Effect of LiTFSI and LiFSI on Cycling Performance of Lithium Metal Batteries Using Thermoplastic Polyurethane/Halloysite Nanotubes Solid Electrolyte

All-solid-state lithium batteries(ASSLB) are promising candidates for next-generation energy storage ***,the large-scale commercial application of high energy density AS S LB with the polymer electrolyte still faces *** this study,a thin solid polymer composite electrolyte(SPCE) is prepared through a facile and cost-effective strategy with an infiltration of thermoplastic polyurethane(TPU),lithium salt(LiTFSI or LiFSI),and halloysite nanotubes(HNTs) in a porous framework of polyethylene separator(PE)(TPU-HNTs-LiTFSI-PE or TPU-HNTs-LiFSI-PE).The composition,electrochemical performance,and especially the effect of anions(TFSI-and FSI-) on cycling performance are *** results reveal that the flexible TPU-HNTs-LiTFSI-PE and TPU-HNTs-LiFSI-PE with a thickness of 34 μm exhibit wide electrochemical windows of 4.9 and 5.1 V(***+/Li) at 60℃,*** in FSI-tends to form more LiF and sulfur compounds at the interface between TPU-HNTs-LiFSI-PE and Li metal anode,thus enhancing the interfacial *** a result,cell composed of TPU-HNTs-LiFSI-PE exhibits a smaller increase in interfacial resistance of solid electrolyte interphase(SEI) with a distinct decrease in charge-transfer resistance during ***|Li symmetric cell with TPU-HNTs-LiFSI-PE could keep its stable overpotential profile for nearly 1300 h with a low hysteresis of approximately39 mV at a current density of 0.1 mA cm-2,while a sudden voltage rise with internal cell impedance-surge signals was observed within 600 h for cell composed of *** initial capacities of NCMITPU-HNTs-LiTFSIPEILi and NCMITPU-HNTs-LiFSI-PEILi cells were 149 and 114 mAh g-1,with capacity retention rates of 83.52% and89.99% after 300 cycles at 0.5 C,*** study provides a valuable guideline for designing flexible SPCE,which shows great application prospect in the practice of ASSLB.

Joint detection and combining schemes in MIMO-HARQ systems

This article mainly investigates the combining schemes for hybrid automatic retransmission request （HARQ） protocols in multiple-input multiple-output （MIMO） wireless communication systems. A novel scheme, which joins MIMO detection and HARQ combining, called mid-combining, is presented in this article. Based on the position of HARQ combining, we classify the HARQ combining schemes into three types, named pre-combining, mid-combining, and post-combining. The simulation results show that mid- combining can increase the system throughput for all SNRs.

Identification of genes associated with cotyledon senescence in upland cotton

In order to unravel the biochemical pathways and understand the molecular mechanisms involved in leaf senescence, suppression subtractive hybridization (SSH) was used to generate a cDNA library enriched for transcripts differentially expressed in developmental senescence cotyledons of upland cotton. After differential screening by membrane- based hybridization and subsequent confirmation by reverse Northern blot analysis, selected 678 clones were sequenced and analyzed. Sequencing of these cDNA fragments reveals that 216 of expressed se- quence tags (ESTs) represented unique genes. Of these 216 cDNAs, 151 clones (69.9%) show signifi- cant homologies to previously known genes, while the remaining 65 do not match any known sequences. 151 unique ESTs are assigned to twelve different categories based on their putative functions gener- ated by BLAST analysis. These SAG-encoded pro- teins are likely to participate in macromolecule deg- radation, nutrient recycling, detoxification of oxidative metabolites, and signaling and regulatory events. The expression pattern of selection of genes was confirmed using northern hybridization. Northern hybridization confirmed several distinct patterns, from expression at a very early stage to the terminal phase of the senescence syndrome. Clones encod- ing proteases and proteins involved in macromole- cule degradation and gluconeogenesis, as well as stress-related genes, are up regulated in senescence cotyledons.

Petrogenesis of the Neopro-terozoic bimodal volcanic rocks along the western margin of the Yangtze Block:New constraints from Hf isotopes and Fe/Mn ratios

High-precision major element and Hf isotope data are reported for the Neoproterozoic Suxiong volcanic rocks along the western margin of the Yangtze Block. These volcanic rocks have variable εHf(T) values and Fe/Mn ratios. The relatively primitive basalts have high Fe/Mn ratios and high Hf-Nd isotopic compositions, indicating that they were generated by partial melting of garnet clinopyroxene in mantle plume at high pressure. Thus, the Suxiong basalts are genetically related to the proposed Neoproterozoic super-plume. On the contrary, a few differentiated basalts have low Fe/Mn ratios and low Hf-Nd isotopic compositions. They are likely to experience assimilation-fractional crystallization process. The Suxiong rhyolites have consistent Hf and Nd model ages of 1.3―1.4 Ga. They are likely generated by shallow dehydration melting of pre-existing young arc igne-ous rocks associated with the basaltic underplating/intrusion in a continental rift.

