Computed tomography enterography-based radiomics for assessing mucosal healing in patients with small bowel Crohn's disease

Wide area measurements based fault detection and location method for transmission lines

Electric power grids are critical infrastructure for delivering energy from generation stations to load centers. To maximize utilization of assets, it is desirable to increase the power transferred over transmission systems. Reliable protection of transmission systems is essential for safeguarding the integrity and reliability of the power grid. Distance protection is the most widely used scheme for protecting transmission lines. Most existing protection systems use local measurements to make a decision while pilot protection is used in some circumstances. Distance protection may fail under stressed operating conditions, which could lead to cascading faults. This paper proposes a system integrity protection scheme by utilizing wide area measurements. The scheme partitions the system into subnetworks or protection zones and employs current measurements to derive a fault identification vector indicating the faulted zone. Then the fault location is pinpointed based on wide area measurements and network data. The proposed method is able to deal with multiple, simultaneous faults, and is applicable to both transposed and untransposed lines. Evaluation studies based on simulation studies are presented.

In this paper, we propose a Sample Average Approximation （SAA） method for a class of Stochastic Mathematical Programs with Complementarity Constraints （SMPCC） recently considered by Birbil, G/irkan and Listes [3]. We study the statistical properties of obtained SAA estimators. In particular we show that under moderate conditions a sequence of weak stationary points of SAA programs converge to a weak stationary point of the true problem with probability approaching one at exponential rate as the sample size tends to infinity. To implement the SAA method more efficiently, we incorporate the method with some techniques such as Scholtes＇ regularization method and the well known smoothing NCP method. Some preliminary numerical results are reported.

Getting to the Bottom Morphology of Block Copolymer Thin Films

We demonstrate a general approach for attaining the bottom morphology of block copolymer（BCP） thin films. In our former measurements on PS-b-PMMA films, surface morphology maps of the BCP films revealed distinct ordering regimes where the cylinders orient predominantly perpendicular or parallel to the interface and an ‘intermediate＇ regime where these morphologies coexist. However, this earlier work did not explore the bottom morphology of BCP thin films. In this study, we investigated the block copolymer morphology near the solid substrate in the cast block copolymer film having a perpendicular cylinder morphology on the surface.

Effects of aggregate size distribution and carbon nanotubes on the mechanical properties of cemented gangue backfill samples under true triaxial compression

The mechanical behavior of cemented gangue backfill materials（CGBMs） is closely related to particle size distribution（PSD）of aggregates and properties of cementitious ***,the true triaxial compression tests,CT scanning,SEM,and EDS tests were conducted on cemented gangue backfill samples（CGBSs） with various carbon nanotube concentrations(PCNT) that satisfied fractal theory for the PSD of *** mechanical properties,energy dissipations,and failure mechanisms of the CGBSs under true triaxial compression were systematically *** results indicate that appropriate carbon nanotubes（CNTs） effectively enhance the mechanical properties and energy dissipations of CGBSs through micropore filling and microcrack bridging,and the optimal effect appears at PCNTof 0.08wt%.Taking PSD fractal dimension（D） of 2.500 as an example,compared to that of CGBS without CNT,the peak strength（σp）,axial peak strain(ε1,p),elastic strain energy（Ue）,and dissipated energy（Ud） increased by 12.76%,29.60%,19.05%,and90.39%,***,excessive CNTs can reduce the mechanical properties of CGBSs due to CNT agglomeration, manifesting a decrease in ρp,ε1,p,and the volumetric strain increment（Δεv） when PCNTincreases from 0.08wt% to 0.12wt%.Moreover,the addition of CNTs improved the integrity of CGBS after macroscopic failure,and crack extension in CGBSs appeared in two modes:detour and pass through the *** σpand Udfirstly increase and then decrease with increasing D,and porosity shows the opposite *** ε1,pand Δεvare negatively correlated with D,and CGBS with D=2.150 has the maximum deformation parameters(ε1,p=0.05079,Δεv=0.01990) due to the frictional slip effect caused by coarse *** increasing D,the failure modes of CGBSs are sequentially manifested as oblique shear failure, "Y-shaped" shear failure,and conjugate shear failure.

This work aims to reduce queries on big data to computations on small data,and hence make querying big data possible under bounded resources.A query Q is boundedly evaluable when posed on any big dataset D,there exists a fraction DQ of D such that Q(D)=Q(DQ),and the cost of identifying DQ is independent of the size of *** has been shown that with an auxiliary structure known as access schema,many queries in relational algebra(RA)are boundedly evaluable under the set semantics of *** paper extends the theory of bounded evaluation to RAaggr,i.e.,RA extended with aggregation,under the bag semantics.(1)We extend access schema to bag access schema,to help us identify DQ for RAaggr queries Q.(2)While it is undecidable to determine whether an RAaggr query is boundedly evaluable under a bag access schema,we identify special cases that are decidable and practical.(3)In addition,we develop an effective syntax for bounded RAaggr queries,i.e.,a core subclass of boundedly evaluable RAaggr queries without sacrificing their expressive power.(4)Based on the effective syntax,we provide efficient algorithms to check the bounded evaluability of RAaggr queries and to generate query plans for bounded RAaggr queries.(5)As proof of concept,we extend PostgreSQL to support bounded *** experimentally verify that the extended system improves performance by orders of magnitude.

