Effects of chitosan inhibitor on the electrochemical corrosion behavior of 2205 duplex stainless steel

The effects of chitosan inhibitor on the corrosion behavior of 2205 duplex stainless steel were studied by electrochemical measurements, immersion tests, and stereology microscopy. The influences of immersion time, temperature, and chitosan concentration on the corrosion inhibition performance of chitosan were investigated. The optimum parameters of water-soluble chitosan on the corrosion inhibition performance of 2205 duplex stainless steel were also determined. The water-soluble chitosan showed excellent corrosion inhibition performance on the 2205 duplex stainless steel. Polarization curves demonstrated that chitosan acted as a mixed-type inhibitor. When the stainless steel specimen was immersed in the 0.2 g/L chitosan solution for 4 h, a dense and uniform adsorption film covered the sample surface and the inhibition efficiency(IE) reached its maximum value. Moreover, temperature was found to strongly influence the corrosion inhibition of chitosan; the inhibition efficiency gradually decreased with increasing temperature. The 2205 duplex stainless steel specimen immersed in 0.4 g/L water-soluble chitosan at 30°C displayed the best corrosion inhibition among the investigated specimens. Moreover, chitosan decreased the corrosion rate of the 2205 duplex stainless steel in an FeCl_3 solution.

The preparation approach and calibration result of an improved type of ion selective electrode （ISE）, which is used to measure the total dissolved S^2-, are introduced in this paper. The improved Ag/Ag2S electrode uses silver wire as the substrate, which is surrounded by electric polymer containing superfine silver powder. After the stabilization of the epoxy-resin, Ag2S layer was formed by chemical reaction with 0.2 mol/L （NH4）2S solution for 5 min. With Ag/AgC1 as reference electrode, the Ag/Ag2S electrode can be used to measure dissolved S^2-. The correlation between the measured potentials and the logarithm of dissolved S^2- is found to be linear, within range of the concentration of dissolved S^2- from 10^-2-10-7 mol/L. The slope of the regression line between measured potential and logarithm of dissolved S^2- is about -27.7, which agrees well with the theoretical Nernst value -29.6. Furthermore, the performance of the improved Ag/Ag2S electrode, such as the response time, sensitivity and stability, greatly outweighs the conventional Ag/Ag2S electrode.

A new Eu（III） complex, EuL3（phen）, was synthesized, where L is the abbreviation of de- protonated 1-（7-（tert-butyl）-9-ethyl-gH-carbazol-2-yl）-4,4,4-trifluorobutane-l,3-dione （HL）, phen is the abbreviation of 1,10-phenanthroline. The Eu（III） complex was characterized by element analysis, IR, 1H NMR, UV-visible absorption spectroscopy, thermogravimetric anal- ysis （TGA）, and photoluminescence measurements （PL）. TGA shows that thermal stability of the complex is up to 325 ~C. PL measurement indicates that the Eu（III） complex exhibits intense red-emission and extends their excitation bands to visible region. LEDs device was successfully fabricated by precoating complex EuL3 （phen） onto 460 nm blue-emitting InGaN chip. The emission of device shows that the complex can act as red phosphor in combination with 460 nm blue-emitting chips. This europium complex based on 1-（7-（tert-butyl）-9- ethyl-9H-carbazol-2-yl）-4,4,4-trifluorobutane-l,3-dione is a kind of interesting red-emitting material excited by blue light, which could avoid the damage of excitation by UV light.

BACKGROUND Benign lymphoepithelial cyst(BLEC)of the parotid gland is a rare benign embryonic-dysplastic cystic tumor in the anterolateral neck that occurs most commonly in human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)-positive adults and rarely in non-acquired immune deficiency syndrome *** main presentation is a slow-growing,painless mass,and secondary infection may cause acute inflammatory *** SUMMARY A 44-year-old Chinese male patient presented with a 1-year history of a mass in the left side of the *** physical examination,a mass similar in size and shape to a quail egg was found in the left parotid *** mass was tough,without tenderness,and easily *** results of HIV tests,including antibody and nucleic acid tests and CD4+T cell examination,were *** examination revealed a left parotid gland *** patient underwent surgical treatment,and BLEC was diagnosed based on postoperative *** 2years of follow-up,the patient survived well without related *** The detailed characteristics of a BLEC in a patient without HIV infection contribute to an improved understanding of this rare disease.