Combination of CTLA4-FasL gene transfer and allogeneic bone marrow transplantation led to durable macrochimerism and donor-specific tolerance in mouse model

Mixed hemopoietic chimerism is capable of inducing donor specific tolerance, thus eliminating the chronic immunosuppressive therapy following organ trans- plantation. As yet no safe and effective tolerance protocol is available for clinical implementation. Here we describe an alternative nonmyeloablative based strategy of using a single injection of recombination adenovirus vector encoding CTLA4-FasL fusing gene and donor bone marrow cells to promote durable mixed macrochimerism (>20% on 140 d). Chimeras exhibited robust donor-specific tolerance, as evi- denced by acceptance of fully allogeneic skin grafts (the mean survival time (MST)>200 d) and rejection of third- party skin grafts in a normal manner (MST<10 d). In this model, the frequencies of helper T lymphocyte precursor (HTLp) and cytotoxic T lymphocyte precursor (CTLp) were greatly reduced on day 14 after transplantation, suggesting that CTLA4-FasL led to rapid systemic peripheral tolerance to facilitate the bone marrow engraftment, while both HTLp and CTLp remained at low level only in recipient mice with mixed chimerism on day 140 after transplantation, demon- strating that long-term skin grafts tolerance was associated with stable mixed chimerism, and central deletion of donor specific T cell may be the main mechanism for tolerance maintenance.

The development of data acquisition and processing application system for RF ion source

As the key ion source component of nuclear fusion auxiliary heating devices, the radio frequency （RF） ion source is developed and applied gradually to offer a source plasma with the advantages of ease of control and high reliability. In addition, it easily achieves long-pulse steady-state operation. During the process of the development and testing of the RF ion source, a lot of original experimental data will be generated. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a stable and reliable computer data acquisition and processing application system for realizing the functions of data acquisition, storage, access, and real-time monitoring. In this paper, the development of a data acquisition and processing application system for the RF ion source is presented. The hardware platform is based on the PXI system and the software is programmed on the LabVIEW development environment. The key technologies that are used for the implementation of this software programming mainly include the long-pulse data acquisition technology, multi- threading processing technology, transmission control communication protocol, and the Lempel-Ziv-Oberhumer data compression algorithm. Now, this design has been tested and applied on the RF ion source. The test results show that it can work reliably and steadily. With the help of this design, the stable plasma discharge data of the RF ion source are collected, stored, accessed, and monitored in real-time. It is shown that it has a very practical application significance for the RF experiments.

Expression and inhibitory activity analysis of a 25-kD Bowman-Birk protease inhibitor in rice

Rice Bowman-Birk inhibitors (RBBI), with one (8 kD) or two homologous domains (16 kD), were found to be effective trypsin inhibitors in vitro. In this study, we demonstrate that the 25-kD protein corresponding to the three-domain RBBI indeed ex- ists in rice in planta, and that the RBBIs are regulated by development and wounding. We also found by inhibitory activity assay that the 3:13 disulfide bond, but not the 4:5 disulfide bond, suppresses the tryp- sin-inhibitory activity, and the D3 domain of RBBI3-1 has no inhibitory activity against trypsin, chymotryp- sin, paparin or subtilisin. Mutation analyses showed that conversion from Lys to Leu or Tyr in the N-terminal P1 site in D1 domain did not create chy- motrypsin-inhibitory activity, suggesting that the structure of the reactive loop in D1 domain hinder the new inhibitory specificity at P1 site, and the chy- motrypsin-inhibitory activity might need the participa- tion of other structures, e.g. 3:13 disulfide bond.

An Insight of S-Nitrosylation of Human GIF

Neural growth inhibitory factor （GIF）, a member of metallothionein family （metallothionein-3, MT3）, was well known by its distinct neural growth inhibitory activity, which is not shown by other MT isoforms. However, till now, people still did not know clearly how GIF exerts its biological functions. Since it has been reported that GIF might serve as NO scavenger and was related to the release of zinc, our study was focused on the interaction of GIF and NO. By studying the reactions of human GIF and human MTlg with SNOC-a type of NO donor, it was found that GIF was more reactive than MT-lg toward SNOC. In order to further figure out if the high reactivity of GIF in this reaction resulted from the acid-base catalysis, several mutants were constructed： E23K, E41G/E43A, E23K/E41G/E43A. By studying their basic properties and the reactions toward SNOC, it was found that the S-nitrosylation of GIF was not only related to the acid-base catalysis, but also to the accessibility of metal-thiolate clusters.
