Due to its amazing ability to manipulate light at the nanoscale,plasmonics has become one of the most interesting topics in the field of light–matter *** a promising application of plasmonics,surface-enhanced Raman scattering(SERS)has been widely used in scientific investigations and material *** large enhanced Raman signals are mainly caused by the extremely enhanced electromagnetic field that results from localized surface plasmon ***,a novel SERS technology called remote SERS has been reported,combining both localized surface plasmon polaritons and propagating surface plasmon polaritons(PSPPs,or called plasmonic waveguide),which may be found in prominent applications in special circumstances compared to traditional local *** this article,we review the mechanism of remote SERS and its development since it was first reported in *** remote metal systems based on plasmonic waveguides,such as nanoparticle–nanowire systems,single nanowire systems,crossed nanowire systems and nanowire dimer systems,are introduced,and recent novel applications,such as sensors,plasmon-driven surface-catalyzed reactions and Raman optical activity,are also ***,studies of remote SERS in dielectric and organic systems based on dielectric waveguides remind us that this useful technology has additional,tremendous application prospects that have not been realized in metal systems.

The effect of an external charge on water transportation through T-shaped carbon nanotubes is tested by molecular dynamics *** simulation results show that a relatively small charge reduces the water flux through the canbon nanotubes,but a large enough charge prompts the water *** finding may be helpful to biological amplifiers and nanodevices researches.

Realistic quantum systems always exhibit gravitational and relativistic *** this paper,we investigate the properties of Gaussian steering and its asymmetry by the localized two-mode Gaussian quantum states,instead of the traditional single-mode approximation method in the relativistic *** find that the one-side Gaussian quantum steering will monotonically decrease with increasing observers of ***,our results also reveal the interesting behavior of the Gaussian steering asymmetry,which increases for a specific range of accelerated parameter and then gradually approaches to a finite *** finding is well consistent and explained by the well-known Unruh effect,which could significantly destroy the one-side Gaussian quantum ***,our results could also be applied to the dynamical studies of Gaussian steering between the Earth and satellites,since the effects of acceleration are equal to the effects of gravity according to the equivalence principle.

An approach to wide-field imaging of linear rail ground-based SAR in high squint multi-angle mode

Ground-based synthetic aperture radar(GB-SAR) has been successfully applied to the ground deformation ***, due to the short length of the GB-SAR platform, the scope of observation is largely limited. The practical applications drive us to make improvements on the conventional linear rail GB-SAR system in order to achieve larger field imaging. First, a turntable is utilized to support the rotational movement of the ***, a series of high-squint scanning is performed with multiple squint angles. Further, the high squint modulation phase of the echo data is eliminated. Then, a new multi-angle imaging method is performed in the wave number domain to expand the field of view. Simulation and real experiments verify the effectiveness of this method.

Unlike the ensemble-averaging measurements, the single-molecule imaging and tracking(SMIT) in living cells provides the real-time quantitative information about the locations, kinetics, dynamics and interactions of individual molecules in their native environments with high spatiotemporal resolution and minimal perturbation. The past decade has witnessed a transforming development in the methods of SMIT with living cells, including fluorescent probes, labeling strategies, fluorescence microscopy, and detection and tracking algorithms. In this review, we will discuss these aspects with a particular focus on their recent advancements. We will then describe representative single-molecule studies to illustrate how the single-molecule approaches can be applied to monitor biomolecular interaction/reaction dynamics, and extract the molecular mechanistic information for different cellular systems.

The safety of safe crop products （SCP） is critical to maintain people＇s health and living standard. With the global efforts on the improvement of the traceability of food products, it is inevitable to establish corresponding traceability systems to monitor the safety of crop products in China. In this article, the supply chain pattern of SCP in China has been analyzed and its spatial characters have been described in detail. The study deals with on how to relate traceability technology with GIS, and on how to trace and retrace the safety of SCP using the function of excellent spatial representation, spatial locating, and spatial analysis provided in GIS, which has been discussed from several aspects, such as coding technique of traceability information, transferring technique of traceability information, spatialization of traceability information, and application integration of traceability system. A pilot study was carried out to present the basic functions of the system, which provided an efficient and credible way to trace and retrace the safety of SCP in a real supply chain. An innovative idea has been brought forward for how to establish an efficient, credible, applied traceability system of SCP.

Friction force effects on vertical manipulation of nanoparticles

In humid environment,a particles can be picked up from the substrate by the capillary force,such as in the colloidal probe of atomic force microscopy *** this paper,a model of the capillary bridge between spherical particles is used to study effect of the friction force in nanoparticles *** on the Young-Laplace equation,Newtonian equation and adopted the constant volume boundary condition to calculate the particle motion,the friction force effects on nanoparticles manipulation are *** results show that the friction force has little effect on the particle motion,and the particle velocity decreases slightly in presence of the friction *** friction force is opposed to the motion of the *** the tip velocity increases,there is a critical velocity beyond that the particle cannot be picked up from the substrate,and the critical velocity decreases in presence of the friction *** provide a better understanding of the nanoparticle mechanical properties in humid environment.

To make a reliable reconstruction of past climate from soil-surface modern pollen,it is necessary to reduce the sources of *** this paper,pollen percentages of the sub-continental scale modern pollen-climate dataset from China and Mongolia(with 68%soil-surface samples)are homogenized at various spatial scales.A tailored calibration-set is then applied to lake sediment-surface pollen assemblages from north-central China to evaluate their predictive *** indicate that spatial homogenization of modern pollen percentages can increase the proportion of inertia explained by climatic variables in CCA and improve the model performance of leave-one-out cross-validation using ***-surface pollen assemblages can thus be employed into a calibration-set for reliable climate estimation and they perform better when the calibration-set has been locally ***-scale(e.g.,radii 2,5,or 10 km)homogenization reduces the local noise in soil-surface pollen assemblages and improves the cross-validated performance,while broader scale homogenization(more than 20 km radius)blurs the pollen-climate *** sediment-surface pollen assemblages from close to the shore could contain pollen grains transported by rivers or from the shore vegetation and thus fail to represent regional climate well like the assemblages from the central part and deep-water area of lake.

System scan of the multiplicity correlation between forward and backward rapidities in relativistic heavy-ion collisions using a multi-phase transport model

A systematic study on forward–backward(FB)multiplicity correlations from large systems to small ones through a multi-phase transport model(AMPT)has been performed and the phenomenon that correlation strength increases with centrality can be explained by taking the distribution of events as the superposition of a series of Gaussian *** is also found that correlations in the η−ϕ plane can imply the shape of the ***,long-range correlations originate from the fluctuations associated with the source *** correlations allow us to decouple long-range correlations from short-range correlations,and may provide a chance to investigate the α-clustering structure in initial colliding light nuclei as *** seems the tetrahedron ^(16)O+^(16)O collision gives a more uniform and symmetrical fireball,that emits the final particles more isotropically or independently in the longitudinal direction,indicating that the forward-backward multiplicity correlation could be used to identify the pattern of α-clustered ^(16)O in future experiments.