Robust time reversal focusing based on Maximin criterion in a waveguide with uncertain water depth

Time reversal processing （TRP） might be regarded as matched field processing with known environmental knowledge. However, the performance of TRP is degraded in an uncertain environment. A technique based on the Maximin criterion is pro- posed for enhancing the robustness of TRP in a waveguide with uncertain water depth. The relationship between the water depth and the focal spot translation is examined based on the waveguide-invariant theory. Then the time reversal transmissiou scheme with the Maximin criterion is performed to maximize the minimum transmission power on a target of interest. At the receiving end, coherent summation operation is carried out over the received data by a reception focusing bank. If it is neces- sary to enhance the target echo further, the iterative time reversal can be considered where the target echo corresponding to the first time reversal transmission is regarded as a secondary source. Numerical simulations and experimental results of the target localization in a waveguide tank have verified the effectiveness of robust TRP.

Synthesis of kalsilite from microcline powder by an alkali-hydrothermal process

The properties of aluminosilicate kalsilite have attracted the interest of researchers in chemical synthesis, ceramic industry, biofuels, etc. In this study, kalsilite was hydrothermally synthesized from microcline powder in a KOH solution. The microcline powder, rich in potassium, aluminum, and silicon, was collected from Mountain Changling in Northwestem China. The effects of temperature, time, and KOH concentration on the decomposition of microcline were investigated. The kalsilite and intermediate products were characterized by means of wet chemistry analysis, X-ray Diffraction （XRD）, infi＇ared spectrometry （IR）, 29Si magic angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance （29Si MAS NMR）, 27A1 MAS NMR, and scanning electron microscope （SEM）. With increasing temperature, the microcline powder transforms into a metastable KAlSiO4 polymorph before transforming further into pure kalsilite. A mixture of both kalsilite and metastable KAlSiO4 polymorph is obtained when the hydrothermal reaction is carried out within 2 h; but after 2 h, kalsilite is the predominant product. The concentration of KOH, which needs to be larger than 4.3 M, is an important parameter influencing the synthesis ofkalsilite.

The change of inclusions and microstructure of 16Mn steel treated by Ce were observed,and the effect of austenitizing temperature on the microstructure was also *** results show that the inclusions are transformed from Si-Mn-Al composite oxide and MnS into AlCeO3,Ce2O2S,and MnS composite inclusions after being treated by *** of intragranular ferrites are formed in 16Mn steel containing～0.017wt% Ce.A large amount of intragranular acicular ferrites are formed after being austenitized for 20min at 1473 *** prior austenite grain size fit for the formation of intragranular acicular ferrites is about 120μm.

Remarkable developments in image recognition technology trigger demands for more advanced imaging *** recent years,traditional image sensors,as the go-to imaging devices,have made substantial progress in their optoelectronic characteristics and ***,a new breed of imaging device with information processing capability,known as neuromorphic vision sensors,is developed by mimicking biological *** this review,we delve into the recent progress of imaging devices,specifically image sensors and neuromorphic vision *** review starts by introducing their core components,namely photodetectors and photonic synapses,while placing a strong emphasis on device structures,working mechanisms and key performance *** it proceeds to summarize the noteworthy achievements in both image sensors and neuromorphic vision sensors,including advancements in large-scale and highresolution imaging,filter-free multispectral recognition,polarization sensitivity,flexibility,hemispherical designs,and self-power supply of image sensors,as well as in neuromorphic imaging and data processing,environmental adaptation,and ultra-low power consumption of neuromorphic vision ***,the challenges and prospects that lie ahead in the ongoing development of imaging devices are addressed.
