Constructal design of printed circuit recuperator for S-CO_(2)cycle via multi-objective optimization algorithm

Based on a constructal theory,the structure design of a printed circuit recuperator with a semicircular heat transfer channel for supercritical CO_(2)cycle is carried out.First,a complex function composed of weighted sum of the reciprocal of total heat transfer rate and total pumping power consumption is regarded as an optimization objective,and total volumes of the recuperator and heat transfer channel are regarded as constraints.The optimal heat transfer channel radius and minimum complex function of the recuperator are obtained.It turns out that heat transfer rate,pumping power consumption,and complex function under the optimal construct of recuperator are reduced by 15.10%,82.44%,and 32.33%,respectively.There exists the optimal single plate channel number which results in the double minimum complex function.Second,for the purpose of minimizing the reciprocal of heat transfer rate and pumping power consumption,NSGA-II algorithm is used to achieve multi-objective optimization,and the minimum deviation index derived by the decision-making methods is 0.076,which can be taken as multi-objective optimal design scheme for printed circuit recuperator with semicircular heat transfer channels.The findings presented here can serve as theoretical recommendations for the structure design of printed circuit recuperator.

Evolutionary Multi-Tasking Optimization for High-Efficiency Time Series Data Clustering

Time series clustering is a challenging problem due to the large-volume,high-dimensional,and warping characteristics of time series data.Traditional clustering methods often use a single criterion or distance measure,which may not capture all the features of the data.This paper proposes a novel method for time series clustering based on evolutionary multi-tasking optimization,termed i-MFEA,which uses an improved multifactorial evolutionary algorithm to optimize multiple clustering tasks simultaneously,each with a different validity index or distance measure.Therefore,i-MFEA can produce diverse and robust clustering solutions that satisfy various preferences of decision-makers.Experiments on two artificial datasets show that i-MFEA outperforms single-objective evolutionary algorithms and traditional clustering methods in terms of convergence speed and clustering quality.The paper also discusses how i-MFEA can address two long-standing issues in time series clustering:the choice of appropriate similarity measure and the number of clusters.

Optimal Stochastic Scheduling Strategy of Multi-vector Energy Complex Integrated with Full-blown Power-to-biomethane Model

We propose an optimal stochastic scheduling strategy for a multi-vector energy complex(MEC), considering a fullblown model of the power-to-biomethane(Pt M) process. Unlike conventional optimization that uses a simple efficiency coefficient to coarsely model energy conversion between electricity and biomethane, a detailed Pt M model is introduced to emphasize the reactor kinetics and chemical equilibria of methanation. This model crystallizes the interactions between the Pt M process and MEC flexibility, allowing to adjust the operating condition of the methanation reactor for optimal MEC operation in stochastic scenarios. Temperature optimization and flowsheet design of the Pt M process increase the average selectivity of methane(i.e., ratio between net biomethane production and hydrogen consumption) up to 83.7% in the proposed synthesis flowsheet. Simulation results can provide information and predictions to operators about the optimal operating conditions of a Pt M unit while improving the MEC flexibility.

HTDcr:a job execution framework for high-throughput computing on supercomputers

High-throughput computing(HTC) is a computing paradigm that aims to accomplish jobs by easily breaking them into smaller,independent components.However,it requires a large amount of computing power for a long time.Most existing HTC frameworks are job-oriented without support for coscheduling with hardware architecture and task-level execution.Also,most of the frameworks reach a limited scale,and their usability needs further improvement.Herein,we present HTDcr,a job execution framework for the HTC on supercomputers.This study aims to improve the throughput,task dispatching,and usability of the framework.In detail,the throughput optimizations include a sophisticated designed task management system,a hierarchical scheduler,and the co-optimization of the task-scheduling strategy with the application and hardware characteristics.The optimizations for usability include a programable execution workflow,mechanisms for more robust and reliable service qualities,and a fine-grained resource allocation system for the colocation of multiple jobs.According to our evaluations,HTDcr can achieve outstanding scalability and high throughput on large-scale clusters for the HTC workload.We evaluate HTDcr with several microbenchmarks and real-world applications on Tianhe-2 and Sunway TaihuLight to demonstrate its effects on existing design mechanisms.For instance,the task scheduling for two real-world applications integrated with the application and hardware characteristics achieves 1.7× and 1.9× speedups over the basic task-scheduling strategy.

