A numerical study of non-Darcy flow in EGS heat reservoirs during heat extraction

Underground non-Darcy fluid flow has been observed and investigated for decades in the petroleum industry. It is deduced by analogy that the fluid flow in enhanced geothermal system (EGS) heat reservoirs may also be in the non-Darcy regime under some conditions. In this paper, a transient 3D model was presented, taking into consideration the non-Darcy fluid flow in EGS heat reservoirs, to simulate the EGS long-term heat extraction process. Then, the non-Darcy flow behavior in water- and supercritical CO2 (SCCO2)-based EGSs was simulated and discussed. It is found that non-Darcy effects decrease the mass flow rate of the fluid injected and reduce the heat extraction rate of EGS as a flow resistance in addition to the Darcy resistance which is imposed to the seepage flow in EGS heat reservoirs. Compared with the water-EGS, the SCCO2-EGS are more prone to experiencing much stronger non-Darcy flow due to the much larger mobility of the SCCO2. The non-Darcy flow in SCCO2- EGSs may thus greatly reduce their heat extraction performance. Further, a criterion was analyzed and proposed to judge the onset of the non-Darcy flow in EGS heat reservoirs. The fluid flow rate and the initial thermal state of the reservoir were taken and the characteristic Forchheimer number of an EGS was calculated. If the calculated Forchheimer number is larger than 0.2, the fluid flow in EGS heat reservoirs experiences non-negligible non-Darcy flow characteristic.

Genomic differentiation with isolation by distance along a latitudinal gradient in the spotted-leg treefrog Polypedates megacephalus

The patterns of isolation by distance(IBD)entailing increased genetic differentiation among populations have aroused extensive concerns for evolutionary *** the IBD may act on spatial processes contribut-ing to the genetic differentiation among populations in anuran species,the factors shaping the IBD of frogs among populations in natural systems are largely ***,we studied the genetic differentiation among six popula-tions with 24 individuals of the spotted-leg treefrog along a latitudinal gradient(1860.31 km)based on 1020 single nucleotide polymorphisms from restriction site-associated DNA *** results showed that the genetic diversity differed signiﬁcantly among populations and that the insular populations had higher genetic diversity than the mainland ***,we also found a signiﬁcant genetic differentiation among populations(FST=0.277)and no sign of inbreeding(FUNI=-0.145).The IBD was detected for all populations,and a higher degree of the IBD was indicated when controlling for the effects of the isolation between Hainan and mainland populations caused by the Qiongzhou ***ﬁndings suggest that the form of the Qiongzhou Strait plays a key role in shaping the genetic diversity and population differentiation in treefrogs.

Eocene fossil Alseodaphne from Hainan Island of China and its paleoclimatic implications

Alseodaphne changchangensis sp. nov. (Lauraceae), with a perfectly preserved fossil leaf, was found in the Eocene Changchang Formation from the Changchang Basin of Hainan Island, China. This represents the earliest occurrence at the lowest latitude for the genus Alseodaphne, and offers important fossil evidence for further investigation of the origin and evolution of this genus and the paleoclimate of Hainan Island in the Eocene. Based on leaf morphology and cuticle characteristics, our fossil specimen is closest to the living species A. hainanensis Merrill, which is distributed mainly in tropical lowland rain forests, tropical montane rain forests, and subtropical montane evergreen broad-leafed forests on Hainan Island, and also found on the Wanshan Islands of Zhuhai of Guangdong Province and in northern parts of Vietnam. In the above areas, the climate factors are similar, i.e., the mean annual temperature is 20–22.6°C, the mean annual range of temperature 12–12.6°C and the mean annual precipitation 1784–2500 mm. Based on the nearest living species analysis, we conclude that the climate of the Changchang Basin on Hainan Island during the Eocene was close to that of the distribution areas of the living A. hainanensis.

在减污降碳协同增效的背景下,对污水处理厂开展全面、准确的碳排放核算,并提出减污降碳协同的工艺优化方案具有重要的现实意义.本文在团体标准《污水处理厂低碳运行评价技术规范》(T/CAEPI-2022)的基础上,提出了一种更全面的城镇污水处理厂碳排放核算方法,考虑了进水溶解性CH4、污水化石碳、外加碳源以及受纳水体残余污染物引起的碳排放.以浙江省某城镇污水处理厂(8000 m^(3)·d^(-1))为研究对象,利用该方法核算了其直接和间接碳排放,并利用BioWin进行了减污降碳协同工艺优化.结果显示,该厂2022年度总碳排放为2472.49 t CO_(2)eq,比现有标准的核算结果高出9.01%,其中,电耗碳排放占总碳排放的54.55%.利用BioWin软件建立了污水处理厂工艺概化模型,通过敏感性分析确定对模型输出结果影响显著的参数并校正模型.选取影响出水水质和碳排放的5个关键工艺参数:好氧区溶解氧、硝化液回流比、污泥回流比、排泥量、碳源投加量,基于模型进行了减污降碳优化方案设计与模拟.工艺优化后总碳排放降低了17.25%,且出水水质显著提升,预计每年降低成本约299074.70元,经济和环境效益可观.

Deep Learning presents a critical capability to be geared into environments being constantly changed and ongoing learning dynamic,which is especially relevant in Network Intrusion *** this paper,as enlightened by the theory of Deep Learning Neural Networks,Hierarchy Distributed-Agents Model for Network Risk Evaluation,a newly developed model,is *** architecture taken on by the distributed-agents model are given,as well as the approach of analyzing network intrusion detection using Deep Learning,the mechanism of sharing hyper-parameters to improve the efficiency of learning is presented,and the hierarchical evaluative framework for Network Risk Evaluation of the proposed model is ***,to examine the proposed model,a series of experiments were conducted in terms of NSLKDD *** proposed model was able to differentiate between normal and abnormal network activities with an accuracy of 97.60%on NSL-KDD *** the results acquired from the experiment indicate,the model developed in this paper is characterized by high-speed and high-accuracy processing which shall offer a preferable solution with regard to the Risk Evaluation in Network.

The compensation hypothesis predicts that if the left testis is defective *** to developmental stress,the increased right testis serves a compensatory role,and thereby displaying testes asymmetry which can be a reliable indicator of male body ***,to test the prediction of the compensation hypothesis,we analyzed difference in size between left testis and right testis and the relationship between testes asymmetry and male body condition in the swelled vent frog(Feirana quadranus).We found that the left testis was larger than right testis,displaying a significant directional asymmetry in testes *** testes mass was correlated with body condition,testes asymmetry was not correlated with body condition,which cannot provide evidence that the right testis had a compensatory *** findings suggest no evidence for the compensation hypothesis in this species due to lacking the compensatory function in right testis.

Altitudinal Variation in Digestive Tract Lengh in Feirana quadranus

Selective pressures favor variation in organ size in response to environmental changes and evolutionary process. In particular, changes in environmental temperature and rainfall at different altitudes often affect food resources, thereby mediating energy intake and allocation. The digestive tract provided a functional relationship between energy intake and allocation, of which gut morphology was associated with diet changes and food quality under different environments. Here we studied altitudinal variation in the digestive tract across four Feirana quadranus populations and tested the hypothesis that relative size of digestive tract should increase with increasing altitude. The results showed that although significant variation in length of the digestive tract was observed in females among populations, altitudinal variation in relative length of digestive tract or gut was non-significant. In addition, the digestive tract length was not correlated with temperature and precipitation across the four populations. Our findings suggest that individuals living in low-temperature and-precipitation populations at high altitudes did not display longer digestive tract than high temperature and precipitation populations at low altitudes, possibly because of small populations or sample sizes.
