(AIBs). However, powdery active materials are mainly synthesized and loaded on current collector by insulating binder without capacity. Meanwhile, S as inert element in metal sulfides can not usually provide capacity. So, powdery metal sulfides only exhibit limiting practical capacity and poor cycling stability due to weak conductivity and low mass utilization. Herein, the novel self-supporting and dual-active Co-S nanosheets on carbon cloth (i.e. Co-S/CC) with hierarchically porous structure are constructed as cathode of AIBs. Co-S nanosheets are derived from ZIF-67 nanosheets on CC by a facile ligand replacement reaction. As a result, the binder-free Co-S/CC cathode with good conductivity delivers excellent initial discharge capacity of 383.4 m Ah g^(-1)(0.211 m Ah cm^(-2)) at current density of 200 m A g^(-1)and maintain reversible capacity of 156.9 m Ah g^(-1)(0.086 m Ah cm^(-2)) with Coulombic efficiency of 95.8% after 500 cycles,which are much higher than those of the traditional slurry-coating cathodes. Both Co and S as active elements in Co-S/CC contribute to capacity, which leads to a high mass utilization. This work provides a significant strategy for the construction of self-supporting metallic cathode for advanced high-energy density Al battery.

Pre-mRNA splicing is an essential procedure for gene transcription. Through the cutting of introns and exons, the DNA sequence can be decoded into different proteins related to different biological *** cutting boundaries are defined by the donor and acceptor splice sites. Characterizing the nucleotides patterns in detecting splice sites is sophisticated and challenges the conventional methods. Recently, the deep learning frame has been introduced in predicting splice sites and exhibits high performance. It extracts high dimension features from the DNA sequence automatically rather than infers the splice sites with prior knowledge of the relationships, dependencies, and characteristics of nucleotides in the DNA sequence. This paper proposes the Attention Splice model, a hybrid construction combined with multi-head self-attention, convolutional neural network, bidirectional long short-term memory *** performance of Attention Splice is evaluated on the Homo sapiens(Human) and Caenorhabditis Elegans(Worm) datasets. Our model outperforms state-of-the-art models in the classification of splice sites. To provide interpretability of Attention Splice models, we extract important positions and key motifs which could be essential for splice site detection through the attention learned by the model. Our result could offer novel insights into the underlying biological roles and molecular mechanisms of gene expression.

Interleukin-18 gene promoter polymorphisms are potential risk factors for ischemic cerebrovascular disease, and the –607C allele may increase ischemic stroke risk in the Han Chinese population. In the present study, we recruited 291 patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease from the Affiliated Hospital of Qingdao University Medical College, China, and 226 healthy controls. Both patients and controls were from the Han population in northern China. Immunoresonance scattering assays detected increased serum amyloid A protein, C-reactive protein, and interleukin-18 levels in ischemic cerebrovascular disease patients compared with healthy controls. Analysis of the –607C/A （rs1946518） polymorphism in the interleukin-18 gene promoter showed ischemic cerebrovascular disease patients exhibited increased frequencies of the CC genotype and C alleles than healthy controls. Genotype and allele frequencies of the interleukin-18 –137G/C （rs187238） polymorphism and the –13T/C （rs11024595） polymorphism in the 5＇-flanking region of serum amyloid A, showed no significant difference between the two groups. Multivariate logistic regression analysis on the interleukin-18 promoter A/C genetic locus, for correction of age, gender, history of smoking, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, hypercholesteremia, and an ischemic stroke family history, showed ischemic cerebrovascular disease risk in individuals without the A allele （C homozygotes） was 2.2-fold greater than in A allele carriers. Overall, our findings suggest that the –13T/C （rs11024595） polymorphism in the 5′-flanking region of serum amyloid A has no correlation with ischemic cerebrovascular disease, but the C allele of the –607C/A （rs1946518） polymorphism in the interleukin-18 promoter is a high-risk factor for ischemic cerebrovascular disease in the Han population of northern China. In addition, the A allele is likely a protective gene for ischemic cerebrovascular disease.

Colorectal cancer(CRC)poses signiﬁcant physical and psychological challenges that necessitate an exploration of factors inﬂuencing post-traumatic growth(PTG)for patient *** study aims to investigate the effects of positive psychological capital(PsyCap)and perceived stress on mediating the social support-PTG relation among 673 CRC *** support,positive PsyCap,perceived stress,and PTG were assessed through *** results indicated a direct prediction effect of social support on PTG(LICI=0.481,ULCI=0.644),with the direct effect being 59.5%.Both positive PsyCap and perceived stress exerted a mediating role in the correlation between social support and PTG,with the mediating effects occupying 29.4%(LICI=0.217,ULCI=0.343)and 5.7%(LICI=0.030,ULCI=0.082),*** PsyCap further had a chain mediating effect on perceived stress(LICI=0.031,ULCI=0.074),with the chain effect accounting for 5.4%.The total impact of social support on PTG was 100%(LICI=0.882,ULCI=1.008).This model underscores the pivotal role of social support in promoting PTG in CRC *** PsyCap serves as a crucial mediator in the social support-PTG link,with perceived stress playing a sequential mediating ***ﬁndings suggest that strengthening social support networks and cultivating positive PsyCap may reduce perceived stress and promote the development of PTG in CRC ***,intervention programs are recommended to improve the psychosocial well-being of CRC patients.

In this paper, we consider the shape identification problem of a body immersed in the incompressible fluid governed by Stokes-Oseen equations. Based on the domain derivative method, we derive the explicit representation of the derivative of solution with respect to the boundary. Then, according to the boundary parametrization technique, we propose a regularized Gauss-Newton algorithm for the shape inverse problem. Finally, numerical examples indicate that the iterative algorithm is feasible and effective for the practical purpose.

A reconfigurable intelligent surface(RIS)aided massive multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO)system is considered,where the base station employs a large antenna array with low-cost and low-power 1-bit analog-to-digital converters(ADCs).To compensate for the per-formance loss caused by the coarse quantization,oversampling is applied at the *** main challenge for the acquisition of cascaded channel state information in such a system is to handle the distortion caused by the 1-bit quantization and the sample correlation caused by *** this work,Bussgang decomposition is applied to deal with the coarse quantization,and a Markov chain is developed to char-acterize the banded structure of the oversampling *** approximate message-passing based algorithm is proposed for the estimation of the cascaded *** results demonstrate that our proposed 1-bit systems with oversampling can approach the 2-bit systems in terms of the mean square error performance while the former consumes much less power at the receiver.

This paper is concerned with the optimal design of an obstacle located in the viscous and incompressible fluid which is driven by the steady-state Oseen equations with thermal effects. The structure of shape gradient of the cost functional is derived by applying the differentiability of a minimax formulation involving a Lagrange functional with a space parametrization technique. A gradient type algorithm is employed to the shape optimization problem. Numerical examples indicate that our theory is useful for practical purpose and the proposed algorithm is feasible.
