Phosphorus concentration on the surface of seawater varies greatly with different environments,especially in *** molecular mechanism by which cyanobacteria adapt to fluctuating phosphorus bioavailability is still *** this study,transcriptomes and gene knockouts were used to investigate the adaptive molecular mechanism of a model coastal cyanobacterium Synechococcus *** 7002.during periods of phosphorus starvation and phosphorus recovery(adding sufficient phosphorus after phosphorus starvation).The findings indicated that phosphorus deficiency affected the photosynthesis,ribosome synthesis,and bacterial motility pathways,which recommenced after phosphorus was *** more,most of the metabolic pathways of cyanobacteria were enhanced after phosphorus recovery compared to the control which was kept in continuous phosphorus replete *** on transcriptome,54 genes potentially related to phosphorusdeficiency adaptation were selected and knocked out individually or in *** was found that five mutants showed weak growth phenotype under phosphorus deficiency,indicating the importance of the genes(A0076,A0549-50,A1094,A132.,A1895)in the adaptation of phosphorus *** mutants were found to grow better than the wild type under phosphorus deficiency,suggesting that the products of these genes(A0079,A0340,A2.84–86)might influence the adaptation to phosphorus *** analysis revealed that cyanobacteria exposed to highly fluctuating phosphorus concentrations have more sophisticated phosphorus acquisition *** results elucidated that Synechococcus *** 7002.have variable phosphorus response mechanisms to adapt to fluctuating phosphorus concentration,providing a novel perspective of how cyanobacteria may respond to the complex and dynamic environments.

Enhancing Deep Learning Soil Moisture Forecasting Models by Integrating Physics-based Models

Accurate soil moisture(SM)prediction is critical for understanding hydrological ***-based(PB)models exhibit large uncertainties in SM predictions arising from uncertain parameterizations and insufficient representation of land-surface *** addition to PB models,deep learning(DL)models have been widely used in SM predictions ***,few pure DL models have notably high success rates due to lacking physical ***,we developed hybrid models to effectively integrate the outputs of PB models into DL models to improve SM *** this end,we first developed a hybrid model based on the attention mechanism to take advantage of PB models at each forecast time scale(attention model).We further built an ensemble model that combined the advantages of different hybrid schemes(ensemble model).We utilized SM forecasts from the Global Forecast System to enhance the convolutional long short-term memory(ConvLSTM)model for 1–16 days of SM *** performances of the proposed hybrid models were investigated and compared with two existing hybrid *** results showed that the attention model could leverage benefits of PB models and achieved the best predictability of drought events among the different hybrid ***,the ensemble model performed best among all hybrid models at all forecast time scales and different soil *** is highlighted that the ensemble model outperformed the pure DL model over 79.5%of in situ stations for 16-day *** findings suggest that our proposed hybrid models can adequately exploit the benefits of PB model outputs to aid DL models in making SM predictions.

THE REGULARITY OF THE FREE BOUNDARY FOR STRIKE RESET OPTION

A strike reset option is an option that allows its holder to reset the strike price to the prevailing underlying asset price at a moment chosen by the holder. The pricing model of the option can be formulated as a parabolic variational inequality and the optimal reset strategy is the free boundary. The smoothness of the free boundary in some cases was showed in our article published in JDE. We would prove its smoothness in the other case in this paper by a generalized comparison principle for the variational inequality.

Fast-Charging Sodium-Ion Batteries Enabled by Molecular-Level Designed Nitrogen and Phosphorus Codoped Mesoporous Soft Carbon

Soft carbons have attracted extensive interests as competitive anodes for fast-charging sodium-ion batteries(SIBs);however,the high-rate performance is still restricted by their large ion migration barriers and sluggish reaction ***,we show a molecular design approach toward the fabrication of nitrogen and phosphorus codoped mesoporous soft carbon(NPSC).The key to this strategy lies in the chemical cross-linking reaction between polyphosphoric acid and p-phenylenediamine,associated with pyrolysis induced in-situ self-activation that creates mesoporous structures and rich heteroatoms within the carbon *** to the enlarged interlayer spacing,reduced ion diffusion length,and plentiful active sites,the obtained NPSC delivers a superb rate capacity of 2.5 mAh g-1 at 10 A g-1 and an ultralong cycle life of 4,700 cycles at 5 A g^(-1).Remarkably,the full cell shows 99%capacity retention during 100 continuous cycles,and maximum energy and power densities of 191 Wh kg^(-1)and 9.2.kW kg^(-1),*** believe that such a synthetic protocol could pave a novel venue to develop soft carbons with unique properties for advanced SIBs.

Here,we characterize the temporal and spatial dynamics of forest community structure and species diversity in a subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest in *** found that community structure in this forest changed over a 15-year ***,renewal and death of common species was large,with the renewal of individuals mainly concentrated within a few populations,especially those of Aidia canthioides and Cryptocarya *** numbers of individual deaths for common species were concentrated in the small and mid-diameter *** spatial distribution of community species diversity fluctuated in each monitoring period,showing a more dispersed diversity after the 15-year study period,and the coefficient of variation on quadrats *** 2.10,the death and renewal of the community and the spatial variation of species diversity were different compared to other survey *** weather may have affected species regeneration and community stability in our subtropical monsoon evergreen broad-leaved *** findings suggest that strengthening the monitoring and management of the forest community will help better understand the long-and short-term causes of dynamic fluctuations of community structure and species diversity,and reveal the factors that drive changes in community structure.
