Molecular mechanism of Xuebijing in treating pyogenic liver abscess complicated with sepsis

BACKGROUND:Xuebijing(XBJ)can alleviate the inflammatory response,improve organ function,and shorten the intensive care unit(ICU)stay in patients with pyogenic liver abscess(PLA)complicated with sepsis,but the molecular mechanisms have not been *** study aimed to explore the molecular mechanism of XBJ in treating PLA complicated with sepsis using a network pharmacology ***:The active ingredients and targets of XBJ were retrieved from the ETCM *** targets related to PLA and sepsis were retrieved from the GeneCards,PharmGKB,DisGeNet,Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man(OMIM),Therapeutic Targets Database(TTD),and DrugBank *** targets of PLA complicated with sepsis were mapped to the targets of XBJ to identify potential treatment ***-protein interaction networks were analyzed using the STRING *** treatment targets were imported into the Metascape platform for Gene Ontology(GO)functional enrichment and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)pathway enrichment *** docking was performed to validate the interactions between active ingredients and core ***:XBJ was found to have 54 potential treatment targets for PLA complicated with ***-1β(IL-1β),interleukin-6(IL-6),and tumor necrosis factor(TNF)were identifi ed as core *** enrichment analysis revealed important pathways,including the interleukin-17(IL-17)signaling pathway,the TNF signaling pathway,the nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB)signaling pathway,and the Toll-like receptor(TLR)signaling *** docking experiments indicated stable binding between XBJ active ingredients and core ***:XBJ may exert therapeutic eff ects on PLA complicated with sepsis by modulating signaling pathways,such as the IL-17,TNF,NF-κB,and TLR pathways,and targeting IL-1β,IL-6,and TNF.

Distributed Matching Theory-Based Task Re-Allocating for Heterogeneous Multi-UAV Edge Computing

Many efforts have been devoted to efficient task scheduling in Multi-Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV)edge ***,the heterogeneity of UAV computation resource,and the task re-allocating between UAVs have not been fully considered ***,most existing works neglect the fact that a task can only be executed on the UAV equipped with its desired service function(SF).In this backdrop,this paper formulates the task scheduling problem as a multi-objective task scheduling problem,which aims at maximizing the task execution success ratio while minimizing the average weighted sum of all tasks’completion time and energy *** three coupled goals in a realtime manner with the dynamic arrival of tasks hinders us from adopting existing methods,like machine learning-based solutions that require a long training time and tremendous pre-knowledge about the task arrival process,or heuristic-based ones that usually incur a long decision-making *** tackle this problem in a distributed manner,we establish a matching theory framework,in which three conflicting goals are treated as the preferences of tasks,SFs and ***,a Distributed Matching Theory-based Re-allocating(DiMaToRe)algorithm is put *** formally proved that a stable matching can be achieved by our *** simulation results show that Di Ma To Re algorithm outperforms benchmark algorithms under diverse parameter settings and has good robustness.

Interactive holography offers unmatched levels of immersion and user engagement in the field of future *** of the substantial progress has been made in dynamic meta-holography,the realization of real-time,highly smooth interactive holography remains a significant challenge due to the computational and display frame rate *** this study,we introduced a dynamic interactive bitwise meta-holography with ultra-high computational and display frame *** our knowledge,this is the first reported practical dynamic interactive metasurface holographic *** spa-tially divided the metasurface device into multiple distinct channels,each projecting a reconstructed *** switching states of these channels were mapped to bitwise operations on a set of bit values,which avoids complex holo-gram computations,enabling an ultra-high computational frame *** approach achieves a computational frame rate of 800 kHz and a display frame rate of 23 kHz on a low-power Raspberry Pi computational *** to this methodology,we demonstrated an interactive dynamic holographic Tetris game system that allows interactive gameplay,color display,and on-the-fly hologram *** technology presents an inspiration for advanced dynamic meta-holography,which is promising for a broad range of applications including advanced human-computer interaction,real-time 3D visualization,and next-generation virtual and augmented reality systems.

AIM:To evaluate dry eye disease(DED)symptomatology and mental health status in different COVID-19 ***:A cross-sectional observational design was *** 123 eligible adults(46.34%of men,age range,18-59y)with COVID-19 included in the study from August to November,*** Surface Disease Index(OSDI),Five-item Dry Eye Questionnaire(DEQ-5),Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale(HADS),and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)were used in this ***:OSDI scores were 6.82(1.25,15.91)in asymptomatic carriers,7.35(2.50,18.38)in mild cases,and 16.67(4.43,28.04)in recurrent cases,with 30.00%,35.56%,and 57.89%,respectively evaluated as having DED symptoms(χ2=7.049,P=0.029).DEQ-5 score varied from 2.00(0,6.00)in asymptomatic carriers,3.00(0,8.00)in mild cases,and 8.00(5.00,10.00)in recurrent cases,with 27.50%,33.33%,and 55.26%,respectively assessed as having DED symptoms(χ2=8.532,P=0.014).The prevalence of clinical anxiety(50.00%)and depression(47.37%)symptoms were also significantly higher in patients with recurrent infection(χ2=24.541,P<0.001;χ2=30.871,P<0.001).Recurrent infection was a risk factor for high OSDI scores[odds ratio,2.562;95%confidence interval(CI),1.631-7.979;P=0.033]and DEQ-5 scores(odds ratio,3.353;95%CI,1.038-8.834;P=0.043),whereas having a fixed occupation was a protective factor for OSDI scores(odds ratio,0.088;95%CI,0.022-0.360;P=0.001)and DEQ-5 scores(odds ratio,0.126;95%CI,0.039-0.405;P=0.001).CONCLUSION:Patients with recurrent COVID-19 have more severe symptoms of DED,anxiety,and depression.

