Manipulating the Phase Transition Behavior of Dual Temperature-Responsive Block Copolymers by Adjusting Composition and Sequence

Temperature-responsive polymers have garnered significant attention due to their ability to respond to external *** this work,dual temperature-responsive block copolymers are synthesized via reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer polymerization(RAFT)polymerization utilizing zwitterionic monomer methacryloyl ethyl sulfobetaine(SBMA) and N-isopropyl acrylamide(NIPAAm) as *** thermal responsive behaviors can be easily modulated by incorporating additional hydrophobic monomer benzyl acrylate(BN) or hydrophilic monomer acrylic acid(AA),adjusting concentration or pH,or varying the degree of polymerization of the block chain *** cloud points of the copolymers are determined by UV-Vis spectrophotometry,and these copolymers exhibit both controlled upper and lower critical solu bility temperatures(LCST and UCST) in aqueous *** study analyzes and summarizes the influencing factors of dual temperature responsive block copolymers by exploring the effects of various conditions on the phase transition temperature of temperature-sensitive polymers to explore the relationship between their properties and environment and structure to make them more selective in terms of temperature application range and regulation *** is very interesting that the introduction of poly-acrylic acid(PAA) segments in the middle of di-block copolymer PSBMA_(55)-b-PNIPAAm_(80) to form PSBMA_(55)-b-PAA_(x)-b-PNIPAAm_(80) results in a reversal of temperature-responsive behaviors from 'U'(LCST UCST) type,while the copolymer PSBMA_(55)-b-P(NIPAAm_(80)-co-AA_(x)) *** work provides a clue for tuning the phase transition behavior of polymers for manufacture of extreme smart materials.

Metal nanozymes with multiple catalytic activities: regulating strategies and biological applications

Nanozymes with high enzyme-like catalytic activity have been recognized as promising alternatives for nature enzymes and exhibit great potentials in biodetection,disease diagnosis and treatment. Metal nanozyme is an important member of the nanozyme family. When metal nanozymes are controllably regulated by compositions,sizes, morphologies, crystal defects, surface states or stimulated by diversified external fields, they will acquire unique geometric and electronic structures and exhibit various physical/chemical properties in catalytic *** significant progress has been made in metal nanozymes, there is still large space for further improving the catalytic efficiency, developing the synthetic process for large-scale production, facilitating the clinical transformation and exploring the untapped *** at these issues, rational design of novel nanozymes for better applications and deeper understanding of catalytic mechanisms are urgently required. Accordingly,this review focuses on the recent advances on regulating strategies, catalytic mechanisms and relevant biological applications of metal nanozymes with multiple enzymelike performance. Furthermore, future perspectives are outlooked to inspire more attention and efforts on this interesting multi-disciplinary field.

Chemiluminescence of Luminol-potassium Ferricyanide with Benserazide and Application in Analytical Chemistry

The enhancing effect of benserazide on the chemiluminescence of luminol-potassium ferricyanide in alkaline medium was investigated, and a sensitive method for detecting benserazide has been developed by flow-injection chemiluminescence＇s. The experimental results showed that the emission intensity is proportional to the concentration of benserazide in the range of 0.01-1.0 μg/mL, The detection limit （S/N=3） for benserazide turned out to be 0.9 ng/mL, and the relative standard deviation for 11 determinations of a 0.10μg/mL benserazide was 2.4%. The method was satisfactorily applied to the determination of benserazide in spiked urine samples.

Capillary electrophoresis-chemiluminecence detection of levodopa and benserazide in Medopar tablet

A novel method for the simultaneous determination of benserazide and levodopa using capillary electrophoresis （CE）- chemiluminescence （CL） has been developed. Under the optimal conditions, the detection limits （S/N = 3） were 1.85 μg/mL for benserazide and 0.12 μg/mL for levodopa. This method was successfully applied to the determination of benserazide and levodopa in Medopar tablet, the results showed that the detected values are in accordance with those by official methods.

