Preparation of High Surface Area, Large Pore Volume Alumina by Using β-Cyclodextrin as a Non-surfactant Template

A series of alumina samples were prepared using β-cyclodextrin as the non-surfactant template. These samples were characterized by XRD, BET and TEM. The results showed that the alumina samples prepared using β-cyclodextrin template had the higher surface areas （124-484 m^2/g）, larger pore volumes （0.7-1.27 mL/g） and more thermal stability than samples prepared without using β-cyclodextrin.

This work describes the development of a capillary electrophoresis （CE） method for the simultaneous separation of acetophenone （AP）, 2-hydroxyacetophenone （2-HAP）, 3-hydroxyacetophenone （3-HAP） and 4-hydroxyacetophenone （4-HAP） in synthetic mixtures using 10 mmol/L of sodium tetraborate buffer （pH 9.5）. The aim of this work is to demonstrate the effectiveness of CE to separate AP and its monohydroxy isomers and to define how the separations are affected by buffers, buffer pH, sample matrices and separation voltage. This method was successfully used for the trace level separation and determination of 2-HAP, 3-HAP and 4-HAP in synthetic mixture and 4-HAP in spiked plasma samples.

Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation(r TMS)has been shown to effectively improve impaired swallowing in Parkinson's disease(PD)patients with ***,little is known about how r TMS affects the corresponding brain regions in this patient *** this casecontrol study,we examined data from 38 PD patients with dysphagia who received treatment at Beijing Rehabilitation Medicine Academy,Capital Medical *** patients received high-frequency r TMS of the motor cortex once per day for 10 successive *** in brain activation were compared via functional magnetic resonance imaging in PD patients with dysphagia and healthy *** results revealed that before treatment,PD patients with dysphagia showed greater activation in the precentral gyrus,supplementary motor area,and cerebellum compared with healthy controls,and this enhanced activation was weakened after ***,before treatment,PD patients with dysphagia exhibited decreased activation in the parahippocampal gyrus,caudate nucleus,and left thalamus compared with healthy controls,and this activation increased after *** addition,PD patients with dysphagia reported improved subjective swallowing sensations after r *** findings suggest that swallowing function in PD patients with dysphagia improved after r TMS of the motor *** may have been due to enhanced activation of the caudate nucleus and parahippocampal *** study protocol was approved by the Ethics Committee of Beijing Rehabilitation Hospital of Capital Medical University(approval No.2018 bkky017)on March 6,2018 and was registered with Chinese Clinical Trial Registry(registration *** CTR 1800017207)on July 18,2018.

The yield ratios of neutron-proton(R(n/p))and^(3)H-^(3)He(R(^(3)H∕^(3)He))with reduced rapidity from 0 to 0.5 were simulated at 50 MeV/u even-even ^(36−56)Ca+^(40)Ca,even-even ^(48−78)Ni+^(58)Ni,and ^(100−139)Sn(every third isotopes)+112 Sn for full reduced impact parameters using the isospin-dependent quantum molecular dynamics(IQMD)*** neutron and proton density distributions and root-mean-square radii of the reaction systems were obtained using the Skyrme-Hartree-Fock model,which was used for the phase space initialization of the projectile and target in *** defined the unified neutron skin thickness asΔRnp=^(1∕2) n−^(1∕2)p,which was negative for neutron-deficient *** unifiedΔRnp values for nuclei with the same relative neutron excess from different isotopic chains were nearly equal,except for extreme neutron-rich isotopes,which is a type of scaling *** yield ratios of the three isotopic chain-induced reactions,which depended on the reduced impact parameter and unified neutron skin thickness,were *** results showed that both R(n/p)and R(^(3)H∕^(3)He)decreased with a reduced impact parameter for extreme neutron-deficient isotopes;however,they increased with reduced impact parameters for extreme neutron-rich isotopes,and increased with theΔRnp of the projectiles for all reduced impact *** addition,a scaling phenomenon was observed betweenΔR np and the yield ratios in peripheral colli-sions from different isotopic chain projectiles(except for extreme neutron-rich isotopes).Thus,R(n/p)and R(^(3)H∕^(3)He)from peripheral collisions were suggested as experimental probes for extracting the neutron or proton skin thicknesses of non-extreme neutron-rich nuclei from different isotopic chains.

Copper(0)-mediated reversible-deactivation radical polymerization(Cu(0)-mediated RDRP) of the water-soluble monomer Nisopropylacrylamide(NIPAM) has been challenging with the problems of high dispersity, poor control over the molecular weights(MWs) or complex or multi reaction steps, etc. In this work, we report the well-controlled polymerization of NIPAM in water via a facile one-pot and one-step Cu(0)-mediated RDRP. The results of this approach show that the key for kicking off the Cu(0)-mediated NIPAM RDRPs is to ensure sufficient Cu~I at the very beginning, and the key to achieve a well-controlled chain growth is to provide adequate deactivation strength during the polymerization process. For NIPAM, which has a high propagation rate constant, the deactivation control can be effectively enhanced by extra adding deactivator(i.e., Cu~II) to the system. Moreover, a low reaction temperature(4 ℃) is necessary in the controlled synthesis of higher MW poly(Nisopropylacrylamide)(PNIPAM) to avoid the compromise in control caused by the phase transition from its lower critical solution temperature(LCST). Through this new kinetically controlled strategy, PNIPAMs with well-defined structure, narrow molecular weight distributions(MWDs) and varied MWs were successfully achieved.

Microplastics(MPs)have become a significant concern for their potential ***,the correlation between the size of plastic particles and their toxicity remains ***,we investigate the toxic effects of different sizes(80 nm,800 nm,8μm and 80μm)polystyrene MPs(PS-MPs)on the model organism Nile tilapia(Oreochromis niloticus).The results of bioluminescent imaging indicate that the 80 nm PS-MPs are more likely to invade the body.H&E staining shows severe damage on the intestinal villi and distinct hepatic steatosis in the 80 nm *** U labeling shows that the proliferation activity of intestinal and liver cells reduces significantly in the 80 nm *** gut microbiome analysis shows a severe imbalance of gut microbiota homeostasis in the 80 nm *** analysis of liver transcriptomics and metabolomics shows that the liver lipid metabolism is disordered in the 80 nm *** conclusion,this study confirms that the 80 nm PS-MPs are more likely to induce intestinal and liver *** the above lay the foundation for further study on the pathological damage of MPs to other organisms.
