The 2023 update of the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology(CSCO)Clini-cal Guidelines for Gastric Cancer focuses on standardizing cancer diagnosis and treatment in China,reflecting the latest advancements in evidence-based medicine,healthcare resource availability,and precision *** updates address the differences in epidemiological characteristics,clinicopatho-logical features,tumor biology,treatment patterns,and drug selections between Eastern and Western gastric cancer *** revisions include a structured template for imaging diagnosis reports,updated standards for molecular marker testing in pathological diagnosis,and an elevated recommendation for neoadju-vant chemotherapy in stage III gastric *** advanced metastatic gastric cancer,the guidelines introduce new recommendations for immunotherapy,anti-angiogenic therapy and targeted drugs,along with updated management strategies for human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(HER2)-positive and deficient DNA mismatch repair(dMMR)/microsatellite instability-high(MSI-H)***,the guidelines offer detailed screening recommendations for hereditary gastric cancer and an appendix listing drug treatment regimens for various stages of gastric *** 2023 CSCO Clinical Guidelines for Gastric Cancer updates are based on both Chinese and international clinical research and expert consensus to enhance their applicability and relevance in clinical practice,particularly in the heterogeneous healthcare landscape of China,while maintaining a commitment to scientific rigor,impartiality,and timely revisions.

Solitary rectal ulcer syndrome complicating sessile serrated adenoma/polyps: A case report and review of literature

Solitary rectal ulcer syndrome(SRUS) is a rare benign condition, which can mimic many other diseases because of their similarities in clinical, endoscopic and histological features. Sessile serrated adenoma/polyp(SSA/p) is a premalignant lesion in the colon and rectum. The misdiagnosis of SSA/p in SRUS patients has been noted, but the case of SRUS arising secondarily to SSA/p has been rarely reported. We herein report the case of a 59-year-old man who presented with an ulcerative nodular lesion in the rectum, accompanied by the symptoms of blood and mucus in the feces, diarrhea and constipation. Magnetic resonance imagining revealed thickening of the rectal mucosa-submucosa. Histologically, the lesion was characterized by the hyperplastic lamina propria and diffusely serrated crypts. Further immunohistochemical staining showed the loss of HES1 and MLH1 expression in the epithelial cells in the serrated area. The patient with SRUS had histological changes of SSA/p, suggesting a potential of tumor transformation in certain cases. SRUS uncommonly accompanied by serrated lesions should at least be considered by pathologists and clinicians.

Comprehensive molecular characterization and identification of prognostic signature in stomach adenocarcinoma on the basis of energy-metabolism-related genes

BACKGROUND Stomach adenocarcinoma(STAD)is a leading cause of cancer deaths,but its molecular and prognostic characteristics has never been fully *** To describe a molecular evaluation of primary STAD and develop new therapies and identify promising prognostic *** We describe a comprehensive molecular evaluation of primary STAD based on comprehensive analysis of energy-metabolism-related gene(EMRG)expression *** On the basis of 86 EMRGs that were significantly associated to patients’progression-free survival(PFS),we propose a molecular classification dividing gastric cancer into two subtypes:Cluster 1,most of which are young patients and display more immune and stromal cell components in tumor microenvironment and lower tumor priority;and Cluster 2,which show early stages and better ***,we construct a 6-gene signature that can classify the prognostic risk of patients after a three-phase training test and validation *** with patients with low-risk score,patients with high-risk score had shorter overall ***,calibration and DCA analysis plots indicate the excellent predictive performance of the 6-gene signature,and which present higher robustness and clinical usability compared with three previous reported prognostic gene *** to gene set enrichment analysis,gene sets related to the high-risk group were participated in the ECM receptor interaction and hedgehog signaling *** Identification of the EMRG-based molecular subtypes and prognostic gene model provides a roadmap for patient stratification and trials of targeted therapies.

Metal oxide supported metal catalysts show promising catalytic performance in many industry-relevant ***,the enhancement of performance is often limited by the insufficient metal/metal oxide *** this work,we demonstrate a general synthesis of Pt-early transition metal oxide(Pt-MO_(x),M=Ti,Zr,V,and Y)catalysts with rich interfacial sites,which is based on the air-induced surface segregation and oxidation of M in the supported Pt-M alloy *** characterizations verify the dynamic structural response of Pt-M alloy catalysts to air and the formation of Pt-MO_(x) catalysts with abundant interfacial *** prepared Pt-TiO_(x) interfacial catalysts exhibit improved performance in hydrogenation reactions of benzaldehyde,nitrobenzene,styrene,and furfural,as a result of the heterolytic dissociation of H_(2) at Pt-metal oxide interfacial sites.

