Both Pinghu and Huagang formations are important hydrocarbon reservoirs of the Xihu Depression in the East China Sea Shelf *** the source suppliers and restoring source-to-sink transport routes are of great significance to the future petroleum and gas *** researchers were largely confined by either limitation of geological records,highly dependence on a singular method or low-precision dating *** study integrated heavy mineral assemblages,geochemical analyses and detrital zircon U-Pb dating to reconstruct multiple source-to-sink pathways,and to provide a better understanding on the provenance evolution for the upper Pinghu–lower Huagang depositions of the Xihu *** least three major provenances have been confirmed and systematically investigated for their separate compositional *** Hupijiao Uplift(or even farther northern area)was dominated by a major Paleoproterozoic population peaked at ca.1830 Ma along with minor Mesozoic *** Haijiao Uplift to the west and the Yushan Low Uplift to the southwest,on the other hand,generate opposite U-Pb age spectra with apparently larger peaks of Indosinian and Yanshanian-aged *** be noted,both Indosinian and Paleoproterozoic peaks are almost identical in proportion for the Haijiao *** overall sedimentary pattern of late Eocene-early Oligocene was featured by both spatial and temporal *** Hupijiao Uplift was likely to cast limited impact during the late Eocene,whereas the broad southern Xihu Depression was transported by a large abundance of materials from the nearby Haijiao and Yushan Low *** northern source substantially extended its influence to the farther south during the early Oligocene by delivering plentiful sediments of higher-degree metamorphic parent *** with the proximal western and southwestern suppliers,the overall Xihu Depression was under control from both distant and local provenances.

Background and Aims:Metabolic-associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD)is a newly proposed terminology from 2020;yet,the applicability of conventional noninvasive fi-brosis models is still unknown for *** aimed to evaluate the performance of conventional noninvasive fibrosis scores in ***:The NHANES 2017-2018 datasets were used to compare the performances of different non-invasive fibrosis scores in MAFLD,including the aspartate aminotransferase(AST)to platelet ratio index(APRI),body mass index(BMI)-AST/alanine aminotransferase(ALT)ratio and diabetes score(BARD),fibrosis-4 index(FIB-4),and NAFLD fibrosis score(NFS).Moreover,Asian patients with biopsy-proven MAFLD were enrolled to further validate the ***:A total of 2,622 participants in the Na-tional Health and Nutrition Examination Survey(NHANES)cohort and 293 patients with MAFLD in the Asian cohort were *** in the Asian cohort had a lower BMI and higher liver enzymes(p<0.001).The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUROC)of NFS was the largest in the NHANES cohort and Asian cohorts(0.679 and 0.699,respectively).The AUROC of NFS was followed by APRI,FIB-4,and BARD in the NHANES cohort(0.616,0.601,and 0.589,respectively).In the Asian cohort,the AUROC of APRI,FIB-4,and BARD for predicting advanced fibrosis were 0.625,0.683,and 0.615,*** performance of FIB-4 was better in the Asian cohort than that in the NHANES ***:NFS is better for predicting advanced fibrosis in ***-4 can be an al-ternative choice for MAFLD with high liver enzymes when NFS is *** efficient noninvasive fibrosis scor-ing systems are highly required for patients with MAFLD.

Growth hormone （GH） exerts profound anabolic actions during postnatal skeletal development, in part, through stimulating the production of insulin-like growth factor-1 （IGF-1） in liver and skeletal tissues. To examine the requirement for the GH receptor （GHR） in osteoblast function in bone, we used Cre-LoxP methods to disrupt the GHR from osteoblasts, both in vitro and in vivo. Disruption of GHR from primary calvarial osteoblasts in vitro abolished GH-induced signaling, as assessed by JAK2/STAT5 phosphorylation, and abrogated GH-induced proliferative and anti-apoptotic actions. Osteoblasts lacking GHR exhibited reduced IGF-l-induced Erk and Akt phosphorylation and attenuated IGF-1-induced proliferation and anti-apoptotic action. In addition, differentiation was modestly impaired in osteoblasts lacking GHR, as demonstrated by reduced alkaline phosphatase staining and calcium deposition. In order to determine the requirement for the GHR in bone in vivo, we generated mice lacking the GHR specifically in osteoblasts （△GHR）, which were born at the expected Mendelian frequency, had a normal life span and were of normal size. Three week-old, female AGHR mice had significantly reduced osteoblast numbers, consistent with the in vitro data. By six weeks of age however, female AGHR mice demonstrated a marked increase in osteoblasts, although mineralization was impaired; a phenotype similar to that observed previously in mice lacking IGF-1R specifically in osteoblasts. The most striking phenotype occurred in male mice however, where disruption of the GHR from osteoblasts resulted in a ＂feminization＂ of bone geometry in 16 week-old mice, as observed by faCT. These results demonstrate that the GHR is required for normal postnatal bone development in both sexes. GH appears to serve a primary function in modulating local IGF-1 action. The main objective of this paper is to review recent advances in plant drug research and developments in orchid study, in an attempt to provide useful references for plant drug studies. Plants have been used as medicine for millennia. Out of estimated 250 000 to 350 000 plant species identified so far, about 35000 are used worldwide for medicinal purposes. It has been confirmed by WHO that herbal medicines serve the health needs of about 80 percent of the world's population; especially for millions of people in the vast rural areas of developing ***, consumers in developed countries are becoming disillusioned with modem healthcare and are seeking alternatives. The management of intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms(IPMN) is presently evolving as a result of the improved understanding of the natural history and biological behavior of the different pancreatic cystic neoplasms; and better preoperative diagnosis of these neoplasms due to advancement in preoperative diagnostic tools. International consensus guidelines for the management of IPMN were first formulated in 2006 and subsequently revised in 2012. Both these guidelines were constructed based on expert opinion and not on robust clinical data. The main limitation of the original Sendai guidelines was that it had a low positive predictive value resulting in many benign neoplasms being resected. Hence,these guidelines were revised in 2012. However,although the updated guidelines resulted in an improvement in the positive predictive value over the Sendai Guidelines,the results of several studies validating these guidelines demonstrated that its positive predictive value remained low. Furthermore,although both guidelines were associated with high negative predictive values,several investigators have demonstrated that some malignant IPMNs may be missed. Finally,it is imperative to emphasize that major considerations when managing a patient with IPMN including the patient's surgical risk,life-expectancy and even cost of investigations are not taken into account in current guidelines. The management of a patient with IPMN should be individualized and tailored according to a patient's risk benefit profile for resection vs surveillance.
