In this work,the stable layer structure of serpentine,which seriously restricts the extraction of magnesium,was broken down,and a nearly 94%leaching efficiency of Mg was obtained by adding 5%fluorite powder.Compared with the system without fluorite,the Mg leaching efficiency increased by 36.42%.This result was achieved because the complexation of fluorinion(F)with Si in serpentine promoted a distorted tetrahedral orientation,which led to a loose crystal structure of serpentine and contributed to exposing more Mg for a remarkable increase in Mg recovery.It is suggested that fluorite powder could replace expensive assisted reagents in the leaching process,which would markedly decreased the cost.Moreover,an energy-efficient‘‘solvent displacement crystallization”(SDC)method was employed to efficiently recover magnesium(99.04%)from pregnant solutions.At the same time,the reuse of fluorinecontaining solutions was explored.

Garnet-structured ceramic electrolyte Li_(6.75)La_(3)Zr_(1.75)Ta_(0.25)O_(12)(LLZTO)attracts significant consideration in solid-state Li metal batteries due to its wide electrochemical window and favorable compatibility with Li metal.However,the deployment of LLZTO is severely hampered by poor contact between LLZTO and Li metal anode.In this paper,an ultra-thin Al-Si interface buffer layer(10 nm)is constructed on LLZTO by a magnetron sputtering method,which allows superior wetting of Li onto the LLZTO surface due to the alloying reaction between the Al-Si layer and Li metal.The resulting Li/Al-Si coated LLZTO(ASL)/Li symmetrical cell delivers an interfacial resistance of 15.0Ωcm^(-2),which is much lower than that of 1140.3Ωcm^(-2)for the bare LLZTO symmetrical cell.Moreover,the Li/ASL/Li symmetrical cells exhibit stable plating/striping performance(800 h)with small voltage hysteresis at 1.0 mA cm^(-2).Besides,the full cell with LiFePO_(4)cathode reveals a high capacity of 124.1 mA h g^(-1)after 600 cycles at 0.5C with a lowcapacity decay of 0.032%per cycle.We believe this work will facilitate the development of solid-state rechargeable batteries.

To enhance the performance of traditional cationic collector,a novel polyhydroxy amine collector N-(2,3-Propanediol)-N-dodecylamine(PDDA)was designed by introducing one propylene glycol group into dodecylamine(DDA).It was prepared by a nucleophilic substitution reaction,which showed better solubility and hydrophobicity than DDA and was firstly employed as the collector for the separation of hematite and quartz.Flotation tests showed that PDDA had an excellent flotation performance and significantly better selectivity than DDA.In addition,the flotation performance and adsorption mechanism of PDDA on hematite and quartz surfaces were studied using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),zeta potential and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)tests.These results demonstrated that the interaction between PDDA and the minerals’surfaces was mainly electrostatic adsorption and hydrogen bond,while PDDA tended to adsorb on the surfaces of quartz more than that of hematite.Performance optimization of amine collectors by introducing hydroxyl was also verified,which was of great meaning to the design,development,and application of the polyhydroxy cationic collector.In conclusion,PDDA could be used as a potential collector in the flotation separation of quartz and hematite.

Aqueous zinc-ion batteries (AZIBs) are promising contenders for large-scale energy storage with the merits of their low cost,high safety,environmental friendliness,and competitive gravimetric energy density.Nevertheless,suitable cathode materials with long cycle life and adequate capacity are still rare.Herein,we report a nanoflower vanadium tetrasulfide/carbon nanotubes (VS_(4)/CNTs) cathode with high Znstorage performance.We propose a phase transition reaction mechanism from VS_(4)to zinc pyrovanadate in the initial cycles and a reversible intercalation mechanism for Zn^(2+) in zinc pyrovanadate during subsequent cycles.As a result,the cathode delivers a high discharge capacity of 265 mAh g^(-1)at 0.25 A g^(-1)and 182 m Ah g^(-1)at 7 A g^(-1).In addition,the cathode exhibits a long-term cyclability with 93%capacity retention over 1200 cycles at 5 A g^(-1).VS_(4)/CNTs with superior electrochemical performance is a hopeful cathode material in AZIBs.

