Industrial Carbon Emission distribution and Regional Joint Emission Reduction:A Case Study of Cities in the Pearl River Basin,China

China’s low-carbon development path will make significant contributions to achieving global sustainable development *** to the diverse natural and economic conditions across different regions in China,there exists an imbalance in the distribution of car-bon ***,regional cooperation serves as an effective means to attain low-carbon *** study examined the pattern of carbon emissions and proposed a potential joint emission reduction strategy by utilizing the industrial carbon emission intens-ity(ICEI)as a crucial *** utilized social network analysis and Local Indicators of Spatial Association(LISA)space-time trans-ition matrix to investigate the spatiotemporal connections and discrepancies of ICEI in the cities of the Pearl River Basin(PRB),China from 2010 to *** primary drivers of the ICEI were determined through geographical detectors and multi-scale geographically weighted *** results were as follows:1)the overall ICEI in the Pearl River Basin is showing a downward trend,and there is a significant spatial imbalance.2)There are numerous network connections between cities regarding the ICEI,but the network structure is relatively fragile and unstable.3)Economically developed cities such as Guangzhou,Foshan,and Dongguan are in the center of the network while playing an intermediary role.4)Energy consumption,industrialization,per capita GDP,urbanization,science and techno-logy,and productivity are found to be the most influential variables in the spatial differentiation of ICEI,and their combination in-creased the explanatory power of the geographic variation of ***,through the analysis of differences and connections in urban carbon emissions under different economic levels and ICEI,the study suggests joint carbon reduction strategies,which are centered on carbon transfer,financial support,and technological assistance among cities.

Decreased LDHB expression in breast tumor cells causes NK cell activation and promotes tumor progression

Objective: Abnormal metabolism is the underlying reason for breast cancer progression. Decreased lactate dehydrogenase B(LDHB) has been detected in breast cancer but the function of LDHB remains ***: Western blot was used to analyze LDHB expression in breast cancer cells. The impact of LDHB on tumor cell migration and invasion was determined using Transwell assays, wound healing assays, and a mouse lung metastasis model. Subcutaneous tumor formation, a natural killer(NK) cell cytotoxicity assay, and flow cytometry evaluated NK cell activation. Immunofluorescence and quantitative real-time PCR detected NK cell activation markers. Kaplan-Meier analysis evaluated the effect of immune cell infiltration on prognosis. Single-sample gene set enrichment analysis determined NK cell activation scores. A support vector machine predicted the role of LDHB in NK cell ***: In this study we showed that LDHB inhibits the breast cancer cell metastasis and orchestrates metabolic reprogramming within tumor cells. Our results revealed that LDHB-mediated lactic acid clearance in breast cancer cells triggers NK cell activation within the tumor microenvironment. Our findings, which were confirmed in a murine model, demonstrated that LDHB in tumor cells promotes NK cell activation and ultimately results in the eradication of malignant cells. Clinically, our study further validated that LDHB affects immune cell infiltration and function. Specifically, its expression has been linked to enhanced NK cell-mediated cytotoxicity and improved patient survival. Understanding the spatial and temporal distribution of different paleontological communities in the southern South China Sea(SCS)is fundamental to explore its paleoclimatic and paleoenvironmental *** this study,foraminifera,pollen and diatoms from 100 surface sediment samples covering 40000 km^(2) of sea floor in the southern SCS were comprehensively investigated in terms of their assemblage and *** results showed the existence of abundant foraminifera and pollen in most of the samples,although diatom communities were relatively *** were dominated by ***,***,***,while diatoms were characterized by ***,*** and ***,indicating a typical tropical marine *** pollen assemblages showed a better reflection of montane rainforest,tropical rainforest and *** spatial differences among foraminifera assemblages may indicate the effect of water depth and a warmer environment in the southeast part of the study area,while the spatial patterns of diatom and pollen assemblages imply the influence of coastal *** study also noted that the compositions of paleontological communities in the SCS can vary significantly in a short distance,and synthesized studies on multiple biological groups are needed to reconstruct the Quaternary climate and the oceanographic environment.

Development and applications of the quasi‐dynamic triaxial apparatus for deep rocks

The mechanical behaviors of deep rocks have always posed a challenge for the implementation and safe operation of major underground engineering *** this end,this study modified the existing mainstream rock mechanics instruments equipped with a dynamic disturbance loading system and developed a second‐generation TFD‐2000/D triaxial *** first‐generation device is equipped with an independent disturbance system and an advanced EDC‐580 all‐digital servo controller,which can apply disturbing load independently,implement the function of cyclic disturbance,and combine dynamic and static *** instrument was found to be reliable for use in analyzing the damage process of rocks in the disturbance test of *** second‐generation instrument tackles three limitations of the first‐generation instrument:(i)it upgrades the strain measurement system and uses extensometers with linear variable differential transformers to accurately measure deformation;(ii)it uses the self‐balanced chamber to replace the Hoek–Franklin triaxial cell and auto‐balancing triaxial pressure chamber;and(iii)the loading rod is independently equipped with an EDC‐580 all‐digital servo controller,which measures precise *** experimental findings confirmed that the second‐generation instrument can be used for rock mechanics testing under cyclic disturbance loading,the disturbance–stress relaxation cycle,and the creep–fatigue *** this sense,the second‐generation instrument can be a useful addition to deep rock mechanical instruments and provide a valuable reference.

