To the Editor: We sincerely applaud the work by Tang et al., in which they described caudate lobe-sparing subtotal hepatectomy as treatment for intrahepatic arterioportal fistulas [ 1 ]. Compared to intrahepatic arterioportal fistulas, portal vein-hepatic vein fistulas are rarely reported. Patients typically lack clinical symptoms such as hyperammonemia, cholestatic jaundice, and hypoglycemia, unless the shunt becomes relatively large [ 2, 3 ]. Herein, we describe partial hepatectomy as a treatment for cases of left portal vein-middle hepatic vein fistulas.

The impact wear behavior and damage mechanism of dissimilar welded joints between U26Mn frog and U75 V rail before and after normalizing treatment were studied by cyclic impact *** experiment indicated that the impact wear volume of the joints increased with the increasing number of impact *** main wear mechanisms include pitting wear,mild fatigue wear,delamination wear,and fatigue wear,and plastic deformation was the primary impact wear *** them,fatigue wear had the greatest influence on wear volume,while other wear mechanisms had limited *** impact wear resistance of the base material was better than that of the heat-affected *** treatment was beneficial to improving the impact wear resistance of welded joints owing to its effect to promote pearlite recovery,grain refinement,and uniform distribution of *** martensite generated in the rail welded joints aggravated the impact wear damage to the materials,which should be avoided.

BACKGROUND Hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage(HCH),the most common chronic diseases,has become a topic of global public health *** To investigate the role of rehabilitative nursing interventions in optimizing the postoperative mental status recovery phase and to provide clinical value for future rehabilitation of patients with *** This randomized controlled study included 120 patients with cerebral HCH who were contained to our neurosurgery department between May 2021–May 2023 as the *** participants have randomly sampled and grouped into the observation and control *** observation group received the rehabilitation nursing model,whereas the control group have given conventional *** conscious state of the patients was assessed at 7,14,21,and 30 d *** one month of care,sleep quality,anxiety,and depression were compared between the two *** and family satisfaction were assessed using a nursing care *** The results showed that the state of consciousness scores of the patients in both groups significantly increased(P<0.05)after surgical *** the 14th day onwards,differences in the state of consciousness scores between the two groups of patients began to appear(P<0.05).After one month of care,the sleep quality,anxiety state,and depression state of patients were significantly better in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).Satisfaction with nursing care was higher in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION The rehabilitation nursing model has a more complete system compared to conventional nursing,which can effectively improve the postoperative quality of life of patients with cerebral hemorrhage and improve the efficiency of mental state recovery;however,further analysis and research are needed to provide more scientific evidence.

Background: Complete resection of locally advanced sigmoid colon cancer(LASCC) is sometimes difficult. Patients with LASCC have a dismal prognosis and poor quality of life, which has encouraged the evaluation of alternative multimodality treatments. This prospective study aimed to assess the feasibility and efficacy of neoadjuvant chemora?diotherapy(neo CRT) followed by surgery as treatment of selected patients with unresectable ***: We studied the patients with unresectable LASCC who received neo CRT followed by surgery between October 2010 and December 2012. The neoadjuvant regimen consisted of external?beam radiotherapy to 50 Gy and capecitabine?based chemotherapy every 3 weeks. Surgery was scheduled 6–8 weeks after ***: Twenty?one patients were included in this study. The median follow?up was 42 months(range, 17–57 months). All patients completed neo CRT and surgery. Resection with microscopically negative margins(R0 resection) was achieved in 20 patients(95.2%). Pathologic complete response was observed in 8 patients(38.1%). Multivisceral resection was necessary in only 7 patients(33.3%). Two patients(9.5%) experienced grade 2 postopera?tive complications. No patients died within 30 days after surgery. For 18 patients with pathologic M0(yp M0) disease, the cumulative probability of 3?year local recurrence?free survival, disease?free survival and overall survival was 100.0%, 88.9% and 100.0%, respectively. For all 21 patients, the cumulative probability of 3?year overall survival was 95.2% and bladder function was well ***: For patients with unresectable LASCC, preoperative chemoradiotherapy and surgery can be performed safely and may result in an increased survival rate.

Seeing is an important index to evaluate the quality of an astronomical *** estimate seeing at the Muztagh-Ata site with height and time quantitatively,the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts reanalysis database(ERA5)is *** calculated from ERA5 is compared consistently with the Differential Image Motion Monitor seeing at the height of 12 *** show that seeing decays exponentially with height at the Muztagh-Ata *** decays the fastest in fall in 2021 and most slowly with height in *** seeing condition is better in fall than in *** median value of seeing at 12 m is 0.89 arcsec,the maximum value is1.21 arcsec in August and the minimum is 0.66 arcsec in *** median value of seeing at 12 m is 0.72arcsec in the nighttime and 1.08 arcsec in the *** is a combination of annual and about biannual variations with the same phase as temperature and wind speed indicating that seeing variation with time is influenced by temperature and wind *** Richardson number Ri is used to analyze the atmospheric stability and the variations of seeing are consistent with Ri between *** quantitative results can provide an important reference for a telescopic observation strategy.

The evaluation of ecosystem health has become one of the main research topics of ecosystem science, thus more and more assessment methods and frameworks have been put forward in recent years. However, the attention people pay to ecosystem health is actually more about what the social functions the ecosystem affords, which depend on the integrity and maintenance of the ecosystem structure and function, and the intensity of disturbance from outside. Accordingly, this research commenced from three main aspects, selected the evaluation indices, and then established the Evaluation Index System of Beijing Forest Ecosystem Health （EIS-BFEH）. In the EIS-BFEH, each of the three foundations contained an easily-operated and standard sub-index system, which compounded the specific natural and social conditions of Beijing and was concrete enough to measure and evaluate. Then with the method of the Analytical Hierarchy Process （AHP）, the comprehensive index （CI） could be obtained, which represented the health of the forest ecosystem. As a case study, the forest ecosystems in the Badaling area were sampled, evaluated, compared and ranked by use of the EIS-BFEH. The result show that the health of natural forests is much better than that of plantations in the Badaling forest center： the average comprehensive index of the former is 7.9, while the latter is only 6.6. From the results, it could also be found that there are nine units in the healthy state, two units in the subhealthy state, and only one unit of Robiniapseudoacacia in the morbid state.
