Oxidation pathway and kinetics of titania slag powders during cooling process in air

The oxidation pathway and kinetics of titania slag powders in air were analyzed using differential scanning calorimetry(DSC)and thermogravimetry(TG).The oxidation pathway of titania slag powder in air was divided into three stages according to their three exothermic peaks and three corresponding mass gain stages indicated by the respective non-isothermal DSC and TG *** isothermal oxidation kinetics of high titania slag powders of different sizes were analyzed using the ln-ln analysis *** results revealed that the entire isothermal oxidation process comprises two *** kinetic mechanism of the first stage can be described as f(α) = 1.77(1-α) [-ln (1-α)]^((1.77-1)/1.77),f(α)= 1.97(1-α) [-ln (1-α)]^((1.97-1)/1.97),and f (α) = 1.18(1-α) [-ln (1-α)]^((1.18-1)/1.18).The kinetic mechanism of the second stage for all samples can be described as f (α)=1.5(1-α)^(2/3)[1-(1-α)^(1/3)]^(-1).The activation energies of titania slag powders with different sizes(d_(1)he given experimental conditions,the rate-controlling step in the first oxidation stage of all the samples is a chemical *** rate-controlling steps of the second oxidation stage are a chemical reaction and internal diffusion(for powders d_(1)<0.075 mm)and internal diffusion(for powders 0.125 mm

Effects of traditional heat treatment and a novel deep cryogenic treatment on microstructure and mechanical properties of low-carbon high-alloy martensitic bearing steel

The effects of traditional heat treatment(quenching and then tempering)and deep cryogenic treatment on the microstructure and mechanical properties of a low-carbon high-alloy martensitic bearing steel were studied by Rockwell hardness test,X-ray diffractometry,scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron *** results show that the deep cryogenic treatment promotes the transformation of the retained austenite to martensite during cooling,which leads to the hardness of the sample after deep cryogenic treatment higher than that at the quenched ***,the carbon content in the martensite matrix after different treatments was calculated and the results indicated that deep cryogenic treatment can promote the segregation of carbon atoms in martensite to *** segregated carbon atoms act as and grow into nuclei for the formation of fine carbide particles during subsequent *** this resulted in the fact that the hardness of the tempered experimental steel after deep cryogenic treatment is higher than that without deep cryogenic treatment.

Preparation of high acidity coefficient slag wool fiber with blast furnace slag and modifying agents

Preparation of high acidity coefficient slag wool fiber with molten slag and modifying agents is considered to be a positive approach for value-added utilization of blast furnace slag. In order to achieve the multi-purposes of fiber-forming, energy saving, and waste heat recovery, the modifying agents that can improve the acidity coefficient of slag effectively, economically, and environmentally were investigated. Three agents with different acidity coefficients were adopted to modify slag and manufacture wool fibers. The effect of agent and slag proportion on the melting temperature and viscosity of molten slag was studied at a fixed acidity coefficient of 1.8 and 2.0. The results indicate that the sample modified with high acidity coefficient agent and high slag proportion has lower melting temperature and viscosity. The effect of agent and slag temperature on the fiber diameter was also investigated when the acidity coefficient of slag is 2.0. At a fixed slag proportion of 50 wt.%, the mean diameter decreases with increasing temperature and decreasing viscosity coefficient. Besides, the temperature drops caused by the addition of agents and energy consumption of samples for heating the slag were also analyzed.

Pulmonary mucormycosis is an uncommon and often fatal opportunistic fungal infection caused by fungi in the class zygomycetes of the order mucorales. As a rare clinical entity characterized by acute onset, rapid progression and high mortality rate, pulmonary mucormycosis often results in fatal consequences within two years after the onset, and can be easily misdiagnosed. here we report a case of pulmonary mucormycosis for which a definite diagnosis had not been established until 6 years after the initial onset.

