Shipwreck salvage is a risky,time-consuming,and expensive *** there are many sunken ships along coastlines and in the open seas,the salvage process of a sunken ship has rarely been *** integrated salvage of the"Yangtze River EstuaryⅡ"shipwreck used a novel method with 22 closely locked curved rectangular pipes to form a watertight base that wrapped the shipwreck *** basing was lifted out of the water using a powerful crane situated on an engineering *** the first time,the tunneling method was used in a shipwreck salvage project,significantly reducing the disturbance to the shipwreck and its stowage,thereby preserving the original state and integrity of the shipwreck to the greatest *** this study,the basic concepts of the salvage method and process are *** to critical issues in the new salvage method are provided,including jacking force prediction and major considerations for the structural design of the salvage *** design of the salvage system and salvage process of the"Yangtze River EstuaryⅡ"shipwreck are *** monitored jacking force,pipe deformation,and observed water-tightness verified that the proposed method was effective and *** possible application scenarios for the proposed method are presented at the end.

CeCO_(3)OH has a unique crystal structure and excellent optical,electronic and catalytic properties,which has been widely investigated for many ***,ceria obtained from CeCO_(3)OH has a morphology that is similar to that of the precursor,and the CeO_(2)-based products obtained from CeCO_(3)OH exhibit outstanding properties,such as catalytic performances,owing to their designed morphology and oxygen vacancies(OVs).To introduce CeCO_(3)OH into a wider range of potential researchers,we first systematically review the physico-chemical properties,synthesis,reaction and morphology tuning mechanism of CeCO_(3)OH,and summarize the conversion behavior from CeCO_(3)OH to ***,we thoroughly survey the applications of CeCO_(3)OH and its conversion *** for further investigations of CeCO_(3)OH are also made in this *** is hoped that the exhaustive co mpilation of the valuable properties and considerable potential investigations of CeCO_(3)OH will promote further applications of CeCO_(3)OH and CeO_(2)-based functional materials.

Simulated Method on the Release of Sediment Pollutants in the Temple Lake

[ Objective] The research aimed to study simulated method on the release of sediment pollutants in the Temple Lake. [ Method] For existing pollution status of the Temple Lake, sediments and overlying water were sampled by the integrated device. Based on the technical route, through the orthogonal test, release processes of nitrogen and phosphorus from sediment were simulated, and their release speeds were estimated under different temperatures, pH and DO in the laboratory. Relationship between environmental factor and pollutant release was explored. [ Result] The integrated device of sediment sampling and test had simple structure, cheap cost and easy operation, and sediment pollution test could be conducted without disturbing sediment after collecting sediment. Among the studied three impact factors, temperature had the maximum influence on contaminant release process, which should be considered as the important factor of future research. [ Conclusion] Compared with routine research method of sediment contaminant release from other lakes, simulated method of contaminant release from sediment in the Temple Lake had many advantaqes, which was favorable for scientific research in latter period and actual lake control.

Air pollution and inhalation exposure to particulate matter of different sizes in rural households using improved stoves in central China

Household air pollution is considered to be among the top environmental risks in *** examine the performance of improved stoves for reduction of indoor particulate matter（PM） emission and exposure in rural households, individual inhalation exposure to size-resolved PM was investigated using personal portable samplers carried by residents using wood gasifier stoves or improved coal stoves in a rural county in Central *** of PM with different sizes in stationary indoor and outdoor air were also monitored at paired sites. The stationary concentrations of size-resolved PM in indoor air were greater than those in outdoor air, especially finer particles PM0.25. The daily averaged exposure concentrations of PM0.25, PM1.0, PM2.5 and total suspended particle for all the surveyed residents were 74.4 ± 41.1, 159.3 ± 74.3, 176.7 ± 78.1 and 217.9 ± 78.1 μg/m3,respectively. Even using the improved stoves, the individual exposure to indoor PM far exceeded the air quality guideline by WHO at 25 μg/m3. Submicron particles PM1.0 were the dominant PM fraction for personal exposure and indoor and outdoor air. Personal exposure exhibited a closer correlation with indoor PM concentrations than that for outdoor concentrations. Both inhalation exposure and indoor air PM concentrations in the rural households with gasifier firewood stoves were evidently lower than the reported results using traditional firewood stoves. However, local governments in the studied rural areas should exercise caution when widely and hastily promoting gasifier firewood stoves in place of improved coal stoves, due to the higher PM levels in indoor and outdoor air and personal inhaled exposure.

Selective loading of spatially separated redox cocatalysts on direct Z-scheme heterojunctions holds great promise for advancing the efficiency of artificial photosynthesis,which however is limited to the photodeposition of noble metal cocatalysts and the fabrication of hollow double-shelled semiconductor ***,the co-exposure of discrete cocatalyst and semiconductor increases the product diversity when both the exposed sites of which participate in CO_(2)***,we present a facile and versatile protocol to overcome these limitations via surface coating of Z-scheme heterojunctions with bifunctional noble-metal-free *** Cu_(2)O/Fe_(2)O_(3)(CF)as a model heterojunction and layered Ni(OH)_(2)as a model cocatalyst,it is found that Ni(OH)_(2)lying on the surfaces of Cu_(2)O and Fe_(2)O_(3)separately co-catalyzes the CO_(2)reduction and H_(2)O *** experimental and theoretical investigation reveals that the Ni(OH)_(2)outer layer:(i)mitigates the charge recombination in CF and balances their transfer and consumption;(ii)reduces the rate-determining barriers for CO_(2)-to-CO and H_(2)O-to-O_(2)conversion,(iii)suppresses the side proton reduction occurring on CF,and(iv)protects the CF from component *** expected,the redox reactions stoichiometrically proceed,and significantly enhanced photocatalytic activity,selectivity,and stability in CO generation are achieved by the stacked Cu_(2)O/Fe_(2)O_(3)@Ni(OH)_(2)in contrast to *** study demonstrates the significance of the synergy between bifunctional cocatalysts and Z-scheme heterojunctions for improving the efficacy of overall redox reactions,opening a fresh avenue for the rational design of artificial photosynthetic systems.