Development of component stiffness equations for thread-fixed one-side bolt connections to an enclosed rectangular hollow section column under tension

The derivation and validation of analytical equations for predicting the tensile initial stiffness of threadfixed one-side bolts(TOBs),connected to enclosed rectangular hollow section(RHS)columns,is presented in this *** unknown stiffness components are considered:the TOBs connection and the enclosed RHS ***,the trapezoidal thread of TOB,as an equivalent cantilevered beam subjected to uniformly distributed loads,is analyzed to determine the associated *** on the findings,the thread-shank serial-parallel stiffness model of TOB connection is *** analysis of the tensile stiffness of the enclosed RHS face due to two bolt forces,the four sidewalls are treated as rotation constraints,thus reducing the problem to a two-dimensional plate *** to the load superposition method,the deflection of the face plate is resolved into three components under various boundary and load *** to the plate deflection theory of Timoshenko,the analytical solutions for the three deflections are derived in terms of the variables of bolt spacing,RHS thickness,height to width ratio,***,the validity of the above stiffness equations is verified by a series of finite element(FE)models of T-stub *** proposed component stiffness equations are an effective supplement to the component-based method.

Comprehensive Evaluation Method for Traffic Flow Data Quality Based on Grey Correlation Analysis and Particle Swarm Optimization

Nowadays,data are more and more used for intelligent modeling and prediction,and the comprehensive evaluation of data quality is getting more and more attention as a necessary means to measure whether the data are usable or ***,the comprehensive evaluation method of data quality mostly contains the subjective factors of the evaluator,so how to comprehensively and objectively evaluate the data has become a bottleneck that needs to be solved in the research of comprehensive evaluation *** order to evaluate the data more comprehensively,objectively and differentially,a novel comprehensive evaluation method based on particle swarm optimization(PSO)and grey correlation analysis(GCA)is presented in this *** first,an improved GCA evaluation model based on the technique for order preference by similarity to an ideal solution(TOPSIS)is ***,an objective function model of maximum difference of the comprehensive evaluation values is built,and the PSO algorithm is used to optimize the weights of the improved GCA evaluation model based on the objective function ***,the performance of the proposed method is investigated through parameter analysis.A performance comparison of traffic flow data is carried out,and the simulation results show that the maximum average difference between the evaluation results and its mean value(MDR)of the proposed comprehensive evaluation method is 33.24%higher than that of TOPSIS-GCA,and 6.86%higher than that of *** proposed method has better differentiation than other methods,which means that it objectively and comprehensively evaluates the data from both the relevance and differentiation of the data,and the results more effectively reflect the differences in data quality,which will provide more effective data support for intelligent modeling,prediction and other applications.

Effect of cooling method on TiN precipitation behavior of high-titanium high-strength steel during solidification

Metallographic microscopy,scanning electron microscopy and TiN growth thermodynamic and kinetic equations were used to investigate the morphology,quantity,and size of TiN in the center of high-titanium high-strength steels under different solidification cooling *** results showed that TiN in the center of the experimental steels mainly existed in three forms:single,composite(Al2O3-TiN),and multi-particle *** began precipitating at around 1497℃(solidification fraction of 0.74).From the end of melting to solidification for 180 s,the cooling rates in the center of the experimental steels for furnace cooling,air cooling,refractory mold cooling,and cast iron mold cooling tended to stabilize at 0.17,0.93,1.65,and 2.15℃/s,*** size of TiN in the center of the experimental steel cooled using furnace cooling was mainly concentrated in the 5-15 pm *** contrast,the size of TiN in the center of the experimental steels cooled using air cooling,refractory mold cooling,and cast iron mold cooling were mainly concentrated in the 1-5 pm *** addition,their density of TiN in the center of the experimental steels is signif-icantly higher than that of the furnace-cooled experimental *** and kinetic precipitation models of TiN established predicted the growth size of TiN in a high-titanium high-strength steel when the solidification cooling rates are not below 0.93℃/s.

CD133:A cancer stem cells marker, is used in colorectal cancers

Colorectal cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors worldwide. A model of cancer development involving cancer stem cells has been put forward because it provides a possible explanation of tumor hierarchy. Cancer stem cells are characterized by their proliferation, tumorigenesis, differentiation, and selfrenewal capacities, and chemoradiotherapy resistance. Due to the role of cancer stem cells in tumor initiation and treatment failure, studies of cancer stem cell markers, such as CD133, have been of great interest. CD133, a five-transmembrane glycoprotein, is widely used as a marker to identify and isolate colorectal cancer stem cells. This marker has been investigated to better understand the characteristics and functions of cancer stem cells. Moreover, it can also be used to predict tumor progression, patient survival, chemoradiotherapy resistance and other clinical parameters. In this review, we discuss the use of CD133 in the identification of colorectal cancer stem cell, which is currently controversial. Although the function of CD133 is as yet unclear, we have discussed several possible functions and associated mechanisms that may partially explain the role of CD133 in colorectal cancers. In addition, we focus on the prognostic value of CD133 in colorectal cancers. Finally, we predict that CD133 may be used as a possible target for colorectal cancer treatment.
