Stimulated Raman scattering tomography for rapid three-dimensional chemical imaging of cells and tissue

Three-dimensional(3D)imaging is essential for understanding intricate biological and biomedical systems,yet live cell and tissue imaging applications still face challenges due to constrained imaging speed and strong scattering in turbid ***,we present a unique phase-modulated stimulated Raman scattering tomography(PM-SRST)technique to achieve rapid label-free 3D chemical imaging in cells and *** accomplish PM-SRST,we utilize a spatial light modulator to electronically manipulate the focused Stokes beam along the needle Bessel pump beam for SRS tomography without the need for mechanical z *** demonstrate the rapid 3D imaging capability of PM-SRST by real-time monitoring of 3D Brownian motion of polystyrene beads in water with 8.5 Hz volume rate,as well as the instant biochemical responses to acetic acid stimulants in MCF-7 ***,combining the Bessel pump beam with a longer wavelength Stokes beam(NIR-II window)provides a superior scattering resilient ability in PM-SRST,enabling rapid tomography in deeper tissue *** PM-SRST technique providestwofold enhancement in imaging depth in highly scattering media(e.g.,polymer beads phantom and biotissue like porcine skin and brain tissue)compared with conventional point-scan *** also demonstrate the rapid 3D imaging ability of PM-SRST by observing the dynamic diffusion and uptake processes of deuterium oxide molecules into plant *** rapid PM-SRST developed can be used to facilitate label-free 3D chemical imaging of metabolic activities and functional dynamic processes of drug delivery and therapeutics in live cells and tissue.

Western diet(rich in highly refined sugar and fat)can induce a range of metabolic dysfunctions in animals and humans,including neuroinflammation and cognitive function *** and cognitive impairment,two critical pathological characteristics of Alzheimer’s disease,have been closely associated with microbial alteration via the gut-brain ***,the present study aimed to investigate the influence of 2-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-L-ascorbic acid(AA-2βG)isolated from the fruits of Lycium barbarum on preventing the high-fructose diet(HFrD)induced neuroinflammation in *** was found that AA-2βG prevented HFr D-induced cognitive ***-2βG also predominantly enhanced the gut barrier integrity,decreased lipopolysaccharide entry into the circulation,which subsequently countered the activation of glial cells and neuroinflammatory *** beneficial effects were transmissible by horizontal fecal microbiome transplantation,transferring from AA-2βG fed mice to HFr D fed ***,AA-2βG exerted neuroprotective effects involving the enrichment of Lactobacillus and Akkermansia,potentially beneficial intestinal *** present study provided the evidence that AA-2βG could improve indices of cognition and neuroinflammmation via modulating gut dybiosis and preventing leaky *** a potential functional food ingredient,AA-2βG may be applied to attenuate neuroinflammation associated with Western-style diets.

Dynamic simulation plays a fundamental role in security evaluation of distribution networks(DNs).However,the strong stiffness and non-linearity of distributed generation(DG)models in DNs bring about burdensome computation and noteworthy instability on traditional methods which hampers the rapid response of simulation ***,a novel L-stable approximate analytical method with high accuracy is proposed to handle these *** method referred to as multistage discontinuous Galerkin method(MDGM),first derives approximate analytical solutions(AASs)of state variables which are explicit symbolic expressions concerning system ***,in each time window,it substitutes values for symbolic variables and trajectories of state variables are obtained *** paper applies MDGM to DG models to derive ***-truncation-error-based variable step size strategy is also developed to further improve simulation *** addition,this paper establishes detailed MDGM-based dynamic simulation *** case studies on a numerical problem,a modified 33-bus system and a practical large-scale DN,it can be seen that proposed method demonstrates fast and dependable performance compared with the traditional trapezoidal method.

The genus Bolbochromus Boucomont,1909 includes 3 subgenera(Bolbochromops Krikken&Li,2013;Metabolbochromus Krikken&Li,2013 and Bolbochromus Boucomont,1909)and 27 species(Krikken&Li,2013;Li et al.,2019;Selking,2019).Its geographic distribution is known ranging eastward from India and Sri Lanka in the Himalayas to Southeast Asia,Southern China,the Greater Sunda Islands,the Philippines,and its neighboring islands(Li et al.,2013).The genus is distinguished from other beetles of Bolboceratinae by:imagoes body usually bicolored with brownish yellow or reddish-brown markings;body length 5.8–13.0mm(Li et al.,2019);ocular canthi completely bisecting the eyes;arcuate anterior clypeal margin;pronotum lack tubercles(Krikken&Li,2013);distal antennomere lacking grooves,and inner surface of first antennomere with a polished,glabrous disc(Selking,2019).The members of Bolbochromus can be occasionally attracted to light(Krikken&Li,2013),the feature can be used to set up flight interception traps to obtain specimens.

