Orange fruit from trees infected by‘Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus’(CaLas)often do not look fully mature and exhibit off-flavours described as bitter,harsh,and metallic rather than juicy and *** previous studies have been carried out to understand the effect of CaLas on the flavour of orange juice using metabolomic methods,the mechanisms leading to the off-flavour that occurs in Huanglongbing(HLB)-symptomatic fruit are not well *** this study,fruits were collected from symptomatic and healthy Valencia sweet orange(Citrus sinensis)trees grafted on Swingle(*** X Poncirus trifoliata)*** tags for relative and absolute quantification(iTRAQ)and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS)were used to measure the proteins,sugars,organic acids,amino acids,and volatile *** results showed that most of the differentially expressed proteins involved in glycolysis,the tricarboxylic acid(TCA)cycle and amino-acid biosynthesis were degraded,and terpenoid metabolism was significantly downregulated in the symptomatic ***,limonene,3-carene,linalool,myrcene,andα-terpineol levels were significantly lower in fruit from CaLas-infected trees than from healthy *** phenomena were observed for sucrose and *** study indicated that off-flavour of symptomatic fruit was associated with a reduction in the levels of terpenoid products and the downregulation of proteins in glycolysis,the TCA cycle,and the terpenoid biosynthesis pathway.

A comprehensive numerical model is developed to simulate the growth of microalgae under light/dark cycling *** purpose of this study is to predict the growth rate of Chlorella vulgaris cultivated in photobioreactors(PBRs) in order to improve the light conditions for microalgae and enhance the photosynthetic *** fluid dynamics(CFD) is used to simulate its internal hydrodynamic *** Lagrangian method is employed to track the movement of microalgae *** radiative transfer equation(RTE)is used to obtain light intensity *** combination of light radiation field and microalgae cell motions is used to construct the light history and they are integrated into the model of the photosynthetic units(PSU) to calculate the microalgae growth *** numerical results demonstrate that enhanced light/dark cycling frequency with ordered mixing can promote efficient microalgae *** effect of the vortex flow field generated by the baffles in an air-lift PBR is analyzed for increasing microalgae growth *** using the 1:1 baffle spacing,the biomass production of microalgae is increased by 41.8% compared to the original PBR.

As the adoption of explainable AI(XAI) continues to expand, the urgency to address its privacy implications intensifies. Despite a growing corpus of research in AI privacy and explainability, there is little attention on privacy-preserving model explanations. This article presents the first thorough survey about privacy attacks on model explanations and their countermeasures. Our contribution to this field comprises a thorough analysis of research papers with a connected taxonomy that facilitates the categorization of privacy attacks and countermeasures based on the targeted explanations. This work also includes an initial investigation into the causes of privacy leaks. Finally, we discuss unresolved issues and prospective research directions uncovered in our analysis. This survey aims to be a valuable resource for the research community and offers clear insights for those new to this domain. To support ongoing research, we have established an online resource repository, which will be continuously updated with new and relevant findings.

Symmetry breaking plays a pivotal role in modern *** self-similarity is also a symmetry,and appears ubiquitously in nature,a fundamental question arises as to whether self-similarity breaking makes sense or ***,by identifying an important type of critical fluctuation,dubbed‘phases fluctuations’,and comparing the numerical results for those with self-similarity and those lacking self-similarity with respect to phases fluctuations,we show that self-similarity can indeed be broken,with significant consequences,at least in nonequilibrium *** find that the breaking of self-similarity results in new critical exponents,giving rise to a violation of the well-known finite-size scaling,or the less well-known finite-time scaling,and different leading exponents in either the ordered or the disordered phases of the paradigmatic Ising model on two-or three-dimensional finite lattices,when subject to the simplest nonequilibrium driving of linear heating or cooling through its critical *** is in stark contrast to identical exponents and different amplitudes in usual critical *** results demonstrate how surprising driven nonequilibrium critical phenomena can *** application of this theory to other classical and quantum phase transitions is also anticipated.

We summarize the recent developments in the model design and computation for a few representative quantum manybody systems,encompassing quantum critical metals beyond the Hertz-Millis-Moriya framework with pseudogap and superconductivity,SYK non-Fermi-liquid with self-tuned quantum criticality and fluctuation induced superconductivity,and the flat-band quantum Moirélattice models in continuum where the interplay of quantum geometry of flat-band wave function and the long-range Coulomb interactions gives rise to novel insulating phases at integer fillings and superconductivity away from *** the narrative choreography seems simple,we show how important the appropriate model design and their tailor-made algorithmic developments-in other words,the scientific imagination inspired by the corresponding fast experimental developments in the aforementioned systems-compel us to invent and discover new knowledge and insights in the sport and pastime of quantum many-body research.

