The magnetic stabilization flow regime could also be created forGeldart-Bnonmagnetizable particles pro-vided some magnetizable particles are introduced and the magnetic field is applied.This study aimed toexplore the size(d_(pM))and density(ρ_(pM))effects of magnetizable particles on its operating range.The upperlimit(Umb;)could not be determined from the △P_(b)-U_(g)↓curve but could from analyzing the variation of △P_(b)-fluctuation with increasing U_(g).Due to the variation of U_(mfH)(lower limit)with d_(pM) and ppw,both U_(mbH)-U_(mfH) and(U_(mbH)-U_(mfH))/U_(mfH) were used to quantify the operating range of magnetic stabilization.U_(mbH)-U_(mfH) varied hardly with ρ_(pM) but increased significantly with decreasing ρ_(pM).(U_(mbH)-U_(mfH))/U_(mfH)increased as d_(pM) or ρ_(pM) decreased.lt was more difficult for the nonmagnetizable particles to escape fromthe network formed by the smaller/lighter magnetizable particles.For the same magnitude of change,dp had a stronger effect than ρ_(pM) on(U_(mbH)-U_(mfH))/U_(mfH).Neither U_(mbH)-U_(mfH) nor(U_(mbH)-U_(mfH):)/Uma variedmonotonously with the minimum fluidization velocity of the magnetizable particles,indicating that nostraightforward criterion for matching the magnetizable particles to the given nonmagnetizable particlescould be established based on their minimum fluidization velocities to maximize the operating range ofmagnetic stabilization.

Identification of flow regimes and determination of the boundaries for magnetized fluidized bed with Geldart-B particles

The magnetized fluidized bed(MFB)with Geldart-B particles exhibits many distinct flow regimes depend-ing on the magnetic field intensity(H)and gas velocity(U_(g)).The identification of these regimes was reviewed for the MFB with magnetizable particles and that with binary admixture of magnetizable and nonmagnetizable particles.Meanwhile,methods for determining the boundaries between two adjacent flow regimes were clarified.The MFB state was found to depend not only on H and Ug but also on their application sequence(i.e.,operation mode)within certain operating zones.The dependence feature arose from that the MFB therein could have different equilibrium states for the same combination of H and Ug.Furthermore,such a polymorphic characteristic of the MFB was revealed to result from the internal friction among the particles that were in unfluidized/packed state.Many of the MFB states were demon-strated to be in metastable equilibrium.Nevertheless,they differed significantly from the metastates well-known in the discipline of physical chemistry,such as supercooling and superheated.In fact,they belonged to the amorphous/glass state.This review will deepen our hydrodynamic understanding of the MFB and further promote its commercial application in the chemical and biochemical industries.

Speech Recognition via CTC-CNN Model

In the speech recognition system,the acoustic model is an important underlying model,and its accuracy directly affects the performance of the entire system.This paper introduces the construction and training process of the acoustic model in detail and studies the Connectionist temporal classification(CTC)algorithm,which plays an important role in the end-to-end framework,established a convolutional neural network(CNN)combined with an acoustic model of Connectionist temporal classification to improve the accuracy of speech recognition.This study uses a sound sensor,ReSpeakerMic Array v2.0.1,to convert the collected speech signals into text or corresponding speech signals to improve communication and reduce noise and hardware interference.The baseline acousticmodel in this study faces challenges such as long training time,high error rate,and a certain degree of overfitting.The model is trained through continuous design and improvement of the relevant parameters of the acousticmodel,and finally the performance is selected according to the evaluation index.Excellentmodel,which reduces the error rate to about 18%,thus improving the accuracy rate.Finally,comparative verificationwas carried out from the selection of acoustic feature parameters,the selection of modeling units,and the speaker’s speech rate,which further verified the excellent performance of the CTCCNN_5+BN+Residual model structure.In terms of experiments,to train and verify the CTC-CNN baseline acoustic model,this study uses THCHS-30 and ST-CMDS speech data sets as training data sets,and after 54 epochs of training,the word error rate of the acoustic model training set is 31%,the word error rate of the test set is stable at about 43%.This experiment also considers the surrounding environmental noise.Under the noise level of 80∼90 dB,the accuracy rate is 88.18%,which is the worst performance among all levels.In contrast,at 40–60 dB,the accuracy was as high as 97.33%due to less noise pollution.

Creating large EMS populations for functional genomics and breeding in wheat

Wheat germplasm is a fundamental resource for basic research,applied studies,and wheat breeding,which can be enriched normally by several paths,such as collecting natural lines,accumulating breeding lines,and introducing mutagenesis materials.Ethyl methane sulfonate(EMS)is an alkylating agent that can effectively introduce genetic variations in a wide variety of plant species.In this study,we created a million-scale EMS population(MEP)that started with the Chinese wheat cultivars‘Luyan 128’,‘Jimai 38’,‘Jimai 44’,and‘Shannong 30’.In the M1 generation,the MEP had numerous phenotypical variations,such as>3,000 chlorophyll-deficient mutants,2,519 compact spikes,and 1,692 male sterile spikes.There were also rare mutations,including 30 independent tillers each with double heads.Some M1 variations of chlorophyll-deficiency and compact spikes were inheritable,appearing in the M2 or M3 generations.To advance the entire MEP to higher generations,we adopted a single-seed descendent(SSD)approach.All other seed composites of M2 were used to screen other agronomically important traits,such as the tolerance to herbicide quizalofop-P-methyl.The MEP is available for collaborative projects,and provides a valuable toolbox for wheat genetics and breeding for sustainable agriculture.

