Soft electrochemical actuators that can generate mechanical motions in response to electrical stimuli can be used as artificial muscles in microscale *** electrode materials are the key component of the electrochemical actuator because they limit the ion diffusion and accumulation processes and thus affect the deformation in fast response-time and potential engineering ***-dimensional materials,such as one-dimensional(1D)CNT and two-dimensional(2D)vertically stood WS_(2),are great electrode due to their good electrochemical stability and high surface-to-volume ratios,but show limited performances when being used on their own in the actuators because of low reconstruction or low conductivity.A combination of 1D CNT and 2D WS_(2)could form a heterojunction with both high electrochemical activity and great mechanical ***,by depositing highly disordered graphene nanosheets(HDGNs)on CNT films and then WS_(2)on the formed low-dimensional nanocarbon film,a hybrid WS_(2)/HDGN/CNT film was synthesized through a multistep CVD *** grown WS_(2)nanosheets were achieved by taking advantage of HDGNs which limits CNTs ***,the volume expansion caused by the transition from WO_(3)to WS-2can force the vertical growth of WS_(2).This hybrid film shows excellent electrochemical properties,such as high specific capacitance and high rate *** actuators based on the WS_(2)/HDGN/CNT films show good actuating performance,including stability and reconfigurability.

Lithospheric strength of the Anatolian plateau and implications for strong earthquake activity in Turkey

On February 6, 2023, the doublet earthquake including two main shocks with magnitudes M_(W)7.8 and M_(W)7.5, occurred near the western side of the East Anatolian Fault at the southeast boundary of the Anatolian Plateau in Turkey. Based on the WGM2012 Bouguer gravity anomaly data and the Etopo1topography data, this study first introduced a joint inversion of admittance and coherence functions and used the Bayesian optimal parameter estimation method to obtain the effective elastic thickness Teand loading ratio F of the lithosphere for various tectonic units in the Anatolian Plateau. Secondly, we discussed the characteristics and influencing factors of the lithospheric mechanical strength and analyzed its relationship with seismic activity. The lithospheric mechanical strength of the Anatolian Plateau showed clear lateral heterogeneity and a "weak-strong-weak" spatial pattern from east to west,reflecting various tectonic processes. At last, the strong seismic activity was found where the lithospheric strength was low in the Anatolian Plate. We also incorporated GPS strain rate and other results to investigate the tectonic background and primary causes of the M_(W)7.8 and M_(W)7.5 doublet earthquakes in Turkey. The results have a good insight into urban safety design in the Turkish region, including postdisaster rehabilitation, earthquake hazard assessment, and loss reduction.

Analysis of metabolic characteristics of metabolic syndrome in elderly patients with gastric cancer by non-targeted metabolomics

BACKGROUND The relationship between metabolic syndrome(MetS)and gastric cancer(GC),which is a common metabolic disease,has attracted much ***,the specific metabolic characteristics of MetS in elderly patients with GC remain *** To investigate the differentially abundant metabolites and metabolic pathways between preoperative frailty and MetS in elderly patients with GC based on nontargeted metabolomics *** In this study,125 patients with nonfrail nonmeal GC were selected as the control group,and 50 patients with GC in the frail group were selected as the frail ***-five patients with GC combined with MetS alone were included in the MetS group,and 50 patients with GC combined with MetS were included in the MetS *** metabolomics techniques were used to measure plasma metabolite levels by ultrahigh-performance liquid chromatography-mass *** statistical analysis was performed by principal component analysis,orthogonal partial least squares,pattern recognition analysis,cluster analysis,and metabolic pathway *** A total of 125 different metabolites,including amino acids,glycerophospholipids,sphingolipids,fatty acids,sugars,nucleosides and nucleotides,and acidic compounds,were identified via nontargeted metabolomics *** with those in the control group,there were 41,32,and 52 different metabolites in the MetS group,the debilitated group,and the combined group,*** metabolites were significantly increased in the MetS *** the weak group,amino acids and most glycerol phospholipid metabolites decreased significantly,and fatty acids and sphingosine increased *** combined group was characterized by significantly increased levels of nucleotide metabolites and acidic *** alanine,aspartic acid,and glutamate metabolic pathways were obviously enriched in the asthenic group,and the glycerol and phospholipid metabolic pathways were obv

