High-tenacity in-situ Ti/Zr-based bulk metallic glasses composites fabricated by industrial high-pressure die casting

The glass-forming ability and mechanical properties of metallic glasses and their composites are well known to be sensitive to the preparation conditions and are highly deteriorated by industrial preparing conditions such as low-purity raw materials and low vacuum.Here,we showed that a series of in-situ bulk metallic glass composites(BMGCs)which exhibit excellent ductility and segmental work hardening were successfully developed utilizing a high vacuum high-pressure die casting(HV-HPDC)technology along with industrial-grade raw materials.The tensile properties of these BMGCs are systematically investigated and correlated with the alloy microstructure.As compared with the copper mold suction casting method,the volume fraction difference of the dendrite phase for the BMGCs with the same composition is not significant when fabricated by the HV-HPDC,whereas the size of theβ-phase is generally larger.Insitu BMGCs with the composition of Ti_(48)Zr_(20)(V_(12/17)Cu_(5/17))19 Be 13 obtained by the HV-HPDC process show ductility up to 11.3%under tension at room temperature and exhibit a certain amount of work hardening.Two conditions need to be met to enable the BMGCs,which are prepared by vacuum die-casting to retain favorable ductility:(1)The volume fraction ofβphase stays below 62%±2%;(2)The equiaxed crystals with a more uniform size in the range of 5-10μm.Meanwhile,the results of the present study provided guidance for developing BMGCs with good ductile properties under industrial conditions.

Operando NMR methods for studying electrocatalysis

The combination of electrochemical measurements with spectroscopic characterizations provides valuable insights into reaction mechanisms.Nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR)spectroscopy,as a powerful technique due to its atomic specificity and versatility in studying gas,liquid,and solid,allows the study of electrolyte solution,catalyst and catalyst-adsorbate interfaces.When applied in operando,NMR can offer molecular-level insights into various electrochemical processes.Operando NMR has been applied extensively in battery research,but relatively underexplored for electrocatalysis in the past two decades.In this mini review,we first introduce the operando electrochemical NMR setups,categorized by different probe designs.Then we review the applications of operando NMR for monitoring the electrolyte solution and the catalyst-adsorbate interface.Considering the high environmental impact of electrochemical conversion of CO_(2)into value-added products,we zoom in to the use of operando NMR in studying electrochemical CO_(2)reduction.Finally,we provide our perspective on further developing and applying operando NMR methods for understanding the complex reaction network of Cu-catalyzed electrochemical CO_(2)reduction.

Background:Fear of negative evaluation(FNE),referring to negative expectation and feelings toward other people’s social evaluation,is closely associated with social anxiety that plays an important role in our social life.Exploring the neural markers of FNE may be of theoretical and practical significance to psychiatry research(e.g.,studies on social anxiety).Methods:To search for potentially relevant biomarkers of FNE in human brain,the current study applied multivariate relevance vector regression,a machine-learning and data-driven approach,on brain morphological features(e.g.,cortical thickness)derived from structural imaging data;further,we used these features as indexes to predict self-reported FNE score in each participant.Results:Our results confirm the predictive power of multiple brain regions,including those engaged in negative emotional experience(e.g.,amygdala,insula),regulation and inhibition of emotional feeling(e.g.,frontal gyrus,anterior cingulate gyrus),and encoding and retrieval of emotional memory(e.g.,posterior cingulate cortex,parahippocampal gyrus).Conclusions:The current findings suggest that anxiety represents a complicated construct that engages multiple brain systems,from primitive subcortical mechanisms to sophisticated cortical processes.

Thermal stability analysis of a satellite-borne optical bench based on quasi-kinematic support

Macao Science Satellite-1(known as MSS-1)is a low-inclination mission that will be launched at the beginning of 2023.An optical bench is used for accessing high-precision strength and direction measurements of the magnetic field.In this paper,we present a thermal stability design for the optical bench based on quasi-kinematic support by kinematic hinges on the MSS-1.The change in angles with the finite element method(FEM)model modified by thermal deformation test data is analyzed.The robustness of the structure is also investigated via the Monte Carlo method.Two main results are obtained.First,the peak-to-peak value(Vp-p)of the inter-boresight angle is at most 1.24″,and the Vp-p of the inter-boresight angle modification and analysis is no more than 3.13″,both of which are better than those on the Swarm satellites in orbit.Second,the 90°fibers of the carbon-reinforced arm need to be strictly controlled during the technological process.

