Use of Evidence-Based Research Approach in RCTs of Acupuncture-Related Therapies for Primary Dysmenorrhea: A Meta-Research

Objective To assess the use of evidence-based research(EBR)approach in randomized controlled trials(RCTs)of acupuncture-related therapies for primary dysmenorrhea(PD).Methods PubMed,EMBASE,Cochrane Library,china National Knowledge Infrastructure,Wanfang Database,Chinese Biomedical Database,and china Science and Technology Journal Database were searched from January {2.3 to December 2.2. for RCTs of acupuncture on *** full text and references of each RCT were read to assess whether systematic reviews(SRs)or other types of studies with similar research questions and end-users’perspectives were cited to justify and design the *** addition,the discussion section were analyzed to evaluate whether trials placed the new result in the existing SRs to draw a *** logistic regression was used to find variables that associated with 3 aspects of EBR approach:(1)citing clinical studies for justification,(2.citing relevant studies that obtain the perspectives of end users,and(3)citing clinical studies for results *** Of 473 RCTs included,45.67%(2.6)of the trials cited relevant similar studies,2..56%(102.referenced to the studies that collected end-users’perspectives,and 10.99%(52.placed result in the context of the previous *** RCTs appropriately applied EBR *** all the included studies,3.17%(15)of the trials used SRs to inform study questions but none of them used updated SRs with acceptable quality;1.05%(5)of the trials cited SRs of end-user’s perspectives in the justification and design of the study,and only 1 trial added results in existing SR to draw a *** of publication,language,funding,registration,ethical approval and number of sites were significantly associated with 1 of the 3 aspects of EBR *** Few RCTs in acupuncture-related therapies for PD used the EBR approach to minimize research ***,research institutes,funding agencies,ethics committees,journals and peer

Hyperuricemia(HUA)is a vital risk factor for chronic kidney diseases(CKD)and development of functional foods capable of protecting CKD is of *** paper aimed to explore the amelioration effects and mechanism of Andrias davidianus bone peptides(ADBP)on HUA-induced kidney *** the present study,we generated the standard ADBP which contained high hydrophobic amino acid and low molecular peptide *** vitro results found that ADBP protected uric acid(UA)-induced HK-2.cells from damage by modulating urate transporters and antioxidant *** vivo results indicated that ADBP effectively ameliorated renal injury in HUA-induced CKD mice,evidenced by a remarkable decrease in serum UA,creatinine and blood urea nitrogen,improving kidney UA excretion,antioxidant defense and histological kidney *** analysis highlighted 14 metabolites that could be selected as potential biomarkers and attributed to the amelioration effects of ADBP on CKD mice kidney ***,ADBP restored the gut microbiome homeostasis in CKD mice,especially with respect to the elevated helpful microbial abundance,and the decreased harmful bacterial *** study demonstrated that ADBP displayed great nephroprotective effects,and has great promise as a food or functional food ingredient for the prevention and treatment of HUA-induced CKD.

An Encoding-Decoding Framework Based on CNN for circ RNA-RBP Binding Sites Prediction

Predicting RNA binding protein(RBP) binding sites on circular RNAs(circ RNAs) is a fundamental step to understand their interaction mechanism. Numerous computational methods are developed to solve this problem, but they cannot fully learn the features. Therefore, we propose circ-CNNED, a convolutional neural network(CNN)-based encoding and decoding framework. We first adopt two encoding methods to obtain two original matrices. We preprocess them using CNN before fusion. To capture the feature dependencies, we utilize temporal convolutional network(TCN) and CNN to construct encoding and decoding blocks, respectively. Then we introduce global expectation pooling to learn latent information and enhance the robustness of circ-CNNED. We perform circ-CNNED across 37 datasets to evaluate its effect. The comparison and ablation experiments demonstrate that our method is superior. In addition, motif enrichment analysis on four datasets helps us to explore the reason for performance improvement of circ-CNNED.

