A highly active ZrO x /ZnO catalyst for microwave-assisted photocatalytic （MW/PC） degradation of endocrine disruptor dimethyl phthalate （DMP） has been prepared via cetyltrimethylammonium assisted hydrothermal method. The ZrO x /ZnO was characterized by XPS, XRD, UV-Vis, BET and SEM techniques. The XPS result showed that Zr oxides with different valences （＋2, ＋3, ＋4） co-existed in ZrO x /ZnO. By using the ZrO x /ZnO （0.1 g）, the TOC removal efficiency of DMP （100 mL of 50 mg/L） was 88% after 30 min reaction, which was about 15% higher than P25 TiO 2 . It was found that the removal process of DMP by MW/PC followed pseudo first-order kinetics in all cases, and ZrO x /ZnO significantly accelerated the degradation of DMP. The degradation half-life time of DMP was shortened 45% compared with P25 TiO 2 . A possible catalytic mechanism was proposed based on microwave response and interfacial charge transfer. ZrO x /ZnO could be reused for six times without obvious decrease in catalytic activity. The study offers new insights into designing highly efficient catalysts for MW/PC process and is applicable for MW/PC environmental remediation.

Polyaluminum chloride （PAC） was used as coagulant and suspended particles in kaolin water. Online instruments including turbidimeter and particle counter were used to monitor the flocculation process. An evaluation model for demonstrating the impact on the flocculation effect was established based on the multiple linear regression analysis method. The parameter of the index weight of channels quantitatively described how the variation of floc particle population in different size ranges cause the decrement of turbidity. The study showed that the floc particles in different size ranges contributed differently to the decrease of turbidity and that the index weight of channel could excellently indicate the impact degree of floc particles dynamic distribution on flocculation effect. Therefore, the parameter may significantly benefit the development of coagulation and sedimentation techniques as well as the optimal coagulant selection.

High-concentration nitrite-containing wastewater that presents extreme toxicity to human health and organisms is difficult to be treated using traditional biological process. In this study, a novel microwave-enhanced chemical reduction process （MECRP） using sulfarninic acid （SA） was proposed as a new manner to treat such type of wastewater. Based on lab-scale experiments, it was shown that 75%-80% nitrite （NO2-） could be removed within time as short as 4 min under 50 W microwave irradiation in pH range 5-10 when molar ratio of SA to nitrite （SA/NO2-） was 0.8. Pilot-scale investigations demonstrated that MECRP was able to achieve nitrite and chemical oxygen demand （COD） removal with efficiency up to 80% and 20%, respectively under operating conditions of SA concentration 80 kg/m3, SA/NO2- ratio 0.8, microwave power 3.4 kW, and stirring time 3 min. Five-day biological oxygen demand （BODs）/COD value of treated effluent after MECRP was increased from 0.05 to 0.36 （by 620%）, which clearly suggested a considerable improvement of biodegradability for subsequent biological treatment. This study provided a demonstration of using microwave irradiation to enhance reaction between SA and nitrite in a short time, in which nitrite in wastewater was completely converted into nitrogen gas without leaving any sludge and secondary pollutants.

This study selected polyaluminum chloride（PAC） coagulant to remove suspended particles in Kaolin suspension solution and used a turbidimeter and particle counter to monitor the flocculation process online and collected the experiment data. The experiments were conducted to study the dynamic distribution characteristics of suspended particles under different hydrodynamic conditions. The results show the self-similarity and scale invariance of particle size distribution. The study further proposed the concept of fractal dimension of particle size distribution and found out that fractal dimension changed in a similar way as residual turbidity did and could excellently indicate the variation of coagulation effect. Therefore, fractal dimension could be adopted to optimize the addition of coagulants and the quality of outflow could be further improved to reduce production costs.

In this study,the sludge settleability and filamentous bacteria were investigated and compared in three sequencing batch reactors（SBR）filled with different substrates under aerobic *** substrate concentration gradient, the storage capability for microorganisms was low,and sludge bulking occurred *** sludge bulking was caused when the systems were fed with acetate and *** open and fluffy flocs formed in the system fed with *** analysis indicated that special filaments dominated in different substrate-fed *** is in favor of Thiothrix,while glucose is in favor of ***,and starch may cause a N. limicolaⅡand *** dominated sludge bulking.

＜正＞With the increasing demand for high efficiency and safety sludge treatment technology,an advanced sludge treatment process combining hydrogen peroxide and ozone was *** impacts of different pH value,ratio of hydrogen peroxide to ozone and the original sludge concentration on sludge disintegration were *** on the analysis of different parameters,soluble total organic carbon and particle chemical oxygen demand were selected as the indicator of sludge *** a result,it can be concluded that the combination of hydrogen peroxide and ozone process had a good performance when the molar ratio of hydrogen peroxide to ozone was 1.2 and the pH value was at the range of 6～*** increase of sludge initial concentration was benefit for sludge *** this study,the identical initial concentration of sludge was 9,850～20,000mg/*** addition,experimental results also indicated that the hydrolysis of sludge could be used as an alternative carbon source for nitrogen removal and the average rate of COD consumption of sludge supernatants was 7.67mgCOD/gMLSS·h.

This study examined the potential health risks posed by the operation of 96 waste-to-energy(WtE)plants in 30 cities in the Bohai Rim of *** a sophisticated simulation approach,the Weather Research and Forecasting(WRF)model coupled with the California Puff(CALPUFF)model,we obtained the spatial distribution of pollutants emitted by WtE plants in the *** indices(HI)and cancer risks(CR)were calculated for each plant using the United States environmental Protection Agency's recommended *** results indicated that both HIs and CRs were generally low,with values below the accepted threshold of 1.0 and 1.0×10^(-6),***,the average HI and CR values for the entire study area were 2.95×10^(-3)and 3.43×10^(-7),***,some variability in these values was observed depending on the location and type of WtE plant.A thorough analysis of various parameters,such as waste composition,moisture content,and operating conditions,was conducted to identify the factors that influence the health risks associated with *** findings suggest that proper waste sorting and categorization,increased cost of construction,and elevated height of chimneys are effective strategies for reducing the health risks associated with ***,this study provides valuable insights into the potential health risks associated with WtE plants in the Bohai Rim region of *** findings can serve as useful guidelines for law enforcement wings and industry professionals seeking to minimize the risks associated with municipal solid waste(MSW)management and promote sustainable development.

Membrane will inevitably reach the end of its lifespan due to the irrecoverable fouling accumulation in membrane bioreactors(MBRs)during long-term ***,we developed an eco-friendly membrane regeneration strategy with triethyl phosphate(TEP),which successfully prolonged the lifespan of end-of-life(EOL)polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF)membranes in a large-scale *** regenerated(Rg)membrane exhibited a water permeance of 534.8±45.7 L m^(-2)h^(-1)bar-1,along with stable rejection rate,which was comparable with that of the new ***,compared to the membrane subjected solely to preliminary cleaning,the Rg membrane presented a more hydrophilic surface due to the combination of preliminary cleaning and solvent-based ***,the Rg membrane presented less fouling propensity with the critical flux of 15.2 L m^(-2)h^(-1),significantly higher than that of the EOL membrane(4.0 L m^(-2)h^(-1)).Importantly,the membrane regeneration strategy was capable of guaranteeing the effluent quality in MBR systems for treating real municipal *** study provides an eco-friendly membrane regeneration strategy for effectively removing the irrecoverable foulants,thereby promoting the advancement of sustainable membrane-based wastewater treatment technology.