Study of factors influencing the occurrence rate of 60 Hz power line radiation in the topside ionosphere: A systematic survey using the CSES satellite

We analyze the topside ionosphere power line radiation（PLR） at 60 Hz over the US using electric field data collected by CSES satellite between January 2019 and December 2022. The study aimed to further investigate the month-to-month variation characteristic of PLR occurrence rate observed by satellite and its several influencing factors, including solar radiation, lightning activity, and try to clarify the influence of electricity consumption. The results show that the solar radiation(solar zenith angle and F10.7) plays a major role in the variation of the PLR occurrence rate, and that there is no direct connection with the number of lightning. For the relationship between PLR occurrence rate and electricity consumption, the low occurrence rate associated with decreased weekend electricity consumption was not observed in the US. However, there is a significant difference in PLR occurrence rate between the East and West Coasts of the US at the same latitude during the same time period, suggesting that the significant difference in PLR occurrence rate is caused by the significant difference in electricity consumption between the two coasts. After excluding the effect of solar radiation on PLR occurrence rate, we concluded that only a significant difference in regional electricity consumption could lead to a corresponding change in PLR occurrence rate detected by the Low-Earth-Orbit satellite. Finally, we also found there is seasonal variation in the diurnal differences of the PLR occurrence rate caused by seasonal variation of the lower ionosphere.

Decolorization of azo dyes by a salt-tolerant Staphylococcus cohnii strain isolated from textile wastewater

The salt-tolerant Staphylococcus cohnii strain, isolated from textile wastewater, has been found effective on decolorizing several kinds of azo dyes with different structures. The optimal conditions for azo dye acid red B （ARB） decolorization by S. cohnii were determined to be pH= 7.0 and 30℃. The decolorization efficiency increased with the increase of the salinity concentration, and around 90% of ARB （100mg.L-1） could be decolorized in 24 h when the salinity concentration was up to 50 g-L 1. Moreover, the strain could still decolorize 19% of ARB in 24 h even when the NaC1 concentration was increased to 150 g. L1. Meanwhile, the dependence of the specific decolorization rate by S. cohnii on the ARB concentration could be described with Michaelis-Menten kinetics （Kin = 585.7mg·L-1, Vmax = t09.8mg-g cell ·h ^-1）. The addition of quinone redox mediator, named 2-hydroxy-l,4-naphthoquinone and anthraqui- none-2,6-disulfonate, significantly accelerated the deco- lorization performance ofS. cohnii. Furtherly, the activities of azoreductase （0.55 μmol.mg protein^-1.min-1） and Nicotineamide adenine dinucleotide-dichlorophenol indophenol （NADH-DCIP） reductase （8.9μmol.mg proteinl.min-1） have been observed in the crude cell extracts of S. cohnii. The decolorization products of ARB were analyzed by HPLC-MS, and the results indicated the reductive pathway was responsible for azo dye decoloriza- tion by S. cohnii.

BACKGROUND Avulsion fracture of the ischial tuberosity is a relatively clinically rare type of trauma that is mainly incurred by adolescents during competitive sports activities.According to previous literature,the most commonly involved sports are soccer,sprinting,and gymnastics,in descending order.Dance-induced avulsion fracture of the ischial tuberosity and ischial ramus is extremely clinically rare.CASE SUMMARY A case of a neglected avulsion fracture of the ischial tuberosity and ischial ramus was diagnosed in a young female dancer who complained of pain and restricted movement of her right hip.She stated that she had suffered the injury while performing a split leap during a dance performance 9 mo prior.Eventually,she underwent surgery and obtained satisfactory treatment results.CONCLUSION Early diagnosis of these fractures is important to ensuring early proper treatment towards a quicker recovery.For old fractures with nonunion and chronic buttock pain,surgery is a preferred therapeutic choice with good treatment outcomes.

