High-quality quasi-monochromatic near-field radiative heat transfer designed by adaptive hybrid Bayesian optimization

The increasing demand for versatile and high-quality near-field radiative heat transfer(NFRHT) has created a critical need for a design approach that can handle numerous candidate structures. In this work, we employ and develop an adaptive hybrid Bayesian optimization(AHBO) algorithm to design the high-quality quasi-monochromatic NFRHT. The candidate materials include hexagonal boron nitride, silicon carbide, and doped silicon. The high-quality quasi-monochromatic NFRHT is optimized over 1.0 × 10^(8) candidate structures to maximize the evaluation factor. It is worth noting that only 2.6% of the candidate structures needed to be calculated to identify the optimal structure. The optimal structure of quasi-monochromatic NFRHT is an aperiodic multilayer metamaterial that differs from conventional periodic multilayer structures. Moreover, we investigate the robustness and mechanisms of the optimal quasi-monochromatic NFRHT with respect to the vacuum gap distance and the temperature difference between the emitter and receiver. In addition, the high-quality multi-peak NFRHT is designed using the AHBO algorithm by improving the definition of the evaluation factor. The results demonstrate that the AHBO algorithm is efficient in designing high-quality quasi-monochromatic and multi-peak NFRHT, and it can be further expanded to other structural designs in the field of energy conversion.

In this study,the oil recovery from pumpkin seed with or without the presence of pigment was evaluated during the aqueous enzymatic extraction process(AEEP).Additionally,the interaction of pumpkin seed coat pigment-protochlorophyll(Pchl)with interfacial proteins(globulin-O/W,globulin-W,and albumin-W)during the aqueous extraction process was *** Pchl was removed from pumpkin seeds,the yield of free oil was significantly increased by 50.71%after the first *** the total oil recovery increased from 68.59%to 89.91%using enzymatic ***β-sheet percentage of globulin-O/W decreased by 5.6%with the presence of Pchl based on the circular dichroism spectra *** particle size of globulin-W and albumin-W significantly increased in contrast to globulin-O/*** addition,the increase of surface hydrophobicity and surface sulfhydryl group showed a conformational change of three protein *** spectra analyses showed that Pchl quenched the intrinsic fluorescence of globulin-W,albumin-W,and globulin-O/W in a static *** analyses indicated that the main force between Pchl and proteins was hydrophobic *** hydrolysis efficiency of Papain was reduced during demulsification in AEEP with the presence of ***,the removal of pumpkin seed coat pigments facilitated the aqueous extraction of seed oil by getting rid of the interaction of Pchl with its interfacial protein.

Genetic studies have revealed a critical role of Distal-homeobox (Dlx) genes in bone formation,and our previous study showed that Dlx2 overexpressing in neural crest cells leads to profound abnormalities of the craniofacial *** aim of this study was to investigate the role and the underlying molecular mechanisms of Dlx2 in osteogenic differentiation of mouse bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) and pre-osteoblast MC3T3-E1 ***,we observed upregulation of Dlx2 during the early osteogenesis in BMSCs and MC3T3-E1 ***,Dlx2 overexpression enhanced alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity and extracellular matrix mineralization in BMSCs and MC3T3-E1 cell *** addition,micro-CT of implanted tissues in nude mice confirmed that Dlx2 overexpression in BMSCs promoted bone formation in ***,Dlx2 overexpression had little impact on the expression level of the pivotal osteogenic transcription factors Runx2,Dlx5,Msx2,and Osterix,but led to upregulation of Alp and Osteocalcin (OCN),both of which play critical roles in promoting osteoblast ***,luciferase analysis showed that Dlx2 overexpression stimulated both OCN and Alp promoter *** chromatin-immunoprecipitation assay and site-directed mutagenesis analysis,we provide molecular evidence that Dlx2 transactivates OCN and Alp expression by directly binding to the Dlx2-response cis-acting elements in the promoter of the two *** on these findings,we demonstrate that Dlx2 overexpression enhances osteogenic differentiation in vitro and accelerates bone formation in vivo via direct upregulation of the OCN and Alp gene,suggesting that Dlx2 plays a crucial role in osteogenic differentiation and bone formation.

NF-YCs modulate histone variant H2A.Z deposition to regulate photomorphogenic growth in Arabidopsis

Inplants,lightsignalstriggeraphotomorphogenic program involving transcriptome changes, epigenetic regulation, and inhibited hypocotyl elongation. The evolutionarily conserved histone variant H2 A.Z, which functions in transcriptional regulation, is deposited in chromatin by the SWI2/SNF2-RELATED 1 complex(SWR1 c). However, the role of H2 A.Z in photomorphogenesis and its deposition mechanism remain unclear. Here, we show that in Arabidopsis thaliana, H2 A.Z deposition at its target loci is induced by light irradiation via NUCLEAR FACTOR-Y, subunit C(NF-YC) proteins, thereby inhibiting photomorphogenic growth. NF-YCs physically interact with ACTIN-RELATED PROTEIN6(ARP6), a key component of the SWR1 c that is essential for depositing H2 A.Z, in a lightdependent manner. NF-YCs and ARP6 function together as negative regulators of hypocotyl growth by depositing H2 A.Z at their target genes during photomorphogenesis. Our findings reveal an important role for the histone variant H2 A.Z in photomorphogenic growth and provide insights into a novel transcription regulatory node that mediates H2 A.Z deposition to control plant growth in response to changing light conditions.

