BACKGROUND In the last decade, confocal laser endomicroscopy (CLE) has emerged as a newendoscopic imaging modality for real-time in vivo histological examination at themicroscopic level. CLE has been shown to be useful for distinguishing benign andmalignant lesions and has been widely used in many digestive diseases. In ourstudy, we used CLE for the first time to examine the morphology of cholesterolpolyps as well as the different parts of normal gallbladder *** SUMMARY A 57-year-old woman was diagnosed by ultrasound with a polyp of 21 mm in thegallbladder wall. She consented to polyp removal by laparoscopic *** laparoscopic cholecystectomy combined with choledochoscopicpolyp resection, CLE was used to observe the morphology of the polyp surfacecells. The appearance of the mucosa and microvessels in various parts of thegallbladder were also observed under CLE. Through comparison betweenpostoperative pathology and intraoperative CLE diagnosis, the reliability ofintraoperative CLE diagnosis was confirmed. CLE is a reliable method to examineliving cell pathology during cholecystectomy. Based on the stoichiometric method and the free energy minimization method,an ideal model for the reduction of iron oxides by carbon and hydrogen under blast furnace conditions was established,and the reduction efficiency and theoretical energy consumption of the all-carbon blast furnace and the hydrogen-rich blast furnace were *** results show that after the reduction reaction is completed at the bottom of the blast furnace,the gas produced by reduction at 1600℃still has a certain excessive reduction capacity,which is due to the hydrogen brought in by the hydrogen-rich blast as well as the excess carbon monoxide generated by the reaction of the coke and the oxygen brought in by the *** the process of the gas with excessive reduction capacity rising from the bottom of the blast furnace and gas reduction process,the excessive reduction capacity of the gas gradually decreases with the increase in the dydrogen content in the *** the all-carbon blast furnace,the excess gas reduction capacity is the strongest,and the total energy consumption per ton of iron reduction is the *** shows that,for the current operation mode of the blast furnace,adding hydrogen in the blast furnace cannot reduce the consumption of carbon required for reduction per ton of iron,but rather increases the consumption of carbon.

The development of a high-performance ferroelectric piezo-photocatalyst is an efficient strategy for advancing sustainability within the environmental and energy ***,a major challenge lies in the creation of a strong polarized electric field that can effectively hinder charge recombination,both within the bulk and on the surface of ***,we synthesize a series of Nb-doped Bi_(4)Ti_(3)O_(12)nanosheets via a facile one-pot hydrothermal method to achieve synergistically enhanced piezo-photocatalytic performance in CO_(2)reduction and pollutant *** optimized doped Bi_(4)Ti_(3)O_(12)demonstrates remarkable efficiency in the conversion of CO_(2)into CO,with a high production rate of 72.7μmol∙g−1∙h−1 without using co-catalysts or any sacrificial agent,surpassing the performance of unmodified Bi_(4)Ti_(3)O_(12)by up to 4.69 ***,our catalyst demonstrates ultra-fast piezo-photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutant Rhodamine B(RhB)at low concentrations and exceptional piezo-photocatalytic activity at high concentrations,outperforming most previously reported state-of-the-art *** systematic corroboration of catalyst characterization and experimental analysis reveals that the synergistic effect arises from the amplified macroscopic polarization induced by lattice distortion caused by the larger Nb ions,thereby improving piezo-photocatalytic *** research thus offers valuable insights into the direct design and fabrication of versatile catalytic systems,with applications spanning CO_(2)valorization and beyond.