Production of Functional Materials Derived from Regenerated Silk Fibroin by Utilizing 3D Printing and Biomimetic Enzyme-induced Mineralization

Critical-sized bone defects, commonly encountered in clinical orthopedic surgery, present a significant challenge. One of the promising solutions is to prepare synthetic bone substitute materials with precise structural control, mechanical compatibility, and enhanced osteogenic induction performance, nevertheless the successful preparation of such materials remains difficult. In this study, a two-step technique,integrating an extrusion-based printing process with biomimetic mineralization induced by alkaline phosphatase(ALP), was developed. Initially,a pre-cured hydrogel of regenerated silk fibroin(RSF) with a small quantity of hydroxypropyl cellulose(HPC) and ALP was prepared through heating the mixed aqueous solution. This pre-cured hydrogel demonstrated thixotropic property and could be directly extruded into predetermined structures through a 3D-printer. Subsequently, the 3D-printed RSF-based materials with ALP underwent biomimetic in situ mineralization in calcium glycerophosphate(Ca-GP) mineralizing solution, utilizing the polymer chains of RSF as templates and ALP as a trigger for cleaving phosphate bonds of Ca-GP. The resulting 3D-printed RSF-mineral composites including hydrogel and sponge possessed adjustable compression modulus of megapascal grade and variable hydroxyapatite content, which could be controlled by manipulating the duration of the mineralization ***, these 3D-printed RSF-mineral composites demonstrated non-cytotoxicity towards rat bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells. Therefore, they may hold great potential for applications involving the replacement of tissues characterized by osteoinductivity and intricate structures.

Molecular solid solution of lanthanide-titanium-oxo clusters with enhanced photocatalytic hydrogen evolution

Molecular solid solutions of metal clusters containing different metal centers with well-defined structures can accurately regulate the HOMO-LUMO gap,but are rarely ***,a series of colorless lanthanide-titanium-oxo clusters Ln_(2)Ti_4(μ_(2)-O)_(2)(μ_(3)-O)_4(Piv)_(10)(THF)_(2)(Ln_(2)Ti_4,Ln = Eu,Gd,Tb,and Ce,HPiv = pivalic acid) were synthesized by the reaction of pivalic acid with Ln(Ac)_(3) and titanium *** light yellow crystal of cluster solid solutions Eu_(2)Ti_(4-x)Cd_(x),containing a mixture of Eu_(2)Ti_4 and Eu_(2)Ti_(3)Cd,was obtained by in situ doping Cd^(2+) and S^(2–).Eu_(2)Ti_(3.92)Cd_(0.08) displays efficient photocatalytic hydrogen evolution activity without a co-catalyst,which is up to 2.6 times that of Eu_(2)Ti_*** time-resolved transient absorption spectroscopy and spin-polarized density functional calculations showed that the enhanced photocatalytic performance of Eu_(2)Ti_(4-x)Cd_(x) can be attributed to the narrower HOMO-LUMO gap and lower LUMO position than that of Eu_(2)Ti_*** studyprovides an in situ doping method to realize the simple preparation of cluster solid solution.

The phase field method is playing an increasingly important role in understanding and predicting morphological evolution in materials and biological ***,we develop a new analytical approach based on the bifurcation analysis to explore the mathematical solution structure of phase field *** such solution structures not only is of great mathematical interest but also may provide guidance to experimentally or computationally uncover new morphological evolution phenomena in materials undergoing electronic and structural phase *** elucidate the idea,we apply this analytical approach to three representative phase field equations:the Allen-Cahn equation,the Cahn-Hilliard equation,and the Allen-Cahn-Ohta-Kawasaki *** solution structures of these three phase field equations are also verified numerically by the homotopy continuation method.

