In this paper, the microstructure evolution of the rapidly solidified (RS) Mg61.7Zn34Gd4.3 (at%, atomic ratio) alloy at high temperatures was investigated. The hardness and elastic modulus of the main precipitated phases were also analyzed and compared with those of the α-Mg matrix on the basis of nanoindentation tests. The results show that the RS alloy consists of either a petal-like icosahedral quasicrystal (IQC) phase (~20 μm) and block-shaped H1 phase (~15 μm) or IQC particles with an average grain size of ~107 nm as well as a small proportion of amorphous phase, which mainly depends on the holding time at the liquid temperature and the thickness of the ribbons. The IQC phase gradually transforms at 400?C to a short-rod-shaped μ-phase (Mg28.6Zn63.8Gd7.7) with a hexagonal structure. The hardness of the IQC phase is higher than that of H1 phase, and both phases exhibit a higher hardness than the α-Mg matrix and the μ-phase. The elasticity of the H1 phase is superior to that of the α-Mg matrix. The IQC phase possesses a higher elastic modulus than H1 phase. The easily formed H1 phase exhibits the poorest plastic deformation capacity among these phases but a higher elastic modulus than the α-Mg matrix.

In this paper,a large-sized ingot of Mg–9Gd–3Y–1.5Zn–0.5Zr(wt%) alloy with a diameter of 600 mm was successfully prepared by the semi-continuous casting *** alloy was subsequently annealed at a relatively low temperature of 430°C for 12 h as a homogenization *** microstructure and room-temperature mechanical properties of the alloy were investigated *** results show that the as-cast alloy contained a mass of discontinuous lamellar-shaped 18 R long-period stacking ordered(LPSO) phases with a composition of Mg10 Zn Y and an α-Mg matrix,along with net-shaped Mg5(Y,Gd) eutectic compounds at the grain *** of the eutectic compounds dissolved after the homogenization ***,the amount and dimensions of the lamellar-shaped LPSO phase obviously increased after the homogenization *** structure of the phase transformed into 14H-type LPSO with composition Mg12Zn(Y,Gd).The mechanical properties of the heat-treated large-sized alloy ingot are *** ultimate tensile strength(UTS) and tensile yield strength(TYS) of the alloy reached 207.2 MPa and 134.8 MPa,respectively,and the elongation was 3.4%.The high performances of the large-sized alloy ingot after the homogenization treatment is attributed to the strengthening of the α-Mg solid solution and to the plentiful LPSO phase distributed over the α-Mg matrix.

Embedding specific signatures in transmitted signals for identifying common control channels of cognitive radio are addressed in research laboratories because availability of the spectrum occupied by the common control channel might change in time. A novel solution to embed a unique cyclostationary signature for the common control channel of cognitive radio is proposed in this article. Based on linear periodically time-variant transformation （LPTV） model, the cyclic autocorrelation expression of the proposed signature is derived, which characterizes its cyclostationarity. Analysis of the cyclostationary signature is presented considering effects of additive white Gaussian noise （AWGN） and multiplath channels. Simulation results illustrating the reliability of signatures are given.

An improved model for bending of thin viscoe-lastic plate resting on Winkler foundation is presented. The thin plate is linear viscoelastic and subjected to normal distributed loading, the effect of normal stress along the plate thickness on the deflection and internal forces is taken into account. The basic equations for internal forces and stress distribution are derived based on the general viscoelastic theory under small deformation condition. The reduced equations for elastic case are given as well. It is shown that the proposed model reveals a larger flex-ural rigidity compared to that in classic models, in which the normal stress along the plate thickness is neglected.

The effects of calcined lead--zirconate-titanate(PZT)powders on the electric properties of PZT/polyvinylidene-tifluorethylene copolymer(PVDF-TrFE)composites thick films were studied in this ***,the PZT powders synthesized by hydrothermal method were calcined at different temperatures ranging from 300℃ to 900℃,and then the PZT/PVDF-TrFE composites films were produced by casting PZT/PVDF-TrFE suspension onto the indium-tin-oxide(ITO)-coated glass *** properties,including dielectric and pyroelectric performances of thick films consisting of PZT powders calcined at different temperatures were *** highest pyroelectric cofficient obtained in the sample using 700℃ calcined PZT powders was 96μCm^(-2)K^(-1),which was 20%higher than the composites made of uncalcined ***,the highest detectivity figure-of merit(FOM)(FD)of the composite was 1.36×10^(-5)Pa^(-1/2),which increased about 13.5%compared to the one using uncalcined powders.

This paper reports on the study of the black gold thin film as the absorption layer in the near infrared spectrum. The fabrication of the black gold thin film was achieved by a thermal evaporation technique in N2 atmosphere. Different evaporation conditions were attempted to optimize the absorbance of the black gold coating, especially the atmosphere pressure and the mass of evaporation source. The long-standing problem of black gold’s adhesion with the substrate was solved by fuming 502 superglues into the black gold layer, which had almost no impact on the absorbance performance. Layers produced at N2 atmosphere of 3×103 Pa show an absorbance exceeding0.9 inthe near infrared.

The study by Yang et al presents a comprehensive investigation into the thera-peutic potential of curcumin for gastric cancer(GC).Using network pharma-cology,the researchers identified 48 curcumin-related genes,31 of which overlap with GC *** genes,including ESR1,EGFR,CYP3A4,MAPK14,CYP1A2,and CYP2B6,are linked to poor survival in GC *** docking con-firmed strong binding affinity of curcumin to these *** vitro experiments demonstrated that curcumin effectively inhibits the growth and proliferation of BGC-823,suggesting its therapeutic potential in GC through multiple targets and pathways.

BACKGROUND Primary squamous cell carcinoma(SCC)of the renal parenchyma is extremely rare,with only nine cases *** SUMMARY This study reports a 51-year-old man with primary SCC of the renal *** patient was admitted with recurrent dull pain and discomfort in the right lumbar region,which had worsened over 2 weeks,accompanied by painful gross *** antigen(SCCA)levels were elevated,and imaging revealed a renal mass with associated *** patient underwent laparoscopic unilateral nephrectomy and lymph node *** pathology confirmed highly differentiated SCC with necrosis in the right renal parenchyma,with negative renal pelvis and *** pathological stage was *** months after surgery,the tumor recurred with involvement of the liver,right psoas major muscle,and inferior vena *** patient refused chemotherapy and succumbed to the disease 6 months postoperatively due to disease *** We report a case of primary SCC of the renal parenchyma,a rare renal *** clinical symptoms,laboratory tests,and imaging findings are nonspecific,making accurate and timely diagnosis *** to the literature,for patients with renal calculi accompanied by a renal mass,elevated serum SCCA levels,and magnetic resonance imaging showing cystic or cystic-solid masses within the kidney with pseudocapsules and heterogeneous mild enhancement,the possibility of this disease should be considered.
