In the determination of the Earth gravity field in satellite geodesy, the inclination functions represent the projection of data observed along the orbital plane of a satellite orbit into the sphere in the terrestial reference frame. The inclination functions in this work is studied from a group theoretical perspective. The inclination functions are proved to generate a representation of the SO(3) group. An orthogonal relation of the inclination functions is derived and some recurrence relations for the inclination functions are given, based on which an algorithm to calculate the inclination functions is proposed.

Photocatalytic reductive amination of biomass-derived aldehydes is a desirable way to selectively upgrade biomass into value-added nitrogen-containing chemicals under mild ***,it is challenging to produce imines in high selectivity because of the undesirable side reactions caused by the activity of functional ***,we demonstrate the highly reactive and selective production of imines from biomass derived aldehydes via the photocatalytic reductive amination,using a defective TiO_(2)supported nickel *** employment of methanol as the hydrogen donor and ammonia solution as the nitrogen source avoids the use of high-pressure H_(2)and expensive amines,rendering the current catalytic process safe,economical,and environmentally *** depth investigations attribute the improved separation and transfer of photogenerated charge carriers to the presence of oxygen vacancies and decorated Ni nanoparticles,thereby accelerating the production of imines from benzaldehyde amination(conversion,95.8%;seleetivity,95.2%).Furthermore,the developed system could be easily translated to the photocatalytic conversions of various biomass derived aldehydes,which provided an example of a cost-effective and sustainable approach for the valorization of biomass derived feedstocks.

Mechanically lined pipe(MLP)is often used for offshore oil and gas transport because of its low cost and corrosion *** installation and operation,the pipe may undergo severe bending deformation,which causes the liner to separate from the outer pipe and buckles,affecting the stability of the whole *** this paper,the buckling response of MLP subjected to bending is investigated to clarify its bending characteristics by employing both experiments,numerical simulation,as theoretical *** types of MLPs were manufactured with gB 45 carbon steel(SLP)and Al 6061(ALP)used as the outer pipe material,*** hydraulic expansion and bending experiments of small-scale MLPs are *** addition to the ovalized shape of the cross-section for the SLP specimens,the copper liner was found to wrinkle on the compressive *** contrast,the liner of ALP remains intact without developing any wrinkling and collapse *** addition,a dedicated numerical framework and theoretical models were also *** was found both the manufacturing and bending responses of the MLP can be well reproduced,and the predicted maximum moment and critical curvatures are in good agreement with the experimental results.

Artificial visual systems can recognize desired objects and information from complex environments, and are therefore highly desired for pattern recognition, object detection, and imaging applications. However, state-of-the-art artificial visual systems with high recognition performances that typically consist of electronic devices face the challenges of requiring huge storage space and high power consumption owing to redundant data. Here, we report a terahertz(THz) frequency-selective surface using a graphene split-ring resonator driven by ferroelectric polarization for efficient visual system applications. The downward polarization of the ferroelectric material offers an ultrahigh electrostatic field for doping p-type graphene with an anticipated Fermi level. By optimizing the geometric parameters of the devices and modulating the carrier behaviors of graphene, our plasmonic devices exhibit a tunable spectral response in a range of 1.7–6.0 THz with continuous transmission values. The alloptical neural network using graphene plasmonic surfaces designed in this study exhibited excellent performance in visual preprocessing and convolutional filtering and achieved an ultrahigh recognition accuracy of up to 99.3% in training the Modified National Institute of Standards and Technology(MNIST) handwritten digit dataset. These features demonstrate the great potential of graphene plasmonic devices for future smart artificial vision systems.

To the Editor: We sincerely applaud the work by Tang et al., in which they described caudate lobe-sparing subtotal hepatectomy as treatment for intrahepatic arterioportal fistulas [ 1 ]. Compared to intrahepatic arterioportal fistulas, portal vein-hepatic vein fistulas are rarely reported. Patients typically lack clinical symptoms such as hyperammonemia, cholestatic jaundice, and hypoglycemia, unless the shunt becomes relatively large [ 2, 3 ]. Herein, we describe partial hepatectomy as a treatment for cases of left portal vein-middle hepatic vein fistulas.

BACKgROUND The relationship between metabolic syndrome(MetS)and gastric cancer(gC),which is a common metabolic disease,has attracted much ***,the specific metabolic characteristics of MetS in elderly patients with gC remain *** To investigate the differentially abundant metabolites and metabolic pathways between preoperative frailty and MetS in elderly patients with gC based on nontargeted metabolomics *** In this study,125 patients with nonfrail nonmeal gC were selected as the control group,and 50 patients with gC in the frail group were selected as the frail ***-five patients with gC combined with MetS alone were included in the MetS group,and 50 patients with gC combined with MetS were included in the MetS *** metabolomics techniques were used to measure plasma metabolite levels by ultrahigh-performance liquid chromatography-mass *** statistical analysis was performed by principal component analysis,orthogonal partial least squares,pattern recognition analysis,cluster analysis,and metabolic pathway *** A total of 125 different metabolites,including amino acids,glycerophospholipids,sphingolipids,fatty acids,sugars,nucleosides and nucleotides,and acidic compounds,were identified via nontargeted metabolomics *** with those in the control group,there were 41,32,and 52 different metabolites in the MetS group,the debilitated group,and the combined group,*** metabolites were significantly increased in the MetS *** the weak group,amino acids and most glycerol phospholipid metabolites decreased significantly,and fatty acids and sphingosine increased *** combined group was characterized by significantly increased levels of nucleotide metabolites and acidic *** alanine,aspartic acid,and glutamate metabolic pathways were obviously enriched in the asthenic group,and the glycerol and phospholipid metabolic pathways were obv

The polymer with nanoparticles tethered at each end is a unique model for unraveling the effect of chain ends on the polymer dynamics. We investigated the rheological behavior of this kind of polymer by using nonequilibrium molecular dynamics simulation. The effect of polymer lengths and nanoparticle radii on the complex moduli and viscosity was examined. The dependence of complex moduli on the frequency becomes less pronounced as the polymer is short or the nanoparticle is large. The shear thinning behavior was revealed for these systems, and the scaling exponent of complex viscosity with respect to the frequency was found to change from-1/2 to-3/4 as the polymer shortens or the nanoparticle enlarges. The rheological behavior was further explained by analyzing the mean square distance of nanoparticles. The simulation results were compared with the existing experimental finding, showing an agreement. The work provides information for understanding the chain end effect on polymer rheology.
