Mechanically lined pipe(MLP)is often used for offshore oil and gas transport because of its low cost and corrosion *** installation and operation,the pipe may undergo severe bending deformation,which causes the liner to separate from the outer pipe and buckles,affecting the stability of the whole *** this paper,the buckling response of MLP subjected to bending is investigated to clarify its bending characteristics by employing both experiments,numerical simulation,as theoretical *** types of MLPs were manufactured with GB 45 carbon steel(SLP)and Al 6061(ALP)used as the outer pipe material,*** hydraulic expansion and bending experiments of small-scale MLPs are *** addition to the ovalized shape of the cross-section for the SLP specimens,the copper liner was found to wrinkle on the compressive *** contrast,the liner of ALP remains intact without developing any wrinkling and collapse *** addition,a dedicated numerical framework and theoretical models were also *** was found both the manufacturing and bending responses of the MLP can be well reproduced,and the predicted maximum moment and critical curvatures are in good agreement with the experimental results.

Zn-Li alloys are considered promising candidate materials for biodegradable orthopedic implant applications due to their high mechanical performance and good ***,the presence of a large number of second-phase particles in this class of Zn alloys can lead to severe localized degradation due to micro-galvanic corrosion,which is detrimental to the mechanical integrity of the alloys during tissue healing in the human *** this study we report ultrahigh strength,uniform corrosion,good cytocompatibility,and effective antibacterial ability in Zn-x Li（x=0.3,0.5,0.7;wt%） alloys achieved through supersaturated solid solution treatment （SSST） at 375℃ under ultrahigh pressure of 3 GPa.A high concentration of β-LiZn4phases coexisted with the-Zn matrix in the as-cast Zn-x Li alloys,whereas almost all the Li dissolved into the-Zn matrix of SSST *** yield strength was 437 MPa for SSST Zn-0.3Li,592 MPa for SSST Zn-0.5 Li and 686 MPa for SSST *** SSST Zn-Li alloys showed uniform degradation with remarkably reduced degradation rates compared to their as-cast *** 25% concentration extracts of the Zn-x Li alloys demonstrated no cytotoxicity toward MC3T3-E1 cells,and the alloys exhibited effective antibacterial ability agains methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus.

Artificial visual systems can recognize desired objects and information from complex environments, and are therefore highly desired for pattern recognition, object detection, and imaging applications. However, state-of-the-art artificial visual systems with high recognition performances that typically consist of electronic devices face the challenges of requiring huge storage space and high power consumption owing to redundant data. Here, we report a terahertz(THz) frequency-selective surface using a graphene split-ring resonator driven by ferroelectric polarization for efficient visual system applications. The downward polarization of the ferroelectric material offers an ultrahigh electrostatic field for doping p-type graphene with an anticipated Fermi level. By optimizing the geometric parameters of the devices and modulating the carrier behaviors of graphene, our plasmonic devices exhibit a tunable spectral response in a range of 1.7–6.0 THz with continuous transmission values. The alloptical neural network using graphene plasmonic surfaces designed in this study exhibited excellent performance in visual preprocessing and convolutional filtering and achieved an ultrahigh recognition accuracy of up to 99.3% in training the Modified National Institute of Standards and Technology(MNIST) handwritten digit dataset. These features demonstrate the great potential of graphene plasmonic devices for future smart artificial vision systems.

To the Editor: We sincerely applaud the work by Tang et al., in which they described caudate lobe-sparing subtotal hepatectomy as treatment for intrahepatic arterioportal fistulas [ 1 ]. Compared to intrahepatic arterioportal fistulas, portal vein-hepatic vein fistulas are rarely reported. Patients typically lack clinical symptoms such as hyperammonemia, cholestatic jaundice, and hypoglycemia, unless the shunt becomes relatively large [ 2, 3 ]. Herein, we describe partial hepatectomy as a treatment for cases of left portal vein-middle hepatic vein fistulas.