Federated learning effectively addresses issues such as data privacy by collaborating across participating devices to train global ***,factors such as network topology and computing power of devices can affect its training or communication process in complex network *** and network convergence(CNC)of sixth-generation(6G)networks,a new network architecture and paradigm with computing-measurable,perceptible,distributable,dispatchable,and manageable capabilities,can effectively support federated learning training and improve its communication *** guiding the participating devices'training in federated learning based on business requirements,resource load,network conditions,and computing power of devices,CNC can reach this *** this paper,to improve the communication eficiency of federated learning in complex networks,we study the communication eficiency optimization methods of federated learning for CNC of 6G networks that give decisions on the training process for different network conditions and computing power of participating *** simulations address two architectures that exist for devices in federated learning and arrange devices to participate in training based on arithmetic power while achieving optimization of communication efficiency in the process of transferring model *** results show that the methods we proposed can cope well with complex network situations,effectively balance the delay distribution of participating devices for local training,improve the communication eficiency during the transfer of model parameters,and improve the resource utilization in the network.

Crosslinked solubilizer enables nitrate-enriched carbonate polymer electrolytes for stable,high-voltage lithium metal batteries

High-voltage lithium metal batteries(LMBs)have been considered promising next-generation highenergy-density ***,commercial carbonate electrolytes can scarcely be employed in LMBs owing to their poor compatibility with metallic lithium.N,N-dimethylacrylamide(DMAA)-a crosslinkable solubilizer with a high Gutmann donor number-is employed to facilitate the dissolution of insoluble lithium nitrate(LiNO3)in carbonate-based electrolytes and to form gel polymer electrolytes(GPEs)through in situ *** Lit solvation structure of the GPEs is regulated using LiNO3 and DMAA,which suppresses the decomposition of LiPFe and facilitates the formation of an inorganic-rich solid electrolyte ***,the Coulombic efficiency(CE)of the LillCu cell assembled with a GPE increases to 98.5%at room temperature,and the high-voltage LillNCM622 cell achieves a capacity retention of 80.1%with a high CE of 99.5%after 400 *** bifunctional polymer electrolytes are anticipated to pave the way for next-generation high-voltage LMBs.

A low-profile dual-broadband dual-circularly-polarized reflectarray for K-/Ka-band space applications

A low-profile dual-broadband dual-circularly-polarized(dual-CP)reflectarray(RA)is proposed and demonstrated,supporting independent beamforming for right-/left-handed CP waves at both K-band and *** functionality is achieved by incorporating multi-layered phase shifting elements individually operating in the K-and Ka-band,which are then interleaved in a shared aperture,resulting in a cell thickness of only about *** rotating the designed K-and Ka-band elements around their own geometrical centers,the dual-CP waves in each band can be modulated *** reduce the overall profile,planar K-/Ka-band dual-CP feeds with a broad band are designed based on the magnetoelectric dipoles and multi-branch hybrid *** planar feeds achieve bandwidths of about 32%and 26%at K-and Ka-band respectively with reflection magnitudes below-13 dB,an axial ratio smaller than 2 dB,and a gain variation of less than 1 dB.A proof-of-concept dual-band dual-CP RA integrated with the planar feeds is fabricated and characterized which is capable of generating asymmetrically distributed dual-band dual-CP *** measured peak gain values of the beams are around 24.3 and 27.3 dBic,with joint gain variation<1 dB and axial ratio<2 dB bandwidths wider than 20.6%and 14.6%at the lower and higher bands,*** demonstrated dual-broadband dual-CP RA with four degrees of freedom of beamforming could be a promising candidate for space and satellite communications.

Superior piezoelectric performance with high operating temperature in bismuth ferrite-based ternary ceramics

Due to the thermal depolarization effect,adequate piezoelectric performance with high operating temperature is regarded to be challenging to accomplish concurrently in piezoceramics for applications in specific piezoelectric *** this work,we synthesized(0.8−x)BiFeO_(3)-x PbTi_(3)-0.2Ba(Zr_(0.25)Ti_(0.75))O_(3)(abbreviated as BFO-x PT-BZT)ternary solid solutions with 0.15≤x≤0.30 by conventional solid-state reaction *** MPB composition with a coexisting state of rhombohedral-tetragonal phases exhibits enhanced electromechanical properties,including Curie temperature of 380℃,large-signal equivalent piezoelectric coefficient d^(∗)_(33)of 395 pm V^(-1),small-signal piezoelectric coefficient d_(33)of 302 pC N^(-1),and electromechanical coupling factor k_(p)of 50.2%,which is comparable to commercial PZT-5A ceramics,indicating potential in high-temperature ***,in-situ X-ray diffraction(XRD)and piezoelectric force microscopic(PFM)techniques demonstrate that multiphase coexistence and complex nanodomains promote piezoelectric response via *** x=0.24 composition exhibits the highest in-situ d_(33)of 577 pC N^(-1)and good temperature stability in 30−280℃,indicating that BZT-modified BFO-PT ceramics are promising candidates for high-temperature piezoelectric devices.
