Drug repurposing offers an efficient approach to therapeutic *** this study,our bioinformatic analysis first predicted an association between obesity and lansoprazole(LPZ),a commonly prescribed drug for gastrointestinal *** went on to show that LPZ treatment increased energy expenditure and alleviated the high-fat diet-induced obesity,insulin resistance,and hepatic stea-tosis in *** with LPZ elicited thermogenic gene expression and mitochondrial respiration in primary adipocytes,and induced cold tolerance in cold-exposed mice,suggesting the activity of LPZ in promoting adipose thermogenesis and energy ***,LPZ is an efficient inhibitor of adipose phosphocholine phosphatase 1(PHOSPHOI)and produces metabolic benefits in a PHOS-PHO1-dependent *** results suggested that LPZ may stimulate adipose thermogenesis by inhi-biting the conversion of 2-arachidonoylglycerol-lysophosphatidic acid(2-AG-LPA)to 2-arachidonoylglycerol(2-AG)and reduce the activity of the thermogenic-suppressive cannabinoid recep-tor *** summary,we have uncovered a novel therapeutic indication and mechanism of LPZ in managing obesity and its related metabolic syndrome,and identified a potential metabolic basis by which LPZ improves energy metabolism.

The backreaming operation plays a significant role in safe drilling for horizontal wellbores, while it may cause severe stuck pipe accidents. To lower the risk of the stuck pipe in backreaming operations, the mechanism of cuttings transport needs to be carefully investigated. In this research, a transient cuttings transport with multiple flow patterns model is developed to predict the evolution of cuttings transported in the annulus while backreaming. The established model can provide predictions of the distribution of cuttings bed along the wellbore considering the bulldozer effect caused by large-size drilling tools(LSDTs). The sensitivity analyses of the size of LSDTs, and backreaming operating parameters are conducted in Section 4. And a new theory is proposed to explain the mechanism of cuttings transport in the backreaming operation, in which both the bit and LSDTs have the “cleaning effect” and “plugging effect”.The results demonstrate that the cuttings bed in annuli is in a state of dynamic equilibrium, but the overall trend and the distribution pattern are obvious. First, larger diameters and longer drilling tools could lead to a higher risk of the stuck pipe. Second, we find that it is not the case that the higher flow rate is always better for hole cleaning, so three flow-rate intervals are discussed separately under the given conditions. When the “dangerous flow rate”(litates borehole cleaning. If the flow rate is large enough to be in the “high flow rate” interval(>35 L/s in Case 4),the higher the flow rate, the better the cleaning effect of cuttings beds. Gravitational waves(GWs) from compact binary coalescences encode the absolute luminosity distances of GW sources. Once the redshifts of GW sources are known, one can use the distance-redshift relation to constrain cosmological parameters. One way to obtain the redshifts is to localize GW sources by GW observations and then use galaxy catalogs to determine redshifts from a statistical analysis of redshift information of the potential host galaxies, commonly referred to as the dark siren method. The third-generation(3G) GW detectors are planned to work in the 2030s and will observe numerous compact binary *** these GW events as dark sirens requires high-quality galaxy catalogs from future sky survey projects. The China Space Station Telescope(CSST) will be launched in 2024 and will observe billions of galaxies within a 17500 deg^(2) survey area with redshift up to z ~ 4, providing photometric and spectroscopic galaxy catalogs. In this work, we simulate the CSST galaxy catalogs and the 5-year GW data from the 3G GW detectors and combine them to infer the Hubble constant(H_(0)). Our results show that the measurement precision of H0could reach the sub-percent level, meeting the standard of precision cosmology. We conclude that the synergy between CSST and the 3G GW detectors is of great significance in measuring the Hubble constant.

Deepsea mining has been proposed since the 1960s to alleviate the lack of resources on *** hydraulic transport of collected ores from the seabed to the sea surface is considered the most promising method for industrial *** the present study,an indoor model test of the vertical hydraulic transport of particles was conducted.A noncontact optical method has been proposed to measure the local characteristics of the particles inside a vertical pipe,including the local concentration and particle *** hydraulic gradient of ore transport was evaluated with various particle size distributions,particle densities,feeding concentrations and mixture flow *** transport,the local concentration is larger than the feeding concentration,whereas the particle velocity is less than the mixture *** qualitative effects of the local concentration and local fluid velocity on the particle velocity and slip velocity were *** local fluid velocity contributes significantly to particle velocity and slip velocity,whereas the effect of the local concentration is marginal.A higher feeding concentration and mixture flow velocity result in an increased hydraulic *** effect of the particle size gradation is slight,whereas the particle density plays a crucial role in the transport.

Objective Cognitive impairment(CI)in older individuals has a high morbidity rate worldwide,with poor diagnostic methods and susceptible population *** study aimed to investigate the relationship between different retinal metrics and CI in a particular population,emphasizing polyvascular *** We collected information from the Asymptomatic Polyvascular Abnormalities Community Study on retinal vessel calibers,retinal nerve fiber layer(RNFL)thickness,and cognitive function of 3,785participants,aged 40 years or *** regression was used to analyze the relationship between retinal metrics and cognitive *** stratified by different vascular statuses were also *** RNFL thickness was significantly thinner in the CI group(odds ratio:0.973,95%confidence interval:0.953–0.994).In the subgroup analysis,the difference still existed in the non-intracranial arterial stenosis,non-extracranial carotid arterial stenosis,and peripheral arterial disease subgroups(P<0.05).Conclusion A thin RNFL is associated with CI,especially in people with non-large vessel *** underlying small vessel change in RNFL and CI should be investigated in the future.

Detection and repair of composite damage is crucial to ensure the safety and reliability of aircraft structures.A novel approach to quantitatively evaluate the repair tolerance of composite structures in civil aircraft based on Bayesian updating is *** method incorporates historical damage inspection data to determine the prior distribution of damage size,which is then updated with newly collected damage size data using Bayesian *** Carlo simulation is employed to investigate the probability of failure and estimate maintenance costs,considering various factors such as the frequency and timing of damage events,damage detection,structural strength,gust loads,and maintenance expenses throughout the lifecycle of composite *** and economic factors are considered to establish a lower threshold for repairs and an upper threshold for maintenance based on the occurrence of accidental impact *** of the effectiveness and feasibility of a quantitative assessment method for repair tolerance is conducted using damage statistics data from civil aircraft routes utilizing the structural skin panels of composite outer *** results demonstrate that the method proposed in conjunction with extensive simulations and full utilization of field damage inspection data can effectively simulate unexpected impact damage situations that may occur during civil aircraft service and evaluate the reliability and economic feasibility of the repair of *** research findings hold significant theoretical and practical value for the preparation of documents for continued airworthiness of composite structures,including structural repair manuals and maintenance programs.