Enhancing SAEAs with unevaluated solutions:a case study of relation model for expensive optimization

Surrogate-assisted evolutionary algorithms(SAEAs) hold significant importance in resolving expensive optimization problems. Extensive efforts have been devoted to improving the efficiency of SAEAs through the development of proficient model-assisted solution selection methods, which, however, first requires generating high-quality solutions. The fundamental paradigm of evaluating a limited number of solutions in each generation within SAEAs reduces the variance of adjacent populations, thereby affecting the quality of offspring solutions. This is a frequently encountered issue yet receives little attention. To address the issue, this paper presents a framework using unevaluated solutions to enhance the efficiency of SAEAs.The surrogate model is employed to identify high-quality solutions for the direct generation of new solutions without evaluation. To ensure dependable selection, we have introduced two tailored relation models to select the optimal solution and the unevaluated population. A comprehensive experimental analysis is performed on two test suites, which showcases the superiority of the relation model over regression and classification models in the solution selection phase. Furthermore, the surrogate-selected unevaluated solutions with high potential have been shown to enhance the efficiency of the algorithm significantly.

Very long wave infrared quantum dot photodetector up to 18μm

Colloidal quantum dots(CQDs)are of interest for optoelectronic devices because of the possibility of high-throughput solution processing and the wide energy gap tunability from ultraviolet to infrared wavelengths.People may question about the upper limit on the CQD wavelength region.To date,although the CQD absorption already reaches terahertz,the practical photodetection wavelength is limited within mid-wave infrared.To figure out challenges on CQD photoresponse in longer wavelength,would reveal the ultimate property on these nanomaterials.What’s more,it motivates interest in bottom-up infrared photodetection with less than 10%cost compared with epitaxial growth semiconductor bulk.In this work,developing a re-growth method and ionic doping modification,we demonstrate photodetection up to 18μm wavelength on HgTe CQD.At liquid nitrogen temperature,the responsivity reaches 0.3 A/W and 0.13 A/W,with specific detectivity 6.6×108 Jones and 2.3×109 Jones for 18μm and 10μm CQD photoconductors,respectively.This work is a step toward answering the general question on the CQD photodetection wavelength limitation.

A Global Optimality Principle for Fully Coupled Mean-field Control Systems

This paper concerns a global optimality principle for fully coupled mean-field control systems.Both the first-order and the second-order variational equations are fully coupled mean-field linear FBSDEs. A new linear relation is introduced, with which we successfully decouple the fully coupled first-order variational equations. We give a new second-order expansion of Y^(ε) that can work well in mean-field framework. Based on this result, the stochastic maximum principle is proved. The comparison with the stochastic maximum principle for controlled mean-field stochastic differential equations is supplied.

Fuzzy Proportional Integral Derivative control of a voice coil actuator system for adaptive deformable mirrors

Research on adaptive deformable mirror technology for voice coil actuators(VCAs)is an important trend in the development of large ground-based telescopes.A voice coil adaptive deformable mirror contains a large number of actuators,and there are problems with structural coupling and large temperature increases in their internal coils.Additionally,parameters of the traditional proportional integral derivative(PID)control cannot be adjusted in real-time to adapt to system changes.These problems can be addressed by introducing fuzzy control methods.A table lookup method is adopted to replace real-time calculations of the regular fuzzy controller during the control process,and a prototype platform has been established to verify the effectiveness and robustness of this process.Experimental tests compare the control performance of traditional and fuzzy proportional integral derivative(Fuzzy-PID)controllers,showing that,in system step response tests,the fuzzy control system reduces rise time by 20.25%,decreases overshoot by 78.24%,and shortens settling time by 67.59%.In disturbance rejection experiments,fuzzy control achieves a 46.09%reduction in the maximum deviation,indicating stronger robustness.The Fuzzy-PID controller,based on table lookup,outperforms the standard controller significantly,showing excellent potential for enhancing the dynamic performance and disturbance rejection capability of the voice coil motor actuator system.

Effect of CO_(2) Opposing Multiple Jets on Thermoacoustic Instability and NO_(x) Emissions in a Lean-Premixed Model Combustor

This paper experimentally studied the effect of CO_(2) opposing multiple jets on the thermoacoustic instability and NO_(x) emissions in a lean-premixed model combustor.The feasibility was verified from three variables:the CO_(2) jet flow rate,hole numbers,and hole diameters of the nozzles.Results indicate that the control effect of thermoacoustic instability and NO_x emissions show a reverse trend with the increase of open area ratio on the whole,and the optimal jet flow rate range is 1-4 L/min with CO_(2) opposing multiple jets.In this flow rate range,the amplitude and frequency of the dynamic pressure and heat release signals CH~* basically decrease as the CO_(2) flow rate increases,which avoids high-frequency and high-amplitude thermoacoustic instability.The amplitude-damped ratio of dynamic pressure and CH*can reach as high as 98.75% and 93.64% with an optimal open area ratio of 3.72%.NO_(x) emissions also decrease as the jet flow rate increases,and the maximum suppression ratio can reach 68.14%.Besides,the flame shape changes from a steep inverted "V" to a more flat "M",and the flame length will become shorter with CO_(2) opposing multiple jets.This research achieved the synchronous control of thermoacoustic instability and NO_(x) emissions,which could be a design reference for constructing a safer and cleaner combustor.
