Rare finding of primary aortoduodenal fistula on single-photon emission computed tomography/computed tomography of gastrointestinal bleeding: A case report

BACKGROUND Primary aortoduodenal fistula is a rare cause of gastrointestinal(GI)bleeding consisting of abnormal channels between the aorta and GI tract without previous vascular intervention that results in massive intraluminal *** suMMARY A 67-year-old man was hospitalized for coffee ground vomiting,tarry stools,and colic abdominal *** was repeatedly admitted for active GI bleeding and hypovolemic *** and spontaneously stopped bleeders were undetectable on multiple GI endoscopy,angiography,computed tomography angiography(CTA),capsule endoscopy,and ^(99)mTc-labeled red blood cell(RBC)*** patient received supportive treatment and was discharged without signs of ***,he was re-admitted for bleeder *** CTA after a bleed revealed a small aortic aneurysm at the renal level contacting the fourth portion of the duodenum.A ^(99)mTc-labeled RBC singlephoton emission CT(SPECT)/CT scan performed during bleeding symptoms revealed active bleeding at the duodenal *** to his clinical symptoms(intermittent massive GI bleeding with hypovolemic shock,dizziness,dark red stool,and bloody vomitus)and the abdominal CTA and ^(99)mTc-labeled RBC SPECT/CT results,we suspected a small aneurysm and an aortoduodenal *** duodenal excision and duodenojejunal anastomosis were performed.A 7-mm saccular aneurysm arising from the anterior wall of the abdominal aorta near the left renal artery was *** intravascular stenting of the abdominal aorta was performed and his symptoms *** Our findings suggest that ^(99)mTc-labeled RBC SPECT/CT scanning can aid the diagnosis of a rare cause of active GI bleeding.

ATP6AP2,a regulator of LRP6/β-catenin protein trafficking,promotes Wnt/β-catenin signaling and bone formation in a cell type dependent manner

Wnt/β-catenin signaling is critical for various cellular processes in multiple cell types,including osteoblast(OB)differentiation and *** how Wnt/β-catenin signaling is regulated in OBs remain ***6AP2,an accessory subunit of V-ATPase,plays important roles in multiple cell types/organs and multiple signaling ***,little is known whether and how ATP6AP2 in OBs regulates Wnt/β-catenin signaling and bone *** we provide evidence for ATP6AP2 in the OB-lineage cells to promote OB-mediated bone formation and bone homeostasis selectively in the trabecular bone *** knocking out(Cko)ATP6AP2 in the OB-lineage cells(Atp6ap2^(Ocn-Cre))reduced trabecular,but not cortical,bone formation and bone *** and cellular biochemical studies revealed that LRP6 and N-cadherin were reduced in ATP6AP2-ko BMSCs and OBs,but not *** in vitro and in vivo studies revealed impairedβ-catenin signaling in ATP6AP2-ko BMSCs and OBs,but not osteocytes,under both basal and Wnt stimulated conditions,although LRP5 was decreased in ATP6AP2-ko osteocytes,but not *** cell biological studies uncovered that osteoblastic ATP6AP2 is not required for Wnt3a suppression ofβ-catenin phosphorylation,but necessary for LRP6/β-catenin and N-cadherin/β-catenin protein complex distribution at the cell membrane,thus preventing their *** of activeβ-catenin diminished the OB differentiation deficit in ATP6AP2-ko *** together,these results support the view for ATP6AP2 as a critical regulator of both LRP6 and N-cadherin protein trafficking and stability,and thus regulatingβ-catenin levels,demonstrating an un-recognized function of osteoblastic ATP6AP2 in promoting Wnt/LRP6/β-catenin signaling and trabecular bone formation.

Systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE),a severe autoimmune disorder,is characterized by systemic inflammatory response,autoantibody accumulation and damage to *** dysregulation of double-negative(DN)T cells is considered as a crucial commander during ***,a significant type of protein post-translational modification(PTM),has been well-proved to regulate T cell-mediated immune ***,the function of neddylation in SLE is still ***,we reported that neddylation inactivation with MLN4924,a specific inhibitor of NEDD8-activating enzyme E1(NAE1),or genetic abrogation of Ube2m in T cells decreased DN T cell accumulation and attenuated murine lupus *** investigations revealed that inactivation of neddylation blocked Bim ubiquitination degradation and maintained Bim level in DN T cells,contributing to the apoptosis of the accumulated DN T cells in lupus *** double knockout(ko)lupus-prone mice(Ube2m-/-Bim-/-lpr)were generated and results showed that loss of Bim reduced Ube2m deficiency-induced apoptosis in DN T cells and reversed the alleviated lupus *** findings identified that neddylation inactivation promoted Bim-mediated DN T cell apoptosis and attenuated lupus ***,we also found that in SLE patients,the proportion of DN T cells was raised and their apoptosis was ***,compared to healthy groups,SLE patients exhibited decreased Bim levels and elevated Cullin1 neddylation ***,the inhibition of neddylation induced Bim-dependent apoptosis of DN T cells isolated from SLE ***,our findings provide the direct evidence about the function of neddylation during lupus,suggesting a promising therapeutic approach for this disease.

Foodservice Quality: Identifying Perception Indicators of Foodservice Quality for Hospitality Students

This study uses an expert perspective to identify indicators of foodservice quality as perceived by hospitality students. A 3-round modified Delphi method and an expert panel comprising culinary arts instructors, master chefs with >10 years of experience, and senior foodservice industry executive managers were used to define and identify these indicators. The developed foodservice quality framework includes 2 categories, the product and customer, which comprise 57 indicators in 6 dimensions. The results of this study provide a clear direction for further studies and applications for hospitality professionals, educators, and students.

Low Distortion Quick Response Noise Filter Realized withAverage Peaks Method

The filter proposed in this paper is expected to reduce noise whose frequency is lower than higher order harmonics of real *** is based on the distributive characteristics of noise,and uses analog circuits to select the high peak and low peak of the input signal and applies their average in order to reduce random *** it has no cutoff frequency and higher order harmonics of real signals are *** a result,it gives an instant response to changes in input signals and retains the integrity of real ***,it has only a small phase *** simulation results of slew rate,phase delay and spectral analysis under MULTISIM indicate that the quick response noise filter achieves a high slew rate of 472 V/ms and the phase shift is nearly *** having it used in a color tester design,it is also demonstrated that the proposed filter effectively reduces noise and remains signal *** the filter 's help,the relative standard deviation of the spectrograph decreases from 1% to 0.22%,indicating better stability.

Food Sanitation Knowledge, Attitude, and Behavior for the University Restaurants Employees

The purpose of this study was to discuss the food sanitation knowledge, attitude, and behavior for the employees of university restaurants, and furthermore, to explain the interrelations of these various were occurring at school. A questionnaire survey procedure was used. Each two constructs of food sanitation attitude and behavior were analyzed by factor analysis. Data was analyzed by description, Pearson’s correlation and multiple regression analysis. The correctness rate toward the whole sanitation knowledge of trials was 70%. The overall attitude toward food sanitation was prone to positive and the attitude of employee self-responsibility was superior to the attitude of food sanitation practice. The sanitary guiding behavior was better than the sanitary habit behavior;and there was a significant relationship indicated through Pearson correlation analysis among three various. The sanitation knowledge and sanitation attitude showed a 42.6% predictive power to behavior, the attitude was mediated between knowledge and behavior. The university restaurant employees shared a more pessimistic view toward the benefits of training and the institutions could establish a committee for monitoring food nutrition and sanitation. It provides valuable information for development employees training while seeking to raise school restaurant food safety levels.

Is It Competent Enough for Handling Foodservice Quality？ From the Students＇ Viewpoint of Self-perceived Competence and the Contribution of Hospitality Course

This study evaluated the self-perceived importance and competence with regard to foodservice quality of hospitality students in Taiwan. The study used a 6-dimension food quality scale to gather self-assessed data from student participants. A total of 400 questionnaires were sent out, with 355 （88.75%） returned, validated, and used in research. In the dimension of perceived importance, participants placed the highest importance on ＂food safety＂ and the lowest importance on ＂food characteristics＂. In the dimension of competence, participants placed the highest competence on ＂service quality＂, while the competence concerning ＂culinary skill＂ was lower. An importance-performance analysis （IPA） identified ＂food safety＂ as showing the greatest be improved among the six dimensions. The courses and internship experience predicted 26.4% of the variability in perceived competence of foodservice quality. Both the two variables showed a statistical significance. The culinary courses had a greater impact on food quality-related perceptions than did either hospitality professional or general management courses. Finally, this study identified that the school courses had a positive contribution to the competence of foodservice quality and with hospitality students who completed school courses having better quality perception competence than those who had not.