OBJECTIVE:To systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of acupuncture(AM)in the treatment of pregnancyrelated symptoms such as acute vomiting during pregnancy.METHODS:We comprehensively searched the available literature up to November 2021,including Pub Med,Embase,Cochrane Library,Chinese Biomedical Literature Database,and China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database,for randomized controlled trials(RCTs)on AM for the treatment of severe vomiting,insomnia,pharyngeal and pelvic pain,mood abnormalities,and dyspepsia during pregnancy.RESULTS:Sixteen RCTs with a cumulative sample size of 1178 cases were included.Of these,964 patients were included in the Meta-analysis.The Meta-analysis results showed that AM was more efficient than Western medicine in treating discomfort during pregnancy[odds ratio(OR)=1.19,95%confidence interval(CI)(1.11,1.28),P<0.01].AM was better than the control group in improving the visual analog scale scores[standard mean difference(SMD)=0.62,95%CI(0.53,0.71),P<0.01].AM was superior to the control group in improving Numerical Rating Scale(NRS)symptom scores[OR=7.31,95%CI(3.36,15.94),P<0.01].There was no significant difference in adverse effects between the AM and sham-AM groups and the analgesic drug group[OR=0.70,95%CI(0.39,1.28),P=0.25],but the treatment and control groups had mild adverse effects with a low incidence.CONCLUSIONS:AM is more effective than other treatments or pharmacotherapy alone in the treatment of pregnancy-related symptoms,and is relatively safe.However,the quality of the included trials was rather poor,and high-quality studies are required to confirm our findings.

Microscale zero-valent iron(mZVI)has shown great potential for groundwater Cr(Ⅵ)remediation.However,low Cr(Ⅵ)removal capacity caused by passivation restricted the wide use of mZVI.We prepared mZVI/GCS by encapsulating mZVI in a porous glutaraldehydecrosslinked chitosan matrix,and the formation of the passivation layer was alleviated by reducing the contact between zero-valent iron particles.The average pore diameter of mZVI/GCS was 8.775 nm,which confirmed the mesoporous characteristic of this material.Results of batch experiments demonstrated that mZVI/GCS exhibited high Cr(Ⅵ)removal efficiency in a wide range of pH(2-10)and temperature(5-35℃).Common groundwater coexisting ions slightly affected m ZVI/GCS.The material showed great reusability,and the average Cr(Ⅵ)removal efficiency was 90.41%during eight cycles.In this study,we also conducted kinetics and isotherms analysis.Pseudo-second-order model was the most matched kinetics model.The Cr(Ⅵ)adsorption process was fitted by both Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms models,and the maximum Langmuir adsorption capacity of m ZVI/GCS reached243.63 mg/g,which is higher than the adsorption capacities of materials reported in most of the previous studies.Notably,the column capacity for Cr(Ⅵ)removal of a mZVI/GCS-packed column was 6.4 times higher than that of a mZVI-packed column in a 50-day experiment.Therefore,mZVI/GCS with a porous structure effectively relieved passivation problems of mZVI and showed practical application prospects as groundwater Cr(Ⅵ)remediation material with practical application prospects.

Rechargeable aqueous zinc-ion batteries(ZIB s) have been gaining increasing interest for large-scale energy storage applications due to their high safety,good rate capability,and low cost.However,the further development of ZIB s is impeded by two main challenges:Currently reported cathode materials usually suffer from rapid capacity fading or high toxicity,and meanwhile,unstable zinc stripping/plating on Zn anode seriously shortens the cycling life of ZIBs.In this paper,metal-organic framework(MOF) materials are proposed to simultaneously address these issues and realize high-performance ZIB s with Mn(BTC) MOF cathodes and ZIF-8-coated Zn(ZIF-8@Zn) anodes.Various MOF materials were synthesized,and Mn(BTC) MOF was found to exhibit the best Zn^2+-storage ability with a capacity of 112 mAh g^-1.Zn^2+ storage mechanism of the Mn(BTC) was carefully studied.Besides,ZIF-8@Zn anodes were prepared by coating ZIF-8 MOF material on Zn foils.Unique porous structure of the ZIF-8 coating guided uniform Zn stripping/plating on the surface of Zn anodes.As a result,the ZIF-8@Zn anodes exhibited stable Zn stripping/plating behaviors,with 8 times longer cycle life than bare Zn foils.Based on the above,high-performance aqueous ZIBs were constructed using the Mn(BTC) cathodes and the ZIF-8@Zn anodes,which displayed an excellent long-cycling stability without obvious capacity fading after 900 charge/discharge cycles.This work provides a new opportunity for high-performance energy storage system.