Natural gas hydrate(NGH)can cause pipeline blockages during the transportation of oil and gas under high pressures and low *** hydrate adhesion on pipelines is viewed as an efficient way to prevent NGH *** studies suggested the water film can greatly increase hydrate adhesion in gas-dominant ***,by performing the molecular dynamics simulations,we find in water-dominant system,the water film plays different roles in hydrate deposition on Fe and its corrosion ***,due to the strong affinity of water on Fe surface,the deposited hydrate cannot convert the adsorbed water into hydrate,thus,a water film *** water affinities decrease(Fe>Fe_(2)O_(3)>FeO>Fe_(3)O_(4)),adsorbed water would convert to amorphous hydrate on Fe_(2)O_(3)and form the ordered hydrate on FeO and Fe_(3)O_(4)after hydrate *** absorbed water film converts to amorphous or to hydrate,the adhesion strength of hydrate continuously increases(Fehanisms on Fe and its corrosion surfaces and suggest hydrate deposition can be adjusted by changing water affinities on pipeline surfaces.

A high-temperature reduction roasting method was used to achieve metallic iron and zinc recovery from blast furnace gas ash(BFA).The reduction processes for Zn-containing and Fe-containing oxides were analyzed in detail by using ther-modynamic equilibrium calculation and the principle of minimum free *** results showed that the main reaction in the system is the reduction of ZnFe_(2)_(4)and iron *** the full temperature range,iron oxides were more easily reduced than zinc *** of the amount of CO contained in the system,the reduction of ZnO to Zn was difficult to proceed below the boiling point(906℃)of *** the reduction temperature is below 906℃,the reduction process of zinc ferrate was ZnFe_(2)_(4)→ZnO;when the reduction temperature is above 906℃,its reduction process becomed ZnFe_(2)_(4)→ZnO→Zn(g).The metallization and dezincification rates of the BFA gradually increased with increasing reaction *** the C/O ratio increased,the metallization and dezincification rates first increased and then *** effect of reduction time on BFA reduction was similar to that of reaction temperature.

Prostate cancer(PCa)is considered as an age-related disease and accounts for the most prevalence of urinary malignancies in men.1 We previously analyzed the cellular landscape of tumor microenvironment in PCa patients,where we found that cancer-related fibroblasts might play an important role in tumorigenesis and the development of PCa and tumor-associated macrophage(TAM)could function synergistically with them.2 Thus,we further integrated single-cell and bulk RNA sequencing with meta-analysis to specify the prognostic effect of TAM on PCa and construct molecular subgroups and predictive index to guide clinical practice.

The widespread adoption of lithium-ion batteries has been driven by the proliferation of portable electronic devices and electric vehicles,which have increasingly stringent energy density *** metal batteries(LMBs),with their ultralow reduction potential and high theoretical capacity,are widely regarded as the most promising technical pathway for achieving high energy density *** this review,we provide a comprehensive overview of fundamental issues related to high reactivity and migrated interfaces in ***,we propose improved strategies involving interface engineering,3D current collector design,electrolyte optimization,separator modification,application of alloyed anodes,and external field regulation to address these *** utilization of solid-state electrolytes can significantly enhance the safety of LMBs and represents the only viable approach for advancing *** review also encompasses the variation in fundamental issues and design strategies for the transition from liquid to solid *** noteworthy is that the introduction of SSEs will exacerbate differences in electrochemical and mechanical properties at the interface,leading to increased interface inhomogeneity—a critical factor contributing to failure in all-solidstate lithium metal *** on recent research works,this perspective highlights the current status of research on developing high-performance LMBs.

Aquatic vegetation is a vital component of natural river ecosystems,playing a crucial role in maintaining ecological balance,providing habitat and improving water ***,the presence of vegetation results in increased resistance in vegetated channels compared with non-vegetated channels,rendering traditional sediment movement predictions inadequate for the ***,the concept of a vegetation influence factor,denoted by CDah,has been proposed by previous researchers to represent the effect of vegetation on sediment movement in *** this study,we focus on exploring the vegetation resistance coefficient(CD)among the vegetation influence factors,evaluating two different calculation methods for vegetation resistance coefficient,and presenting two expressions through genetic algorithm analysis to predict the incipient flow velocity of sediment in vegetated *** predicted values from the new formulae show excellent agreement with measured data,highlighting the high accuracy of the proposed methods in predicting the incipient flow velocity of *** results provide a solid theoretical basis for understanding the influence of aquatic vegetation on sediment particle movement.