Indoor environment quality(IEQ)is one of the most concerned building performances during the operation *** non-uniform spatial distribution of various IEQ parameters in large-scale public buildings has been demonstrated to be an essential factor affecting occupant comfort and building energy ***,IEQ sensors have been widely employed in buildings to monitor thermal,visual,acoustic and air ***,there is a lack of effective methods for exploring the typical spatial distribution of indoor environmental quality parameters,which is crucial for assessing and controlling non-uniform indoor *** this study,a novel clustering method for extracting IEQ spatial distribution patterns is ***,representation vectors reflecting IEQ distributions in the concerned space are generated based on the low-rank sparse ***,a multi-step clustering method,which addressed the problems of the“curse of dimensionality”,is designed to obtain typical IEQ distribution patterns of the entire indoor *** proposed method was applied to the analysis of indoor thermal environment in Beijing Daxing international airport *** a result,four typical temperature spatial distribution patterns of the terminal were extracted from a four-month monitoring,which had been validated for their good *** typical patterns revealed typical environmental issues in the terminal,such as long-term localized overheating and temperature increases due to a sudden influx of *** extracted typical IEQ spatial distribution patterns could assist building operators in effectively assessing the uneven distribution of IEQ space under current environmental conditions,facilitating targeted environmental improvements,optimization of thermal comfort levels,and application of energy-saving measures.

It is well known that single-atom catalysts(SACs)have become a hot topic in the field of catalysis due to their advantages such as 100% metal atom utilization efficiency,high catalytic activity and selectivity compared with conventional catalysts and nanocatalysts. However, the isolated metal atoms on SACs have thermodynamic instability and tend to agglomerate, which limit their catalytic ***, it is of great significance to synthesize stable and high-loading single-atom catalysts(HLSACs). In this paper,we review the research progress of HLSACs from two aspects:design and application. Firstly, we comprehensively introduce the synthesis strategies of HLSACs, namely, top-down and bottom-up methods. Secondly, we overview the application status of HLSACs in three fields: electrocatalysis, thermal catalysis and photocatalysis. Finally, we summarize the development prospects and challenges of HLSACs.

A new interacting capillary bundle model on the multiphase flow in micropores of tight rocks

Surfactants are widely used in the fracturing fluid to enhance the imbibition and thus the oil recovery rate. However, current numerical models cannot capture the physics behind capillary imbibition during the wettability alteration by surfactants. Although the interacting capillary bundle(ICB) model shows potential in characterizing imbibition rates in different pores during wettability alteration, the existing ICB models neglect the influence of wettability and viscosity ratio on the imbibition behavior, making it difficult to accurately describe the oil-water imbibition behavior within the porous media. In this work,a new ICB mathematical model is established by introducing pressure balance without assuming the position of the leading front to comprehensively describe the imbibition behavior in a porous medium under different conditions, including gas-liquid spontaneous imbibition and oil-water *** the pore size distribution of a tight rock is known, this new model can predict the changes of water saturation during the displacement process in the tight rock, and also determine the imbibition rate in pores of different sizes. The water saturation profiles obtained from the new model are validated against the waterflooding simulation results from the CMG, while the imbibition rates calculated by the model are validated against the experimental observations of gas-liquid spontaneous imbibition. The good match above indicates the newly proposed model can show the water saturation profile at a macroscopic scale while capture the underlying physics of the multiphase flow in a porous medium at a microscopic scale. Simulation results obtained from this model indicate that both wettability and viscosity ratio can affect the sequence of fluid imbibition into pores of different sizes during the multiphase flow, where less-viscous wetting fluid is preferentially imbibed into larger pores while more-viscous wetting fluid tends to be imbibed into smaller pores. Recent years have seen the wide application of natural language processing(NLP)models in crucial areas such as finance,medical treatment,and news media,raising concerns about the model robustness and *** find that prompt paradigm can probe special robust defects of pre-trained language *** prompt texts are first constructed for inputs and a pre-trained language model can generate adversarial examples for victim models via *** results show that prompt paradigm can efficiently generate more diverse adversarial examples besides synonym ***,we propose a novel robust training approach based on prompt paradigm which incorporates prompt texts as the alternatives to adversarial examples and enhances robustness under a lightweight minimax-style optimization *** on three real-world tasks and two deep neural models show that our approach can significantly improve the robustness of models to resist adversarial attacks.