Enhancing pain modulation: the efficacy of synchronous combination of virtual reality and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation

Introduction Virtual reality(VR)and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation(TENS)have emerged as effective interventions for pain reduction.However,their standalone applications often yield limited analgesic effects,particularly in certain painful conditions.Aims Our hypothesis was that the combination of VR with TENS in a synchronous manner could produce the best analgesic effect among the four experimental conditions.Methods To address this challenge,we proposed a novel pain modulation strategy that synchronously combines VR and TENS,aiming to capitalise on both techniques'complementary pain modulation mechanisms.Thirty-two healthy subjects participated in the study and underwent three types of interventions:VR alone,a combination of VR with conventional TENS,and a combination of VR with synchronous TENS.Additionally,a control condition with no intervention was included.Perceived pain intensity,pain unpleasantness,positive and negativeaffect scores,and electroencephalographic(EEG)data were collected before and after the interventions.To delve into the potential moderating role of pain intensity on the analgesic efficacy of VR combined with synchronous TENS,we incorporated two distinct levels of painful stimuli:one representing mild to moderate pain(ie,low pain)and the other representing moderate to severe pain(ie,high pain).Results Our findings revealed that both combination interventions exhibited superior analgesic effects compared with the VR-alone intervention when exposed to low and high pain stimuli.Notably,the combination of VR with synchronous TENS demonstrated greater analgesic efficacy than the combination of VR with conventional TENS.EEG data further supported these results,indicating that both combination interventions elicited a greater reduction in event-related potential magnitude compared with the VR-alone intervention during exposure to low and high pain stimuli.Moreover,the synchronous combination intervention induced a more significant reduction in N2 amplitude than the VR-alone intervent

共价有机框架材料(Covalent organic frameworks,COFs)是一种具有周期性二维或三维网状结构的多孔有机材料,其结构由两种或更多有机分子通过共价键连接而成。COFs具有骨架密度低、比表面积大、孔隙率高、结构可设计性和功能可修饰性等特点,在储能领域展现出巨大的潜力。由于其丰富的氧化还原活性位点和开放的框架结构,COFs作为金属离子电池正极材料有着独特的优势。然而COFs导电性差、能量密度低、可用的活性位点较少和离子传输通道的阻塞等缺陷限制了其在储能领域的应用。本文系统综述了COFs作为金属离子电池正极材料的最新研究现状,包括对COFs的种类、合成方法以及设计策略进行总结,从不同活性基团的角度对其电化学储能机理进行概述,并介绍了COFs在不同金属离子电池方面的应用。最后总结和展望了COFs在储能领域应用的前景和挑战。

LONG-TERM CREEP ASSESSMENT OF VISCOELASTIC POLYMER BY TIME-TEMPERATURE-STRESS SUPERPOSITION

Nonlinear viscoelastic creep properties of poly （methyl methacrylate） at various temperatures and stress levels were measured in short-term tests to check the applicability of time-temperature-stress superposition principle, which is the combined form of time-temperature superposition principle and time-stress superposition principle. A unified master creep compli- ance curve was constructed from the short-term tests by joint application of time-temperature superposition and time-stress superposition. The unified master curve establishes the creep com- pliance over two years, which is 4.2 decades longer than the test duration. Moreover, it is verified that in nonlinear viscoelastic cases, the time-temperature shift factors are dependent on stresses at which the shifts are applied, while the time-stress shift factors are dependent on temperatures.

目的探索我国成人高血压的发病现状及其地域和城乡差异。方法基于中国健康与营养调查(CHNS)项目数据,以及国家统计局网站和政府官网的居民消费水平和海拔数据,根据动态队列研究设计及数据类型,采用稳健的多水平Poisson回归分析方法,探索高血压发病的地域和城乡差异。结果根据纳入和排除标准,筛选出符合要求的调查对象11579人,共计50957条数据。24年的随访结果表明,中国成人高血压粗发病密度为37.08/1000人年,其中男性为40.51/1000人年,女性为34.13/1000人年。稳健的多水平Poisson回归结果表明,在控制时间、社区主要从事农业劳动人口占比、居民消费水平等高水平因素,以及年龄、性别等社会人口学特征后,中部[RR=1.20,95%CI(1.04,1.39)]、东北部[RR=1.25,95%CI(1.03,1.52)]、东部[RR=1.25,95%CI(1.05,1.48)]人群的高血压发病风险高于西部;且城市人群的高血压发病风险低于农村[RR=0.87,95%CI(0.77,0.96)]。结论中国成人高血压的发病密度较高,且男性高于女性;西部的高血压发病风险低于中部、东北部和东部,且城市的高血压发病风险低于农村。

高血压及其所导致的脑卒中、缺血性心脏病等心血管疾病,导致较高的疾病负担和健康损失,是全球负担最重的疾病,也是我国面临的重要公共卫生问题之一。目前我国学者开展了大量的高血压患病率研究,包括地域性的和全国性的患病率研究,但长期随访的发病率研究相对较少且多限于特定年龄和地域。本文对我国成人高血压的患病率和发病率现状及趋势进行总结:高血压患病率从1959年的5.1%上升至2018年的27.5%,患病率上升较快且总体呈现北高南低的趋势;高血压发病率处于较高水平(22年高血压累积发病率为33.4%),但大地域范围高血压发病率趋势研究较少。
