Tetraolefin stereospecific photodimerization and photopolymerization in coordination polymers

In the context of the highly desirable design and preparation of smart materials with adjustable properties based on photoreactive compounds,we report two unique photoreactive coordination polymers(CPs),{[Zn(4-Iba)_(2)(4-tkpvb)]·H_()2O}_(n)(1,4-HIba=4-iodobenzoic acid,4-tkpvb=1,2,4,5-tetrakis(4-pyridylvinyl)benzene)and[Cd(1,4-bdc)(4-tkpvb)]_(n)(2,1,4-H_(2)bdc=1,4-benzenedicarboxylic acid).Depending on the metal ions and auxiliary carboxylate ligands used,the 4-tkpvb ligands in 1 and 2 adopt different mutual arrangements,which facilitate the photodimerization and photopolymerization reactions in single crystal to single crystal(SCSC)*** UV light irradiation which results in the dimerization of the 4-tkpvb ligands,the one-dimensional(1D)zigzag chainsof 1 are transformed into a two-dimensional(2D)network of{[Zn(4-Iba)_(2)(bpbtpvcb)_(0.5)]·H_(2)O}_(n)(1a,bpbtpvcb=1,3-bis(4-pyridyl)-2,4-bis(2,4,5-tri(2-(4-pyridyl)vinyl)phenylcyclobutane).Similarly,in the crystals of 2,all 4-tkpvb ligands experience a photopolymerization reaction to form an unprecedented 1D linear organic polymer,poly-1,3-bis(4-pyridyl)-2,5-bis(2-(4-pyridyl)-vinyl)phenyl)cyclobutane(poly-bpbpvpcb).Furthermore,the 2D network of 2 is converted into a three-dimensional(3D)framework of[Cd_(n)(1,4-bdc)_(n)(poly-bpbpvpcb)](2a).This work not only offers a new protocol to selectively synthesize new supramolecular cyclic compounds,but also expands the application of photopolymerization to the synthesis of macromolecules.

Dynamic Variation of Vegetation NPP and Its Driving Forces in the Yellow River Basin, China

The productivity of vegetation is influenced by both climate change and human *** the specific contributions of these influencing factors is crucial for ecological conservation and regional *** study utilized a combination of multi-source data to examine the spatiotemporal patterns of Net Primary Productivity(NPP)in the Yellow River Basin(YRB),China from 1982 to ***,a scenario-based approach was employed to compare Potential NPP(PNPP)with Actual NPP(ANPP)to determine the relative roles of climatic and human factors in NPP *** PNPP was estimated using the Lund-Potsdam-Jena General Ecosystem Simulator(LPJ-GUESS)model,while ANPP was evaluated by the Carnegie-Ames-Stanford Approach(CASA)model using different NDVI data *** model simulations revealed that significant greening occurring in the YRB,with a gradual decrease observed from southeast to *** to the LPJ_GUESS model simulations,areas experiencing an increasing trend in NPP accounted for 86.82% of the *** using GIMMS and MODIS NDVI data with CASA model simulations,areas showing an increasing trend in NPP accounted for 71.42% and 97.02%,***,both climatic conditions and human factors had positive effects on vegetation restoration;approximated 41.15% of restored vegetation areas were influenced by both climate variation and human activities,while around 31.93% were solely affected by climate ***,it was found that human activities served as the principal driving force of vegetation degradation within the YRB,impacting 26.35% of degraded areas solely due to human ***,effective management strategies encompassing both human activities and climate change adaptation are imperative for facilitating vegetation restoration within this *** findings will valuable for enhancing our understanding in NPP changes and its underlying factors,thereby contributing to improved ecological man