Effect of aflibercept combined with triamcinolone acetonide on aqueous humor growth factor and inflammatory mediators in diabetic macular edema

AIM:To investigate the efficacy of aflibercept combined with sub-tenon injection of triamcinolone acetonide(TA)in treating diabetic macular edema(DME)and to examine changes in growth factors and inflammatory mediator levels in aqueous humor after injection.METHODS:Totally 67 DME patients(67 eyes)and 30 cataract patients(32 eyes)were enrolled as the DME group and the control group,respectively.The DME group was divided into the aflibercept group(34 cases)and the aflibercept combined with TA group(combined group,33 cases).The aqueous humor of both groups was collected during the study period.The aqueous levels of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),monocyte chemoattractant protein-1(MCP-1),interleukin-6(IL-6),interleukin-8(IL-8),and interleukin-1β(IL-1β)were detected using a microsphere suspension array technology(Luminex 200TM).Aqueous cytokines,best-corrected visual acuity(BCVA),central macular thickness(CMT),and complications before and after treatment were compared between the aflibercept group and combined group.RESULTS:The concentrations of VEGF,MCP-1,IL-6,and IL-8 in the aqueous humor were significantly higher in the DME group than those of the control group(all P0.05).CONCLUSION:The cytokines VEGF,MCP-1,IL-6,and IL-8 in the aqueous humor of DME patients are significantly increased.Aflibercept and aflibercept combined with TA have good efficacy in DME patients,can effectively reduce CMT,improve the patient’s vision,and have high safety.Aflibercept combined with TA can quickly downregulate the aqueous humor cytokines and help to relieve macular edema rapidly.However,the long-term efficacy is comparable to that of aflibercept alone

A new evolutional model for institutional field knowledge flow network

Purpose:This paper aims to address the limitations in existing research on the evolution of knowledge flow networks by proposing a meso-level institutional field knowledge flow network evolution model(IKM).The purpose is to simulate the construction process of a knowledge flow network using knowledge organizations as units and to investigate its effectiveness in replicating institutional field knowledge flow networks.Design/Methodology/Approach:The IKM model enhances the preferential attachment and growth observed in scale-free BA networks,while incorporating three adjustment parameters to simulate the selection of connection targets and the types of nodes involved in the network evolution process Using the PageRank algorithm to calculate the significance of nodes within the knowledge flow network.To compare its performance,the BA and DMS models are also employed for simulating the network.Pearson coefficient analysis is conducted on the simulated networks generated by the IKM,BA and DMS models,as well as on the actual network.Findings:The research findings demonstrate that the IKM model outperforms the BA and DMS models in replicating the institutional field knowledge flow network.It provides comprehensive insights into the evolution mechanism of knowledge flow networks in the scientific research realm.The model also exhibits potential applicability to other knowledge networks that involve knowledge organizations as node units.Research Limitations:This study has some limitations.Firstly,it primarily focuses on the evolution of knowledge flow networks within the field of physics,neglecting other fields.Additionally,the analysis is based on a specific set of data,which may limit the generalizability of the findings.Future research could address these limitations by exploring knowledge flow networks in diverse fields and utilizing broader datasets.Practical Implications:The proposed IKM model offers practical implications for the construction and analysis of knowledge flow networks within institutions.It provides a

Hybrid vibration isolation optimization of a flexible manipulator based on neural network agent model

Segmented Active Constrained Layer Damping(SACLD)is an intelligent vibration-damping structure,which could be applied to the sectors of aviation,aerospace,and transportation engineering to reduce the vibration of flexible structures.Moreover,machine learning technology is widely used in the engineering field because of its efficient multi-objective optimization.The dynamic simulation of a rotational segmental flexible manipulator system is presented,in which enhanced active constrained layer damping is carried out,and the neural network model of Genetic Algorithm-Back Propagation(GA-BP)algorithm is investigated.Vibration suppression and structural optimization of the SACLD manipulator model are studied based on vibration mode and damping prediction.The modal responses of the SACLD manipulator model at rest and rotation are obtained.In addition,the four model indices are optimized using the GA-BP neural network:axial incision size,axial incision position,circumferential incision size,and circumferential incision position.Finally,the best model for vibration suppression is obtained.