Aqueous rechargeable Zn/MnO2 zinc-ion batteries(ZIBs)are reviving recently due to their low cost,non-toxicity,and natural abundance.However,their energy storage mechanism remains controversial due to their complicated electrochemical reactions.Meanwhile,to achieve satisfactory cyclic stability and rate performance of the Zn/MnO2 ZIBs,Mn2+ is introduced in the electrolyte(e.g.,ZnSO4 solution),which leads to more complicated reactions inside the ZIBs systems.Herein,based on comprehensive analysis methods including electrochemical analysis and Pourbaix diagram,we provide novel insights into the energy storage mechanism of Zn/MnO2 batteries in the presence of Mn2+.A complex series of electrochemical reactions with the coparticipation of Zn2+,H+,Mn2+,SO42-,and OH-were revealed.During the first discharge process,co-insertion of Zn2+ and H+ promotes the transformation of MnO2 into ZnxMnO4,MnOOH,and Mn2O3,accompanying with increased electrolyte pH and the formation of ZnSO4·3 Zn(OH)2-5 H2O.During the subsequent charge process,ZnxMnO4,MnOOH,and Mn2O3 revert to a-MnO2 with the extraction of Zn2+ and H+,while ZnSO4·3Zn(OH)2·5H2O reacts with Mn2+ to form ZnMn3O7·3 H2O.In the following charge/discharge processes,besides aforementioned electrochemical reactions,Zn2+ reversibly insert into/extract from α-MnO2,ZnxMnO4,and ZnMn3O7·3H2O hosts;ZnSO4·3Zn(OH)2·5 H2O,Zn2Mn3O8,and ZnMn2O4 convert mutually with the participation of Mn2+.This work is believed to provide theoretical guidance for further research on high-performance ZIBs.

Frequency Regulation of VSC-MTDC System with Offshore Wind Farms

Frequency regulation of voltage source converter-based multi-terminal high-voltage direct current(VSC-MTDC)system with offshore wind farms enhances the frequency stability by compensating the power for a disturbed AC system.However,it is difficult to reasonably allocate frequency-regulation resources due to a lack of coordination mechanisms between wind farms and the MTDC system.Moreover,it is difficult for the frequency control of the wind farms to manage changes in wind speed;and the risk of wind-turbine stalls is high.Thus,based on the kinetic energy of wind turbines and the power margin of the converters,the frequency-regulation capability of wind turbines is evaluated,and a dynamic frequency-support scheme considering the real-time frequency-support capability of the wind turbines and system frequency evolution is proposed to improve the frequency-support performance.A power adaptation technique at variable wind speeds is developed;the active power in the frequency-support stage and restoration stage is switched according to the wind speed.A hierarchical zoning frequency-regulation scheme is designed to use the frequency-regulation resources of different links in the MTDC system with wind farms.The simulation results show that the novel frequency-regulation strategy maintains frequency stability with wind-speed changes and avoids multiple frequency dips.

Characteristics and sources of peroxyacetyl nitrate(PAN)in the rural North China Plain:Results from1-year continuous observations

Peroxyacetyl nitrate(PAN)is an important photochemical pollutant in the troposphere,whereas long-term measurements are scarce in rural areas in North China Plain(NCP),resulting in unclear seasonal variations and sources of PAN in rural NCP.In this study,we conducted a 1-year observation of PAN during 2021-2022 at the rural NCP site.The average concentrations of PAN were 1.10,0.75,0.65,and 0.88 ppbv in spring,summer,autumn,and winter,respectively,with a 1-year average of 0.81±0.60 ppbv.Calculations indicate that the loss of PAN through thermal decomposition in summer accounts for 43.2% of the total formed PAN,which is an important reason for the low concentration of PAN in summer.We speculate that since the correlation between PAN and O_(3) in winter is significantly lower than that in other seasons,the observed regional transport of PAN cannot be ignored in winter.Through budget analysis,regional transport accounted for 12.8% and 55.9% of the observed PAN on the spring and winter pollution days,respectively,which showed that regional transport played key roles during the photochemical pollution of the rural NCP in winter.The potential source contribution function revealed that the transported PAN mainly comes from southern Hebei in spring.In winter,the transported PAN was mainly from Langfang,Hengshui,and southern Beijing.Our findings may aid in understanding PAN variations in different seasons in rural areas and highlight the impact of regional transport on the PAN budget.
