Robust beamforming for IRS-aided SWIPT in cognitive radio networks

Intelligent reflecting surface(IRS)is widely recognized as a promising technique to enhance the system perfor-mance,and thus is a hot research topic in future wireless communications.In this context,this paper proposes a robust BF scheme to improve the spectrum and energy harvesting efficiencies for the IRS-aided simultaneous wireless information and power transfer(SWIPT)in a cognitive radio network(CRN).Here,the base station(BS)utilizes spectrum assigned to the primary users(PUs)to simultaneously serve multiple energy receivers(ERs)and information receivers(IRs)through IRS-aided multicast technology.In particular,by assuming that only the imperfect channel state information(CSI)is available,we first formulate a constrained problem to maximize the minimal achievable rate of IRs,while satisfying the harvesting energy threshold of ERs,the quality-of-service requirement of IRs,the interference threshold of PUs and transmit power budget of BS.To address the non-convex problem,we then adopt triangle inequality to deal with the channel uncertainty,and propose a low-complexity algorithm combining alternating direction method of multipliers(ADMM)with alternating optimi-zation(AO)to jointly optimize the active and passive beamformers for the BS and IRS,respectively.Finally,our simulation results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed BF scheme and also provide useful insights into the importance of introducing IRS into the CRN with SWIPT.

Dietary folate drives methionine metabolism to promote cancer development by stabilizing MAT IIA

Folic acid,served as dietary supplement,is closely linked to one-carbon metabolism and methionine metabolism.Previous clinical evidence indicated that folic acid supplementation displays dual effect on cancer development,promoting or suppressing tumor formation and progression.However,the underlying mechanism remains to be uncovered.Here,we report that high-folate diet significantly promotes cancer development in mice with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)induced by DEN/high-fat diet(HFD),simultaneously with increased expression of methionine adenosyltransferase 2A(gene name,MAT2A;protein name,MATIIα),the key enzyme in methionine metabolism,and acceleration of methionine cycle in cancer tissues.In contrast,folate-free diet reduces MATIIαexpression and impedes HFD-induced HCC development.Notably,methionine metabolism is dynamically reprogrammed with valosin-containing protein p97/p47 complex-interacting protein(VCIP135)which functions as a deubiquitylating enzyme to bind and stabilize MATIIαin response to folic acid signal.Consistently,upregulation of MATIIαexpression is positively correlated with increased VCIP135 protein level in human HCC tissues compared to adjacent tissues.Furthermore,liver-specific knockout of Mat2a remarkably abolishes the advocating effect of folic acid on HFD-induced HCC,demonstrating that the effect of high or free folate-diet on HFD-induced HCC relies on Mat2a.Moreover,folate and multiple intermediate metabolites in one-carbon metabolism are significantly decreased in vivo and in vitro upon Mat2a deletion.Together,folate promotes the integration of methionine and one-carbon metabolism,contributing to HCC development via hijacking MATIIαmetabolic pathway.This study provides insight into folate-promoted cancer development,strongly recommending the tailor-made folate supplement guideline for both sub-healthy populations and patients with cancer expressing high level of MATIIαexpression.

Novel plant activators with thieno[2,3-d]-1,2,3-thiadiazole-6-carboxylate scaffold: Synthesis and bioactivity

The 1,2,3-thiadiazole-carboxylate moiety was reported to be an important pharmacophore of plant activators.In this study,a series of novel plant activators based on thieno[2,3-d]-1,2,3-thiadiazole-6-carboxylate were designed and synthesized and their biological activity as plant activators was studied.The structures of the novel compounds were identifed by1H NMR,19F NMR and HRMS.The in vivo bioassay showed that these novel compounds had good effcacy against seven plant diseases.Especially,compounds 1a and 1c were more potent than the commercialized plant activator BTH.Almost no fungicidal activity was observed for the active compounds in the in vitro assay,which matched the requirements as plant activators.

Started from salicylic acid（SA） and related commercialized plant activators,based on molecular threedimensional shape and pharmacophore similarity comparison（SHAFTS）,a new lead compound benzotriazole was predicted and a series of benzotriazole derivatives were designed and synthesized.The bioassay showed that benzotriazole had high activity against a broad spectrum of diseases including fungi and oomycetes in vivo,but no activity in vitro.And the introduction of proper groups at the1＇-position and 5＇-position was beneficial to the activity.So,they had the potential to be exploited as novel plant activators.

Poly(3-hexylthio) thiophene Field-effect Transistor Device Performance: Impact of the Content of Hexylthio Side Chain on Backbone

Regioregular poly(3-hexylthio)thiopene(P3HTT) has emerged tremendous potential in organic electronic applications due to the strong noncovalent interactions from the sulfur atom linked to thiophene. However, P3HTT generally exhibits low charge mobility mostly due to poor solution processability attributed to dense arrangement of hexylthio side chain in polymer, which led to strong noncovalent interactions among sulfur atoms. To balance the nonvalent interaction and aggregation for P3HTT, herein, we systematically study the effect of hexylthio side chain content in polymer backbone on the structure and properties. A series of regioregular P3HTT-based homopolymers(P3HTT, P3HTT-50,P3HTT-33 and P3HTT-25) were prepared via Kumada catalyst transfer polycondensation method from a set of mono-, bi-, ter-and quarterthiophenes containing different contents of hexylthio side chain. The DFT calculation shows the planarity of polymers backbone could be improved through reducing the density of hexylthio side chain in polymer mainchain. And significant changes in their crystallinity, aggregation and optical properties were observed with the content of hexylthio side chain reducing. The P3HTT-33 displayed the highest field-effect transistor hole mobility of 2.83×10^(-2) cm^(2)·V^(-1)·s^(-1) resulting from a balance between the crystallinity and planarity. This study demonstrates modulating the content of hexylthio side chain in P3HTT is an effective strategy to optimize the opto-electronic properties of polymer obtaining excellent semiconductor device performance.