Effect of a dual-function solar collector integrated with building on the cooling load of building in summer

As a building integrated solar thermal system,the dual-function solar collector integrated with building works for passive space heating in cold winter season,and for water heating in warm *** this paper,the study is made on the dual-function solar collector integrated with building when it works in water heating mode with natural *** coupled model of the collector and building's environment is established and validated.A numerical simulation is achieved to show the thermal effect of the novel system on the building in *** comparing with the cooling loads of the rooms with or without the novel collector in summer,the results show that when in summer,the novel solar system is available for serving hot water,and it does not have the summer overheating problem,and can even improve the thermal environment of its building slightly.

Fluorinated polymers are receiving more and more attention worldwide due to their unique chemical properties,and modified fluorinated polymers with different topologies are persued for enriching and enhancing their performance in a variety of application *** this work,main-chain-type semifluorinated graft copolymers are produced steadily in continuous tube reactors via photocontrolled step transferaddition and radical-termination(START)polymerization and Cu(0)-mediated reversible deactivation radical polymerization(Cu(0)-RDRP)at room temperature for the first ***,semifluorinated alternating copolymer(AB)n B is prepared by START polymerization of 1,6-diiodoperfluorohexane(A)and 1,7-octadiene(B)in the first quartz pipeline under irradiation with purple LED light at 20℃.The(AB)nB with periodic C―I bonds is then flowed into the second copper pipeline directly and acts as the macroinitiators for Cu(0)-RDRP of methyl acrylate(MA)to obtain corresponding graft copolymer(AB)n *** work provides a new strategy for continuous synthesis of fluorinated graft copolymer materials.

A numerical and experimental study of a dual-function solar collector integrated with building in passive space heating mode

A newly designed solar collector named dual-function solar collector is *** dual-function solar collector integrated with building can perform in two different modes:working as a passive space heating collector in cold sunny days such as in winter,or working as a facade water heating collector in hot days such as in *** experimental study has been carried out to investigate the performance of the novel system in space heating mode,whilst,the dynamic numerical model has been established and *** experimental and numerical results show that during the period of the measurement from 9:00 to 17:00,the mean indoor temperature was up to 24.7°C while the mean ambient temperature was only 4.8°C,and a temperature stratification was present in the ***,a numerical study on the effect of optical property of coatings has been carried out.

Electrocatalytic synthesis of ammonia as an environment-friendly and sustainable development method has received widespread attention in recent ***-dimensional(2D)materials are a promising catalyst for ammonia synthesis due to their large surface *** this work,we have constructed a series of 2D metal borides(MBenes)with transition metal(TM)defects(TMd-MBenes)and comprehensively calculated the reactivity of electrocatalytic synthesis of ammonia-based on density functional *** results have demonstrated that the TMd-MBenes can effectively activate nitrogen oxide(NO)and nitrogen(N2)molecules *** interesting,the co-chemisorption of O atoms,dissociated from NO,can facilitate the spilled of the inert N2 molecules into single N atoms,which can further hydrogenate into ammonia easily with an ultralow limiting potential of 0.59 V on *** research has not only provided clues for catalyst design for experimental study but also paved the way for the industrial application of electrocatalytic ammonia synthesis.

High-Order Two-Scale Asymptotic Paradigm for the Elastodynamic Homogenization of Periodic Composites

The classical two-scale asymptotic paradigm provides macroscopic and microscopic analyses for the elastodynamic homogenization of periodic composites based on the spatial or/and temporal variable,which offers an approximate framework for the asymptotic homogenization analysis of the motion ***,in this framework,the growing complexity of the homogenization formulation gradually becomes an obstacle as the asymptotic order *** such a context,a compact,fast,and accurate asymptotic paradigm is *** work reviews the high-order spatial two-scale asymptotic paradigm with the effective displacement field representation and optimizes the implementation by symmetrizing the tensor to be ***,the modified implementation gets rid of the excessive memory consumption required for computing the high-order tensor,which is demonstrated by representative one-and two-dimensional *** numerical results show that(1)the contrast of the material parameters between media in composites directly affects the convergence rate of the asymptotic results for the homogenization of periodic composites,(2)the convergence error of the asymptotic results mainly comes from the truncation error of the modified asymptotic homogenized motion equation,and(3)the excessive norm of the normalized wavenumber vector in the two-dimensional inclusion case may lead to a non-convergence of the asymptotic results.