One of the primary goals of space-borne gravitational wave detectors is to detect and analyze extreme-mass-ratio inspirals(EM-RIs).This task is particularly challenging because EMRI signals are complex,lengthy,and *** this work,we introduce a 2-layer convolutional neural network(CNN)approach to detect EMRI signals for space-borne detectors,achieving a true positive rate(TPR)of 96.9%at a 1%false positive rate(FPR)for signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)from 50 to ***,the key intrinsic parameters of EMRIs such as the mass,spin of the supermassive black hole(SMBH)and the initial eccentricity of the orbit can also be inferred directly by employing a neural *** mass and spin of the SMBH can be determined at 99%and 92%*** will greatly reduce the parameter spaces and computing cost for the following Bayesian parameter *** model also has a low dependency on the accuracy of the waveform *** study underscores the potential of deep learning methods in EMRI data analysis,enabling the rapid detection of EMRI signals and efficient parameter estimation.

Facilitation of microbialite development by continental weathering in the Cambrian Zhangxia Formation,southern North China Block

We report geochemical data for carbonate rocks from the Cambrian Zhangxia Formation,southern North China Block,including trace-element contents and C,O,and Sr isotopic compositions,to determine the controls on the development of microbialites in this *** sedimentary environment of the Zhangxia Formation evolved from carbonate-slope through platform-margin-reef to ooid-shoal,and then to open-platform settings,corresponding to the development of micrites,microbialites,and oolitic *** data show that δ13C values decrease upwards through the Zhangxia Formation,from 0.99‰to-1.59‰,whereas δ18O values increase from-9.91‰to-7.10‰.Total rare earth element （REE）contents decrease upwards through the stratigraphy,and the contents of Th and Sc show a similar trend.87Sr/86Sr ratios reach a maximum of 0.710544 in the horizons of microbialite development,Member 2 of the Zhangxia Formation,above which the ratios are uniform,with a mean value of *** these geochemical data with the inferred sedimentary evolution,the Zhangxia Formation is interpreted to have formed in a depositional environment that changed from transgression to *** weathering played a crucial role in promoting the input of terrigenous materials,which in turn favored the development of microbialites during the early stage of deposition of the Zhangxia Formation.

Rice bacterial blight is a devastating disease worldwide,causing significant yield *** how plants defend against microbial infection is critical for sustainable crop *** this study,we show that ALEX1,a previously identified pathogen-induced long noncoding RNA,localizes to the nucleus and directly binds AUXIN RESPONSE FACTOR 3(ARF3).We showed that ARF3 forms the condensates in the nucleus via its intrinsically disordered middle region(MR),and that these ARF3 condensates display solid-like *** further revealed that ALEX1 directly binds the MR of ARF3 to regulate ARF3 condensate dynamics and promote ARF3 *** dispersed,dimeric form of ARF3,referred to as its functional phase state,enhances its ability to transcriptionally repress the expression of downstream target genes such as JAZ13,thereby modulating the jasmonic acid signaling pathway and enhancing pathogen resistance in ***,this study reveals the role of a long noncoding RNA in regulating protein condensation and complex assembly,thus contributing to plant pathogen resistance.

Nano high-entropy oxide cathode with enhanced stability for direct borohydride fuel cells

High-entropy materials have become high-activity electrocatalysis owing to their high-entropy effect and multiple active ***,we synthesize a series of carbon-supported nano high-entropy oxides(heOs/C),specifically (PtFeCoNiCu)O/C,using a carbothermal shock (CTS) method for application as a cathode catalyst in direct borohydride fuel cells (DBFCs).The microstructure of the prepared catalysts was characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy,X-ray absorption fine structure,and transmission electron *** prepared (PtFeCoNiCu)O/C,with particle sizes ranging from 2 to 4 nm,demonstrates 3.94 transferred electrons towards the oxygen reduction reaction in an alkaline environment,resulting in a minimal H_(2)O_(2)yield of 2.6%.Additionally,it exhibits a Tafel slope of 61 mV dec-1,surpassing that of commercial Pt/C (82 mV dec-1).Furthermore,after 40,000 cycles of cyclic voltammetry(CV) testing,the half-wave potential of (PtFeCoNiCu)O/C shows a positive shift of 3 mV,with no notable decline in the limiting current *** (PtFeCoNiCu)O/C is used as a cathode catalyst in DBFCs,the DBFC achieves a maximum power density of 441 mW cm^(-2)at 60°C and sustains a cell voltage of approximately 0.73 V after 52 h at 30°*** findings confirm that heO/C is a promising cathode catalyst for DBFCs.