An intelligent single radar image de-raining method based on unsupervised self-attention generative adversarial networks is proposed to improve the accuracy of wave height parameter inversion *** method builds a trainable end-to-end de-raining model with an unsupervised cycle-consistent adversarial network as an AI framework,which does not require pairs of rain-contaminated and corresponding ground-truth rain-free images for *** model is trained by feeding rain-contaminated and clean radar images in an unpaired manner,and the atmospheric scattering model parameters are not required as a prior ***,a self-attention mechanism is introduced into the model,allowing it to focus on rain clutter when processing radar *** combines global and local rain clutter context information to output more accurate and clear de-raining radar *** proposed method is validated by applying it to actualfield test data,which shows that compared with the wave height derived from the original rain-contaminated data,the root-mean-square error is reduced by 0.11 m and the correlation coefficient of the wave height is increased by 14%using the de-raining *** results demonstrate that the method effectively reduces the impact of rain on the accuracy of wave height parameter estimation from marine X-band radar images.

Responses of woody plant root and xylem sap ATP to soil drying

The ATP in roots and xylem sap of two woody plant species, Platycladus orientalis and Acacia auriculiformis, subjected to rapid and slow soil drying has been determined employing firefly luciferase ATP assay method (sensitivity is at 10-12 mol ATP L-1). The ATP levels in the two species were 1.6 nmol. gDW-1 and 0.6 nmol. gDW-1 in roots, and 5.6 μmol·m-3 and 8 μmol ·m-3 in xylem sap, respectively. When plants of P. orientalis and A. auriculiformis were subjected to rapid soil drying, respectively, as soil water content （SWC） decreased from the normal level ( 0.2.5 g·gDW-1) to 0.02 and 0.06 g·gDW-1, separately, plant water potential （ ψ ）dropped to - 4 and - 3.2 MPa, differently, the ATP in roots decreased 99.7% and 42%, respectively. When the rapidly dried soil was watered for up to 6 d, SWC and ψ, were found to recover to their normal levels, but ATP content in roots of P. orientalis and A. auriculiformis recovered by 10% and 23%, respectively. Cultivated land pressure represents a direct reflection of grain security. Existing relevant studies rarely approached the spatiotemporal pattern of cultivated land pressure or the spatial heterogeneity of its influencing factors from the level of economic *** the Huaihai Economic Zone(HEZ), China for case analysis, this study investigated the spatiotemporal pattern of cultivated land pressure in diverse periods from 2000 to 2018 based on a modified cultivated land pressure index and spatial correlation models. On this basis, it explored the influencing factors of the spatial differentiation of cultivated land pressure in the late stage of the study using geographical detector as well as multi-scale geographically weighted regression model. The results indicated that: 1) in the study period, the global cultivated land pressure index of the study area decreased gradually, but cultivated land pressure increased locally in a significant way, especially in the central and southern Shandong Province;2) the spatial pattern of cultivated land pressure manifested global clustering features. Hot and secondary-hot spots presented a narrowing and clustering trend, whereas cold and secondary-cold spots manifested a spreading and clustering trend;3) average slope, the proportion of non-grain crops, population urbanization rate, and multiple cropping index have significant effects on the spatial differentiation of cultivated land pressure. The former three factors were positively correlated with cultivated land pressure, and the last factor was negatively correlated with cultivated land pressure;and 4) the amount of cultivated land has increased in the central and southern Shandong Province through land consolidation which, nonetheless, failed to improve the grain production. K-nearest neighbor(KNN) has yielded excellent performance in physiological signals based on emotion recognition. But there are still some issues: the majority vote only by the nearest neighbors is too simple to deal with complex(like skewed) class distribution;features with the same contribution to the similarity will degrade the classification accuracy;samples in boundaries between classes are easily misclassified when k is larger. Therefore, we propose an improved KNN algorithm called WB-KNN, which takes into account the weight(both features and classification) and boundaries between classes. Firstly, a novel weighting method based on the distance and farthest neighbors named WDF is proposed to weight the classification, which improves the voting accuracy by making the nearer neighbors contribute more to the classification and using the farthest neighbors to reduce the weight of non-target class. Secondly, feature weight is introduced into the distance formula, so that the significant features contribute more to the similarity than noisy or irrelevant features. Thirdly, a voting classifier is adopted in order to overcome the weakness of KNN in boundaries between classes by combining different classifiers. Results of WB-KNN algorithm are encouraging compared with the traditional KNN and other classification algorithms on the physiological dataset with a skewed class distribution. Classification accuracy for 29 participants achieves 94.219 2% for the recognition of four emotions.