Detection of nitroaromatic compounds is important for national homeland security,military applications,forensic investigations,and environmental *** detection methods rely on trained sniffer dogs or sophisticated *** approaches need very expensive instruments and they are not easily accessible in most *** coordination polymers（CPs）or metal organic frameworks（MOFs）have proved to be attractive candidates for the detection of trace amounts of nitroaromatics.[1,2]This is mainly because can be efficiently modulated by both analyte–metal and analyte–ligand interactions and displays fast,highly sensitive,and reversible nitro-explosives sensing compared with other methods.[3]In this paper,we selected1,3,5-tri（4-vinylpyridyl）-benzene（tvpb）as a ligand to react with Co（NO3）2·6H2O and 2,2’-biphenyldicarboxylic acid（2,2’-H2bpdc）,producing one three-dimensional polymer[Co（tvpb）（2,2’-H2bpdc）]n（1）.In 1,each Co is coordinated by three O atoms from two bpdc ligands and three N atoms from three tvpb ligands（Fig.1a）.The average Co–O and Co–N bond lengths are 2.172（3）Aand 2.157（3）*** Co center and each tvpb ligand can be viewed as a 5-connected node and a 3-connected node,***,the structure of 1 can be simplified into a 3D（3,5）-connected topology（Fig.1b）.A finely ground sample of 1（2 mg）was suspended in 2 m L of water,sonicated for 1 h and exhibited an emission at 412 nm when excited at 291 *** 1 is very stable in water.A dispersed suspension of 1 in H2O also displays strong fluorescence emission and exhibits good selectivity and sensitivity toward nitroaromatic（Fig.1c）.

Fabrication of Ni-Zn spinel ferrite with superior magnetic performance from electric arc furnace dust and iron scale

The Ni-ZnFe_(2)O_(4)(NixZn_(1-x)Fe_(2)O_(4),x=0.4-0.7)spinel was synthesized using Zn2+extracted from electric arc furnace dust(EAFD),nickel chloride hexahydrate,and Fe^(3+)extracted from iron scale as raw *** zinc was selectively extracted from EAFD using CaO roasting followed by NH_(4)Cl solution *** ferric ion was leached from iron scale using HCl solution as acid *** experimental results demonstrate a high level of efficiency in the extraction of zinc,with a rate of 97.5%,and the leaching rate of ferric ion is 96.89%.The composition of the leaching solution is primary zinc and iron with low calcium,which is beneficial to the preparation of spinel *** influence of Ni content(x)and calcination temperature on the synthesis and magnetic properties of NixZn_(1-x)Fe_(2)O_(4)compounds was investigated by X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,and vibrating sample *** results revealed that both Ni content and calcination temperature significantly affect the synthesis and magnetic properties of spinel NixZn_(1-x)Fe_(2)O_(4).Under the conditions of Ni content set at x=0.6,calcination temperature of 1100℃,and a duration of 2 h,a spinel NixZn_(1-x)Fe_(2)O_(4)with high saturation magnetization(Ms=65.7 A m2 kg-1)and low coercivity(Hc=0.056 A m^(-1))was obtained.

Combustion aerosols and suspended dust with controlled processes in Lhasa:Elemental analysis and size distribution characteristics

To explore air contamination resulting from special biomass combustion and suspended dust in Lhasa,the present study focused on the size distribution and chemical characteristics of particulate matter(PM)emission resulting from 7 types of non-fossil pollution *** investigated the concentration and size distribution of trace elements from 7 pollution sources collected in *** Lhasa’s atmospheric particulate matter data,enrichment factors(EFs)have been calculated to examine the potential impact of those pollution sources on the atmosphere quality of *** highest mass concentration of total elements of biomass combustion appeared at PM_(0.4),and the second highest concentration existed in the size fraction 0.4-1μm;the higher proportion(12%)of toxicmetals was produced by biomass *** elemental composition of suspended dust and atmospheric particulate matter was close(except for As and Cd);the highest concentration of elements was all noted in PM_(2.5-10)(PM3-10).Potassium was found to be one of the main biomass *** proportion of Cu in suspended dust is significantly lower than that of atmospheric particulate matter(0.53%and 3.75%),which indicates that there are other anthropogenic *** EFs analysis showed that the Cr,Cu,Zn,and Pb produced by biomass combustion were highly enriched(EFs>100)in all particle *** EFs of most trace elements increased with decreasing particle size,indicating the greater influence of humanfactors on smaller particles.