Scene-based recommendation has proven its usefulness in E-commerce,by recommending commodities based on a given ***,scenes are typically unknown in advance,which necessitates scene discovery for *** this article,we study scene discovery for E-commerce *** first formalize a scene as a set of commodity cate-gories that occur simultaneously and frequently in real-world situations,and model an E-commerce platform as a heteroge-neous information network(HIN),whose nodes and links represent different types of objects and different types of rela-tionships between objects,*** then formulate the scene mining problem for E-commerce as an unsupervised learning problem that finds the overlapping clusters of commodity categories in the *** solve the problem,we pro-pose a non-negative matrix factorization based method SMEC(Scene Mining for E-Commerce),and theoretically prove its *** six real-world E-commerce datasets,we finally conduct an extensive experimental study to evaluate SMEC against 13 other methods,and show that SMEC consistently outperforms its competitors with regard to various evaluation measures.

Objective Studies have shown that electroacupuncture(EA)can alleviate cognitive impairments from Alzheimer’s disease(AD)by regulating the expression of adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase(AMPK),but the specific mechanism involved remains to be ***,this study explores the potential mechanism by which EA improves cognitive function from the perspective of mitochondrial *** The four-month-old transgenic mice with amyloid precursor protein(APP)/presenilin 1(PS1)and AMPKα1-subunit conditional knockout(AMPKα1-cKO)were used for *** evaluate the effects of EA treatment on cognitive function,the T-maze and Morris water maze were *** addition,chemical exchange saturation transfer,thioflavin staining,transmission electron microscopy,mitochondrial membrane potential,and Western blotting were used to examine the potential mechanisms underlying the effects of EA on APP/PS1 *** Both APP/PS1 mice and AMPKα1-cKO mice exhibited dysfunction in mitochondrial dynamics accompanied by learning and memory *** of the AMPK/peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γcoactivator-1α(PGC-1α)pathway increased pathological amyloid-β(Aβ)deposition and aggravated the dysfunction in mitochondrial *** addition,EA rescued learning and memory deficits in APP/PS1 mice by activating the AMPK/PGC-1αpathway,specifically by reducing pathological Aβdeposition,normalizing energy metabolism,protecting the structure and function of mitochondria,increasing the levels of mitochondrial fusion proteins,and downregulating the expression of fission ***,the therapeutic effect of EA on cognition in APP/PS1 mice was hindered by AMPKα1 *** The regulation of hippocampal mitochondrial dynamics and reduction in Aβdeposition via the AMPK/PGC-1αpathway are critical for the ability of EA to ameliorate cognitive impairment in APP/PS1 mice.

Preparation of yttrium oxide coating with enhanced thermal shock resistance on refractories used for titanium alloy melting and casting

In order to enhance the service life of refractories for melting and casting of titanium alloy,preparation of yttrium oxide coatings on the refractories surface is an effective *** improvement of thermal shock stability of the coating is beneficial to its spalling resistance during the high-temperature service,and the available slurry with good performance is the *** effects of the varieties and contents of dispersant(sodium tripolyphosphate,sodium hexametaphosphate,sodium pyrophosphate,citric acid and polycarboxylate ammonium salt)and binder(aluminum dihydrogen phosphate,zirconium acetate and yttria sol)on the stability,rheological and thixotropic properties of yttrium oxide waterbased slurry were investigated,and the effects of slurry composition design on the thermal shock resistance of the coating were *** results showed that the introduction of polycarboxylate ammonium salt as dispersant significantly improved the stability of the slurry,and the varieties of the binders had significant effects on the dispersibility of the *** aluminum dihydrogen phosphate and polycarboxylate ammonium salt were used as binder and dispersant,respectively,the slurry had better stability,suitable rheological and thixotropic *** using aluminum dihydrogen phosphate as binder,the coating had good thermal shock resistance and no obvious cracks were observed for the coating after thermal shock,which was attributed to the yttrium aluminate binding phase generated in the *** effective method was provided for preparing yttrium oxide coatings with enhanced thermal shock resistance applied in the process of titanium alloy melting and casting.