In order to predict potential molecules with Pb≡C bonding, we investigated the potential energy sur-face of a tetra-atomic system [PbCN2] at the CCSD(T)//B3LYP level. We found that the linear isomer PbCNN possesses good thermodynamic and kinetic stability. The combined molecular orbital analysis, hydrogenation heat, bond energy and bond dissociation energy all proved that PbCNN is composed of Pb≡ C triple bonding.

Here,an agricultural waste(the stem pith of helianthus annuus,SPHA)is firstly used as the precursor for preparing three-dimensional(3D)porous carbon sponge(PCS).The as-prepared 3D PCS(SPHA-700)possesses unique sponge-like structure,large specific surface area(SSA)and high nitrogen doping level(4.52 at.%),which benefit the enhancement of conductivity(5.8 S cm;)and *** a binder-free electrode for solid-state symmetric supercapacitor,SPHA-700 delivers a relatively high specific capacitance of137.1 F g^(-1)at 0.5 Ag^(-1).Moreover,activated SPHA-700(SPHA-ac-700–2)displays an even higher specific capacitance(403.6 F g^(-1)at 0.5 Ag^(-1))in 6.0 M KOH *** SPHA-ac-700–2-based symmetrical supercapacitor can offer high specific capacitance(271 F g^(-1)at 1 Ag^(-1))and good rate capability(82.1%of capacitance retention at 1–80 Ag^(-1))in 6.0 M KOH electrolyte,together with high energy density(23.3 Wh kg^(-1)at 450 W kg^(-1))in 1.0 M Na_(2)SO_(4)*** excellent performance of SPHA-ac-700–2 is believed to have originated from the crushed sponge-like structure,O/N-co-doping(10.6 at.%O and3.3 at.%N),high SSA,large total pore volume,and hierarchical pore structure.

The intrinsic a-Si：H passivation layer inserted between the doped a-Si：H layer and the c-Si substrate is very crucial for improving the performance of the a-Si：H/c- Si heterojunction （SHJ） solar cell. The passivation performance of the a-Si：H layer is strongly dependent on its microstructure. Usually, the compact a-Si：H deposited near the transition from the amorphous phase to the nanocrystalline phase by plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition （PECVD） can provide excellent passivation. However, at the low deposition pressure and low deposition power, such an a-Si：H layer can be only prepared in a narrow region. The deposition condition must be controlled very carefully. In this paper, intrinsic a- Si：H layers were prepared on n-type Cz c-Si substrates by 27.12 MHz PECVD at a high deposition pressure and high deposition power. The corresponding passivation perfor- mance on c-Si was investigated by minority carrier lifetime measurement. It was found that an excellent a-Si：H passivation layer could be obtained in a very wide deposition pressure and power region. Such wide process window would be very beneficial for improving the uniformity and the yield for the solar cell fabrication. The a-Si：H layer microstructure was further investigated by Raman and Fourier transform infrared （FTIR） spectro-scopy characterization. The correlation between the microstructure and the passivation performance was revealed. According to the above findings, the a-Si：H passivation performance was optimized more elaborately. Finally, a large-area SHJ solar cell with an efficiency of 22.25% was fabricated on the commercial 156 mm pseudo-square n-type Cz c-Si substrate with the opencircuit voltage （Voc） of up to 0.732 V.

Polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans in different tissues of the cormorants (Phalacrocorax carbo) from Dongting Lake,China

Tissue distribution provides important information regarding the pharmacokinetic behavior of pollutants and is invaluable when analyzing the risk posed to avian species by the exposure to such kind of pollutants. In this study, concentrations of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins （PCDDs） and polychlorinated dibenzofurans （PCDFs） were determined in muscle, liver, spleen, kidney, stomach, gall bladder, skin, heart, pancreas, intestine and lung tissue extracts of cormorants collected from Dongting Lake, China. Tissue distribution results showed preferential accumulation of PCDD/Fs in both liver and skin. The total concentration of PCDD/Fs ranged from 421 to 5696 pg/g lipid weight. Octachlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxin （OCDD） was the predominant congener in all tissues and contributed between 31% and 82% to all 17 PCDD/Fs in different tissues. The liver/muscle ratios progressively increased with the degree of chlorination of PCDDs, except for OCDD. The relative toxic potential of PCDDs and PCDFs in tissues were calculated using the World Health Organization （WHO） Toxic Equivalency Factors （TEFs） for birds. The concentrations of WHO-toxic equivalent in different tissues ranged between 14.8 and 2021 pg/g lipid weight. These results indicated PCDD/Fs may have been bio-accumulated in cormorant via food-web. Furthermore, when compared with studies reported in the literatures, the PCDD/Fs levels in the cormorant collected from Dongting Lake were still relatively high.