Boosting the electrochromic properties by large V_(2)O_(5)nanobelts interlayer spacing tuned via PEDOT

Vanadium pentoxide(V_(2)O_(5))with a layered structure is of great interest in the field of electrochromic(EC)due to its abundance of color ***,there are still a series of problems such as slow ion diffusion,poor electronic conductivity and cyclic stability in the reaction ***,we successfully prepared a stable and fast multi-color electrochromic material V_(2)O_(5)-PEDOT by a simple“one-pot”*** layer space of V_(2)O_(5)could be tuned by 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene(named V_(2)O_(5)-PEDOT)during the dissolution and recrystallization of vanadium *** expanded layer spacing facilitates rapid ion insertion and *** serves as an internal conductive pillar to improve the overall conductivity of the *** obtained intercrossing structure of the nanobelts shortens the ion diffusion distance and ensures electrolyte *** V_(2)O_(5)-PEDOT exhibits the fast response time(1.1 s for coloration and 3.5 s for bleaching at 422 nm),high optical contrast(ΔT=45%at 422 nm andΔT=35.2%at 1000 nm),great coloration efficiency(CE=97.1 cm2/C),and high cyclic stability(86%preserved after 3000 cycles).The electrochromic devices(ECD)were successfully assembled by using V_(2)O_(5)-PEDOT films as ion storage layers and electrochromic layers,demonstrating remarkable performance.

Learning the imaging mechanism directly from optical microscopy observations

The optical microscopy image plays an important role in scientific research through the direct visualization of the nanoworld,where the imaging mechanism is described as the convolution of the point spread function(PSF)and *** on a priori knowledge of the PSF or equivalent PSF,it is possible to achieve more precise exploration of the ***,it is an outstanding challenge to directly extract the PSF from microscopy ***,with the help of self-supervised learning,we propose a physics-informed masked autoencoder(PiMAE)that enables a learnable estimation of the PSF and emitters directly from the raw microscopy *** demonstrate our method in synthetic data and real-world experiments with significant accuracy and noise *** outperforms DeepSTORM and the Richardson–Lucy algorithm in synthetic data tasks with an average improvement of 19.6%and 50.7%(35 tasks),respectively,as measured by the normalized root mean square error(NRMSE)*** is achieved without prior knowledge of the PSF,in contrast to the supervised approach used by DeepSTORM and the known PSF assumption in the Richardson–Lucy *** method,PiMAE,provides a feasible scheme for achieving the hidden imaging mechanism in optical microscopy and has the potential to learn hidden mechanisms in many more systems.

Astronomical forcing and sedimentary noise modeling of lake-level changes in the Middle Eocene Chezhen Sag,Bohai Bay Basin,eastern China

The accurate determination of geological age is a key to understanding the history and process of paleolake evolution and oil and gas exploration in continental lake ***,improving the accuracy of geological age has always been a difficult scientific problem.A 609-m-thick,continuous lacustrine mudstone and sandstone succession in Chezhen Sag(eastern China)provides an ideal middle Eocene sedimentary record for establishing a high-resolution stratigraphic chronology *** on spectrum analysis and sliding window spectrum analysis of the natural gamma(GR)logging data of well Che 271(C271)in Chezhen Sag,the periods of 405 kyr and 40.1 kyr were filtered by a Gaussian bandpass filter,and a“floating”astrochronological time scale(ATS)was *** total number of 405 kyr eccentricity cycles were 13.6 and 40.1 kyr obliquity cycles were 138 which recorded from the upper member 4(Es4U)to the member 3(Es3)of the Eocene Shahejie Formation,and the depositional duration was 5.53 *** Coefficient(COCO)analysis and evolutionary Correlation Coefficient(eCoCo)analysis found that the optimal sedimentary rate of different *** noise simulation revealed the history of paleolake water changes in the Middle Eocene in the Chezhen Sag,according to which four sequences are *** study shows that the lake level change of Chezhen Sag in the middle Eocene shows prominent 1.2 Myr cycles and an antiphase well-coupled relationship with obliquity ***,we propose a model to explain the relationship between the orbital cycle and lake level change in the continental lake *** the obliquity of the earth increases,the middle and high latitudes of the earth will be closer to the sun,the direct sunlight will be higher,and the meridional sunshine will increase,thus accelerating the evaporation process of lake basin *** the seasonal changes are obvious(maximum period of 1.2 Myr ultra-long obliquity),this effect is more signific
