A cleaner production strategy for acid mine drainage prevention of waste rock:A porphyry copper case

An in-process technology approach is proposed to identify the source of acid mine drainage(AMD)generation and prevent its formation in a porphyry copper waste rock(WR).Adopting actions before stockpil.ng the WR enables the establishment of potential contaminants and predicts the more convenient method for AMD prevention.A WR sample was separated into size fractions,and the WR’s net acidgenerating potential was quantified using chemical and mineralogical *** diameter of physical locking of sulfides(DPlS)was determined,and the fractions below the DPlS were desulfurized using ***,the WR fractions and tail.ng from the flotation test were submitted to acid-base accounting and weathering tests to evaluate their acid-generating *** show that the WR’s main sulfide mineral is pyrite,and the DPlS was defined as 850μm.A sulfide recovery of 91%was achieved using a combination of HydroFloat^(®)and Denver cells for a size fraction lower than *** grinding was *** results show that size fractions greater than DPlS and the desulfurized WR are unlikely to produce *** outcomes show that in-processing technology can be a more proactive approach and an effective tool for avoiding AMD in a porphyry copper WR.

Adsorption of pharmaceutical pollutants on ZnCl_(2)-activated biochar from corn cob:Efficiency,selectivity and mechanism

Purpose: The primary aim of this paper is to design, create, and improve functional and artificial Bruch’s membranes (BM) using bioengineering techniques, which can be applied in the treatment of maculopathies by supporting the growth and maintenance of retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) cells, thereby potentially enabl.ng subretinal impl.ntation in patients. Methods: We fabricated by electrospinning ultrathin 3D nanofibrous membranes from Polycaprolactone (PCl), and different concentrations of gelatin (5%, 15% and 30%). ARPE-19 cells were seeded onto these artificial membranes. MTT assays were performed in order to evaluate ARPE-19 cell viability and cytotoxicity. IF assays were realized to observe the ARPE-19 cells onto each membrane. Ultrastructure of the modified Bruch’s membrane and ARPE-19 morphology after 25 days of culture were studied with transmission and scanning electron microscopy. To evaluate expression changes in markers of ARPE-19 (RPE65 and ZO-1) qRT-PCR assays were realized. Data from three independent experiments were pooled and expressed as the mean SD. A confidence level of P 0.05 was considered to be statistically significant. Results ARPE-19 cells grew on PCl/Gelatin membranes mainly in PCl/30% gelatin combination, which had not cytotoxic effect. RPE65/cytokeratin-18/ and actin-positive ARPE-19 cells formed a correctly orientated monolayer of polygonal cells with morphological polarity. The apical cell surfaces exhibited abundant protruding microfolds. Moreover, zones of polygonal border look as if ARPE-19 cells fused among, suggesting the presence of tight junctions. The expression of RPE65 and ZO-1 was unchanged. Conclusions: PCl/30% Gelatine membranes may imitate the natural BM to such extent that they support RPE-cells and exhibited RPE-like morphology. Connexin 43 (CX43) is one of the major components of gap junctions, the structures responsible for the intercellular communication and transmission of the electrical impulse in the left ventricle. There is limited information on the histological changes of CX43 with age and their effect on electrophysiology, especially in humans. Here, we analyzed left ventricular biopsies from living donors starting at midlife to characterize age-related CX43 remodel.ng. We assessed its quantity, degree of lateralization, and spatial heterogeneity together with fibrotic deposition. We observed no significant age-related remodel.ng of CX43. Only spatial heterogeneity increased slightly with age, and this increase was better explained by biological age than by chronological age. Importantly, we found that CX43 features varied considerably among individuals in our population with no relevant relationship to age or fibrosis content, in contrast to animal species. We used our experimental results to feed computational models of human ventricular electrophysiology and to assess the effects of interindividual differences in specific features of CX43 and fibrosis on conduction velocity, action potential duration, and arrhythmogenicity. We found that larger amounts of fibrosis were associated with the highest arrhythmic risk, with this risk being increased when fibrosis deposition was combined with a reduction in CX43 amount and/or with an increase in CX43 spatial heterogeneity. These mechanisms underlying high arrhythmic risk in some individuals were not associated with age in our study population. In conclusion, our data rule out CX43 remodel.ng as an age-related arrhythmic substrate in the population beyond midlife, but highlight its potential as a proarrhythmic factor at the individual level, especially when combined with increased fibrosis.

电阻燃烧-红外吸收法测定阴极铜中微量硫

阴极铜中硫的含量对铜的电导率、热导率和塑性加工性能有显著影响,因此,其含量的准确测定有重要意义。选择阴极铜光谱与化学标准样品GSB 04-2554-2010系列,以及由这些标准样品混合配制而成的自制参考样品组成硫含量呈一定梯度且有足够宽跨度的校准样品系列绘制校准曲线,以校准曲线与日校正因子相结合的模式计算未知样品结果,实现了电阻燃烧-红外吸收法对阴极铜中微量硫的测定。对称样量、燃烧温度、积分时间等条件进行了优化,确定称取1.00 g样品,控制燃烧温度和积分时间分别为1 200℃和150 s。对标准样品中硫的释放曲线有拖尾及异常偏高的情况进行分析,结果表明,该现象可能是由空气中的水分引起的,因此选择在测定前加上无水高氯酸镁净化柱以干燥燃烧混合气。氧气流量对测定的干扰影响显著,试验对其优化确定选用氧气流量为2.3 l/min。考察了未经处理和经过处理的瓷舟空白值,结果表明,瓷舟经过处理后能显著降低其空白值,因此选择将瓷舟置于20%盐酸(体积分数)中浸泡过夜,然后于1 200℃马弗炉中煅烧2 h的方式进行处理。在选定的仪器条件下测定校准样品系列,以硫质量为横坐标,其对应的积分面积为纵坐标绘制校准曲线,校准曲线的相关系数为0.999 9,方法检出限和定量限分别为0.1和0.3μg/g。按照实验方法对阴极铜标准样品及不同硫含量水平的生产样品中硫平行测定11次,结果表明,对于标准样品,测定值与标准值一致,相对标准偏差(RSD,n=11)小于2.0%;对于生产样品,实验方法测定值与国家标准GB/T 467—2010中的高频燃烧红外吸收法或燃烧碘量法相吻合,相对标准偏差(RSD,n=11)在1.6%~5.3%之间。
