The metal-based additive manufacturing(AM),also referred to as metal 3D printing,has drawn particular interest because it enables direct creation,aided by computationally-directed path design,of intricate components with site-specific compositions and geometrical requirements as well as low buy-to-fly *** the last two decades,the objective of this revolutionary technology has been shifting from only“rapid prototyping”to advanced manufacturing of special high-end products or devices,which,in many aspects,outperform conventional manufacturing *** fusion-based AM,significant progress has been achieved in understanding the processing window of macroscopic scales,non-equilibrium metallurgy of mesoscale scales,and grain evolution of microscopic *** the versatile capacity of AM facilitates new avenues for discovering advanced materials and structures,their potential has still not been fully *** the unique non-equilibrium solidification during the AM process,coarse columnar grains with strong textures are usually developed along the build direction,which downgrades the mechanical *** push the limits of this digital manufacturing,this review attempts to provide in-depth and comprehensive overviews of the recent progress in understanding the evolution and control of the as-built microstructure that has been made recently and the challenges encountered during the AM process.

Single transition-metal atoms anchored on a novel Diracdispersiveπ-πconjugated holey graphitic carbon nitride substrate:computational screening toward efficient bifunctional OER/ORR electrocatalysts

Nonprecious-metal-group single-metal-atom catalysts with bifunctional catalytic capabilities toward the oxygen evolution reaction(OER)and oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)are highly sought after in energy-conversion and storage ***,producing renewable and sustainable energy sources remains ***,single-transition metal atoms anchored onπ-πconjugated two-dimensional(2D)graphitic carbon nitride substrates formπ-d conjugated conductive channels that enhance the overall electrocatalytic ***,firstprinciples calculations were carried out to design and demonstrate a novel macropore graphitic carbon nitride(gC_(10)N_(3))as a promising 2D electrocatalyst substrate to support single-transition metal(TM,from Sc to Au).The"donation-acceptance"charge interaction in the TM-N_(2)moiety effectively balances the adsorption strength of oxygenated intermediates in Ni@g-C_(10)N_(3)and Rh@gC_(10)N_3,making them effective bifunctional OER/ORR electrocatalysts with IrO_(2)/Pt-beyond overpotentials being as low as 0.39/0.38 V and 0.54/0.44 V,***,they possess high stability and conductivity and are less susceptible to oxidation and corrosion under working *** guarantees high activity under ambient ***,the origin of the OER/ORR activity of TM@g-C_(10)N_(3) is explained using multilevel descriptors:intrinsic(p,Bader charge,integral crystal orbital Hamilton population(ICOHP),bond length,and d-band center(εd).In particular,for optimal Ni@g-C_(10)N_(3),the clear hybridization between the Ni-d orbital and surface O-p orbital causes the paired electrons to occupy the bonding *** enables OH~*to be adsorbed on the Ni@g-C_(10)N_(3),thereby achieving the highest catalytic performance.

Effect of length-width ratio of rounded rectangle aquaculture tank in dual-diagonal-inlet layout on hydrodynamics

White Matter Lesions in Young-Middle Aged Migraineurs with Patent Foreman Ovale: A Case-Control Study

Protective Graphite Coating for Two-Dimensional Carbon/Carbon Composites

Two-dimensional carbon/carbon(2D C/C)composites are a special class of carbon/carbon composites,generally obtained by combining resin-impregnated carbon fiber clothes,which are then cured and *** study deals with the preparation of a protective coating for these *** coating,based on graphite,was prepared by the slurry *** effect of graphite and phenolic resin powders with different weight ratios was *** results have shown that the coating slurry can fill the pores and cracks of the composite surface,thereby densifying the surface layer of the *** the increase of the graphite powder/phenolic resin weight ratio,the coating density is enhanced while the coating surface flatness decreases;moreover,the protective ability of coating against erosion first increases(from 1:3 to 2:2)and then decreases(from 2:2 to 3:1).When the weight ratio is about 1:1,the coating for 2D C/C composites exhibits the best erosion resistance,which greatly aids these materials during gas *** this case,the erosion rate is decreased by approximately 41.5%at the impact angle of 30°and 52.3%at normal impact,*** can be attributed to the ability of the coating slurry to infiltrate into the substrate,thereby bonding the fibers together and increasing the compactness of the 2D C/C composites.

Residual diverse ensemble for long-tailed multi-label text classification

long-tailed multi-label text classification aims to identify a subset of relevant labels from a large candidate label set, where the training datasets usually follow long-tailed label distributions. Many of the previous studies have treated head and tail labels equally, resulting in unsatisfactory performance for identifying tail labels. To address this issue, this paper proposes a novel learning method that combines arbitrary models with two steps. The first step is the “diverse ensemble” that encourages diverse predictions among multiple shallow classifiers, particularly on tail labels, and can improve the generalization of tail *** second is the “error correction” that takes advantage of accurate predictions on head labels by the base model and approximates its residual errors for tail labels. Thus, it enables the “diverse ensemble” to focus on optimizing the tail label performance. This overall procedure is called residual diverse ensemble(RDE). RDE is implemented via a single-hidden-layer perceptron and can be used for scaling up to hundreds of thousands of labels. We empirically show that RDE consistently improves many existing models with considerable performance gains on benchmark datasets, especially with respect to the propensity-scored evaluation ***, RDE converges in less than 30 training epochs without increasing the computational overhead.