Cost-effective fabrication of liquid metals via a laser induced graphene stamp for highly-stretchable integrated optoelectronics

Stretchable electronics have found widespread applications in various fields such as wearable electronics,soft robots,and *** an important promising alternative of traditional rigid conductors,liquid metals have demonstrated immense potential to provide high conductivity and stretchability for the stretchable electronic ***,limited by their fluidity and high surface tension,challenges remain in achieving liquid metal patterns with low-cost,high-precision,large-scale,and complex ***,a fabrication technique was proposed based on laser-induced graphene(LIG)stamps to enable liquid metal self-selectively adhere to *** metal patterns could thus be achieved in different designed geometries and could be transferred onto stretchable *** liquid metal patterns exhibit exceptional electrical conductivity(3.24×10^(6)S/m even under 1000%strain),high stretchability(1000%strain,maximum of 2500%),small resistance changes under significant deformations(with a quality factor of 62.5 under 1000%strain),and high resolution(down to 50μm).Utilizing the patterned liquid metals,a stretchable integrated multifunctional optoelectronic system was demonstrated,encompassing a stretchable display matrix,a pressure sensor array,a wireless powering coil,and cardiovascular sensors,which further highlight the remarkable application potential of liquid metals in optoelectronic user-interaction and advanced physiological monitoring.

Spark,a distributed computing platform,has rapidly developed in the field of big *** in-memory computing feature reduces disk read overhead and shortens data processing time,making it have broad application prospects in large-scale computing applications such as machine learning and image ***,the performance of the Spark platform still needs to be *** a large number of tasks are processed simultaneously,Spark’s cache replacementmechanismcannot identify high-value data partitions,resulting inmemory resources not being fully utilized and affecting the performance of the Spark *** address the problem that Spark’s default cache replacement algorithm cannot accurately evaluate high-value data partitions,firstly the weight influence factors of data partitions are modeled and ***,based on this weighted model,a cache replacement algorithm based on dynamic weighted data value is proposed,which takes into account hit rate and data *** integration and usage strategies are implemented based on LRU(LeastRecentlyUsed).Theweight update algorithm updates the weight value when the data partition information changes,accurately measuring the importance of the partition in the current job;the cache removal algorithm clears partitions without useful values in the cache to releasememory resources;the weight replacement algorithm combines partition weights and partition information to replace RDD partitions when memory remaining space is ***,by setting up a Spark cluster environment,the algorithm proposed in this paper is experimentally *** have shown that this algorithmcan effectively improve cache hit rate,enhance the performance of the platform,and reduce job execution time by 7.61%compared to existing improved algorithms.

The ovary is indispensable for female reproduction,and its age-dependent functional decline is the primary cause of ***,the molecular basis of ovarian aging in higher vertebrates remains poorly ***,we apply spatiotemporal transcriptomics to benchmark architecture organization as well as cellular and molecular determinants in young primate ovaries and compare these to aged primate *** a global view,somatic cells within the non-follicle region undergo more pronounced transcriptional fluctuation relative to those in the follicle region,likely constituting a hostile microenvironment that facilitates ovarian ***,we uncovered that inflammation,the senescent-associated secretory phenotype,senescence,and fibrosis are the likely primary contributors to ovarian aging(PCOA).Of note,we identified spatial co-localization between a PCOA-featured spot and an unappreciated MT2(Metallothionein 2)highly expressing spot(MT2^(high))characterized by high levels of inflammation,potentially serving as an aging hotspot in the primate ***,with advanced age,a subpopulation of MT2^(high)accumulates,likely disseminating and amplifying the senescent signal *** study establishes the first primate spatiotemporal transcriptomic atlas,advancing our understanding of mechanistic determinants underpinning primate ovarian aging and unraveling potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets for aging and age-associated human ovarian disorders.

The synovium,a thin layer of tissue that is adjacent to the joints and secretes synovial fluid,undergoes changes in aging that contribute to intense shoulder pain and other joint ***,the mechanism underlying human synovial aging remains poorly ***,we generated a comprehensive transcriptomic profile of synovial cells present in the subacromial synovium from young and aged *** delineating aging-related transcriptomic changes across different cell types and their associated regulatory networks,we identified two subsets of mesenchymal stromal cells(MSCs)in human synovium,which are lining and sublining MSCs,and found that angiogenesis and fibrosis-associated genes were upregulated whereas genes associated with cell adhesion and cartilage development were downregulated in aged ***,the specific cell-cell communications in aged synovium mirrors that of aging-related inflammation and tissue remodeling,including vascular hyperplasia and tissue *** particular,we identified forkhead box O1(FOXO1)as one of the major regulons for aging differentially expressed genes(DEGs)in synovial MSCs,and validated its downregulation in both lining and sublining MSC populations of the aged *** human FOXO1-depleted MSCs derived from human embryonic stem cells,we recapitulated the senescent phenotype observed in the subacromial synovium of aged *** data indicate an important role of FOXO1 in the regulation of human synovial ***,our study improves our understanding of synovial aging during joint degeneration,thereby informing the development of novel intervention strategies aimed at rejuvenating the aged joint.
