Night ventilation is regarded as a promising cooling strategy by storing night cooling in the thermal mass of the ***,night ventilation performance in hot summer is restricted by the climatic *** this paper,we propose a new solution as the integration of wall-attached night ventilation(WANV)and phase change material wallboard(PCMW).The principle of the proposed system is to utilize the wall-attached jet ventilation to achieve forced convection and to adopt latent energy storage of PCMW to enlarge the energy storage density capabilities,and the coupling method is expected to improve the night ventilation *** experiments were conducted to evaluate the thermal performance of the hybrid system by evaluating indoor temperature history,thermal comfort time and cooling *** to the high thermal energy storage density capability of PCMW,it was found that the presence of PCMW has a negative influence on night cooling efficiency but still has a positive influence on the overall cooling *** proposed WANV combined with the PCMW system significantly increased the temperature decrease of room air and west wall inside surface during one hour's night ventilation by 94.97%and 67.74%,respectively,and reached an extension of 38.42%of indoor thermal comfort *** results highlight the potential of WANV integration of PCMW to improve the thermal performance of night ventilation.

With social development and economic enhancement,energy is facing significant worldwide demand,and fossil fuels are the prime energy sources for various energy systems over past ***,among fuel-consumed applications,power plants are the primary source of energy *** is a lot of waste heat and steam accompanied by the latent heat produced in the exhaust flue ***,the latent heat recovery from the flue gas plays an important role in increasing the efficiency of the system and saving *** recover the heat and mass in power plants,three primary methods are proposed to condense the vapor based on previous studies:(1)flue gas condensation technology,(2)liquid desiccant-based dehydration(LDD)technology and(3)membrane *** paper mainly reviews and summaries the indirect cooling technology in flue gas condensation *** numerical simulation and theory of flue gas condensation are *** heat exchanger types and conducted experiments are also *** performance of the indirect cooling technology is affected not only by its own configuration and design but also by the flue gas inlet temperature,velocity,water vapor mass fraction,*** major concerns and outlook of practical applications for further study are attributed to the heat exchanger size and cost,acid corrosion,ash accumulation in flue gas,etc.

Polyester Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic(Polyester GFRP),a thermosetting plastic comprised of glass fiber and polyester polymer compounds,is extensively utilized in high-speed *** its pyrolysis mechanism is crucial as it significantly influences the combustion characteristics and fire safety ***,kinetic research on polyester GFRP primarily focuses on employing the Coats-Redfern method to derive a theoretical kinetic ***,the pyrolysis process of polyester GFRP is complex and the aforementioned theoretical model fails to accurately describe the pyrolysis ***,this study seeks to utilize the Sestak and Berggren(SB) model as a methodological approach to reveal the complex reaction mechanism during the pyrolysis *** on thermogravimetric analysis,the entire pyrolysis process of polyester GFRP is divided into two primary ***,model-free methods are employed to ascertain the activation energy and pre-exponential *** results show that the fitted empirical models of the two main pyrolysis stages are f(α)=(1-α)^(1.47)[-ln(1-α)]^(1.50) and f(α)=(1-α)^(1.77)[-ln(1-α)]^(1.72),*** predicted results are in good agreement with experimental data under different heating rates,which indicates that the empirical model can sufficiently describe the pyrolysis process of polyester GFRP.

Fires in the railway trains are prone to cause large numbers of casualties,serious economic losses,and huge negative social *** railway train carriage is a special confined built environment,where the pyrolysis,combustion,and fire spread process are different from those fire accidents in open *** the fire characteristics of the railway train carriages is the key issue to determine the fire prevention and control ***,this paper attempts to assess and identify the characteristics of pyrolysis,combustion,and fire spread of railway trains based on the exising *** review documents the pyrolysis and combustion characteristics of single train material and the combustible module,summarizes the heat release rate(HRR)calculation methods and the HRR profile for different types of trains,as well as introduces the research progress in the flame spread and *** main gaps and issues to be solved in terms of the effects of train speed,altitudes,and application of new energy trains are further discussed.

Hydrogel is a smart material with a three-dimensional network structure and has been widely used in various fields due to its good biodegradability, biocompatibility, and modification. Photosensitive hydrogel is a smart hydrogel, and its amenability to remote, precise control, and flexible and convenient regulation of stimulating factors make it an ideal candidate for use in fields such as biological materials, drug carriers, and sensors. In this review, we discuss the structure, mechanisms, design principles,and bioapplications of photosensitive hydrogels as developed in recent years. Finally, their potential for development and potential future challenges are outlined.

The adaptation and diversity of animals to the extreme environments of the Qinghai–Tibet Plateau(QTP)are typical materials to study adaptive *** recently discovered jinchuan yak population has many individuals with multiple ***,little is known about this yak’s origin,evolution,and the genetic mechanisms that formed its unique multirib ***,we report a valuable population genome resource of the jinchuan yak by resequencing the whole genome of 150 *** genetic polymorphism and structure analysis reveal that jinchuan yak can be differentiated as a unique and original yak population among the domestic *** with geological change,the jinchuan yak’s evolutionary origin is speculated to be about 6290 years ago,which may be related to the unique geographical environment of the eastern edge of the QTP during this *** with other domestic yaks,this new population has 280 positively selected *** genes related to skeletal function hold a considerable and remarkable proportion,suggesting that the specific skeletal characteristics have been enhanced in the adaptive evolution of jinchuan yak in the extreme plateau *** genome-wide association study has revealed that TUBA8 and TUBA4A,the genes that regulate the cytoskeleton,are potential genes associated with the multirib *** findings provide a basis to further understand the generation mechanism of the adaptive evolution of this new population in high-altitude extreme environments and the multivertebrate trait of domestic animals.
