A method for preparing novel ceramics was developed in this study. Different ratios red muds were added to steel slags to optimize the preparation of novel ceramics by a traditional ceramic preparation process. The sintering mechanism, microstructure, and performance were studied by X-ray diffraction techniques, scanning electron microscopy, and combined experiments of linear shrinkage, water absorption, and flexural strength. The results confirmed that red mud can reduce the volumetric instabilities through the complementarity of red mud and ferroalloy slag. The crystal phases in the ceramics are all pyroxene group minerals, including diopside ferrian, augite, and diopside. The flexural strength of the ceramic that contains 40 wt% red mud and was prepared at the optimal sintering temperature(1140°C) is greater than 93 MPa; its corresponding water absorption is less than 0.05%.

AIM: To study the dynamic computed tomography (CT) features of hepatic angiomyolipoma (AML) in patients with or without tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC).METHODS: The clinical information, CT fi ndings and histopathological results of hepatic AML were analyzed retrospectively in 10 ***: Hepatic AML was prone to occur in female patients (7/10), and most of the patients (8/10) had no specific symptoms. All tumors presented as well-def ined, unenveloped nodules in the liver. Six patients with sporadic hepatic AML had a solitary hepatic nodule with a definite fat component. Non-fat components of the hepatic lesions were enhanced earlier and persistently. Prominent central vessels were noted in the portal venous phase in three patients. In four patients with hepatic AML and TSC, most of the nodules were within the peripheral liver. Seven fat-deficient nodules were found with earlier contrast enhancement and rapid contrast material washout in two patients. Lymphangioleiomyomatosis was found in one ***: Imaging features of hepatic AML are characteristic. Correct diagnosis preoperatively can be made in combination with clinical features.

Tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC) is a dominantly inherited disorder which characterized by the growth of harmatomatous in multiple organs. Unlike the common development of renal angiomyolipoma, hepatic angiomyolipoma rarely occur in patients with TSC. We report here a patient with hepatic angiomyolipomas and concurrent hepatocellular carcinoma in TSC. This represents the first reported case in English literature. In this patient, multiple hepatic angiomyolipomas were diagnosed with recognition of their fat components and typical clinical settings. Hepatocellular carcinoma in the left liver lobe was definitely diagnosed by US guided biopsy. In such clinical settings, fat containing lesions in liver can be reasonably treated as angiomyolipomas, but non fat containing lesions must be differentiated from hepatocellular carcinoma, imaging guided biopsy can be adopted to confirm the diagnosis.