Tunable lasers,with the ability to continuously vary their emission wavelengths,have found widespread applications across various fields such as biomedical imaging,coherent ranging,optical communications,and *** these applications,a wide chirp range is advantageous for large spectral coverage and high frequency ***,the frequency accuracy and precision also depend critically on the chirp linearity of the *** extensive efforts have been made on the development of many kinds of frequency-agile,widely tunable,narrow-linewidth lasers,wideband yet precise methods to characterize and linearize laser chirp dynamics are also *** we present an approach to characterize laser chirp dynamics using an optical frequency *** instantaneous laser frequency is tracked over terahertz bandwidth at 1 MHz *** this approach we calibrate the chirp performance of 12 tunable lasers from Toptica,Santec,New Focus,EXFO,and NKT that are commonly used in fiber optics and integrated *** addition,with acquired knowledge of laser chirp dynamics,we demonstrate a simple frequency-linearization scheme that enables coherent ranging without any optical or electronic linearization *** approach not only presents novel wideband,highresolution laser spectroscopy,but is also critical for sensing applications with ever-increasing requirements on performance.

Electrocatalytic nitrate reduction reaction(NO_(3)RR)offers a unique rationale for green NH_(3) synthesis,yet the lack of high-efficiency NO_(3)RR catalysts remains a great *** this work,we show that Au nanoclusters anchored on TiO_(2) nanosheets can efficiently catalyze the conversion of NO_(3)RR-to-NH_(3) under ambient conditions,achieving a maximal Faradic efficiency of 91%,a peak yield rate of 1923μg·h^(-1)·mgcat.-1,and high durability over 10 consecutive cycles,all of which are comparable to the recently reported metrics(including transition metal and noble metal-based catalysts)and exceed those of pristine TiO_(2).Moreover,a galvanic Zn-nitrate battery using the catalyst as the cathode was proposed,which shows a power density of 3.62 mW·cm^(-2) and a yield rate of 452μg·h^(-1)·mgcat.-*** simulations further indicate that the atomically dispersed Au clusters can promote the adsorption and activation of NO_(3)-species,and reduce the NO_(3)RR-to-NH_(3) barrier,thus leading to an accelerated cathodic *** work highlights the importance of metal clusters for the NH_(3) electrosynthesis and nitrate removal.

An Innovative Coupled Common-Node discrete Element Method-Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics Model Developed with LS-DYNA and Its Applications

In this study,a common-node DEM-SPH coupling model based on the shared node method is proposed,and a fluid–structure coupling method using the common-node discrete element method-smoothed particle hydrodynamics(DS-SPH)method is developed using LS-DYNA *** DEM and SPH are established on the same node to create common-node DEM-SPH particles,allowing for fluid–structure *** simulations of various scenarios,including water entry of a rigid sphere,dam-break propagation over wet beds,impact on an ice plate floating on water and ice accumulation on offshore structures,are *** interaction between DS particles and SPH fluid and the crack generation mechanism and expansion characteristics of the ice plate under the interaction of structure and fluid are also *** results are compared with available data to verify the proposed coupling ***,the simulation results demonstrated that controlling the cutoff pressure of internal SPH particles could effectively control particle splashing during ice crushing failure.

Quantitative Analysis of Seeing with Height and Time at Muztagh-Ata Site Based on ERA5 Database

Seeing is an important index to evaluate the quality of an astronomical *** estimate seeing at the Muztagh-Ata site with height and time quantitatively,the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts reanalysis database(ERA5)is *** calculated from ERA5 is compared consistently with the differential Image Motion Monitor seeing at the height of 12 *** show that seeing decays exponentially with height at the Muztagh-Ata *** decays the fastest in fall in 2021 and most slowly with height in *** seeing condition is better in fall than in *** median value of seeing at 12 m is 0.89 arcsec,the maximum value is1.21 arcsec in August and the minimum is 0.66 arcsec in *** median value of seeing at 12 m is 0.72arcsec in the nighttime and 1.08 arcsec in the *** is a combination of annual and about biannual variations with the same phase as temperature and wind speed indicating that seeing variation with time is influenced by temperature and wind *** Richardson number Ri is used to analyze the atmospheric stability and the variations of seeing are consistent with Ri between *** quantitative results can provide an important reference for a telescopic observation strategy.
