Research on denoising of joint detection signal of water quality with multi-parameter based on IEEMD

An improved ensemble empirical mode decomposition(IEEMD) is suggested to process water quality spectral signals in order to address the issue that noise interference makes it difficult to extract and evaluate water quality spectral signals.This algorithm effectively solves the problems of modal mixing,poor reconstruction accuracy in the empirical mode decomposition(EMD),and a large amount of calculation in the ensemble empirical mode decomposition(EEMD).Based on EEMD,IEEMD firstly preprocesses the original water quality spectral signals,then performs Savitzky-Golay(S-G) smoothing on the decomposed effective intrinsic mode function(IMF) components,and finally reconstructs them to obtain the denoised signals.Water sample data at different concentrations can be accurately analyzed based on the noise-reduced spectral signals.In this paper,three water quality parameters are used as research objects:benzene(C_(6)H_(6)),benzo(b)fluoranthene(C_(20)H_(12)),and chemical oxygen demand(COD).The original water quality multi-parameter(C_(6)H_(6),C_(20)H_(12),COD) spectral signals were subjected to denoising based on the IEEMD and the water quality multi-parameter joint detection technology.The signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) and the correlation coefficient(R^(2)) of the fitted curves obtained from the processing of the IEEMD were compared and analyzed with those obtained from the processing of the EMD and the EEMD.The experimental results show that the SNR of the spectral signals and the R^(2) of the fitting curve in three water quality parameters have been significantly improved.Therefore,the IEEMD effectively improves the phenomenon of modal mixing,reduces the amount of calculation,improves the reconstruction accuracy,and provides an important guarantee for the effective extraction of multi-parameter spectral signals of water quality.

Bottom-up construction of mesoporous supramolecular isomers based on a Pd_(3)L_(6) triangular prism as templates for shape specific aggregation of polyiodide

Bottom-up construction of highly complex architecture from simple components remains one of the long-standing challenges in chemistry.Herein two supramolecular isomers based on large trigonal prismatic Pd_(3)L^(1)_(6)building block are reported.Significantly,they can be controllably obtained by adjusting the solute concentration during crystal growth.Specifically,the square shape crystals,α-[Pd_(3)L^(1)_(6)](PF_(6))_(12)in the cubic system with I143 m space group,can be isolated from a high-concentration solution of Pd_(3)L^(1)_(6).Interestingly,a mesoporous cage assembled from eight Pd_(3)L^(1)_(6)units with a diameter of 24Åis observed in the crystal structure.For the low-concentration solution of Pd_(3)L^(1)_(6),the rectangular shape crystalsβ-[Pd_(3)L^(1)_(6)](PF_(6))_(12)are obtained,which crystallize in the hexagonal system with P 63/m space group,and display two-dimension packing pattern and one-dimension mesoporous channels(diameter ca.22Å)along the c axis.Moreover,the two supramolecular isomers were used as nanoporous reactors to induce the specific formation of polyiodides with different compositions and shapes as evidenced from single crystal X-ray diffraction studies.These findings provide a reference in targeting functional crystalline mesoporous supramolecular materials from a single complex building unit.

Regulation of radicals by hydrogen-donor solvent in direct coal liquefaction

Radicals are important intermediates in direct coal liquefaction.Certain radicals can cause the cleavage of chemical bonds.At high temperatures,radical fragments can be produced by the splitting of large organic molecules,which can break strong chemical bonds through the induction pyrolysis of radicals.The reaction between the formation and annihilation of coal radical fragments and the effect of hydrogen-donor solvents on the radical fragments are discussed in lignite hydrogenolysis.Using the hydroxyl and ether bonds as indicators,the effects of different radicals on the cleavage of chemical bond were investigated employing density functional theory calculations and lignite hydrogenolysis experiments.Results showed that the adjustment of the coal radical fragments could be made by the addition of hydrogendonor solvents.Results showed that the transition from coal radical fragment to H radical leads to the variation of product distribution.The synergistic mechanism of hydrogen supply and hydrogenolysis of hydrogen-donor solvent was proposed.

Primary aldosteronism(PA)is the most common form of secondary hypertension,with its main manifestations including hypertension and hypokalemia.Early identification of PA is extremely important as PA patients can easily develop cardiovascular complications such as atrial fibrillation,stroke,and myocardial infarction.The past decade has witnessed the rapid advances in the genetics of PA,which has shed new light on PA treatment.While surgery is the first choice for unilateral diseases,bilateral lesions can be treated with mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists(MRAs).The next-generation non-steroidal MRAs are under investigations.New medications including calcium channel blockers,macrophage antibiotics,and aldosterone synthase inhibitors have provided a new perspective for the medical treatment of PA.