Eosinophilia and clonorchiasis presenting as fever of unknown origin in adult patients

Fever of unknown origin(FUO)is recognized as fever with uncertain diagnosis despite three days of hospital admission or three or more outpatient visits.[1]Acute liver fluke infection is characterized by fever,right upper quadrant pain,hepatomegaly,jaundice,and peripheral blood *** contrast,chronic liver fluke infection is asymptomatic in its early stage,but can easily progress to cirrhosis,cancer,or bile duct cancer *** diagnosis of clonorchiasis is particularly challenging in non-endemic *** herein report an unusual case of liver fluke infection in a patient who presented with FUO and eosinophilia.A 38-year-old male was admitted to our hospital with a history of intermittent and recurrent fever for over 10 d and a history of sudden abdominal pain for1 *** had no other medical *** than 10d ago,he visited our emergency department because of FUO,with his body temperature reaching 39.7℃,and he had no other symptoms at that *** and radiological examinations revealed:white blood cell(WBC)counts,10.9×10^(9)/L;neutrophil percentage,84.5%;eosinophil percentage,3.1%;C-reactive protein(CRP),141 mg/L;liver and kidney function,normal;influenza virus,negative;urine and stool tests,normal;and chest computed tomography(CT)findings,*** fever subsided after 1 week of anti-infective treatment with *** tests revealed the following results:WBC,15.0×10^(9)/L;neutrophil percentage,70.0%;eosinophil percentage,16.8%;and CRP,122 mg/*** antimicrobial treatment was then discontinued.

Recently circularly polarized luminescence(CPL)materials have attracted significant *** reversible dynamic property to these materials has been a key focus in cutting-edge fields,such as in high-level information ***,we provided a novel and general strategy involving handednessselective filtration and ground-state chiral self-recovery(CSR)in double film system to address this *** on this strategy,we achieved CPL switch through the reversible modulation of ground-state chirality including absorption and scattering circular dichroism(CD)signals over the full UV-visible wavelength range(365-700 nm)in a single azobenzene polymer(PAzo)*** importantly,by flexibly changing the type of fluorescent films,it is convenient to achieve general excited-state CSR,that is reversible switching of full-color including ideal white(CIE coordinate(0.33,0.33)),as well as room-temperature phosphorescent *** these CPL signals without almost any intensity decay after three cycles of onand-off *** results indicated that the trans-cis isomerization and ordered rearrangement of azobenzene units in PAzo film were the fundamental reasons for realizing CPL ***,based on this system we achieved dynamic visual encryption and decryption process including multiple decryption *** study provides an effective method for constructing a universally applicable chiroptical switch in excited state.

Role of iron ore in enhancing gasification of iron coke:Structural evolution,influence mechanism and kinetic analysis

The utilization of iron coke provides a green pathway for low-carbon *** uncover the influence mechanism of iron ore on the behavior and kinetics of iron coke gasification,the effect of iron ore on the microstructure of iron coke was ***,a comparative study of the gasification reactions between iron coke and coke was conducted through non-isothermal thermogravimetric *** findings indicate that compared to coke,iron coke exhibits an augmentation in micropores and specific surface area,and the micropores further extend and *** provides more adsorption sites for CO_(2) molecules during the gasification process,resulting in a reduction in the initial gasification temperature of iron *** the heating rate in non-isothermal gasification can enhance the reactivity of iron *** metallic iron reduced from iron ore is embedded in the carbon matrix,reducing the orderliness of the carbon structure,which is primarily responsible for the heightened reactivity of the carbon *** kinetic study indicates that the random pore model can effectively represent the gasification process of iron coke due to its rich pore ***,as the proportion of iron ore increases,the activation energy for the carbon gasification gradually decreases,from 246.2 kJ/mol for coke to 192.5 kJ/mol for iron coke 15wt%.