Optical Transient Source AT2021lfa:A Possible“Dirty Fireball”

AT2021lfa,also known as ZTF21aayokph,was detected by the Zwicky Transient Facility on 2021 May 4,a 05:34:48 UTC.Follow-up observations were conducted using a range of ground-based optical telescopes,as wel as Swift/XRT and VLA instruments.AT2021lfa is classified as an“orphan afterglow”candidate due to its rapid flux decline and its reddened color(g-r=0.17±0.14 mag).For an optical transient source without promp gamma-ray detection,one key point is to determine its burst time.Here we measure the burst time through fitting the initial bump feature of AT2021lfa and obtain its burst time as 2021 May 3,at 22:09:50 UTC.Using afterglowpy,we model the multi-band afterglow of AT2021lfa and find that the standard model canno reproduce the late radio observations well.Considering that the microphysical parameters ε_(e),ε_(B)(the energy fraction given to electrons and magnetic field),andξN(the fraction of accelerated electrons)may vary with time we then model the afterglow of AT2021lfa taking into account the temporal evolution of the physical parameters ε_(e),ε^(B),and ξ_(N) and find in this case the multi-wavelength observations can be reproduced well.The initial Lorentz factor of AT2021lfa can be estimated from the peak time of the early afterglow,which yields a value of about 18 suggesting that AT2021lfa should be classified as a“dirty fireball.”From the upper limit for the prompt emission energy of AT2021lfa,we obtain that the radiation efficiency is less than 0.02%,which is much smaller than that of ordinary gamma-ray bursts(GRBs).It is also interesting that the fitted values of jet angle and viewing angle are very large,θ_(c)~0.66 rad,θ_(v)~0.53 rad,which may lead to the low Lorentz factor and radiation efficiency.When compared with GRB afterglow samples,it is evident that the onset bump timescale of AT2021lfa satisfies the empirical relationships observed in GRB samples.Additionally,the luminosity of AT2021lfa falls within the range of observations for GRB samples;however,approximately 1 day after the burst,its lumino

Ultrathin and flexible MXene-contained electromagnetic interference shielding composite paper designed with a protective hydrogel film

MXene-contained paper is a good choice to design ultrathin and flexible electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding materials.However,the deficiencies in strength and stability of MXene-contained paper impede its practical applications.Herein,a composite paper was proposed to address the problems,in which a filter paper was modified with a three-layer structured surface via a facile layer-by-layer coating procedure.Specifically,the TEMPO-oxidized cellulose nanofibers(TOCN)/cationic starch(CS)/MXene gel layer and TOCN/MXene nacre structure layer ensured the good EMI shielding and mechanical performances of the composite paper,while the uppermost TOCN/CS hydrogel film layer mainly protected MXene.The composite paper achieved an EMI SE of 40.3 dB at a thickness of merely 0.1894 mm(SE/t value of ca.212.8 dB mm^(−1),SSE/t values of ca.13216 dB cm 2 g^(−1))and the total MXene dosage was 20 g m^(−2).Its tensile strength could be up to 11.7 MPa while the original filter paper was 6.4 MPa.Four pieces of this composite papers could be easily packed together to attain an EMI SE of nearly 70 dB.Importantly,the hydrogel film layer efficiently protected the MXene and maintained the EMI shielding performance of the composite paper when immersed in different liquids including water,HCl(1 M)and ethanol,due to the dense and compact structure of hydrogel film layer.This work provides a practical way to develop ultrathin,flexible and durable EMI shielding materials.

Privacy-Preserving Consensus-Based Distributed Economic Dispatch of Smart Grids via State Decomposition

This paper studies the privacy-preserving distributed economic dispatch(DED)problem of smart grids.An autonomous consensus-based algorithm is developed via local data exchange with neighboring nodes,which covers both the islanded mode and the grid-connected mode of smart grids.To prevent power-sensitive information from being disclosed,a privacy-preserving mechanism is integrated into the proposed DED algorithm by randomly decomposing the state into two parts,where only partial data is transmitted.Our objective is to develop a privacy-preserving DED algorithm to achieve optimal power dispatch with the lowest generation cost under physical constraints while preventing sensitive information from being eavesdropped.To this end,a comprehensive analysis framework is established to ensure that the proposed algorithm can converge to the optimal solution of the concerned optimization problem by means of the consensus theory and the eigenvalue perturbation approach.In particular,the proposed autonomous algorithm can achieve a smooth transition between the islanded mode and the grid-connected mode.Furthermore,rigorous analysis is given to show privacy-preserving performance against internal and external eavesdroppers.Finally,case studies illustrate the feasibility and validity of the developed algorithm.

Two Applications of the ■■-Hodge Theory

Using Hodge theory and Banach fixed point theorem,Liu and zhu developed a global method to deal with various problems in deformation theory.In this note,the authors generalize Liu-zhu's method to treat two deformation problems for non-Kahler manifolds.They apply the ■■-Hodge theory to construct a deformation formula for(p,q)-forms of compact complex manifold under deformations,which can be used to study the Hodge number of complex manifold under deformations.In the second part of this note,by using the ■■-Hodge theory,they provide a simple proof of the unobstructed deformation theorem for the non-Kahler Calabi-Yau ■■-manifolds.