AIM: To investigate the inhibitory efficacy of 125I-labeled anti-basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) monoclonal antibody (mAb) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).METHODS: bFGF mAb was prepared by using the 1G9B9 hybridoma cell line with hybridization technology and extracted from ascites fluid through a Protein G Sepharose affinity column. After labeling with 125I through the chloramine-T method, bFGF mAb was further purified by a Sephadex G-25 column. Gamma radiation counter GC-1200 detected radioactivity of 125I-bFGF mAb. The murine H22 HCC xenograft model was established and randomized to interventions with control (phosphate-buffered saline), 125I-bFGF mAb, 125I plus bFGF mAb, bFGF mAb, or 125I. The ratios of tumor inhibition were then calculated. Expression of bFGF, fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR), platelet-derived growth factor, and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) mRNA was determined by quantitative reverse transcriptase real-time polymerase chain ***: The purified bFGF mAb solution was 8.145 mg/mL with a titer of 1:2560000 and was stored at -20 °C. After coupling, 125I-bFGF mAb was used at a 1: 1280000 dilution, stored at 4 °C, and its specific radioactivity was 37 MBq/mg. The corresponding tumor weight in the control, 125I, bFGF mAb, 125I plus bFGF mAb, and 125I-bFGF mAb groups was 1.88 ± 0.25, 1.625 ± 0.21, 1.5 ± 0.18, 1.41 ± 0.16, and 0.98 ± 0.11 g, respectively. The tumor inhibition ratio in the 125I, bFGF mAb, 125I plus bFGF mAb, and 125I-bFGF mAb groups was 13.6%, 20.2%, 25.1%, and 47.9%, respectively. Background The optimal timing to start continuous renal replacement therapy （CRRT） for acute kidney injury （AKI） patients has not been accurately established. The recently proposed risk, injury, failure, loss, end-stage kidney disease （RIFLE） criteria for diagnosis and classification of AKI may provide a method for clinicians to decide the ＂optimal timing＂ for starting CRRT under uniform guidelines. The present study aimed：（1） to analyze the correlation between RIFLE stage at the start of CRRT and 90-day survival rate after CRRT start, （2） to further investigate the correlation of RIFLE stage with the malignant kidney outcome in the 90-day survivors, and （3） to determine the influence of the timing of CRRT defined by RIFLE classification on the 90-day survival and malignant kidney outcome in 90-day survivors.Methods A retrospective cohort analysis was performed on the data of 106 critically ill patients with AKI, treated with CRRT during a 6-year period in a university affiliated surgical intensive care unit （SICU）. Information such as sex, age, RIFLE stage, sepsis, sepsis-related organ failure assessment （SOFA） score, number of organ failures before CRRT, CRRT time during SICU, survival, and kidney outcome conditions at 90 days after CRRT start was collected. According to their baseline severity of AKI at the start of CRRT, the patients were assigned to three groups according to the increasing severity of RIFLE stages： RIFLE-R （risk of renal dysfunction, R）, RIFLE-I （injury to the kidney, I） and RIFLE-F （failure of kidney function, F） using RIFLE criteria. The malignant kidney outcome was classified as RIFLE-L （loss of kidney function L） or RIFLE-E （end-stage kidney disease, E） using RIFLE criteria. The correlation between RIFLE stage and 90-day survival rate was analyzed among these three RIFLE-categorized groups. Background Magnetic resonance imaging （MRI） is commonly utilized as part of the diagnostic workup for the clinical diagnosis of glioblastoma multiforme （GBM）, further guiding the clinical treatment of this aggressive cancer. Recent research has shown that microRNAs （miRNAs） may act as oncogenes, or in some cases, tumor suppressor genes that in turn may reflect the genotypic features of GBM. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between MRI features and miRNA gene expression in patients with glioblastoma multiforme. Methods In order to identify the relationship between the radiographic findings of MRI and those identified changes in miRNA gene expression of GBM, we reviewed the MRI images of GBM patients and compared them with the identified miRNA expression profiles utilizing microarray analysis of paired GBM tumor samples. We chose five MRI imaging features：（1） contrast tumor enhanced/necrosis ratio, （2） contrast tumor enhanced/T2 ratio, （3） multiple lesions, （4） hemorrhage, and （5） necrotic volume. The relationship between these five imaging features and miRNA expression was studied using significance analysis of microarrays analysis. Results We found that the expression of miRNAs such as hsa-miR-892b, hsa-miR-892a, and hsa-miR-888 was inversely correlated with an enhanced/necrosis ratio 〉1. The miRNAs such as hsa-miR-95, hsa-miR-498, and hsa-miR-1300 were associated with a contrast tumor enhanced/T2 ratio 〉-1. The miRNAs such as hsa-miR-612, hsa-miR-524-3, and hsa- miR-1282 were associated with multiple lesions identified on MRI and the expression of miR-221 was associated with hemorrhage by GBM. The expression of miR-let-7, including miR-let-7f, miR-let-7i, and miR-let-7f-l＊, was downregulated in the hemorrhage group. The gene expression of miRNAs such as hsa-miR-140-5p, hsa-miR-30e, and hsa-miR-301a was relatively low when compared with the larger necrotic volume group as identified by MRI. Introduction Midgut malrotation is a congenital anomaly of the intestinal rotation and/or fixation which usually presents in neonatal populations(1-3).However,it has been reported occasionally in adult patients(4-6).Because it has propensity to the life-threatening complications,such as midgut volvulus,internal hernia and intussusception, timely diagnosis is crucial for the patient management(5,7).Nevertheless,diagnosis of adult midgut malrotation is nearly always neglected for its nonspecific manifestation and rare incidence(1,2,5,7).

BACKGROUND A dual therapy regimen containing amoxicillin is a common treatment option for the eradication of Helicobacter pylori(***).While substantial research supports the efficacy and safety of vonoprazan and amoxicillin(VA)dual therapy in the general population,there is still a lack of studies specifically focusing on its safety in elderly *** To evaluate efficacy and safety of VA dual therapy as first-line or rescue treatment for *** in elderly *** As a real-world retrospective study,data were collected from elderly patients aged 60 years and above who accepted VA dual therapy(vonoprazan 20 mg twice daily+amoxicillin 1000 mg thrice daily for 14 days)for *** eradication in the Department of Gastroenterology at Peking University First Hospital between June 2020 and January *** status was evaluated by^(13)C-urease breath test 6 weeks after *** adverse events(AEs)during treatment were *** In total,401 cases were ***-one cases were excluded due to loss to follow-up,lack of re-examination,or unwillingness to take *** total of 380 included cases comprised 250 who received VA dual therapy as first-line treatment and 130 who received VA dual therapy as rescue *** was successfully eradicated in 239 cases(95.6%)in the first-line treatment group and 116 cases(89.2%)in the rescue treatment *** overall incidence of AEs was 9.5%for both ***,9.2%of patients experienced an AE in the first-line treatment group and 10.0%in the rescue treatment *** patients discontinued treatment due to AE,with a discontinuation rate of 1.3%.No serious AE *** The VA dual therapy regimen as a first-line treatment and a rescue therapy was effective and safe for elderly patients aged 60 and older.