Low Dielectric Benzocyclobutene-type Polymers Based on Facile Synthesis of Linear Fluorinated Monomer

A linear fluorinated benzocyclobutene-type monomer(4F-bis-BCB) was facilely synthesized by a one-step copper-catalyzed etherification reaction and a simple precipitation post-purification ***,a series of BCB-based polymeric low-dielectric(low-k)materials were obtained by the thermal-induced ring-opening copolymerization of 4F-bis-BCB with divinyl tetramethyl disiloxanebisbenzocyclobutene(DVS-BCB) monomer and further simple thermal curing at high temperature(200-300℃).The resultant fully cured materials demonstrated excellent low dielectric properties at high frequency of 10 GHz(dielectric constant(D_(k))116°),ultra-low water absorption(<0.19% after soaked in water at room temperature for 60 h) and excellent planarization ability(surface roughness<0.56 nm of 3 μm-thick film).Overall,this new fluorinated BCB-type monomer provides us an alternative for the facile preparation of low-k polymeric materials and exhibits great potential for future applications in high-frequency communication and three-dimensional high-density packaging technologies.

Electrochemical reduction characteristics and mechanism of nitrobenzene compounds in the catalyzed Fe-Cu process

The reduction of the nitrobenzene compounds （NBCs） by the catalyzed Fe-Cu process and the relationship between the electrochemical reduction characteristics of NBCs at copper electrode and reduction rate were studied in alkaline medium（pH=11）. The catalyzed Fe-Cu process was found more effective on degradation of NBCs compared to Master Builder＇s iron. The reduction rate by the catalyzed Fe-Cu process decreased in the following order： nitrobenzene 〉4-chloro-nitrobenzene ≥m-dinitrobenzene ：〉 4-nitrophenol ≥2,4-dinitrotoluene 〉2-nitrophenol. The reduction rate by Master Builder＇s iron decreased in the following order： m-dinitrobenzene ≥4-chloro-nitrobenzene 〉4-nitrophenol 〉2,4-dinitrotoluene ≈nitrobenzene 〉2-nitrophenol. NBCs were reduced directly on the surface of copper rather than by the hydrogen produced at cathode in the catalyzed Fe-Cu process. The reduction was realized by the hydrogen produced at cathode and Fe（OH）2 in Master Builder＇s iron, It is an essential difference in reaction mechanisms between these two technologies. For this reason, the reduction by the catalyzed Fe-Cu depended greatly on NBC＇s electron withdrawing ability.

Wind speed scaling and the drag coefficient

Wind speed scaling in similarity law in wind-generated waves and the drag coefficient are studied. In analyzing the data in the wind wave channel, it is found that the u＊ scaling greatly reduces the scatter in the U10 scaling. The u＊ scaling has much less scatter than the scaling using other wind speeds. The friction velocity seems to play a distinctive role in wave growth. The result is important in the applications of the similarity law and in wave modeling. In theory it gives an insight into the mechanism of wind wave interaction. It is found that wave steepness is important in influencing the drag coefficient. The variability of the coefficients in the currently widely used drag form can be explained by the differences in wave steepness in the observations. A drag coefficient model with wind speed and wave steepness as parameters is proposed. An explanation for Kahma＇s result that the u, scaling does not reduce the scatter in the U10 scaling is given.

The Research of Customer Loyalty Improvement in Telecom Industry Based on NPS Data Mining

In recent years, the telecommunications have used the concept of NPS(Net Promoter Score) for customer relationship management, but there is neither definite theory research nor instructive instance research. However, this paper summarizes an approach with instance case analysis to improve customer loyalty via NPS data mining, which has extensive and practical significance for tele-companies. First, this paper finds some driven forces of customer loyalty, which are relative to customer consumption such as the call duration, the usage of data, ARPU, etc., by using some innovative reasoning-analysis based on IG(Information Gain) and xg-boost decision-making tree model, so the tele-companies can predict the role of individual customer and form daily monitoring on big data, which will save a lot of NPS survey cost. Second, this paper summarizes how customer group feature impacts the relationship between NPS and financial performance. Taking ARPU value as the performance goals, we divide the sample customers into 6 groups and summarize their characteristics based on k-means clustering, and give targeted suggestion of each group.