Colorectal cancer screening:The value of early detection and modern challenges

The screening of colorectal cancer(CRC)is pivotal for both the prevention and treatment of this disease,significantly improving early-stage tumor detection rates.This advancement not only boosts survival rates and quality of life for patients but also reduces the costs associated with treatment.However,the adoption of CRC screening methods faces numerous challenges,including the technical limitations of both noninvasive and invasive methods in terms of sensitivity and specificity.Moreover,socioeconomic factors such as regional disparities,economic conditions,and varying levels of awareness affect screening uptake.The coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic further intensified these challenges,leading to reduced screening participation and increased waiting periods.Additionally,the growing prevalence of early-onset CRC necessitates innovative screening approaches.In response,research into new methodologies,including artificial intelligence-based systems,aims to improve the precision and accessibility of screening.Proactive measures by governments and health organizations to enhance CRC screening efforts are underway,including increased advocacy,improved service delivery,and international cooperation.The role of technological innovation and global health collaboration in advancing CRC screening is undeniable.Technologies such as artificial intelligence and gene sequencing are set to revolutionize CRC screening,making a significant impact on the fight against this disease.Given the rise in early-onset CRC,it is crucial for screening strategies to continually evolve,ensuring their effectiveness and applicability.

This paper studies the two-agent scheduling on a bounded parallel-batching machine.In the problem,there are two agents A and B each having their own job sets with the restriction that the processing times of jobs of agent B are equal.The jobs of different agents can be processed in a common batch.Moreover,each agent has its own objective function to be minimized.The objective function of agent A is the makespan of its jobs,and the objective function of agent B is the maximum lateness of its jobs.We present a polynomial-time algorithm for finding all Pareto optimal solutions of this two-agent parallel-batching scheduling problem.

Current approaches of nanomedicines in the market and various stage of clinical translation

Compared with traditional drug therapy,nanomedicines exhibit intriguing biological features to increase therapeutic efficiency,reduce toxicity and achieve targeting delivery.This review provides a snapshot of nanomedicines that have been currently launched or in the clinical trials,which manifests a diversified trend in carrier types,applied indications and mechanisms of action.From the perspective of indications,this article presents an overview of the applications of nanomedicines involving the prevention,diagnosis and treatment of various diseases,which include cancer,infections,blood disorders,cardiovascular diseases,immuno-associated diseases and nervous system diseases,etc.Moreover,the review provides some considerations and perspectives in the research and development of nanomedicines to facilitate their translations in clinic.

Morroniside ameliorates lipopolysaccharide-induced inflammatory damage in iris pigment epithelial cells through inhibition of TLR4/JAK2/STAT3 pathway

AIM:To investigate the effect of morroniside(Mor)on lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-treated iris pigment epithelial cells(IPE).METHODS:IPE cells were induced by LPS and treated with Mor.Cell proliferation was detected by cell counting kit(CCK)-8,apoptosis was detected by flow cytometry,the levels of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin(IL)-6,and IL-8 were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(EliSA)kits,and the protein expression of TLR4,JAK2,p-JAK2,STAT3,and p-STAT3 was analyzed by Western blotting.In addition,overexpression of TLR4 and Mor treatment of LPS-stimulated IPE cells were also tested for the above indices.RESULTS:Mor effectively promoted the proliferation and inhibited the apoptosis of LPS-treated IPE cells.In addition,Mor significantly reduced the levels of TNF-α,IL-6,and IL-8 and significantly inhibited the expression of TLR4,p-JAK2,and p-STAT3 in LPS-treated IPE cells.The effect of Mor on LPS-treated IPE cells was markedly attenuated after overexpression of TLR4.CONCLUSION:These findings suggest that Mor may ameliorate LPS-induced inflammatory damage and apoptosis in IPE through inhibition of TLR4/JAK2/STAT3 pathway.

Rh(III)-Catalyzed Enantioselective Intermolecular Aryl C—H Bond Addition to Aldehydes

The direct addition of aryl C—H bond to carbon-heteroatom double bond by transition-metal-catalyzed C—H activation has been extensively investigated in the past decade. However, the enantioselective intermolecular C—H addition to aldehyde has not yet been reported and is of significant challenge. Rh(III)-catalyzed highly enantioselective intermolecular C—H addition of aryl oxime ethers to glyoxylates is reported. Chiral mandelic acid esters were obtained in excellent yields (up to 98%) and enantioselectivity (up to 99% ee) in the presence of a chiral CpRh(III) catalyst under mild conditions. The substituents on the Cp ring and BINOL skeleton were responsible for the high enantioselectivity observed. The method displays a broad substrate scope and good functionality tolerance. These results provide not only a promising C—H addition approach but also a proof of concept for developing broader asymmetric C—H addition reactions.

Analysis of the spanwise vortex of open channel flows based on the Omega-liutex vortex identification method

In this paper, a particle imaging velocimetry (PIV) system of high-temporal-spatial resolution is used to investigate the spanwise vortex distribution of fully developed turbulent flows in an open channel and its relationship with the turbulence. The distributions of the time-averaged velocity, the turbulence intensity and the Reynolds stress are obtained in the longitudinal profile. The third-generation vortex identification method (based on the Omega-liutex vector) is applied to accurately identify and analyze the vortex in the spanwise direction. The results suggest that the vortex density increases with the Reynolds number at a given aspect ratio (B / H) of the flow. The distribution trend of the spanwise vortex density in the vertical direction remains unchanged for different discharges. Specifically, the vortex density increases along the vertical direction and reaches the peak at y / H = 0.15, then decreases and reaches the bottoms at the flow surface.
